It was a lovely unit. Very, very clean and comfortable. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The motel is very handy to Memorial Park and a short walk to shops.

I could hear the people above and next door moving around, but it wasn't a major issue.

Views of the harbour, warm and light filled. Staff were very helpful.

We stayed at Harbour View last March and from the moment we arrived, we knew we'd found somewhere special. Our first impression was how fantastic it was, and by the end of our five-day stay, we were genuinely wishing we had booked longer. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. The accommodation is located in a peaceful yet scenic area of Tauranga, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and amenities. Mount Maunganui's beautiful beach, vibrant café scene, shops, and eateries are just a short drive away and are also easily reached by Uber in the evening at a reasonable cost. A special mention must go to Kathie and Bronwyn, who were the most welcoming hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay and made us feel completely at home. The accommodation itself was excellent and had everything we needed. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped and thoughtfully stocked with tea, coffee, and other essentials, and the bathroom included complimentary toiletries. We also loved the small private garden, which was a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast each morning. Having access to laundry facilities and outdoor equipment was an added bonus. Harbour View was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip. Comfortable, well-appointed, and hosted by genuinely lovely people, it is somewhere we would return to without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Amazing location and view I loved the apartment very clean as well

We booked this motel at the last minute and were so pleased we did. The room was spotlessly clean, really spacious, and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable too – we had one of the best night's sleeps we've had away from home. A big thank you to Kathie for turning the heat pump on before we arrived. It was so nice walking into a warm room on a chilly day – such a thoughtful touch. The location was perfect too. It's close to the city centre, so everything was easy to get to, but tucked away enough that it was lovely and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay in Tauranga.

We only stayed for 1 night but really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Very tidy and made us feel right at home.

The 3 bedroom apartment was perfect size for us, and it had a beautiful view of the harbour. It was clean, warm and comfortable. Great location and the hosts were friendly and very accommodating.

This was my second visit, certainly not the last. The staff are helpful and friendly and the units are very clean and tidy. There is a supermarket close by as well as food outlets. A perfect spot just by the water.

We had a wonderful stay, everything was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the lounge and the view. Will definitely be back!

The room was clean and tidy. It suited our needs, it is a compact area but for one night it is fine. Excellent water pressure and heat.

Needs a bit of a spruce up, a fresh coat of paint would do wonders.

I come to Tauranga to visit my elderly mother who resides 5 minutes away from Harbour View Motel . The location is excellent ,walking distance from CBD ,5 minutes from large supermarket and cafes . 1 minute away from the Harbour so offers lovely views and walks. This is my 6th visit and it feels like coming home the staff always remember me and welcome me so beautifully . The apartments are so well appointed that to stay for over a week is made easy by all the appliances .It was cold while I was there and all the heating was just right . I can’t recommend this Motel and Apartments enough , so much so that2 friends are going to stay there this week .Thank you for making me feel so comfortable.Deb

We were in 3 bed room Appartment. One bed room out of 3 was too small. There was no full mirror in the apartment.

Everything was so clean!! Even outside on the buildings, I couldnt see cobwebs or anything, it was so very clean, I literally looked because it was really surprising! Rooms were great, beds surprisingly comfortable, I slept so well, everything you needed, nice 10sec walk to the beach, peaceful, quiet area, safe area, staff were welcoming & informative. Hop, skip & a jump to the CBD, nice close restaurants.

What a fabulous apartment! We stayed in the water view upstairs apartment and it was fabulous! Such a well equipped apartment with everything that’s needed for a comfortable stay. Service was fabulous and the team made sure we were well looked after.

Service from Kathy was outstanding. Very lovley and easy to deal with. Great greeting and welcoming manor. especially when asked about dinner ideas, she had everything laid out all ready. The apartment was great, especially for one night stay, everything was there that i required. The Location was great, a quick round the corner trip to where i needed to go. The view of the harbor was a added bonus, when the tide was out it was so great to walk along and export, and in the morning the tide was right up to the ramp and the view was stunning. Highly recommended.

The views are exceptional. The living room setup is excellent to enjoy the outlook over the harbour and the space is bright and warm. The bed is slightly tucked away from the living space, which is great. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities and wants (lovely choice of teas and a much appreciated coffee supply) and the bathroom is roomy and comfortable. We also appreciated the location, as we were able to walk into town for a meal.

It was a last minute booking but the owner was very friendly and her staff offered excellent customer service. The sea front view rooms were all fully booked but they managed to offer us a really nice, clean room with a good view. Thank you. We would come back again.

The 3 bedroom unit (9) is a true 3 bedroom, large lounge and full kitchen, only has 1 toilet, so for 6 people, it's not practical. The 1 bedroom unit upstairs (7) has the main bedroom in the lounge area and 2 singles in the bedroom. If you select unit 5 or 8 both downstairs, the single bed is in the lounge that you enter into the unit, and the bedroom with Q bed is separate, not suitable to sleep very young children as you then have to retire to the bedroom as soon as they go to bed. Unit 5 has a very small bedroom and tiny shower, not suitable for a large male. Location is fantastic, you can walk to parks, cafes and town, heaps of parking, and overall a pleasant stay. Like the ability to use the laundry and a very large separate kitchen to cook for a large group if required. No keys, just codes to get into your rooms, fantastic. Has coffee plungers and/or nespresso machines.

The pictures and descriptions of the rooms are not clear on this site. I would advise you call the venue first and ask about each room. There is substantial road noise if you are upstairs on the backside of the complex. Too many signs in the units, some maintenance required.

We were on the ground floor and the only thing is that when people are walking and showering it is rather loud. But doesn’t last long.

What a great spot to stay! Sheltered yet right in a bay. Quiet area, tidy and clean. Comfortable beds, everything you would need in a kitchen and bathroom! Keyless entry to the room which is great as I am hopeless with keys and cards! Lovely ladies to deal with, gave us the inside scoop when it came to Op Shopping! Such a friendly space! Central and close to shops. Definitely highly recommend and absolutely would stay again!

A last minute booking which suited us well for our road trip. Very spacious, clean and stunning location. Shame about the weather and rain, but otherwise this stop and space was just what we needed for our road trip. Location was perfect and highly recommended.

Not a major thing, but the orientation of the lounge suite needs to be reconsidered as facing the other way from the TV.

We stayed at Harbor View for four days while celebrating my son’s wedding in Tauranga, and it was a wonderful experience. Kathie was incredibly helpful and accommodating right from the start. Managing a large group (23 of us including 3 children) is no easy task, but she made everything feel seamless and stress-free for us. We truly appreciated her support and hospitality. We booked most of the rooms, because our schedule was quite busy, we unfortunately didn’t get much time to fully enjoy the beautiful water views. Keep up the wonderful work, Kathie and Bronwyn !

This is a great value and a lovely place. Roomy with a cute little kitchen, 2 bedrooms, view of the lake, and the staff were very nice. Quiet, comfortable, and access to the lake. A short 15-20 minute drive to the beach/Mt. Maunganui. We also participated in the glowworm kayaking tour, for which the meeting point was only 15 minutes drive away. Fabulous breakfast places closeby and plenty of cute restaurants/cafes over in Mt. Maunganui village. This is a gem and we are so glad we stayed here!

Great place to stay for two nights or two weeks Everything and more in the room that we needed , was spotless and Kathie was great giving us all the info we needed for a fabulous stay.

We loved the staff who couldn'tdo enough to help they very informativeand helpful. The room was immaculate, clean and had extra consumables like tissues, paper towel, shampoo and conditioner,nice coffee and a guest laundry that was free of charge. The location was great close to town and quiet.

My family and I (total 5 adults) stayed in the spacious Apartment D which has 3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, laundry machine + dryer and direct garden access with a small patio to sit and relax. There was also a private waterfront/beach access just next to the apartment. It was a very smooth process from check-in till check-out, and Kathie had been a wonderful host to us …. welcoming us warmly to the motel/apartment, providing a map, recommendation on eateries and scenic spots around Tauranga. We had a wonderful and very comfortable stay at the apartment and would consider booking in again during our next visit to Tauranga. Likewise, we highly recommend it to other visitors to Tauranga.

The views and the cleanliness off the place, everything was perfect

Stayed at Harbour View Motel for 4 nights and chose the garden room. The weather was beautiful so it was breakfast outside every morning. The unit was large and bright and well equipped. The bed was huge and comfy and the pillows and linen were great quality. We had been travelling for more than 2 weeks and this was the first place we had been able to unpack our cases as there was a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers…. sheer joy! Kathie was fabulous, so friendly and welcoming and gave us tips on places to visit. Much appreciated. This is a place that’s prepared to go the extra mile and it shows.

Well renovated older building offering larger rooms. The comfortable retro furnishings suit the building. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful owner / manager at the reception desk.

We had an amazing seven days staying in first floor apartment B. Bright, clean and spacious apartment; bed was very comfortable, shower had good pressure and temperature, TV is good and the kitchenette / laundry room fully equipped for an extended stay (Motel even has a couple of Kayak's for using out in the bay). Of course the view is to die for, overlooking the harbor / bay waters.. so peaceful. Hosts are top notch and very approachable and you feel they run this place with a passion.

The apartment was advertised with a view. The view was really impressive with full windows overlooking the water. Do be advised there are multiple rooms, some without views. Chris checked us in and worked very hard to make sure we were taken care of and satisfied. It was a very pleasant stay and a full value

I should have looked at the map a little closer. The property is near downtown and about a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beach near Mt. Maunganui town and beach. It was a fairly easy drive and you can get an Uber for under $10 USD.
