The dirt roads are very rough. The main rare road through Narloth park has no lightening and people walk in the dark to thd bus abd taxi rank making this quite a dangerous trip. The village needs a safe walkway with low lighting for pedestrians.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026We found that the kitchen was not particularly well equipped, with very limited utensils, plates, cups, glasses and serving dishes available. We were also quite surprised to find a note on the wall stating that guests had to wash their own dishes or risk receiving a fine. We understood that this was a self-catering unit, but the notice came across as rather odd and unwelcoming. In the end, we didn’t wash the dishes ourselves and were not charged any fine, which made the warning seem even more confusing.

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026This is a lovely spacious cottage for a couple or small family. We spend most of the time outside with animals that come to visit the boma area. The kitchen was very spacious for a holiday unit. The location of the property next to Crocodile River was great for viewing the Elephants coming down to drink.
Note there is a gravel road to the Unit. You need a high clearance vehicle.

The bed from the 2nd room was not comfortable, it squeaks a lot when u turn to the other side, the sheets (white sheets) from the other room had dirty stains on it, the extra sheet in the Waldrop smelled bad with stains. Spider webs in both bedrooms (corners of side tables)

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026The booking process was smooth and hassle-free, which we appreciated. The house itself is well equipped and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, a few aspects affected our experience. Having to collect the key at the security office caused delays, and unfortunately, we missed the shop's trading hours as a result, which was inconvenient after travelling. There was also a noticeable mould smell in the house. While you do become accustomed to it over time, it definitely needs attention, as it raises concerns about overall comfort and health. With a few improvements, particularly addressing the mould issue and streamlining the check-in process, this could be a really great stay.
We don’t mind doing the dishes or leaving the house neat and tidy — that’s standard and something we always do. However, being required to remove the trash and drive it to the gate ourselves felt a bit excessive, especially as there wasn’t an additional black bag provided in the house. It’s a small thing, but it does detract from the overall guest experience and could be easily improved.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026The house is located in a bush,its has everything needed. The peace 👌 The coziness The cleanliness 👌 and the bonus was the pool that you don't share with anyone and the boma. Most of all i enjoyed watching animals walking around while driving. I will definitely come back.
The road was terrible due to floods so we had a struggle because we were driving a small car hence we arrived late and didn't enjoy our place that much.

El jardin es mas pequeño de lo que parece en las fotos . La ducha es casi imposible de regular: o agua fria o agua hirviendo.

Great location with many animals coming up to the braai area but private enough that you have your own space. The outside area is great to sit outside and feel like you’re on holiday.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2026DO NOT STAY HERE – EXTREMELY UNSAFE This was one of the most terrifying accommodation experiences of my life. While sleeping at Edjami Guesthouse, someone actively tried to break in. This is not speculation — we have video footage, which is attached. After the incident, the owners admitted that there have been previous break-in attempts before us, and if you check LekkerSlaap, you will see another review mentioning a burglary. This is clearly an ongoing safety issue, not a once-off event. We were so frightened that we left on Christmas evening and had to find alternative accommodation immediately. I was staying with my 5-year-old son. Had the intruders succeeded, we could have been held at knife or gunpoint. This was not just uncomfortable — it was genuinely life-threatening. Despite the trauma, we tried to be reasonable. We offered to pay for two nights even though we only stayed one, and requested a refund for the remaining two nights we did not use. The owner refused to refund us anything. No empathy. No accountability. There is an alarm light visible from outside, yet the intruders were not phased at all, likely because the security company is far away, and the roads leading to the guesthouse are in terrible condition, making response times slow. This is also mentioned in previous reviews. If you are considering staying here, Google crime and murder statistics in Marloth Park before booking. We lodged a formal complaint with Booking.com, and even they acknowledged how serious this was by giving us credit as compensation for the experience. As someone who has previously been held at gunpoint, I do not say this lightly: do not book here if you value your safety or your family’s safety. Photos and video evidence are available.

La piscine est de dimension d’un jacuzzi , et c’est dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de machine à café.

De receptie van de sleutel is ca 10 minuten rijden.

Reviewed Oct 4, 2025Tolle Lage in einem Naturschutzgebiet, wo Tiere und Menschen friedvoll zusammenleben. Sehr schöne Einrichtung, tolle Dusche, eine Ruheoase. Betten sehr bequem, alles gut organisiert und erklärt. Tiere haben uns im Vorgarten besucht:)
Es wäre super, wenn noch einfache Gewürze wie Salz und Pfeffer zur Verfügung stehen würden. Das würde das Kochen erleichtern:)

Reviewed Oct 2, 2025This was a very modern and well decorated little home, just perfect for our little family for two nights stay while we visited the Kruger during the day. Michelle was very responsive and incredibly helpful. While the cottage is very small, we didn’t need much more. The cottage has basically everything you need and very close to the crocodile River. The animals come straight up to the house, as they’re being fed. The tiny pool was welcoming to cool ourselves down on the first day. It was very warm.
Marloth Park wasn’t what I expected. It seemed a bit crowded, houses are very close together and they seem to struggle with power outages quite often. They have small shops, but I find it better to bring all your stuff in and top up from the small shops rather

Marloth Park itself can get very busy but the house is far enough away from the main roads and just a short walk the fence where the Crocodile River runs. The house was clean but missing one or two small items. Beds were comfortable. I love the no noise rule so it keeps it as a proper bush experience.
A small suggestion…The property should offer a cleaning service for when you leave at an optional extra cost. Guests should be given this option. Some of the items were not washed properly by previous guests which is one of the consequences of this. This is really not a major issue. Just a suggestion.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2025Michelle is friendly, accommodating and helpful at all times. She has a lovely mannerism. The house is nestled privately in the heart of the bush. Modern built with beautiful african interior and quality bedding. Two lovely bedrooms, bathroom with a shower, kitchen with all needed amenities, and living area with large glass sliding doors. The place gives one a 'home away from home' feel. The swimming pool on a patio setting, together with air conditioning inside, makes it an even more wonderful stay. It is nice to cool down after coming back from a game drive in the Kruger nearby. You get spoiled by the many wildlife sightings within the park: kudus, warthogs, duikers, 'Bambi' deer, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, velvet monkeys, bush babies, etc. The walking/4x4 trail next to the Kruger fence, alongside the Crocodile River, is any sunrise and sunset lover's dream! The property provides safe parking and a boma/braai area to enjoy those bushfire evenings. A 10/10 recommendation.

Reviewed May 31, 2025Beautiful guest house in excellent location in Marloth Park. We could easily walk to watch animals in Kruger by the river. Clean, king-size comfortable beds in each bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped and we loved the outdoor space!
We had to wash our own dishes. Rather charge guests extra upfront for the service. Shower also ran either extremely hot or very cold after a few minutes.

The lights were very bright and clinical making it harder to relax. The outside space is very dusty and the mat to wipe your feet was so dirty that sand and mud got into the house too quickly. Kept having to clean down. At night we heard a lot of noises and an outside motion sensor light kept coming on. It made us feel a little unsettled about safety and so didn't sleep very well.
