Rien à dire de plus que c'était parfait, ils sont attentionnés avec leurs hôtes et très gentils J'ai passé un agréable séjour et y reviendrai avec plaisir ☺️

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Mai Chau et le Mai Chau homestay Hillside a grandement contribué au succès de notre séjour, et ce, malgré les mauvaises conditions météorologiques. Le rapport qualité - prix est excellent: un bangalow familial spacieux, bien décoré, confortable et extrêmement propre. Mai, la famille propriétaire est d’une gentillesse extrême, très dévouée et serviable. Les conseils de visites et les aides de Mai pour l’organisation logistique étaient précieux, de la recommandation des sites à visiter, jusqu’aux taxis… Les petits déjeuners étaient copieux et tous les dîners (à commander à l’avance) étaient excellents). Cette adresse est à refaire et à recommander à tous les voyageurs sans aucune hésitation. Merci beaucoup Mai, pour nous avoir si bien accueillies.

La location au calme La vue fantastique sur les rizières et les montagnes L’esprit familial authentique de l’ethnie minoritaire Thái Les excellents dîners avec les légumes du jardin et des produits locaux. Mai est une excellente cuisinière.

Je crois que nous avons tout aimé dans ce superbe Homestay dans lequel nous avons passé 3 jours et 2 nuits. En premier lieu, la grande gentillesse et disponibilité de notre hôte, qui a partagé avec nous, en anglais, toutes les informations utiles, à la fois liées à notre hébergement mais également aux activités et découvertes à faire dans le coin. A souligner egalement sa délicieuse cuisine et son aide dans la logistique liée au transport. Nous y avons dîné les 2 soirs. Nous nous sommes régalés pour un tarif très raisonnable. Nous avons adoré le logement et sa terrasse au dessus des rizières avec une vue époustouflante. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison, en sécurité et bien conseillés. Nous ne souhaitions plus repartir...Le coin est de toute beauté et très authentique. Si nous avons la chance de revenir au Vietnam, c est sur, nous reviendrons à Mai Chau et ne voulons pas d un autre Homestay que celui-ci. Merci encore.

We had a very nice stay at the Hillside Homestay- The rooms are peaceful, have a beautiful view on the rice fields and are very spacious. The owner is very friendly, helpful and prepares dinner, should you wish to, which I highly recommend because the food was very good.

The bikes were a bit rusty and we missed a place to relax outside, a couple of hammocks would haven been good.

Aucun regret d'avoir choisi cet homestay. L'emplacement est incroyable avec une vue directe sur les rizières. Le bungalow familial est waouh...avec ses 2 lits immenses, sa clim, sa salle de bain, bref, le top. Allez seul bémol est que le matelas est tres tres ferme mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer de bonnes nuits et surtout dans le calme. L'accueil tres chaleureux de la propriétaire avec ses 2 adorables enfants. Pour vous déplacer vous pouvez louer des vélos à 50.000vnd la journée et par personne et des scooters à 150.000vnd la journée. Bon petit dejeuner, simple mais bon. Par contre, le dîner, une tuerie... la cuisine de la propriétaire est excellente avec plusieurs spécialités proposées pour 150.000vnd par personne. Nous y avons mangé les 2 soirs et nous avons apprécié que les plats soient variés. A côté du homestay, vous avez un petit salon de massage qui mérite d'être visité ( masseuse adorable, compétente et prix plus qu’abordable) et un peu en contrebas, vous avez un cafe qui sert aussi des plats et franchement, pour pas cher, on a super bien mangé le 12h.

We loved everything about our stay. We arrived very early and were able to leave our bags for a few hours before check-in, and use the toilets to change. The room was a good size and the shower nice and hot. The balcony was great and provided a lovely view. The location was a short walk into the centre, so convenient for eating out but also nice and quiet.. Our hosts were lovely people, and the breakfast was nice (especially the egg sandwich).

Traumhafte Unterkunft mitten in den Reisfeldern. Eine Oase der Ruhe. Sehr gepflegte und attraktive Anlage. Die Schönheit der Umgebung kann zu Fuß oder mit den vorhandenen Fahrrädern erkundet werden. Die Verpflegung ist außergewöhnlich gut. Unbedingt auch das Abendessen buchen: Die Wirtin verwöhnt ihre Gäste mit sehr leckeren und abwechslungsreichen Spezialitäten der Region. Und sie spricht sehr gut Englisch. Sie organisiert alles absolut zuverlässig: Ausflüge, Transport zum nächsten Reiseziel und andere Wünsche.

Nous avons tout adoré ! La vue sur les rizieres, la taille de la chambre, la propreté, les equipements : fan, air conditionner et moustiquaire. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Le petit dejeuner est copieux et la propriétaire propose le repas du soir qui etait très copieux, variés et excellent. La maison d'hote est proche des différents cafés (15 min à pied) et il y a possibilité de louer des vélos ou scooters pour profiter des environs.

My wife and I loved our host and family! It was a beautiful and peaceful location that we truly enjoyed. After touring all around Mai Chau on bicycles we were so happy to arrive back at our homestay. Quiet with very little traffic noise. Ngan was a great cook so we eat all our meals at Mai Chau Hillside Homestay. Our favourite spot in Vietnam.

Ours was the family cottage (they have 2), which was large and comfortable for a couple with a balcony straight over the rice fields. Simple but well equipped (fan and AC, fridge etc), and spotlessly clean. Host was always smiling and breakfast made to order was tasty. Great views and relatively quiet. We really enjoyed our stay.

L'amabilité de la propriétaire, la localisation au milieu des rizières, la proximité pour les massages, et surtout les très bons dîners avec la diversité et la quantité !

Superbe bel accueil, on est arrivés un peu tard et on avait demandé le dîner après avance, il était divin! Tout le séjour s'est magnifiquement passé, avec un bon tour à vélo, visite d'une grotte, balade à pied à travers la jungle, les rizières, par la route !

Das Homestay liegt schön zwischen Reisfeldern. Die Bungalows haben schönen Ausblick. Die Betten sind gut und der Raum zweckmäßig. Die Besitzerin ist sehr nett.

Die Bezüge der Betten waren nicht gewechselt und die Kissen nur umgedreht. Dadurch habe ich es beim check erst nicht gemerkt. Das ist schon eklig und da mein Sohn in der Zeit einen Virus eingefangen hat, kann ich nicht ausschließen, dass es hiervon kam. Die Besitzerin wollte tatsächlich Geld für das Leihen der wirklich schlechten Fahrräder. Es ist recht laut morgens und abends. Dafür kann das Homestay nichts, aber als wir da waren, war direkt nebenan im Massagehaus eine fette Party, gegenüber mehrere Karaoke und Musik, die über die Reisfelder herüber klangen. Ab 22:00 ist aber Ruhe.

Accueil et gentillesse du personnel au top ! Emplacement parfait au pied des rizières, balade à vélo, calme et dépaysement tout y est.

A very special place with a peaceful atmosphere, stunning views (try to get one of the two beautiful rooms right on the rice paddies), and the hostess is wonderful and a great cook. Highly recommend having her in-house dinners every night you're there! Bicycles and scooters can be rented to get around the region which is really breathtaking. We kept extending our stay and didn't want to leave this place.

Loved the quiet location, the friendly host and fabulous home cooked food.

We liked everything, the location was on the quiet side, amazing views and comfortable room. Host was very nice, delicious pancakes in the morning, good coffee and fresh fruits. Everything was at walkable or cycling distance, restaurants, shops, nice rice fields and local shops. Having the option to rent bicycles and motorbike made our stay really enjoyable. We also appreciated the AC which helped a lot during the cold weather in february. The family is really sweet and nice and it would be definitely my pleasure to have the chance to stay here again. We stayed one night in the family room and one night in the 2 person room. Everything was perfect. Clean rooms with aircon. The family room is very spacious. We enjoyed reading on the balcony. The location of the homestay is beautiful, with a great view on the surrounding mountains and rice fields. We used the bikes to discover more of the surroundings. We enjoyed a great breakfast and 2 fabulous dinners! The family is friendly and sweet.

Beautiful location, a private bungalow looking out onto the rice paddies and mountains. The host Ngan was lovely and accommodating, even when we got sick. Would definitely recommend.

It's all great!

Everything was just perfect. Amazing views, clean and beautiful bungalows with a cute balcony and very comfortable beds. I love that they have mosquito nets, even though I didn't use them. The breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruits and the homecooked dinner was even better. I literally could have stayed here for weeks and truly hope to be back some day.

The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely hot shower and comfortable beds. The verandah overlooked the rice fields and beautiful countryside. We had free use of bicycles to explore the local area. The family who own the homestay are lovely and very helpful.

We liked everything. Homestay is situated in a very peaceful location among rise fields, the bungalow looked new and was very clean, we had a terrace with beatiful view. The owner was really nice and helpful and cooked the best dishes. We wish the village and nature will stay like this and wont be destroyed by tourism. We had a lovely time here, would love to stay here again. We ended up staying 6 nights. The room is spacious and clean, with an amazing view(and so quiet at night) It was a bit cold during the nights in january. But the room was dry and warm and the shower was hot with good pressure. Our host cooked us dinner every night and every night we had a different and very tasty home-cooked meal. She also offered us laundry service, she arranged a motorbike for us and transport back to Ninh Binh. She made our stay very easy and pleasant, definitely recommend!

The bungalows are brand new, spacious and beautifully appointed with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the rice patties where the ducks come to swim and frolic. It’s the kind of place you would come to write a poem with its heavenly scenic views across the fields to the mountains. Our host Ngan, is the sweetest person you will meet in all of Vietnam and she also cooks traditional home style Vietnamese dinners.

What a place Hillside Homestay is. Set in a quiet corner of the Mai Chau rice fields this modern bungalow accommodation is relaxation personified. The view from the room are enough to make you want to stay a lifetime. Add to this the wonderful, caring hostess Ngan and her beautiful family, you know your on to a winner. The beds were comfortable, the pillow a little too large for me was changed upon request. The bathroom was clean and odour free with hot water as needed. I choose to eat here every night for a week. Ngan surprised me with a selection of dishes and fruits that were delicious, no menu just vegetarian or not and leave the rest up to her. Great value at 150000 VND. Breakfast was included in the price, I had a delicious warming Pho every day. Ngan is great at providing information on events or travel locally and the accommodation provides bicycles for free. Her English is limited but she makes great use of translation apps and is easy to communicate with. Thank you to the family who let me stay at the accommodation till my onward transport arrived and who provided me with snacks and water for the journey. Until next time. X

The breakfast was absolutely delightful—both delicious and filling. From fresh fruits to wholesome grains, the variety was impressive and catered to health-conscious guests like myself. The portions were generous, leaving me satisfied and energized for the day ahead. The location of this place is truly a gem—serene, peaceful, and incredibly pleasant to the eye. Nestled in a tranquil setting, it offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the highlights was the balcony/terrace, where I could relax and enjoy the serene beauty of the surrounding green rice fields and mountains while sipping my morning coffee. The only sounds were the soothing chirps of birds—a truly peaceful escape. The host's (Ngan) hospitality was exceptional—polite, kind, and always eager to accommodate any requests, though there was little more to desire with such a perfect setup. Upon check-in, I was greeted with complimentary bottles of water, a small but appreciated gesture. The room was well-equipped with everything you might need—a kettle, hair dryer, coffee sachets, cups, saucers, hangers, indoor slippers, towels, hand wash, and soap sachets. The fresh and spotless linen added to the comfort, and the AC worked perfectly, ensuring a pleasant stay. Add on, complimentary bicycles to ride around the green paddy fields.

Honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like about my stay. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience

Well located in Mai Chau, very nice accommodation and view. Very clean. The fact that it has air conditioning and you can close the windows is helpful, especially if it's end of rice season and the farmers are burning roughage in the fields. Laundry service is available. Excellent breakfast.

This homestay is tough to find, because Google maps will put you about a mile away from the actual location. Would be helpful if there were some signs for this homestay along the roadways that link the center city part of town to the rice fields to the west.

Great guesthouse in Mai Chau! New and clean. Ngan, the owner, was nice and helpful with everything we needed. Our kids played together. I recommand it warmly.

Excellent accommodation, outstanding family run establishment, it was so good. I didn’t want to leave. Breakfast was excellent. Also had evening meals which were again excellent.

There was nothing we did not like

Great views. You can have breakfast on your private terrace. Beds were really comfortable. High quality cottage with a good airconditioning. Free bikes.

Mosquito in the bathroom

Everything. The place is clean and comfortable, and the bathroom is large with a hot and cold shower. Everything is new. We had booked 3 nights, but ended up staying 11. The cottage is placed on the rice field so the view is spectacular. They have plenty of free bikes and the area is well worth exploring. Very good breakfast and dinners and also other restaurants nearby. Thank you for having us, we really have appreciated your kind hospitality.

We stayed here for 1 night on our first day of our motorbike tour from hanoi to hcmc. Unfortunately the weather in the north wasn't that good at the time, so we decided to drive more or less directly southward. But would we have known beforehand how beautiful Mai Chau is and how great the accommodation is we definitely would have stayed longer. The owner and host Ngan and her little family are so nice and friendly people. The bungalow was spacious, spotless clean with a beautiful view directly over the rice fields from the little balcony in front. Everything is also quite new and there was absolutely nothing for us to complain. Ngan cooked us a delicious dinner and a great breakfast too. Thanks to google translate and basic English communication was absolutely no problem and she did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The location is quite and absolutely beautiful too. We could not be happier with our choice staying our first night after a quite stressful day here at Ngan Homestay. We can highly recommend staying here to everyone coming to Mai Chau.

The Mai Chau Hillside Homestay was the best homestay we stayed in until now during our trip through Vietnam. The accommodation is at an excellent location, with a magnificent view on the rice fields in the valley. Our bungalow was spotlessly clean and provided al comfort we wanted. Ngan and her family made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. A great breakfast was served and we enjoyed an amazing dinner all three evenings that we were there (for a very moderate price). When we went on a hike and also on the day we left , Ngan surprised us by providing a lunch package with local specialties like purple potatoes and bamboo rice. She also organised the transport to our next destination. Thank you so much 🙏 If we ever come to Vietnam again, we’ll come back 😀

I would highly recommend to everyone to stay in Mai Chau Hillside Homestay. For me, the location is perfect (not in the right center of Ban Lac with a lot of people but still not far away), and the bungalow is nice, clean, and full of equipment with a rice field in front of it. The black chicken hotpot is delicious at a good price. The most important is the host is absolutely friendly and helpful.

I couldn’t have imagined a more wonderful stay. Ngan and her family were fantastic hosts! The sincere kindness and level of hospitality was remarkable. The accommodation was perfect with a spacious room, hot shower, delicious breakfast, and a scenic view over the rice fields from the patio. Ngan can provide bicycles and can also assist with any other transportation request.

Lovely new bungalow overlooking the rice fields and mountains. A perfect location for a quiet break, some fresh air and an opportunity to absorb the local scenery and culture. Hostess Ngân welcomed us upon our arrival. She was always very keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. Ngân provided a laundry service and cooked some delicious breakfasts and dinners each day - which saved having to walk to the other local restaurants. And also provided a taste of local food using freshly produced ingredients. Bikes were provided to allow you cycle around the rice fields and discover the small villages and meet the very friendly locals. The homestay is located within a small group of houses which allowed interaction with the locals which added to the enjoyment of the experience. The room was spotlessly clean with a large toilet/bathroom. A highly recommended homestay when visiting Mai Cháu.
