Beautiful setting and really friendly hosts! We particularly enjoyed the sunset boat trip and driving around the island. The food is also amazing!

We are absolutely over the moon! As content creators who stay at many hotels and villas, we can honestly say that this has been our best stay personally. We felt even better here than at home! The best part? We never had to worry about security or anything at all. The team is amazing, the service is exceptional, and everything is on a 1000 times better level. 🙌 And oh my God… the meals! 🤤 Wahhh, they are on another level! The food is something we will definitely remember for a long time. Every meal was simply unforgettable. The only little thing we noticed was the bathing water it’s salty. But honestly, this is absolutely not an issue with the team or the property. Since it’s an island, even the well water is naturally salty, so it’s completely understandable. Personally, that’s the only thing I can mention. Everything else is truly on another level! From the amazing team and service to the unforgettable food and overall experience, we loved every moment of our stay.

On peut acheter des breuvages froids directement sur place au lieu d'avoir à se déplacer. Les espaces communs sont agréables. Tommy est très sympathique et parle très bien l'anglais!

Les fréquentes interruptions de courant ont fait que les ventilateurs n'ont pas fonctionné une bonne partie de la nuit et il faisait très très chaud. C' est cependant indépendant de leur contrôle mais ça a été plus difficile de dormir avec la chaleur.

This is the first time I live with foreigners. It's an unforgotable memory. There customer service and the management are excellent. If you want to stay quite and peacefull place then this is the best place in the delft.

Georgie & Tommy were the most welcoming, friendly & lovely hosts - you felt like you were staying in their "house". Delft Village Stay is a wonderful place to meet people - we all ate together & the food was amazing. A unique place in Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing stay at Delft Village Stay. Tommy and Georgia were incredibly warm, welcoming, and made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic island life in Delft. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and full of local charm. We also ordered lunch and dinner, and it exceeded all our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and one of the best meals we had during our trip. And the morning yoga class was a wonderful bonus! If you are looking for a genuine local experience with outstanding hospitality and fantastic homemade food, we highly recommend staying here. Thank you for making our visit so special!

Nous avons tout aimé! Tommy nous a reçus avec énormément d' attention et nous nous sommes sentis à l' aise tout de suite. Les huttes sont toutes mignonnes et confortables. Même si nous sommes sur une île où il y a peu d' habitants et d' infrastructures, nous avions tout ce qu' il nous fallait. Chaque hutte a plusieurs ventilateurs, les salles de bain extérieures sont pittoresques et nous avons adoré nous doucher sous les étoiles. La mère de Tommy est une excellente cuisinière et les petits déjeuners étaient extra. Il y a la possibilité de louer de beaux vélos directement à l' hébergement. Mention spéciale pour Georgie et ses cours de yoga le matin, sous les arbres. Nous avons pu discuter et échanger de plein de choses avec elle, et avec Tommy, ils ont été d' excellents conseils. Nous y reviendrons les yeux fermés! Nous recommandons sans hésitation.

Tommy et Georgie nous accueillent dans un environnement apaisant et reposant. Ce fut un plaisir de séjour ici, nous y sommes restés une nuit supplémentaire !

Lovely place with a very nice atmosphere. Simple, quiet and extremely welcoming thanks to Tommy and his mother who is a very good cooker. The community based environment is also very welcoming for families. Sharing meals, bone fires and games creates such good vibes. Bicycles available

4 nuits passées au Village stay et clairement si on n'avait pas planifié d'autres destinations après, on serait restés plus. Tommy a créé une atmosphère propice aux belles rencontres, à la détente et aux découvertes. Tout se fait naturellement. Les vélos sont à disposition pour découvrir ce pur joyau qu'est l'île de Delft. La plage de fin sable blanc, où nous étions seuls à chaque fois, est seulement à quelques pas. Nos enfants repartent avec de beaux souvenirs de pêche avec les locaux et copains faits au Village Stay. Personnellement j'ai aimé l'équilibre que j'ai trouvé entre lecture dans les hamacs, excursions et discussions autour des festins que nous cuisinait la maman de Tomm, les jeux, notamment la grande partie de volleyball. J'ai été épatée par l'impression d'être une communauté de voyageurs alors que nous étions tous si impermanents. Bravo à Tommy pour avoir créé cet endroit qui permet de préserver la nature de l'île tout en nous permettant de vivre une expérience inoubliable. Merci à lui pour son accueil si attentionné avant même notre arrivée.

Tommy was very friendly and welcoming. He gave great advice about how to get around the island, and provided links to maps so you could self navigate.

Such an awesome place!!!! Perfectly off the beaten path. The hosts were so so lovely. Dinners here were definitely up there with the best meals I ate in Sri Lanka- if not the best. Absolutely recommend if you’re looking for something a little different, with a fab set up for private rooms and places to chill out. I hope I shall be returning!!!!

Sehr coole, entspannte Unterkunft. Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Ich hatte eigentlich ein Dormroom gebucht aber durfte für den gleichen Preis im Zelt schlafen. Coole Erfahrung! Man kann in der Unterkunft Fahrräder leihen und die Insel erkunden. Sehr empfehlenswert!

I had an amazing time at Delft Village Stay. The atmosphere, food and tents are amazing. If it wasn’t for my flight, I would have definitely stayed even longer. Tommy is a great guy and very helpful to help you explore the island.

Staying at Delft Village Stay was definitely a great experience. Our host was of great help, we were able to rent bicycles and see the baobab and a beautiful sunset. The dinner was especially delicious.

This is probably the best place to stay in all of Sri Lanka. We initially booked two nights, but we extended our stay by another two; if we could, we would have stayed even longer. Tommy is an amazing host who has created a special place that truly brings the right people together. The island is small and has some attractions, but it was this accommodation that made our visit truly special. We loved everything - from our tent to the food, activities, and the place itself. Delft Village was a highlight of my 2 month trip to Sri Lanka because of the people. It's like walking into a friends living room upon arrival and Tommy, the owner, his staff and the guests are so welcoming. Tommy cares about every single person that comes to his property, he cares about the environment, the people and the future of his island. He provides authentic experiences by immersing you in the culture of the island and with the people who live there and call it home. Side note: While there, I got sick (not from Delft Village!) for a couple of days and was honestly grateful I was there because it felt like a little community looking out for each other. I truly wish Tommy the best for his vision with Delft Village.

One of my favourite places on my whole 5 week trip! So worth visiting Delft to relax into island life, enjoy the atmosphere and escape the hustle & bustle of the towns. I booked 1 night but stayed for 3, even though I wish I could have stayed longer. The accommodation was comfortable, with loads of hammocks and chill spots and a really nice vibe that brings people together whoever comes through. A reflection of Tommys humble & generous spirit who works so hard & the team to make everyone feel welcome! Huge respect for them and how they have built this place piece by piece and their mission to keep it authentic, supporting locals and giving travellers a place to slow down! I borrowed a bike and cycled around the island, we tried net fishing with a BBQ on the beach, we did yoga on the platform and chatted endlessly under the palms and stars! The food was absolutely delicious and I wish Delft village stay all the blessings in the world to thrive!

After 2 months travelling around Sri Lanka our stay here was the best! If you like Camping athmosphare and meeting other travellers this is the one and only place not to miss in Sri Lanka. Thank you Tommy for the great time.

A lovely relaxing place where alot of attention and detail has gone into making this the perfect chillout stay whilst still keeping the rustic charm. Tommy and the staff are such lovely and welcoming people and are always ready to help and make your stay the best experience. Had some of the best food here too.

For me there was nothing I disliked.

Really relaxed , rustic ( outdoor showers great), really helpful staff /owner. Good location. Bikes available. Freshly cooked local food. Good vibe.

Power cuts daily ( across island not the properties fault and they do have a back up generator). Take a head touch or charge phone when power on.

As soon as we arrived to delft village stay we decided to extend our stay with another day. The camp has an relaxing feeling that makes the time stand still. The host Tommy and everyone at the stay is friendly and helpfull. The people make the camp feel like a home. Everything you need to see the island is provided by the camp, and the food at the camp is increadiable. Its a true 5 out of 5 experience to stay here, we are so happy this was our last stay during out trip through Sri Lanka.

Es war ein Highlight unserer Sri Lanka Reise. Tommy der Inhaber ist super nett und hat sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben unseren Aufenthalt so schön wie möglich zu gestalten. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Man sieht dass die Unterkunft mit Liebe eingerichtet wurde. Wir hatten ein super entspanntes Inselleben abseits der üblichen Touristen Routen.

Can I say nothing ?

We had a truly wonderful experience at the Village Stay( It’s located at the North side of the Island). It felt like stepping into a warm, homely space where everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and cared for. The atmosphere was peaceful, natural, and beautifully simple, exactly what you would hope for in an authentic island stay. Although Mr. Vithushan wasn’t there in person, he coordinated everything perfectly for us, making sure our trip went smoothly. A very special thanks goes to his kind and caring mother, who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. She treated us with such warmth and friendliness, it felt like staying with family. The rooms and spaces were well arranged, cozy, and filled with small thoughtful touches. The beds were super comfortable, and there were plenty of places to chill, relax, and take in the calmness of the wind and trees. The food was delicious, warm, and homely full of love and flavor. Even if you cannot communicate in English or Tamil, don’t worry you can still have a great stay. Smiles, gestures, and hand signals do the trick, and you’ll feel right at home. A few tips for travelers: • Don’t forget to bring your shampoo and conditioner, especially if you plan to swim (which is a must do experience here). After a refreshing swim, you can use water from the black tank to wash your hair and brush your teeth. • The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for morning or evening strolls. Watching the wild horses around 7–8 am or during sunset is magical. You’ll likely see over 50 of them roaming freely, and it’s an unforgettable sight. They usually stay in the West side of the Island. • Make sure you catch the sunset by the sand beach. Swimming towards the setting sun was one of the most surreal and breathtaking experiences of our stay.

A really fun and character-filled place to stay. I wish we had stayed longer! We stayed in the AC room which was basic but everything you could need. The (optional) well shower area is a cool authentic touch. We rented bikes to see the island, no luck with the wild horses but still starkly beautiful.

It's a little backpackers heaven. We had a really good time sharing dinner with the other guests and Tony. The place is really beautiful and peaceful, the tent comfortable.

Cosy atmosphere, host Tommy provides all the information you need and the food there, that you need to order in advance so they know how much to cook for, was so good! Great place to go on the island and also to meet other travellers if you would like that.

Everything, not a single negative thing to say. Hands down the BEST place I stayed in my month long trip to Sri Lanka. Tommy is an incredible host and has so much knowledge, he’s happy to help you with any further travel plans. This place is PERFECT just the way it is. Free bike hire to get to the beach. So many activities, tuk tuk safari, sleeping on the beach, boat trip, sunrise swims. The island is magical and staying with Tommy just enhances your experience in all the best ways.

Could do with serving lunch.

We had a wonderful overnight stay with Tommy at Delft Village. We loved our glamping, the tent has a shady shelter, fans, real beds and all home comforts. The site has lots of places to chill and relax: hammocks, deckchairs and the common area is inclusive. We loved showering in the open air-wonderful. The Home cooked shared food was a perfect end to the day. We wished we’d stayed another night to enjoy Delft and the Village Stay. It was so lovely to relax and slow down the pace of life. Tommy is the best host-helpful & kind.

Tommy is such a nice guy and 2 nights are actually too short for such a beautiful setting. Loved everything about my stay here and would go back in a heartbeat.

Very friendly atmosphere. Tommy is extremely helpful. As comfortable as you could expect in a remote location for this type of accommodation, with hammocks, lounges, fans and swinging chairs. Excellent food, and helpful advice about what to see and do on the island. Also bicycles for rent (free for short trips)

It is basic, and the shower and well water is brackish - but that is true of the whole island, and they do provide good drinking water.

Great place to stay on delft island. Really remote island really loved our stay. We only stayed 2 nights but had the best time. The place was really well organised and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Hammocks everywhere and even the outdoor salty shower wasn’t even bad. It was really nice to be outdoors and the tents were great. The dinner and breakfast were great.

There isn’t much food option on the island for lunches- there is 1 very basic restaurant that sells curry and rice and would have been great if they offer lunch as well. Though breakfast and dinner was incredible.

The host Tommy went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The whole vibe was something different and the experience was really good. Loved the place, the food and the whole surroundings. You can just sit and dream away.

This is the most wonderful place to stay! Tommy is a fantastic host and caters to all your needs. The tents are super comfortable, and with a fan for fresh air you'll get a very restful sleep. Delft Village Stay is nestled in the heart of the village offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that makes it an ideal retreat. Despite Delft being a remote island with limited resources, this stay provides more than enough comfort to truly enjoy your time here. The eco-friendly vibe and natural surroundings create a unique and refreshing experience. It's conveniently located within walking distance to the Sandy Beach and several local attractions. The shared amenities are clean and well-maintained, and there is even a traditional well where you can bathe like a local. Bicycles and motorbikes are available for rent which makes it easy to explore the island. The host - Vithushan (Tommy), is incredibly friendly and welcoming. He was attentive and helpful since I made the booking by offering valuable information and tips to make the most of my visit. Also enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals made by friendly locals, served for both breakfast and dinner. The food added a homely touch to the stay. I spent my days cycling around the island exploring its natural beauty and visiting nearly all the attractions. Evenings were best spent relaxing by the beach soaking in the tranquil island vibes. I would highly recommend this place if you're coming to Delft island to relax or explore attractions.

The place was incredible. I enjoyed very much. I had a chance to meet and interact with the locals and get some cultural experience. Being an Indian Tamil, I enjoyed it a lot to see Sri Lankan Tamils. The beach is probably the best thing. The place is 2 to 3 mins walk away from the beach. I got to relax a lot. Although not a classic beach resort experience, it was chill and a bit of a camping vibe.

Internet connection both Wifi and Mobile Network were not good and I could not get any work done. If you plan to do digital nomad stuff, then it may not work here.

Good place to relax and calm recommend

The most remote island in Sri Lanka - and it's true. An absolutely unique experience by itself. Add wild horses, flamingos and lots of other birds and you have something that you can't find in sri Lanka

The beach itself can be disappointing and murky waters of the ocean (probably some calcerous sediment from corals). Other than that - everything peachy!
