Reviewed Jun 3, 2026The host was so lovely she even let us check in early as we had a wedding to attend. The place was great has everything we needed and was very quirky - the bedrooms were very nice and beds comfy and the location was perfect close to TGA CBD
There wasn’t anything outstanding or anything not to like - it did smell a bit musty to begin with but that didn’t affect our stay

For the cost of our stay and the images we anticipated more ~ the access door was open, unlocked on arrival, the home was very cold & it took long time to warm up (Kitchen didn't) ~ there was no milk available for tea/coffee, nor enough coffee for the weekend with 3 adults staying ~ there was cigarette but but by the entrance steps (thankfully home was smokefree smell) ~ there was the vine of a bunch of grapes left on a bedside table & hair evident on the same bedside table ~ there was the strong smell of aftershave on a pillow You come to anticipate non terrestrial viewing options being available, not so ~ thankfully partner knows how to set us up remotely, benefitting the next guest for few hours Didn't like the idea of the owners being across the street, felt less private (potential to see into living space/main bedroom) We would have preferred to have written this directly to the Host, were unable to do so as all coms remained via FB

Reviewed Feb 4, 2025A pleasant house that was convenient for transport into the CBD. Plenty of room for one with all of the expected amenities. A good base for exploring Tauranga.
Like most NZ houses, it had a tendency to overheat in the summer, opening all the doors and windows was a must on the hotter days. Only one bathroom, which included the toilet - not an issue for a single traveler but could require a rosta for a family or group of friends.

Reviewed Jan 10, 2025Lovely house, big rooms, comfy beds, nice interior and even Netflix etc on TV. Old furniture but that's gives it a special touch. Instructions were clear and easy and communication with the hosts was super nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
There was a nail sticking out of the couch just on ankle height that my partner cut himself on. But he's put it back in so should be all fine now.
