Blacksand Villas Echo Beach, Canggu by Sandara

We had a good stay at the villa and would probably stay again. The villa was clean and comfortable overall. The location was good — the villa is in a relatively quiet laneway, felt safe, and is within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. There’s also a great coffee shop just a short walk away. The pool was a highlight, with plenty of sun from mid-morning through to mid-afternoon. The crockery and cutlery were new, despite a previous review suggesting otherwise. The towels and linens were a little worn and marked. There were quite a few mosquitoes, although bug spray and plug-in repellents were provided. We did have an issue with the air conditioning. Staff responded relatively promptly, and although the upstairs bedroom AC wasn’t fixed, they offered us another villa or the option to use the second bedroom, where the AC worked. One thing to be aware of is the security deposit. We were asked to pay it in cash on arrival, which hadn’t been communicated beforehand, and somewhat inconvenient.

Overall nothing. Would recommend and would stay again.

Construction nearby! There was no information prior to booking (on booking.com listing) about construction directly next to the Villa we booked. Construction workers were on second level so directly next to the villa's bedroom and overlooking the villa pool, privacy was an issue. Construction commenced daily at 7am until 6pm. No break at all during our week stay. Very disappointed this information was not noted in booking.com listing. There was a letter inside the Villa from Blacksand Villa on arrival!!

The main thing I liked about this stay was the kind and caring staff who helped us. During our stay we had a family emergency, the staff went out of their way to help and support even extending our stay at such short notice and accommodating us. The room was a good size and fresh cleaning everyday. The location was perfect walking distance from restaurants and shops yet still peaceful inside our villa. The support from the staff was incredible and kind thank you so much to Sandhi, Ardi and Aryah for making our stay and for your kindness

Construction noise

The property itself is beautiful! The villas are really tastefully decorated and the pool is lovely!

The only issue with the Blacksand Villas Echo Beach was that there was so much noise. I am so shocked no other people have complained about it. There was construction work from 7am until late at night and music from a local club playing in our bedroom until 2am. However, I asked for a refund to management for the remainder of our stay (so we could check out early) and they asked if they could try to manage the situation themselves. They then moved me and my partner to Balcksands Villas (not the Echo Beach one) and it was outstanding. Basically the same place as Echo Beach but so quiet and relaxing. I thought the management handled it very well and we were pleased with the alternative!

We had a wonderful stay at this villa! Ardi made everything so easy from start to finish — always quick to help and incredibly accommodating throughout our trip. The villa itself was beautiful, exactly as pictured, and it really made our stay feel special.

The only downside was the mosquitos, so we’d suggest bringing repellent LOTS of it.

The stairs are very tricky. There is no railing and they get quite tight at the top. I would not recommend for elderly people or children.

This was easily one of the best stays we've had in Canggu. The location is unbeatable — everything on our list (restaurants, cafes, the gym) was a 10 minute walk or less, so much so that we barely used the scooter we'd hired. The villa itself is stunning — the pool flows straight into the open-plan lounge, and the entire upstairs opens up over the pool and gardens below. Golden hour through the bedroom every evening was something else. A huge highlight was the service — Darma and Ayra looked after us so well throughout our stay, checking in each morning, they organised for our laundry to get done before we left, and arranged a scooter hire for us as well, everything was so easy, and their hospitality made the whole experience even more special. We're already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Black Sand Villas to anyone visiting Canggu! The location was great and the service by the hosts, Ardi and Nyoman was excellent. They organised the airport transfers, helped with supplies when my husband got sick, and were very accommodating.

The bags and pool bed could be a bit cleaner as they had bird poop and stains on them. Maybe a deep clean or replacements every now and then.

Ardi was very helpful. He made our stay really very comfortable.

I cannot rate this property high enough! This was my favourite place I’ve stayed in the many places I’ve stayed in Bali. I would like to give a special shout out to Miss Santhi who made sure I was well looked after and taken care of. In addition to her wonderful support every single staff member there went above and beyond to take care of everything for me. This property is so beautiful. It feels like a little slice of heaven, everything was clean and well maintained and I cannot stress enough how beautiful it was. The location was EXCELLENT. Close to everything that you could need and everything else was a short scooter ride away. I really loved this property and look forward to returning again when I come back to Bali.

Aesthetic was stunning and House A4 was lovely. Sun comes into garden around 11:30-2pm and the large Tv and great aircon really helped.

The stairs are a little narrow for some people but fine for us!

The location of the property was perfect. It was close walking distance to many great restaurants/cafes and shops. The staff were so friendly and helpful. In particular, Adi he was very helpful each day checking in with us. The Villa was very spacious, clean and the private pool was an added luxury. The villa is perfect for couple of small family. The bathrooms are very spacious and well designed. The romance package on arrival was a lovely touch.

The electrics didn’t make sense. We couldn’t use our balcony of an evening/night for first 2-3 days due to lights and fan not working. Eventually found the switch on the opposite side of the villa that allowed us to turn it on. Mosquito were often in the villa causing us to have to spray every morning and evening. The bifold doors need a fringe installed to prevent mosquitoes coming into the villa. This is an easy fix to ensure the villa is sealed more.

We loved the location and the staff, especially Ardi - he was great! The pool was really clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Bali!

Dafür kann der Vermieter nix - aber die Straße zur Villa könnte in einem besseren Zustand sein und die Grünfläche Zufahrt vor der Villa ordentlicher.

Our stay at Black Sand Villa was truly memorable, with the stunning setting and thoughtful amenities making it easy to relax, and although we experienced an unexpected move to a different unit, the staff’s professionalism and warmth turned it into a positive experience; they communicated openly and clearly about the situation, assisted us through the transition, and showed genuine accountability by offering remuneration, which made us feel valued and cared for—ultimately, the villa itself is a gem, but it was the team’s responsiveness, transparency, and commitment to guest comfort that left the strongest impression and ensured we would happily return and recommend it to others.

Sehr schöne Designervilla in guter Lage. Viele Restaurants in der Nähe und am Strand ist man in nicht mal 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Villa hatte alles, was man braucht. Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The Villa was very nice! Everthing looked great (outside as well as inside) and it had everything you could need.

It was a bit noisy due to a construction next door but it was not too bad. Otherwise there were no complaints.

So wie auf den Bildern abgebildet. Ruhig, mit viel Grün & Vögel Gezwitscher, aber trotzdem sehr zentral gelegen. Sehr freundliches Personal und als Willkommensgeschenk haben wir sogar noch einen Obstkorb erhalten.

As a solo traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The villa is beautiful, peaceful, and in such a great location — close to everything I needed, yet private and quiet enough to truly relax. A heartfelt thank you to Wari and Jeri for their warmth and care. Traveling alone, it meant so much to feel supported and welcomed. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, safe, and had everything I needed. Their kindness made my experience not only easy but truly memorable. I highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Bali, especially solo travelers looking for both comfort and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be back! 🌺

Perfect villa and a great location

The location was AMAZING! The beach, cafes, restaurants, everything was within a 10-15min walk. The down stairs area was well set up and a fruit bowl on arrival was a nice touch. The stairs at the top are quite steep/narrow, it made opening the door quite challenging.

The patio area with the pool didn't get a lot of sunshine. From the master room upstairs, you could see straight into 2-3 other villas - not ideal if you're after privacy. When laying out by the pool, there was also some works (cutting trees etc) which involved people looking over the fence, again not ideal for privacy.

The staff were amazing!! Jeri, Nyoman and Wayan were so helpful and lovely!!

Très belle villa, tout est neuf et très bien entretenu Personnel toujours présent pour le lot de villa ce qui est très appréciable Proximité avec le centre de Canggu que ce soit à pied ou en scooter Pas de bruit la nuit mais malgré les rideaux de la chambre la lumière passe et nous sommes réveillés tôt

Malheureusement il y a aucun rideaux dans tout le bas de la villa et dans la douche du bas (donc vis à vis dans la salon et dans la douche extérieure que du coup nous n’avons pas utilisé ce qui est bien dommage). Il est urgent de mettre des rideaux et brises vues…

Amazing value. Entire two story private villa. Private pool, spacious living room space, all amenities you could ask for are provided. Comfortable bed, TVs that actually work well, fully stocked kitchen, 2 clean bathrooms, outside and bedroom showers. Extremely friendly staff. Jeri is your man for anything you need. He took great care of me during my stay and the attention to detail was nothing short of amazing. They offer a great breakfast and all services including transport, laundry, and activities. Perfect location near everything. Will 100% stay again when I’m back in Canggu.

The location was great. The bed was comfortable. The pool was good. Tv and wifi were excellent.

This was more Airbnb than a villa complex. You couldn’t get any food past 4pm, no iron, no toaster, cleaning every second day, wasn’t able to organise transport (even back to the airport). There was limited communication with the people running this. Staff were friendly and willing to help but it didn’t seem they were supported by the management. (For instance they found an iron but it kept going back and forth between all the villas). The stairs are also a little concerning. Especially with luggage.

The design of the villa is very welcoming. It's a home away from home.

They could use some rubber between the sliding doors to reduce strong wind from blowing the blinds in the room, at the same time use it to prevent mosquitos & reduce external noises. I could hear the next door guests talking through these gaps. Outdoor shower area is too open, the guests from next door villa can literally see you.

Location and the design of the property were awesome

The access wasn’t the best for stairs to get up and down with luggage, shower heads were leaking and light from tinted windows would always come through but wasn’t a big deal

location is great, only 5-10 minutes walking distance from all the nice shops, bars and restaurants of the area. the villa offers two small rooms with a big closet and separate bathrooms. the pool is nice and chillout corner in the living room is perfect for small groups. the staff was incredible kind and friendly, especially the drivers helped us with so many great ideas about what we could be doing next in order to explore the real Bali.

there was a constant unpleasant odor coming from the bathroom which got worse after the shower has been used, the villa needs a renovation here and there and the balcony on the first floor couldn’t be used as there was a constant hot airflow from a ventilation we couldn’t stop (Bali is hot enough).

We had such an amazing stay here. The villa was clean, had all the faculties needed and the staff were so lovely. Would most definitely stay here again!

Worth baring in mind that the pool only had direct sunlight for a couple of hours in the day, the rest of the time it was shady

We were lucky enough to extend our stay at Blacksand Villa by three extra days – turning a short getaway into a full week in one of the most beautiful accommodations we’ve ever experienced. The villa is not only modern and well-equipped but also designed with great attention to detail. The thoughtful layout, calming colors, and natural materials create an atmosphere where you feel instantly at home. We especially loved the private pool area surrounded by lush tropical plants – a true oasis of peace and relaxation. The amenities were excellent: a well-stocked minibar with a great selection of snacks and drinks, a fresh fruit basket to welcome us, and a complimentary water dispenser that kept us supplied with fresh drinking water throughout our entire stay – a truly thoughtful gesture. Our time here was pure relaxation, and we can highly recommend Blacksand Villa to anyone looking for a stylish and serene place to unwind. We’ll definitely be back!
