Academy Motor Inn

Location was very handy close to city center, supermarkets and motorway to get to the mount and Papamoa too!

The kitchen cooking area was a little small! Might be helpful with a few extra shelves for putting groceries and bits and bobs .

I have stayed here multiple times now, it's just perfect. Clean, cosy, great staff, private, perfect location nice and central & has everything you need

perfect location to our friends house and our unit was quiet considering the closeness to Cameron Road

The place was just looking a bit tired but it was an older unit with big rooms and living area

We really enjoyed our stay at the Academy Motor Inn last night. Unfortunately we didn't get time to really enjoy the motel and facilities much as we arrived quite late, it was nearly 9pm, the had to leave again at 8am this morning for the dance competition across the road, but we were impressed with our suite. :) It was very clean and well presented. We loved the two separate bedrooms (my husband and daughter slept in the queen bed and I slept in one of the single beds). I loved that there were heat pumps in each bedroom and a heater kindly going in the lounge for us when we arrived. I also enjoyed watching YouTube on the TV in my bedroom. :) Excellent having a carpark for our vehicle right outside our room too! The receptionist I spoke to on the phone earlier yesterday was lovely and helpful. :)

My daughter was worried about having a shower as it was yellowish in colour (the older style colour material!) which put her off but we got there! :)

Central, very clean and comfortable.

Alot of road noise, though can't be helped given the location.

The staff, I was late check in, and rung late also, the man(Simon I think his name was) He was so lovely, understanding, even left our key under the mat and turned our heater on which I was super grateful for as it was cold.

Excellent staff, got a room upgrade without even asking, and everything was so organised. can't ask for more

Everything!!! Whenever I'm in Tauranga, it is my go to place to stay 😀 and I have never had an issue! It's really nice when you are remembered from previous stays, and have genuine conversations.

That it was only for a night 😭

Everything - the rooms, the facilities and especially the absolutely fantastic customer service!!!!

Nothing - everything was exceptional!

Clean, tidy, cosy and simple, close to everything

Nothing to fault everything was good

The distance of the property to most stores was very convenient. Very warm and spacious. Lovely to settle in with a partner. Hot tub was superb & very supportive to my partners needs. The efficiency and adaptability from staff was very helpful. Will definitely stay at Academy again!! Thank you team :D

Good central address. Very comfortable bed, lovely having a bath to relax in. Simon & staff were lovely to chat to & very helpful.

I was very impressed with the unit, which suited our needs well

Very clean and nice.

I have stayed a few times and always enjoyed my experience. The room is very comfortable, with everything I needed. The bed is comfortable with amazing sheets. The host is lovely. The motel is ideally situated to the city center. I will stay Again if I need to visit Tauranga

Clean and tidy

Parking was tight

Room and layout were great. Kitchen utensils and dinnerware is nice. Pool was lovely when we used it.

Can’t suggest anything we didn’t like.

Beds were comfy. Everything you need is in the room. Location perfect for central Tauranga, hospitals and supermarkets. Staff were helpful and extremely nice.

Nothing.

Clean property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool and spa were clean and perfect temperature. Central location - easy to get around

The property was exceptional clean. The owners made me feel very welcome. The property is well kept and even though I didn't use it the pool was very nice.

There wasn't anything I disliked.

Room is looking somewhat tired; quite noisy, the main road outside is a magnet for hoons at the weekend; couldn't enjoy a cup of coffee before I left as the milk provided was off, but I was told no one else had complained.....

very clean and modern rooms spacious easy access to the pool and spa kids enjoyed all facilities including the selection of board games

maybe just the cleaning staff could be a little less loud in the mornings our room was right next to washouse and storage room and got woken up rather early every morning to staff arriving and banging around in there

Very comfortable, clean room, and the swimming pool and spa area provided great space for relaxing.

Good location, nice room and friendly staff.

Great reception, very thoughtful hosts. Arrived to find out they had given us an upgrade. Amazing

Clean and tidy, friendly, helpful staff. Only 500m from the theatre we were attending.

Comfortable and close to where I needed to be. Staff are lovely

Great Motel in Tauranga, comfy beds, very clean, block out curtains, good water pressure in the shower, Sky TV - Happy customers. Will be back for sure.

Liked everything, just be aware it is next to a main road so a little road noise is to be expected, this is not a negative comment we were very happy with the level of noise we had.

Location to hospital was good

Electric blanket not working on left side. No 3 now channel available. Noisey tenants after midnight.

Loved the amenities from the coffee to the body wash.

Very spacious rooms - heaps of space for two adults and two kids. Everything very clean. Beds made with crisp sheets. Easy to maneuver a big car in the car park. Close to town & 1min away from food choices. Two tvs in both bedrooms. Huge bathroom with a bath and shower.

The pipes are a bit noisy from our own unit. If someone needs to go to the toilet in the night, it pays not to flush as it wakes the whole family up.

Perfect spot with great access in Tauranga

Room was very cold but once we got the heat going. No worries

good awesome experience visit again when we need

Clean and great parking

A bit noisy on main rd

The shower mixer needed some attention.

Very comfortable and well thought out Accommodation. Close to town and great for getting around.

Some of the decor is dated.Cameron Road engineering.

Beds were comfy, we used the spa pool, room was spacious, they let us check in half an hour earlier which was nice, parked right outside the room.

Overpriced for what it is. This was a last-minute option as when we arrived at our original accommodation booking, they informed us they had double-booked the room. Options were limited for Easter weekend but Booking.com said on the phone we could stay here and they would reimburse us. For $325 a night, we expected it to be more flashy. Carpets were tired, lighting wasn't great, room was serviced but only coffee was replaced, no milk and bed wasn't made. Shower is over a bath with poor ventilation in the bathroom, few hairs on the towels. Knowing how much we forked out for it left a sour taste. If you're looking for a $300-a-night experience, this isn't it. It would be fair to pay $150-170 for this room.

Location, pool and hot tub - clean

Very comfortable and well situated for our needs

Awesome place highly recommend

Ideal location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Having a shower over bath is not ideal. Other than that our unit was great.

The heated pool was awesome. Convenient location, clean facilities and unnoticeable traffic noise from major intersection. We enjoyed so much we extended our stay another night. Looking forward to our next stay at the Academy Motor Inn

Loved the location as near to where I was going and know my way around there, and have stayed 2 other times.

I was happy with everything.very relaxing

I really enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, which made it feel like a home away from home. The amenities were fantastic, especially the pool, which was a great way to relax after a busy day. The location was perfect, as it was close to everything I wanted to explore, making it incredibly convenient. Plus, the staff were not only friendly but also had a great sense of humor, which added to the overall positive experience.
