Reviewed Jul 1, 2026We really appreciated the location – it was quiet, set in a cul‑de‑sac, and felt very safe. The facilities were good overall, and the bathroom in particular was large and clean.
There were a few issues that caught us off guard, particularly given the high cleanliness rating. The fold-out couch had a noticeable stain, which made us uncomfortable using it as we weren’t sure what it was. There was also visible mould on the curtains, which detracted from the overall feel of the space. We had some difficulty accessing basic information on arrival. The information book hadn’t been updated, so we couldn’t immediately find the WiFi details, and the listed mobile number was disconnected. We were able to get in touch via email, and the host responded pretty promptly. Overall, the stay was good, but addressing some of these points would make a meaningful difference for future guests.

It's very quiet and warm (considering the cold nights) and the hosts are friendly and quiet. We'd be happy to stay here again. Thank you.

Reviewed May 17, 2026The cleanliness, materials, colours and ambience were like a high-end apartment whereas I was expecting just a functional space to shower and sleep, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Jenna responded promptly and succinctly to a query that I had and resolved the matter without delay. All of the facilities were excellent! I loved the shower, often a bugbear for me. The water pressure was great, the temperature was easy to adjust, and the shower head was high enough for me to stand up straight underneath it.
It’s very much a first world problem so I won’t complain too much, but the stool was a bit too high for the bench so I couldn’t fit my thighs under the bench while sitting on it and had to sit further away from the counter than I would have preferred while I was eating my lunch.

Reviewed Mar 4, 2025Jenna and Chris are excellent hosts. Jenna was at the property when we arrived, so she just handed us the keys. The studio is very spacious and has everything you need. The bed is super comfy. Jenna and Chris gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and gave us good directions to the beach. The beach is huge, beautiful and not crowded. This was our last stop on a 4 week vacation, so we really just wanted to relax and play in the ocean. It was the perfect ending to our trip.

Reviewed Nov 25, 2024The unit was tastefully decorated and well set out.The neighborhood is quiet. The bed was comfortable and the towels were soft. Great compendium...very informative, with good recommendations. (We had breakfast at Pearl Kitchen-it lived up the review) The crockery, glassware, etc were easy to find and there was a good selection of coffee, tea, etc.
The overall experience would be enhanced with the addition of black out curtains. We had hoped for a nice sleep in, which wasn't to be. In saying that, it's the best place we have stayed in Papamoa and would stay again.
