Booked this due to lots of Misleading reviews which are mostly insisted by the management. Room was very compact unlike in pictures. And once you open balcony for fresh air, there is lots of vehicle sound & pollution due to road just at the side. Pool is very small sized unlike shown in pictures. They are charging 100 dollars for the property worth of 50 dollars .. better think twice before coming here.

L'hôtel est bien situé, en dehors de la zone touristique de Ella. La vue sur les plantations de thé est incroyable. Le personnel est charmant. Nous avons testé le massage ayurvédique : excellent !

L'hôtel est situé au bord de la route. Nous avons entendu la circulation dès 6h du matin...les chambres ne sont pas bien isolées.

Les vistes espectaculars, el personal molt atent en tot moment i el menjar ha estat espectacular! Hem partit molt contents.

The pictures were not too clear, the surroundings were not posted, it's just a standalone shoplot building. Breakfast needs major improvement - no varieties. Other hotels are providing huge varieties for the same price. Snacks in the room are not complementary.

The property is located far from Ella city center, with no nearby access to delivery services or markets, which makes basic convenience quite limited. In addition, the kitchen is positioned very close to the guest rooms, resulting in cooking smells spreading into the accommodation area. There were also issues with insects in the room, including cockroaches. Privacy was another concern, as noise from outside conversations and laughter could be clearly heard inside the rooms. The Wi-Fi connection was extremely poor and unreliable, making it impossible to stream or comfortably watch movies during the stay. Service delays were also experienced, with food taking approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. Due to the long wait, one dish had to be cancelled. The staff did try to apologize and were responsive, even coming to the room to address the insect issue. While the manager and receptionist were kind and professional, the compensation offered by the owner was limited to a $10 discount for the poor internet experience, which felt insufficient given the overall issues encountered.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at the place. Visited with a bunch of friends for a few nights. The rooms were so well kept and really comfortable. AC and hot water were perfect. The pool was maintained well and food was superb. The best of all to be honest though was the staff. All members were really friendly and always looked to help out whenever they can. All in all, made our visit to Bandarawela absolutely amazing. Keep it up team.

I recently stayed at Luxor Hotel and had a really pleasant experience overall. The service was especially noteworthy—Shirvin, Adithya, and Isuru were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. They made sure everything was smooth and comfortable, always going the extra mile with a smile.The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and offered a good overall atmosphere. While there may be small areas for improvement, the excellent service truly stood out and made my visit enjoyable. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely consider staying here again!

Clean, fresh and luxury.

Noise, as it was close to the main road, it was but noisy throughout the day and early morning. It is also kirindi Ella not Ella, we were bit oblivious during booking and mistakenly booked this instead of Ella. Besides, there are no nearby shops or restaurants except the hotel dine-in. But Bandarawela town is just 15-20 minutes and you can explore nice food shops there. The TV is not a smart TV so you can only watch local channels or discovery. No Netflix!

We had a wonderful stay at Luxor Kirindi Ella. The location is excellent and offers great value for money. Our room was very comfortable, and the views were absolutely stunning, we were amazed by the beautiful scenery. We also visited Aura Spa and enjoyed some excellent massages. Both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Great Value Stay A very good value for money stay. Slightly away from Ella town, but reachable within 30 minutes if you have transport. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Highly recommended.

We are writing to file a formal complaint regarding our current stay, which was booked through Booking.com. Unfortunately, our stay has been significantly affected by a constant noise issue. The hotel has a pump running 24 hours a day, producing loud and continuous noise directly affecting our room. As a result, we have been unable to sleep properly during our stay. We reported the issue to the hotel immediately. The staff confirmed that they are aware of the problem but informed us that they are unable to do anything to fix it. This level of constant noise is unacceptable and does not correspond to reasonable accommodation standards. Since the issue has made the stay unbearable, we are requesting a refund for the last 3 nights out of the 4 nights booked.

The price-quality ratio of the room is excellent. For this price, it was a very pleasant experience. We visited the hotel at a time when there had just been floods in Sri Lanka, and the staff were very helpful in providing instructions and making sure that everything was fine for us. The staff were really wonderful overall! The location is nice, on a hillside. As far as I know, there weren’t any restaurants nearby, but since we had a rental car, we could easily drive elsewhere. There is also a pool and sun loungers available.

It‘s not in Ella but quite far away. There is nothing in vicinity. It rained so it was quite boring. The rooms was clean, there was hair in the shower and generally the bathroom was not a 10/10.

Het ligt wat ver van alles vandaan, maar dit wisten we. Daarentegen erg rustig en midden in de mooie natuur.

het ontbijt start om 7u30. uitdrukkelijk gevraagd de avond voordien. Toen we stipt om 7u30 s'morgens in het ontbijt aankwamen was er niemand, stond nog niets klaar en was er nog niets voorbereid. Aangezien we een strak reisshema hadden zijn we een uur later pas kunnen vertrekken dan normaal gepland en hebben we het nogal slechte ontbijt moeten binnen slokken.

Było bardzo czysto, obsługa na najwyższym poziomie. Wszyscy byli bardzo mili i uprzejmi a na największą pochwałę zasługuje kelner z restauracji o imieniu Janushan. Jedzenie było rewelacyjne, bardzo smaczne a pozycja w menu ,,Naan” zasługuje na największą pochwałę. Mieliśmy pokój z wanną i był piękny, na dole w strefie spa znajdował się basen. Polecam :)

Rooms need sound proofing. We didn't sleep well due to noise from neighbouring hotel. Also, breakfast was average. Baked beans were served cold, the waffles were not fresh. Presentation was fantastic. It's not a 4 star hotel. 3 star at best. It's not really a hotel - more a bed and breakfast.

Le Restaurant propose divers plats qui sont très bons et surtout , il y a une vue magnifique depuis les chambres sur les plantations de thé, les collines, l’endroit est vraiment magnifique ! Il y a aussi un spa super avec de très bons soins. Nous y avons fêté les anniversaires de papa et de ma petite sœur, le personnel a été adorable, a préparé un gâteau d’anniversaire et décoré la chambre. Luxor kirindi ella resort is a beautifully designed hotel -stylish, thoughtfully decorated, and visually impressive. The room facilities were also great. On the bright side,great value for money.isuru and all the staff were lovely, helpful and welcoming.The food was fresh and tasty.the food was exceptional-both breakfast and dinner were à la carte, delicious, and beautifully presented. I would rate the kitchen a solid 10/10. The staff were also kind and helpful.

A menina da receção era muito simpática e sabia bem receber quem chegava a unidade hoteleira. Os quartos estavam limpos e eram muito confortáveis. A comida do restaurante do hotel era variada e muito boa. A internet funcionava impecavelmente.

O serviço de restaurante era demorado. Pusemos roupa a lavar na lavandaria e algumas peças encolheram e outras vieram manchadas. Ficamos por duas noites e num dos pequenos almoços, o pão tinha um pouco de bolor na borda.

Our shower door did not close properly, which is surprising for a four-star hotel. Because the shower enclosure was poorly fitted, the bathroom flooded. The menu prices did not match the amounts shown on the payment terminal, which is very unprofessional for a hotel of this standard. We only noticed because we paid in cash — I wonder how many guests paying by card didn't notice and were overcharged. The staff apologized and corrected our bill, but these mistakes should not happen. Someone needs to thoroughly check the menu pricing.

The hotel itself, in my opinion, is not for a 4-star rating. It would be a good 3-star hotel, but the hotel wasn't thought out properly, and in my case, I could not open the bathroom door fully, and the shower was leaking from underneath onto the bathroom floor.

Die Zimmer waren sehr modern und komfortabel eingerichtet. Der Pool war sauber und schön. Das Team war rundum darum bedacht, auf unsere Wünsche einzugehen. Auch das Essen war sehr lecker!

Unterhalb des Hotels verläuft eine Straße, die mitunter sehr laut ist. Zudem fährt man etwa 30 Minuten bis nach Ella, was in die Tagesplanung einkalkuliert werden sollte. Das Personal war bemüht uns einen Scooter zu vermitteln, was aber leider nicht klappte. Außerdem fiel das WLAN immer wieder aus, was den Komfort etwas schmälerte.

Het hotel heeft een prachtige ligging op een berg met een heel mooi uitzicht. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en het avondeten was echt ontzettend lekker!

Hoewel dit een 4-sterren hotel is vonden wij het eerder 2 of 3 sterren. De kamers hebben een mooi uitzicht en zijn schoon maar een shabby / smoezelige uitstraling. Het ontbijt zou om 7 uur open zijn maar dat was niet zo. Hierdoor konden we niet meer ontbijten voordat we naar Ella Rock gingen. Ze hebben zich hier wel meerdere keren voor geëxcuseerd en ter compensatie ‘avonds snacks voor ons gemaakt. Hoewel in de naam van het hotel Ella staat ligt het in een andere plaats. Het is zeker een half uur rijden naar Ella.

Location was a little far out from Ella. Main living room connecting the rooms had a security camera which was a little uncomfortable. There was an incident during our dinner where a glass door was broken which was left open during the night.

The property was clean, with a beautiful view and a pool! Nice bathrooms and good beds! The staff was incredibly helpful to provide us information on our day trips to Ella and Haputale, especially a big thanks to Maheshi! In the evenings after the day trips, we spent time at the pool and ordered bites from the kitchen. Good Sri Lankan food. Thanks to Hashan for serving us and checking in on us during our stay! We had breakfast one day and dinner another day! Good mix of Sri Lankan and continental!

We advised the staff to have more coat hangers and some lights in the hallway. Else the stay was superb!

Our stay at Luxor Kirindi Ella was truly unforgettable! Nestled in Bandarawela, between Ella and Haputale, the location was ideal for exploring the region. The staff were exceptionally warm and accommodating, going above and beyond to offer great local tips and assistance. Our room was impeccably clean, with a cozy bed and breathtaking views of the mist-covered mountains. The breakfast was outstanding. We absolutely loved our experience and would choose Luxor Kirindi Ella again without hesitation!

It was a very nice experience and the staff was so much friendly and supportive. We were warmly welcomed, and the food and beverages were superb, specially the breakfast. Mr. Raveesh gave us a good service and finally we can recommend this place for a lovely stay at Bandarawela.

Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Transport was really difficult, some of it due to new year but I would say only stay here if you had your own transport.

The hotel and the staff were friendly, in terms of space the 3 bedroom appartement was great for a family of 5 with 3 bedrooms. One problem with the rooms was that it was near impossible to take a shower. It was either absolutely boiling or… absolutely boiling. Apparently some new heating system which pressure is too high to let the cold water through as mains are fairly low pressure. We were told to let cold water run 40 seconds but didnt solve. One slight annoyance after the first day out all day was that no one cleaned the room. We can leave without but also meant no bottles of water provided. In terms on swimming pool, what the photo doesn’t show is that it is just over a main road it was not in Ella, but 30 minutes away, which was not a problem for us with our driver guide. The big problem was dinners. We are literally talking about 1h wait for a pasta, when we were the only guests. And none of the dished arrived remotely st the same time (again we are talking of possibly 40 minutes after the first 1h wait for everyone to be served) On the second night they warned me that my curry would take 30 minutes, which i agreed was fine as needed lots of prep, but what they didn’t tell us is they wouldn’t even start cooking for the rest of the family before mine was served, so my daughter had to wait 1h for penne al pesto…. After my 30 minutes! And this was the same every 3 nights, but you dont have a choice as hotel is too remote to go somewhere else. They need to sort this!

Being asked what time and what we want for breakfast the evening before. Staff generally seemed very new but were very happy and willing to help. Hotel is rather remote from restaurants and so you need to have transport if going out in the evening.

The only good thing was the staff, they were friendly and helpful throughout and they really tried to improve our situation but unfortunately it was out of their hands.

Where do we start? The biggest issue is that we booked a ‘Standard double’ room based off the images on Booking.com, when we checked into the hotel the room looked nothing like those images and it smelt of damp. They moved us to another room after we complained which was marginally better but still not like what was in the pictures. On the morning after our first night we spoke to a new person on reception and she admitted they use the same pictures from the more luxurious rooms for the standard double. They offered us to move to one of their better rooms for the second night but at this point it was too little too late - we are currently asking for a refund through booking.com The breakfast is Al A Carte which is fine but the vegetarian options are limited. I asked for a vegetarian breakfast and literally got two mushrooms and some scrambled eggs (see photo). To top it off, they would take our towels in the morning but wouldn’t replace them- just annoying! Just to let you know, the pool is also a lot more underwhelming than the pictures show. Finally, the location is bad (this is a bit on us, we should have checked). In the name it is ‘Luxor Kirindi Ella’ - the hotel is over 30mins from Ella!!

The facilities and set up are brilliant. This is one of the most modern places you’ll find if you’re wanting something near Ella, however this is NOT in Ella. It’s about 30 mins out of the center.

Location is a bit deceiving, although not an issue as we had a tour guide, if you’re travelling without one this is not an ideal location to stay.

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help. They provided a delicious breakfast and dinner at the dining hall with a lovely view. The location was convenient and easy to access. The rooms were spacious, new and clean, we slept very comfortably.

The rooms need a bit of improvement: fix the leaking shower, we had a wet bathroom the whole time. This wasn’t a pleasant experience. There needs to be better ventilation (like an exhaust fan) in the bathroom. Needed hand towels and bath mats. The sink taps, toilet roll holder and towel hooks were not fixed properly. The toilet roll holder came off completely. The bedroom needed heating and better storage (hooks, coat hangers, bed side table on all sides. There was plenty of space but it wasn’t used efficiently.

One of the best rooms we stayed in during our trip. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Nice big, comfy bed - slept really well. Staff were very helpful and tried their best. Even sent my glasses to our next hotel by courier!

Lovely room with beautiful Mountain views. All new and clean facilities with a pool (although much smaller than the photos suggest and very cold). Comfortable extra large bed, lovely bedding, all very clean. Warm and friendly staff.

No hand towels, face and bath towels only and nowhere to hang them when wet. No mirror in the room. No hot water on day one so showered in cold water, blocked drain so bathroom flooded. Staff seemingly indifferent to the discomfort and disappointment caused, although they kept smiling. No housekeeping so returned at the end of the day to dirty cups & glasses, bed unmade, no fresh towels, cleaning etc. Asked to pay the bill before we had even checked into or seen the room and Manager unable to produce an invoice. Staff were pleasant and friendly but no leadership or initiative and clearly profit is at the heart of this hotels focus rather than customer care.

Nice room but terrible service. Took a whole hour to get a cup of tea and we ended up going up to our room to get water after an hour's wait. Lovely hotel but clear that they haven't got a clue about the restaurant/hotel business.
