A beautiful and Valuable Location.

We are return visitors to Sri Lanka and Kandy, and can recommend this as the best place to stay in the entire nation. Tremendously good value. Jaliya and Sharma, our hosts, are the kindest, warmest people you could hope to encounter. Nothing was ever too difficult. They assisted with arranging transport, and even facilitating and hosting our local friends for an extended day visit to their home, Sharma consistently provided the most AMAZING food, and Jaliya was always on hand to assist with laughing, philosophical, historical and cultural discussions. There home is very clean, beautiful and surrounded by verdant gardens. It is a short distance from the busy streets of Kandy, in a quiet area where you will experience the friendliness of an authentic Sri Lankan neighbourhood. Do yourself a favour and book to stay here. We had the pleasure of staying here for 9 days, but wished it was for 90 days. Thank you Jaliya and Sharma, we miss you already.

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt! Jaliya und seine Frau sind unglaublich herzlich und haben uns sofort willkommen fühlen lassen. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber, das Bett sehr bequem. Die Unterkunft liegt wunderbar ruhig und im Grünen, perfekt zum Entspannen. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, dafür aber einen Ventilator, der für uns völlig ausreichend war. Sehr praktisch ist auch der Parkplatz direkt auf dem Grundstück – ideal, da wir mit dem Tuk Tuk unterwegs waren. Kandy ist in etwa 30 Minuten erreichbar, was super ist, um Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen (z. B. mit PickMe problemlos möglich). Alles in allem lohnt sich diese Unterkunft absolut – vor allem wegen der ruhigen Lage, der Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber und dem unschlagbaren Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Ein kleiner Hinweis: Die Straße zur Unterkunft ist auf den letzten 350 m sehr steil. Mit dem Tuk Tuk im ersten Gang aber gut machbar.

Wir haben eine Nacht dort verbracht. Es war ein wunderschöner ruhiger Rückzugsort auf einem Berg, abseits des Trubels von Kandy. Das Dinner und Frühstück war sehr lecker und ist zu empfehlen. Die Gastgeber sind super lieb und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

I had the pleasure of staying at KANDY HOME STAY with my family for a night during our holiday in Sri Lanka, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the house owner welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality. His cordial and friendly nature made us feel at home instantly, and we truly enjoyed his company throughout our stay. In terms of services, I can say without hesitation that everything was excellent. The guest house is beautifully located on top of a hill, offering breathtaking scenic views and a wonderfully quiet environment. The morning view, in particular, was simply unimaginable and left us in awe. The interior of the home is uniquely decorated, creating a cozy and charming atmosphere. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay, it was both delicious and authentically Sri Lankan. I especially loved the Lemon Coffee, which was a new experience for me, unique, refreshing, and very tasty! Overall, our short stay at KANDY HOME STAY was nothing less than perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all travelers from Bangladesh and around the world who plan to visit Kandy. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Wenn man nach nur zwei Tagen beim Abschied fast Tränen in den Augen hat, haben die Host alles richtig gemacht 🤗💕 Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem Guesthouse! ✨ Schon beim Ankommen haben wir uns sofort familiär willkommen gefühlt. Die zauberhaften Hosts sind unglaublich zuvorkommend, herzlich und immer bemüht, den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Wer das Gespräch sucht und offen ist kann hier ganz viele nette und interessante Gespräche führen, und viel über Land und Leute erfahren und/oder selbst erzählen. Danke Jaliya für die tollen Gespräche. 😀 Die Zimmer und das gesamte Haus sind sehr sauber und gepflegt, man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Trotz der Nähe zur Großstadt ist es hier überraschend ruhig und sehr grün – perfekt, um nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag zu entspannen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das ausgezeichnete Frühstück und Dinner: frisch, lokal, abwechslungsreich und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Property is Cozy and well maintained by the owners. I personally liked the owners and i have been calling them Uncle and aunty ever since i visited the property. Felt like a home and if you are planning for a couple stay or a family stay, i would definitely recommend this home stay as this is not one of the best, but The best we have stayed. It is super clean. We can chit chat with the owners and have breakfast and dinner together, watch tv. And they are very kind and one of the most down to earth persons I have come across. All sight seeing places are near from this stay. Uncle is available 24/7 and helpful. Highly recommend guys. Book it now as you dont feel away from your home.

Jaliya and Shama welcomed us in as family. We felt really cared for and their interest in talking with us was genuine and enjoyable. J & S have a very natural ease in hosting and their house is exquisite. Our 10 year old son LOVED staying here because of all the army memorabilia. While the house is not so central, it is blissfully quiet and off the busy roads. We loved the feeling of being on the top of the hill. We ate in breakfast and dinner. Shama is the best cook in all of Sri Lanka I'm sure of it!!

The house was very cozy and clean and the balcony was perfect for a chill night. Our room was spacious, with a private bathroom equipped with everything you might need. The beds were extremely comfortable which was perfect after a long travel. The hosts were the sweetest, so kind and helpful. Incredible hospitality!! I wish we could’ve stayed longer with them.

The best accommodation we had over our 17 days in Sri Lanka. It was an extremely clean and nice house in a quiet neighborhood with a charismatic owner who talked with us about everything and took absolute care about our needs. Uniquely cute stay, thank you 🙂

All we can say is WOW! This was not only the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka, it might be the best we’ve stayed anywhere. The room and property were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. But what truly made it special were the hosts, Jaliya and Shama. They were incredibly kind and helpful, Jaliya met us on the road when we arrived after dark and even helped us find a mechanic the next day for our tuk-tuk. Shama’s cooking was absolutely amazing! The best meals we had in Sri Lanka and we loved our conversations over dinner. Couldn’t recommend this place more! Thanks for everything! Emma & Albert

This is the most wonderful family we have met on the entire island, and their home makes you feel like you are with family and at home. Such wonderful people, they were kind to us and treated us with great love as if we were children! And the food that my wife cooks is simply better than any restaurant! We left there with tears in our eyes, and we will definitely come back! The tears were from happiness and endless gratitude for such a welcome and such support that they gave us! The house itself is amazing, located right in the mountains and the air and the views from the balcony were so harmonizing and setting us up for the most wonderful journey and feelings! With the warmth and love that they gave us, we go even more fulfilled and happier! And the house itself is delightful, so many details and history in it! I recommend everyone to get into this heavenly, amazing house filled with love and light!

This is not just a homestay; it's a truly inviting home. The hosts, Sir and Ma’am, have a beautiful property that harmonizes with nature and tranquility. Their house is exceptionally clean, which adds to its charm. Once we arrived in Kandy, we didn't feel the need to leave the property. We are grateful to Ma’am for the wonderful breakfast and meals. We had an absolutely fantastic time at Kandy home stay. Jaliya and Shama were the kindest hosts we’ve stayed in 3 months of travelling Sri Lanka. The house is absolutely immaculate and you have access to a wonderful balcony set in nature. The facilities are excellent and the highest standard we have experienced since leaving the U.K. I highly recommend visiting Kandy home stay.

We had the most wonderful stay! The uncle and aunt went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. From the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful little touches throughout our stay, it was clear that they genuinely cared about their guests. The room was spotless, beautifully arranged, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing experience. The hospitality was exceptional—whether it was answering our questions, helping with recommendations, or just checking in to ensure we were happy, they made us feel right at home. The meals were absolutely delicious—every dish was bursting with flavor and made with such care. It felt like a true culinary experience! The combination of exceptional hospitality and amazing food made this stay unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to come back!

I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of services provided. Both hosts went above & beyond to make certain of my stay is comfortable and treated me like a family member. I felt at home but still have the privacy. Excellent value for money.

I could not find anything negative, except a little bit hard to find the location as the road is a laneway. However, the host Jaliya was always available to arrange transport, give directions or meet the guest on the main road to bring home on the first day.

It's really wonderful place for any one like to stay. Place is clam and beautiful. Will visit again and again.

Host was warm and welcoming. Had the courtesy of calling me to check if I would be okay with finding the property. Offered me drinks upon arrival. In the morning, they said they would provide me a little breakfast, only to find out it was a big breakfast! I really appreciated their hospitality! The room and private bathroom was clean, spacious with high ceilings. Bed was either king or queen size. Also was given permission to use the balcony with views of nature and hummingbirds in the morning. All in all. I highly recommend.

The property is 4 miles from city centre however it's not a issue. Just something to be aware of. As the host said - 'that's why its called country side homestay.

Excellent hotel. Great service The room was very spacious, clean, superb washroom and had the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious and with many choices; The owners were very helpful, not just on checkin and checkout, but also in giving directions on locations. The location is great- would recommend to friends, and will definitely stay again if Im back in Kandy.
