Prem y su familia son súper amables. Pude disfrutar de la cocina de Prem, deliciosa! Un lugar en el que poder descansar en un ambiente tranquilo, cuidado y limpio, con unas vistas increíbles y mucha paz.
Great place to stay in Namobuddha with nice food and only a short walk to the Monastery. You have amazing views right from the home stay. Great location for hiking as well.
Beautiful house in a beautiful place. Very clean, quiet, has everything you may need. Very nice family, owners of the house. Reasonable price.
Nothing
Amazing location. Beautiful views and walks around the property. Lovely family!
Totally recommend it to those who want to stay in a quiet environment and learn about Tamang communities and their culture. It is also very close to Namo Buda monastery.
Its very close to the Namobuddha Monastery and so ideal to explore the pilgrimage site and surrounding villages while being attuned to local life. The room is simple and comfortable. The view to the monastery is amazing. There is a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy homecooked meals.
We liked everything but people considering the place need to be adaptable considering the remote location and rural setting.
I loved the location, right opposite namobuddha. Ian was a great host, telling us all about the area and took us on a hike through the villages. Food was great.
The only issue I had was water accessibility - having to ask each time to get it filled rather than having filtered water accessible.
We stayed for four nights at Namaste Homestay and had a great time! The family is lovely and the host is very helpful. He can give you suggestions about what to do in the area; there’s a really big monastery you can visit. We could even watch the morning prayer of the monks, which was quite interesting. Also you can do some nice hikes in the area. The owners of the homestay also have a foundation, that provides some of the surrounding villages with running water. One day we went on a walk with the host and he showed as details about the project and explained a lot. It was always nice talking to him. Last but not least the self cooked food was always amazing! So if you want to spend some days in a wonderful homestay in some quiet but very interesting area not too far from Kathmandu, you found the perfect place! You can reach it by bus; you just have to change busses in Banepa or take a cab from there.
Upea sijainti! Kaikki toimi hyvin.
Everything was Great
I really enjoyed my stay to NAMASTE homestay. It is in a beautiful location in nature with great views. It is simple and comfortable. Eve and her kids are very kind, warm and welcoming and it was lovely to meet them! Also the Namobuddha monastery is not far so I had the opportunity to follow the activities of the monks and enjoy the ambience of the monastery.
stunning location...great hosts....delicious food and drinks.....really comfortable room with excellent fan ..lovely ensuite.....prem and ian and family go out of their way to provide at home thoughtful service and care...this my second visit and i was more than delighted with the service...cheers to prem for my early morning bike rides to namo buddha..always wonderful
there is nothing to dislike.....its a real home with a loving family...a total pleasure....with incredible views to the himalayas....the charitable intention of providing water to local villages makes your stay all the more meaningful
We had a great time here. Room was cute & clean. Good location - short walk to sites and hikes... Hosts were friendly. Breakfast was tasty. Facility was not perfect, but a great value for the money
Bathroom was down stairs, no paper provided - not a huge deal
close walk to namobuddha so you can try to catch the goings on at all hours of the day if you wanted to. food was EXCELLENT and some of the best pakodas i've never had in my life. owner and family area kind and always there willing to answer questions with a smile.
is along the main road so if you are a light sleeper and in the front room can be a little noisy. but traffic tends to die down to almost nothing at night.
If you're looking for a peaceful place in Namobuddha, just steps away from the monastery, Namaste Homestay is the perfect spot! We spent two days in this wonderful place with a beautiful crew, surrounded by local people, amazing landscapes and immersed in the spiritual life of the monastery. (There are three open meditation sessions daily, and it's easy to join in.) During our visit, we had the chance to take an off-the-map trek and discover the authentic everyday life of Nepali and Tamang communities. Prims and Ian (owners of the homestay) are also involved in powerful social projects in the valley, which we had the chance to witness up close.
The homestay is in a perfect location, with only 15 minutes walk to Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery. The view of the surrounding hills and villages was spectacular. The homestay staff was very attentive and provided authentic tasty food. The guy from the UK took us to look around the villages and introduced the meaningful innovative program to install water tank and pipeline for the village inhabitants. The unique experience brough us a closer look to the life of the local Tamang people.
Almost none
Lovely vibe with an amazing family running their own hotel stay. Kind and considerate extra touches. Helped us navigate our connections with local bus hops back to Boudinath. Super helpful! Relaxing atmosphere, great roof terrace with views. Delicious homemade food. Seriously delicious! Clean comfortable rooms and a chance to hear about local charity that supports local villages to access clean water supplies. 20 minutes easy walk to the Monastery.
Can't think of anything!
Such a cozy, and homely place. I immediately felt safe after meeting the family and their beautiful children. The beds were incredibly comfortable, shower was great and warm, with a clean toilet, the view and location made it a 10, as the bedrooms can look to either the sunrise or sunset. And to top it off, the food was insane - best Nepali veg curry I’ve ever had.
I loved the view on Himalaya and monastery, the kindness of the owner, the hot shower, and the food was really good. I really had a great stay there !
Nothing so far.
Amazing food, friendly host
A great fun and very relaxing homestay. Lovely family and fascinating to see the work of the Birimi Foundation too.
I loved absolutely everything about my stay! After the hustle and bustle of the main locations in Nepal, coming to Namaste Homestay made my heart sing. the view from the room was amazing and the fresh mountain air just made so happy! Every morning i would wake up super early and look at the scenery changing from dawn to day, it was like experiencing heaven! there is a little garden where you can sit, eat, read a book and sip a cup of tea. They grow their own vegetables and herbs and it feels so good to sit in peace there. The owners are amazing good people, and when i couldn’t find a ride to go back towards Kathmandu, they gave me a moto ride to the closest town. They have a lovely family and there are always kids around that will definitely steal you a smile or a laugh or a little play! The wifi works very well. Namobuddha is reachable by an easy walk and everyone is lovely around the village. What a gem! Definitely recommended Thank you again, so much love, i will come back!
The best homestay I've ever stayed in.. Prem and his family are the greatest people I've met in Nepal ( and I mean it!!). You will have an opportunity to stay with many locals and share about their culture. A lot of cute kids were always playing around, so the place was really lively. The food was excellent and the room & bathroom were sparkling clean! The village of Namobuddha is very authentic and the scenery stunning. If you're lucky enough, you will also have the opportunity to meet Ian who lives there and runs a charity association to provide water pipelines for remote villages. Trust me, go there ...that's the kind of place you will never forget.
Nice and peaceful place. Everyone is very nice there. Absolutely suggested for anyone visiting Namobouddha or hiking in the area.
Everything! - food, location, value for money, nearby hikes and last but not least Prem and his family.
Nothing
We loved everything about Namaste Homestay! My partner and I stayed here for one night on a hike in the Kathmandu valley. Our room was spotless and comfortable with a beautiful view. Prem and Ian were such wonderful hosts - communicative, thoughtful, so friendly and also completely respected your privacy. Prem cooked us an absolutely delicious dinner (with cold beer available!) and breakfast, he clearly put so much effort into the food and it really came though. The bathroom was also spotless and the water was hot. We couldn’t fault this property and would highly recommend it. It was a highlight of our 4 month trip! Thank you Prem and Ian!

We loved everything. From the warm welcome, to the great location, the comfortable rooms, the delicious food, the exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly owners, it was wonderful!
After almost one month travelling we found this amazing homestay where we felt like home and had some of our best days in this incredible country. It's been truly a gift to find this beautiful family, the accommodation is just perfect with stunning views of the valley and the monastery, the room is super cute and very comfortable, and the food is delicious. Namobuddha and surroundings are very interesting and peaceful, we came for 2 days and stayed 5! This kind of place remains forever in the heart and its memory will draw a smile on your face when you'll think of them. Thank you to all the family! We'll come back!
Beautiful and clean homestay. Great view of Namabuddha monastery. The host family was incredible helpful and kind, their food was amazing. We are in Kathmandu now wishing that we stayed longer
Nothing
Super friendly staff - Ian and Prim. Rooms were lovely and shared bathrooms super clean. The food was incredible, all done by Prim!
Nothing :)
Beautiful view from my room. Prim and Ian are more than kind and helpful. The food was great. Excellent value for money.
I was there in March, and the temperature in the morning was a bit chilly to shower in the unheated bathroom.
It was fabulous! Basic amenities but Prem and Panju and their family made us feel so at home. We will definitely be back!
For a homestay in rural Nepal it met our requirements
We enyojed our stay here. Room was clean and comfortable. Family is so lovely and they helped us with everything we need. Food was delicious. Thank you.
Bathroom was downstairs and others used it. But it was clean.
Prym really goes the extra mile to make all of the guests feel comfortable. Both he and his wife are extremely friendly, lovely people. The guesthouse has magnificent views of Namo Buddha monastery and the Himalayas. Prym brought me early in the morning and picked me up at the monastery every evening on his scooter. The bathrooms and rooms were very clean and comfortable. I ate some delicious meals on the rooftop and in the garden. They grow their own vegetables, and brew their own lemongrass liquor. I don't drink, but I heard from other guests that it was wonderful.
I wanted to pay using Wise money transfer. It wasn't that straightforward to obtain the correct bank details in time for my departure. I would have preferred to get that out of the way before leaving the guesthouse.
The sunset view from rooftop is beautiful.
Room without baseroom but in the ground floor is a little bit inconvenient, fortunately it's new and clean.
An absolute must stay, (more than 1 night!). Whether you visit the Namobuddha Monastery, hike the trails, sit street level or on the rooftop taking in the sights and sounds (which you could do for days), Namaste Homestay is THE spot! Prem and his kind family will make sure you are well fed and looked after.
Amazing hospitality. We loved our stay here. Hope to revisit sometime!
Nothing to complain
They have a stunning view of Namo Buddha monastery and the Himalayas. The building is newly painted. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. There's a rooftop where you can eat meals. The family is charming, especially the hostess and her sister. They make very good, fresh food. Some of the vegetables are grown in their own garden. The host offered to give lifts to and from the monastery on his scooter. Otherwise, it would have been difficult getting to the monastery early in the morning, and in the evening.
Local cabs are scarce and overpriced when you can get one. Bathrooms are outside. I cancelled my first night, explaining I was having difficultly altering my reservation from India, but was still obligated to pay. The bookings are managed by Ian in Edinburgh. Even though I'd already informed them, he sent me a WhatsApp asking if I was coming. I didn't know who he was, and thought his message was spam. He didn't know he could alter a guest's reservation. It took me a minute to find out he could have cancelled my first night. He told me the family would have to pay a penalty if I didn't pay. They agreed to allow me to pay using Wise digital bank transfer, which is how I paid for all of my rooms in India and Nepal. Even after repeated requests, they didn't give me their bank information. I would have happily paid at the beginning. When the owner finally gave me his bank details, it was right before I was going to leave. I made the transfer, but he had given me incorrect information, and the transfer was cancelled by his bank. Ian in Edinburgh accused me of entering incorrect details, even though I used Google photo to copy and paste all of the information given. It took a few more days to get the bank information from Ian. By that time, I was on to the next leg of my journey. It was very distracting. Ian told me I should have asked him in the beginning, but how was I to know. I was supposed to figure this out on my own somehow. I asked repeatedly how much I owed for food, and got no reply. The owner messaged me after I left that he checked, and I hadn't included the food amount. I only ate a few meals there. I told him he could take it out of the night I paid for, which I had cancelled ten days in advance. He replied that I could forget about the link Ian had sent me from Wise, and that he didn't want to discuss it. I tried showering one morning early. The water was ice cold. The padlock on my door took a long time to open and close.
The service is satisfied and the room is comfortable. The boss and staff are nice and friendly to the guests. There is an amazing snow mountain view that I can enjoy at the rooftop of the building. The fee is also acceptable.
Nothing
food and drink delicious and location trully exceptional.....prem could not have been a kinder host
What a fantastic stay! Booked for 2 nights stayed for 5! Beautiful room, carpeted floors, double glazed with views of the mountains and Nomabuddha Monastery. The family atmosphere is amazing and the food, well it doesn’t get better than that! Eggs, fresh juice, toast butter and jam at any time of you waking up! I was out exploring so missed lunches, but the evening meals were insanely good. (Chicken curry with rice and chips did well to stand out from other stand out dishes!) Nothing any trouble, the hosts are amazing, if you sit out the front the school children on their way home will come to say hi and play cards, chess and dominoes with guests. (If that’s not your thing a new guests only garden at the rear is for you!) Finally the price. It’s crazy good value so you want to leave more!
Nothing!
incredible place to stay for the night! the hosts are incredibly welcoming, cook the most delicious dinner and breakfast, in a peaceful place outside of Kathmandu. could not recommend this place anymore to anyone visiting Nepal!
I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in my special time at namobuddha. Prem and his wonderful family took care of me and went the extra mile in every way from offering to drive me up the hill when I was tired to writing down the recipe and teaching me how to cook their delicious homemade curry ! There is a wonderful outdoor area with a view of the monastery and the Mountain View’s out of the window of my bedroom took my breath away. I hope to one day return :)
Super friendly owner who provided a good room, fantastic food and helped in every way possible to make this a great stay! The place is located in a peaceful village, close to the Namo Buddha Monastery and Stupa, which is a pilgrimage site. It's a short and pleasant walk to the monastery and all the roads are dust free. A perfect place to get away from the noisy and polluted Kathmandu and see how local people live.
The mattress could be a bit softer, but it was ok.
All dishes of the menu (lunch, dinner, breakfast) are Made on the spot and delicious!!! The service of Prim and his wife is perfect aswell is the virus!!!
We loved our stay at Namaste, it was a lovely break from the hustle and bustle on Kathmandu - the room was clean and had everything we needed including a beautiful view over the hills and town. The food was fabulous and the area was phenomenally beautiful! But the stand out for us was our hosts who were so kind and accommodating! We were taken on a stunning walk to Bimire where their charity has loads pipes to allow running water to reach the village. We will absolutely be back!
Nothing!
Friendly family, great food and close to the monastery.
We had a fantastic time in Namaste Homestay and we wished we could have stayed longer. Ian, Prem and his family were very welcoming. We had a very comfortable stay and we enjoyed the food so much! (the chicken curry, the Bimire breakfast and the freshly homemade limonade are delicious :D). The best part of our stay was that we really got an opportunity to hang out with the locals, to play with the kids from the neighborhood and to laugh all together. It is such a lovely memory we keep. We highly recommend this homestay experience!
This is honestly one of the best homestay’s we have stayed in. It’s located in a beautiful village with great views. But what really makes this place so special were the hosts, they were so so kind and helpful. They made our experience very authentic. The food was also amazing; we had homemade chicken curry and chips and a delicious Dal Bhat, all made with local ingredients by the hosts. They also took us on a lovely trek to see the newly installed pipeline, which they have worked hard to set up. So supporting this business also helps the local villages get water lines installed. If you want a real taste of Nepal stay here
Great homestay! The owners were very friendly, helpful and engaging. Also, the facilities are great: the bathrooms have western toilets and hot water showers. The freshly cooked food was exceptionally good, and eating on the rooftop terrace, seeing the monastery in the background is a great experience, so make sure to eat as many meals as possible at this homestay!

Ian is a great host! His project is wonderful and we were very happy to spend a day there, only wish we stayed more!
