Wonderful clean room, across the road from the beach. Hosts took us for tuktuk ride to Blue Beach fabulous.They also do wonderful paintings at very good prices. We bought two !!

The owners were incredibly hospitable and had us over to their home for dinner one night. This is a true gem of a find and I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I was in the area again.

It was clean, well maintained, had everything we needed including a kettle, fridge, hairdryer, fast internet, a/c. This place ticked all the boxes and bed and linen were spotless and comfortable.

Das Zimmer war top sauber; es hat alles was es braucht - Klima, Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher mit Kaffee/Tee und literweise Wasser vor der Zimmertür für ganz kleines Geld. Inder Nähe finden sich viele gute Restaurants (alle Geschmacksrichtungen) und ein toller Strand (über der Straße) mit Bars und Liegen.

Liegt an einer Straße, die zwar Nachts wenig befahren wird - wenn man da empfindlich ist… und hat es nicht gestört. Weitere(s) Zimmer liegt hinten und ist vermutlich ruhiger.

The home owners were lovely, responsive and always friendly. Beautiful room with a nice balcony and an amazing bed. I enjoyed my stay very much!

Sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, klimatisiert, warmes Duschwasser, sehr sauber, günstige Lage, Wasserflaschen vor dem Zimmer (gegen kleines Entgelt) & total herzliche Besitzer! Die Menschen/ Gastfamilien auf Sri Lanka sind in der Regel alle sehr gastfreundlich, aber hier waren sie das Highlight unserer Reise.😊 Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt! Wir können die Unterkunft zu 100% weiterempfehlen.

In tegenstelling tot alle goede dingen die wij lazen over dit verblijf hebben wij hier helaas geen goede ervaring gehad. Op het eerste oog leek alles perfect. De eigenaresse en haar man zijn ook super lieve en gastvrije mensen. Op hun niks aan te merken. Tijdens onze eerste dag merkten wij echter dat er gekras, geritsel en gepiep vanuit het plafond kwam. Daarna viel ons op dat bovenop de klamboe ook muizenkeutels lagen, welke vermoedelijk tussen de plafondplaten zijn doorgevallen. Toen wij in bed lagen kreeg mijn vriendin ook druppels op zich, waarvan wij vermoeden dat het muizen urine is geweest omdat het alleen maar van tussen de plafondplaten kon komen. ‘s Avonds hadden wij ook nog een familie gekko’s/hagedissen op onze kamer en badkamer. We voelden ons hierdoor totaal niet meer op ons gemak. Hierdoor werden dingen die je anders niet zo zou uitvergroten, zoals slechte wifi en veel omgevingsgeluiden (ontzettend veel hard getoeter op straat), nog vervelender. Wij hebben na 1 nacht besloten om naar een ander verblijf te gaan.

Прекрасное место! прекрасные хозяева, отзывчивые, добрые люди! помогали со всеми вопросами, быстро реагировали на любые наши пожелания! и очень приятно было с ними просто пообщаться) в комнате было всё необходимое - холодильник, чайник, чай, кофе, вода, своя ванная, небольшой балкон с зоной отдыха! номер очень чистый, регуляно проводилась уборка, смена постельного белья и полотенец! расположение дома также очень удобное, через дорогу огромный пляж, на котором практически нет людей! все магазины, лавки, кафе, рестораны в пешей доступности или в 3х минутах езды, но в то же время, жильё находится не в самом городе, так что нет сильного шума, пыли и большого количества людей, для нас это было идеально) спасибо за тёплый приём) всем рекомендую)

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön und sehr gepflegt! Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Art House. Die Zimmer sind sauber und es hat viel Platz für das Gepäck und um Sachen aufzuhängen. Der Strand ist in 5minuten erreichbar.

Wenn es etwas zu bemängeln gibt, dann das was viele andere geschrieben haben. Es liegt an der Hauptstrasse und es ist ziemlich laut, auch in der Nacht…

the prettiest room we stayed at in sri lanka. very clean and modern. dikwella beach was 2 minutes walk away and getting to most popular beach takes around 7 minutes ride in tuktuk. owners were really helpful and nice- i recommend this place very much

the only minus is that it is pretty loud from the street and we stayed there during renovations but it wasn’t big problem

The most lovely, kind, welcoming, thoughtful hosts who really went above & beyond to make our stay memorable. Really yummy breakfast. Wonderful room, very clean & well designed. Great price, Bottled water available, very convenient. Really appreciated the tuk tuk transport available too which was very helpful.

Nos alojamos con los niños en sus dos habitaciones, todo perfecto. Ella tiene una galería de arte y él nos llevó a conocer los sitios cercanos en tuk tuk. Las habitaciones modernas, cómodas y limpias (AC y ventilador,.mosquitera, secador de pelo, nevera...). Está justo enfrente de una playa maravillosa. Los servicios extra como desayuno, lavandería y tuk tuk perfectos y económicos.

It was such a good and warm experience At Art house . The owners were so welcoming and warm hearted people. Gave us sweets too as it was there festival that day.Loved the place.but the balcony area is quite good.

Room was a lil small .It could have been a lil bigger.

Chamee & Suranda are the sweetest and most generous people I've met. They are very respectful and helpful. After a long travel I was warmly welcomed with a limejuice and had lots of laughs and good conversations. This continued as I stayed. Chamee would drive me around in his TukTuk whenever I needed to. They invited me and my friends to have dinner with them, which was outstanding! When they found out I love singing, they also invited family over to have a karaoke/music night. I felt so much joy and love.. I remember this forever. The place is near the road, but rooms are very quiet and I slept like a rose. Art House is also just a few minutes walking to the beach and a 20 min walk to Hiritekya. The rooms are very clean and I love the atmosphere. Chamee & Suranda thank you so much and hope to see you next time when I visit Sri Lanka.

Working wifi, totally clean room, working AC, super kind owners. Before this accommodation we stayed in 7 different houses and this one was really the best one. Thank you for all, especially for your smiles 🙂

The hosts were super friendly and helping. They have made our stay even better. Other than that, it was a nice and comfortable room.

The street is quite noisy. It’s not attractive to sit outside on the balcony, or sleep with an open window.

The property was absolutely stunning! Honestly the best stay I had in Sri Lanka and when I visit again I am 100% coming back. The hosts were incredible and very talented artists. It is a shame I couldn’t take one of their pieces home with me, they were beautiful. The beach is a short walk from here with beautiful sunsets. Thank you so much for providing me with such a wonderful stay.

The host picked us up from the train station. The room and bed linen were clean

The road noise makes it impossible to relax. The noise continues well into the night and early hours of the morning. There is NO garden view just plant hangers and a plastic screen blocking your view of the busy highway. The web site showed visitors enjoying breakfast on the balcony- this would be impossible 1. The traffic noise and car fumes 2. I was told that the cook was not there anymore. I also booked because on the website as it stated the room had two beds. There was only room to fit one large double which took up all the floor space. The location is near the beach however you will need to walk up further to a safer swimming surf which takes around 15 minutes ( this wasn’t an issue). After a sleepless night we checked out a day early (7am) as I couldn’t stay another moment there. When I explained to the host his only response was to ask me to change the booking on booking.com

I had a wonderful stay at the Art House. The owners are so welcoming and lovely, awaiting me with some lime juice and even organised a private Transfer to my next accommodation in Ella at a very fair price. I loved the room and little balcony and felt very much at home. The place is just across the road from Dikwella beach (the more quiet end), which I actually found nicer than the small and busy Hiriketiya Beach as it‘s more relaxed and better for Swimming. Like everywhere it can get a little noisy at times due to the main road traffic, which did not disturb me. Can highly recommend staying at this homestay!

Beautifully decorated, lovely people and great location. Could not recommend enough!

The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. The place consists of two rooms (with their own bathroom and balcony) and is situated above their home. Beach is about 5 minute walk away. They made us welcoming drinks, tea and some very delicious fish, just because they wanted us to taste it - and it was amazing! The place was very clean and had all the necessarily amenities. And is designed very stylishly. Fun detail is the fact that the hostess is an Artis and that every morning, you can see the progress that has been made on the painting since the day before. We couldn’t recommend the place more!

You can ask for food to the owners that will be homemade and delicious, and also for a very reasonable price. transportation can be also provided by them, and again at a vere reasonable rate. highly recommend.

This has been our favorite stay in Sri Lanka so far! The hosts go above and beyond to ensure every detail is taken care of and are genuinely lovely people. The accommodation had everything we needed, including a fridge, plenty of storage space for our backpacks, and a charming balcony. The entire place was impeccably clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast here both mornings, and it was a perfect 10/10 – plus, the coffee was excellent. We highly recommend staying here!

Best stay we had so far in Sri Lanka. The room was very clean and nice. We tried 3 different breakfast and all of them were very tasty. It is only 5mins walking distance away from the turtle beach and around 20mins walking distance to the Hiriketiya beach. They also drove us to our next stay in Mirissa for a very good price. Highly recommended.

Lack of AC was a bit of an issue as the fan was only very small.

The interior is charming, the hosts are incredibly kind and friendly, and Hiriketiya Beach is conveniently close by. Additionally, the breakfast is reasonably priced, ranging between 1000 and 1400.

Breathing was incredibly challenging due to the lack of air conditioning and only one fan in the room. However, when we expressed our concern, we were promptly provided with a second fan. As others have mentioned, the location near the main street makes it very loud.

Amazing hostility. We felt very welcome and safe. Cleanest stay I had in more than half a year in Asia. They help you with everything you need. Would definitely come back.

Lovely small apartment with everything you need for a few days at the beach! Huge comfy bed, fridge, balcony and very clean. The hosts are fantastic and provided a lovely breakfast, and even drove us to our next destination in his massive Tuk Tuk! You can walk to Dikwella beach (literally 10 steps) or cheap tuk tuk to Hiritikya. Highly recommend!

There isn’t any aircon but the did provide us with an extra fan which is lovely! It is by the main road so if you sleep with the doors open it can be loud, but with the 2 fans you don’t need to!

We loved our stay, the hosts were super nice, the room was beautiful and the bathroom was the cleanest we’ve seen in Sri Lanka. :) It’s very close to the beaches. Also there was a mosquito net and a fridge in the room so that was nice. We loved the plants everywhere. Great value for the price.

We would appreciate AC as it was very hot the first night, the second night was a little bit colder and it was okay with fan and open balcony.

- Since there is no AC in the room, it became a bit stuffy in the room during the night - the house is located at the main road, as long as the door is closed it´s fine, but with open balcony door it can become intense. But maybe it´s just me being sensible ;)

I had an exceptional two-week stay at "Art House". The lovely artist couple who is running the gallery were incredibly kind, tending to all my needs. The well-equipped room, more satisfying bathroom, and highly recommended cooking showcased their artistic touch. The ambiance, adorned with plants and pictures, created a pleasant atmosphere. The comfortable bed and cozy balcony, just a minute from the beach, made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for a unique and delightful stay in Sri Lanka. Throughout my stay in dikwella for over a month I stayed in jungle villas, beachfront houses but would prefer to stay at the Art House whenever I come back. The room was cleaned everyday and coming back after hours of an early morning surf was just always pure bliss! The hosts can cater to your every needs and are very invested that you have a man exceptional time! Extremely kind people!

This was the most beautiful stay we have had in sri lanka. The house is so romantic and good looking. Also the room is really clean and good looking. Cleanest bathroom in have seen in sri lanka. The hosts are such nice people and the woman makes wonderful art at her gallery.

Must say there are no downsides. The street is a little noisy but we still slept really good in the bed. An airco could be a nice addition but the fan in the room did great work cooling us down!

Beautiful rooms, hot shower, spotlessly clean (which is especially hard given proximity to the beach) But mainly, we just love the couple that run it They are so incredibly kind and helpful.

Even if we stay just one night you can feel the love that this family puts in their homestay. The room is well equipped and well decorated ( she is an amazing artist), very comfortable and full of lovely plants and the breakfast was delicious. The locations is close to the city by 10 minutes walk and same is the beach. He even brought us to Ella with the tuk tuk and was a niiice journey! Thanks for everything:)

A spacious room with a modern artsy feel, we loved the interior and that they had personalised it so well. It sits above the owners art studio - they are very talented!! We are also plant lovers and there are so many gorgeous ones! The hosts are super welcoming and we are so glad we stayed here, they offered breakfast/dinner too which we now regret not taking! Very clean and tidy, comfy bed, WiFi box in the room so works very well, good balcony space and a decent bathroom/shower. Less than a 5 minute walk to a few restaurants at the beach. We were so pleased with this price of this place we couldn't believe the value with it being so close to Hiriketiya where others are charging so much more for less. Good parking space for our tuktuk. Thank you for a lovely nights stay 🫶

As some other reviews had mentioned it was quite warm at night but there is a good fan which helps. You can also hear the road noise but it didn't take away from our stay and I still slept well so left happy.

It’s such a cute little place and the owners are the absolute sweetest. They were so helpful and always smiling. The place was very cozy, clean, and peaceful. We actually enjoyed Dickwella beach more than the popular Hiriketiya beach.

The only thing was that restaurants were a little bit far away but a short tuktuk ride solves that

It is brand new room with amazing owners. They would do everything for you with a smile. Room is very stylish and you have all you need very close to the beautiful beaches also as town itself. If you travel around and looking for clean and beautiful room, this is the place. the breakfast was amazing too.

bit noisy from street but its not the problem of the owners, thats how sri lanka is. no AC in room but i do not use it anyway. there is a fan and its just enough. so at the end all was amazing. no complains
