Gerards Home stay Fortkochi

Très bien situé au centre de FortKochi et en même temps en retrait de la rue donc au calme. Ce homestay de 3 chambres est comme un appartement avec un balcon, un salon et une cuisine aménagée et table pour manger à plusieurs. Gérard est un hôte très sympathique qui connaît très bien le coin, les bons plans et qui est toujours de bons conseils. Vraiment un très chouette « camp de base » à FortKochi. On recommande !

The hosts were really friendly and helpful. The location of the stay was quite close to most of the tourist places in Fort Kochi. It was a really amazing and peaceful getaway.

Everything! There is nothing to not like about this place! Joyson and Valsa are amazing and even though we only stayed 1 night, made us so welcome. We wanted to stay longer and hope to come back very soon. The apartment has a great feel to it and the balcony is soooo peaceful. Best shower in Kerala!! Kitchen with everything you’d need. Great big thank you to Valsa for the ginger tea that helped my cold! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I had a relaxed stay and would recommend this homestay to anyone who prefers a quiet sanctuary with wonderful and gracious hosts like Gerad and Valsa.

Nice view from the balcony, spacious rooms, very friendly host family, drinking water available (filtered), quiet, great tip for ayurveda massage place from owner.

Cleanliness of room (bedside table) and bathroom could have been better. There's a call to prayer at 5.30 AM which woke me up every day (this is no fault of the homestay, though).

Hartelijke eigenaren die het je naar je zin willen maken. Prima locatie, waardoor alles goed te bereiken is. De gemeenschappelijke keuken en zitkamer zijn uitstekend en er is ook een balkon waar je lekker kunt zitten. Het bed en de douche zijn prima! Hoewel er geen ontbijt wordt geserveerd, zijn er diverse restaurantjes in de buurt waar je prima kunt ontbijten. We kunnen dit adres in Fort Kochi dan ook ten zeerste aanbevelen!

Stay here!! Gerard was so helpful we had no plan of what we were going to do and he helped us and gave us so much information. Super spacious room and clean bathroom. Right in the centre of Fort Kochi. Look no further and book this place.

Definitely one of the cleanest places I have stayed in India! The host family is extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They even offered to iron clothes! Location is central, price is super reasonable. I highly recommend to anyone who visits Kochi.

Gerard's Homestay was hele fijn plek! Ik reisde alleen maar op deze plek heb je als je dat wilt makkelijk contact. Met de andere reizigers en zeker met Gerard en zijn vrouw. Zij waren zo aardig en behulpzaam ; een warm bad. Wat ik ook heel fijn vond was het balkon dat uitkeek op de heerlijke tuin, waar je allerlei vogels in hoorden zingen.

echt tegen vallen niet maar misschien n bedlampje aan de muur? maar dat was ook echt t enige!!!

Dès notre arrivée, l’accueil a été tout simplement exceptionnel : Gérard et sa famille sont incroyablement serviables, toujours disponibles, et vraiment aux petits soins. On se sent tout de suite comme à la maison. Tout le monde est adorable, avec un vrai sens de l’hospitalité : beaucoup de sourires, de gentillesse, et une envie sincère d’aider à chaque moment. Joyson is een geweldige host die je oprecht thuis laat voelen. Hij denkt graag met je mee om je verblijf in kochi tot een succes te maken. De guesthouse is van alle gemakken voorzien. Er is een keuken en koelkast die je kan gebruiken. Ook is er een leuk balkon met uitzicht op zijn groene tuin. We zullen zeker terugkeren. De guest house ligt op een fantastische locatie om fort kochi perfect te kunnen ontdekken.

Gerards Homestay is a wonderful place to stay in a great location. Gerard and his wife were incredibly welcoming and gave us excellent tips during our visit. The room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a lovely short stay and felt the price–value relationship was excellent. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

After extensive research for quality budget lodging in Kochi, Gerard’s Homestay consistently stood out, and after staying here, I completely understand why. The glowing reviews about Gerard and his wife are absolutely deserved. Within just two days, I told Gerard his homestay had surpassed my expectations. The value is exceptional; I truly don’t think you can find better accommodations for the price in Kochi. While not a luxury property, it met all my needs perfectly. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with a desk for working and a rack with hangers. The property is in a safe, quiet area, and the WiFi was strong and fast, making video calls and remote work seamless. What truly makes this place special, though, is Gerard and his wife. They are incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring hosts who make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. Our conversations about life, family, and India were a highlight of my stay, and their kindness made my time in Kochi truly memorable. I have no doubt this is the best homestay in Kochi. I had the best time with Valsala and Gerard ! They are so welcoming, helpfull, with such a good heart. I wish I could stay longer with them. Their house is well located, in a quiet street, with trees, and a balcony. Everything is clean, bed is confortable, filtered water and fridge are available. Valsala offered me massala chai every morning, Gerard helped me to book my train ticket. Next time i’ll come to Kerala i will surely pass by to say hello ! Thanks for everything 🙏🏼 Namaskaram

We arrived really tired after the trip to India, and Gerard organised a TukTuk tour for us and got us tickets for the Kathakali performance that evening. He had good recommendations, and helped us make the most out of our short stay

We loved our stay at Gerard and Valsa's. Their genuine warmth and hospitality provided the perfect introduction to our time in Kerala. The room was comfortable (including with the extra bed for our young son) and everything is spotlessly clean. The hot water is very reliable, the shared kitchen was useful for reheating food and filling water bottles and there is even a sofa in the shared living space for relaxing. The terrace and garden were an oasis of calm. The homestay is about 15 minute walk from lots of great cafés and restaurants. Gerard and Valsa went above and beyond to make our family feel at home and we had such a special stay.

Joyson was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate my early morning arrival and departure. He provided invaluable travel tips, including navigating public transport and planning must-visit places in Kochi and broader Kerala. Their homestay was spotless and meticulously maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. Really appreciated the chats and genuine hospitality.

Enhancing the kitchen facilities with more utensils and appliances would make it easier for guests to prepare simple meals. But overall, the stay was perfect, and these small improvements could make it even better!

Gerard's Homestay was a home away from home. Joyson and Valsa are incredibly friendly and generous with their advice on how best to spend your time in Kochi. The home itself is in a fantastic location! Very close to the fort, restaurants, cafes, bars, and ferry. You can also walk to Jew Town in 30 mins if you like. My room was comfortable, clean, hot water and AC. The Gerard's provided drinking water every day, and the kitchenette had all the basics you need to make a hit drink or light snack I wish I stayed longer at Gerard's. I HIGHLY recommend it!

The location is excellent and is definitely value for money. But more than that I found Mr. Gerard and his wife to be lovely hosts and we would love to stay with them again. The place was exceptionally clean and well organized. Mr. Gerard also gave us very helpful tips related to travelling in Kerala.

I think it would be nice to have an AC. I didn't check for AC (or maybe my plan didn't include it) since we didn't need it at this time of the year, but maybe better to check with Mr. Gerard if you need it.

The location is perfect, about 10 minutes walk from Fort Kochi beach and most of the main attractions are within an easy walk. Gerard and Joyson are the perfect hosts with lots of useful information about the area and will help to arrange trips and taxis if you need it

Extremely clean and well-maintained property with lots of beautiful plants. Good value for money. Helpful,welcoming and friendly hosts. Quiet and peaceful location, still able to walk to all the sights of Fort Kochin. It was a nice touch to have hangers and places to hang out clothes in the room. The kettle and complimentary tea and coffee in the common area was also welcome. Thanks 🙏

We booked the budget double room and the private bathroom was not attached, rather you had to walk through a living space to get to it. This wasn't 100% clear when booking. I prefer things to be clear. I would also have preferred that it was made completely obvious that the water in kitchen in the container was not drinking winter. Everything was good apart from that and these are details that can easily be solved.

The hosts were super kind and helped us by giving tips what to see and where to go. They went the extra mile when we got a bit sick and brought us lovely teas. The location is quiet and tucked away, but stil close to eateries. A great place to stay, highly recommended!

Awesome place, very green, run by a very beautiful family. The place is very central, close to everything, yet in a very peaceful area. You won't hear any cars or auto-rickshaws honking. They also have two cute dogs 🥰 I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I will definitely be back. Also to be mentioned, the amazing value for money. What else could you ask for?

It was a great stay at Gerards place. My parents and I enjoyed our time. I got my stomach upset in Kochi and the Gerards family was so helpful. They gave me ginger lemon two times and Gerard brought medicine for me and he even didn’t take the money for medicine. The hospitality was remarkable. I will highly recommend everyone to experience this level of hospitality when you are in Kochi.

There’s nothing that I didn’t like but as its an homestay, I was expecting breakfast or sometimes a choice of dinner after a tiring day. If you need breakfast, please communicate before hand with Gerard.

The room was an oasis to come back to from the heat outside. Very, very clean and uncluttered. The hosts were friendly, helpful and the place felt very safe. Location was very good. Know where I'll stay if I visit Cochin again.

Great value for money in this well kept, super clean and comfortable homestay. Incredibly we had a large room and just outside our door was a lounge room with comfortable sofas, kitchen, dining table and laundry. Also a lovely quiet balcony. The hosts are constantly upgrading their facilities such as adding more kitchen items. Our delightful hosts treated us like family, helping us plan the next stage of our journey. Their friendly and caring nature will not be forgotten.

Absolutely excellent. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrard are genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met. I fell down with some flu of sorts right after my arrival and felt really bad, they checked on me regularly, got me tea and biscuits and also prepared me a great curry meal. 100% would stay there again. Rooms were spacious and extraordinarly clean too.

When I arrived I got a beautiful and friendly welcoming with a cold drink, I felt like home directly. I stayed one night because I was just traveling through, I wish I could have stayed longer. Stayed a month (April) so we went clothes shopping (my American clothes, although cotton, were just too hot),. It was comfortable being part of a family, neighborhood. I liked being there, and the dogs. The mango tree was bearing fruit.

Room had a fan, but it was a hot time of year. Weather report said there was a heat wave on top of that. Hosts said I could invite a friend who was part of a program in another part of Fort Kochi, but neither of us could deal with the heat to take an auto to go see each other. Gerard's has rooms with aircon.

The best accomodation I have stayed at in 3 months of traveling South Asia. It's even nicer than the pictures. Super clean, very nice and helpful hosts, and in a great location. If I come back to Fort Kochi, I will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at Gerards home stay. Such a sweet family; they looked after us very well and did many extra things for us. The location was excellent and the room was clean and big. And a big soft bed. We even had a nice balcony to sit on. Next time we will certainly come back at this place.
