Superbe établissement ! Un peu petit mais très propre et très bon emplacement. Les femmes qui gèrent l’établissement sont adorables et très serviables. Je recommande vivement

Super chambre, vraiment bien située. Les hôtes sont super gentils ! Ils ont bien voulu que je gare ma moto dans leur garage et ils se sont réveillés à 5h pour que je puisse la sortir. Merci beaucoup !

Bed was so so comfy, the room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. Hosts were excellent and were so accommodating.

We did not have AC in the room and so it was quite warm at night and the mosquito net made the bed slightly claustrophobic.

We booked the accommodation very spontaneously, and the check-in process was smooth and easy.

Die Unterkunft liegtvsehr central. Alle Geschäfte und Restaurants sind in wenigenMinuten fußläufig zu erreichen. Auch zum Strand sind es nur wenige Minuten. Das Zimmer ist klein und gemütlich. Es gibt heißes Wasser ( was ich nicht benötigt habe bei der Hitze. Die Matratze ist sehr bequem und das Bett ist schön groß. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, aber einen guten Van über dem Bett. Das hat für mich völlig ausgereicht. Die Kommunikation mit dem Host ist schnell und unkompliziert über WhatsApp! Man hat die gesamte Etage für sich alleine und kann auch einen kleinen Balkon nutzen. Besonders praktisch un seine nasse Wäsche dort zu trocknen! Ich kann den Aufenthalt nur empfehlen. Ich habe die 2 Tage sehr genossen und komme definitiv wieder!!!! Nach Galle Fort fahren alle paar Minuten Busse, ein TukTuk kostet ca. 600rupees (August 2025)

The location was good.

We did not receive the WiFi password. We sent a message to the host requesting for the WiFi password but there was no reply regarding the WiFi even after checkout. The sheets were stained too.

30000 rupiest were stolen from my locked room Owner insisted on closing windows at night so I did not have a healthy sleep

Very nice place to stay in Unawatuna and super close to all the facilities. Still worth it to have a motorbike (if you know how to drive one) to explore the surroundings. The owners are super nice and always ready to help with anything you might need 🙏🏼 the property is located right on the side of the main road but you won’t hear a lot of noise during the night.

If you travel to Sri Lanka during the end of the dry season of the beginning of the rainy season it could be a bit too hot to sleep with only a fan since there’s no AC in the room. Apart from that, nothing to mention.

We had a wonderful time at Dev House! The hosts are the most sweet and helpful people ever. They helped us to secure our tuktuk for the night in front of their shop. They also helped me out when I got water in my phone so they gave me salt and offered rice. The room is very comfortable and also very private since they only offer one room. It was a perfect stay!

The location is very close to the beach.on the way to the beach,the street has a lot of restaurants and shops nearby.the owner is kind,helpful and a lovely person.bus stop is just next to the hotel room to go to colombo or down to the south.

The owners were the most lovely people and went out of their way to make our stay better and even gave us their personal umbrella to escape the rain. The room is basic but that was expected considering the price.

I had the most wonderful stay at Dev House in Anawatuna! The place is run by a lovely mom and her mother, who are the sweetest and most attentive hosts you could hope for. They went above and beyond to make our stay special – from keeping our bags safe after check-out to helping us catch the right bus to our next destination. The room was super comfortable. Everything was impeccably clean, and the value for money is fantastic. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay, I can’t recommend Dev House enough!

Spotlessly clean homestay run by a lovely mother/daughter duo. I was worried there could be traffic noise being on a main road but room is at the back of the house and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and extra large (king sized).

The location was perfect, in walking distance to the main area. The room was beautiful and clean with a huge bed, such good value for a cheap price! The hosts were amazing , very helpful . Would definitely recommend this property.

The host family were absolutely beautiful and friendly, and happy to cook you a meal any time.

Our stay was excellent!! The room is clean and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The owner was lovely and so helpful. There is only one room so you have complete privacy. The location is excellent, at the top of the Main Street so it is less than 10 minutes walk to the beach but you are away from the busy areas. Location was absolutely perfect!! We were originally worried about not having any A/C however the fan worked well and we kept the windows open to keep fresh air in. The mosquito net is a helpful addition. You have hot water, and plenty of space. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend to anyone! Particularly given the very good value!

What a lovely place to stay! I only booked one night but decided to stay longer after I met the hosts - such lovely and accommodating people. I also bought a shirt from their tailor shop. Bed super comfortable, all amenities available. Recommend staying here!

Close to the beach, owners are really nice, they have their one cloting store where they sell and sew some really good clotes. Room was small but really nice, it had everything We need, bathroom to😊

Unfortunately there’s no A/C in the room, but there’s a fan and the mosquito net.

The room was nice, with a good and soft bed. Hot & cold shower, outside the room there was a little living area where you could work or have a tea. Very friendly family and everything was really clean. We even saw the housekeeper iron the bedsheets.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, they allowed us to check in when we arrived which was a few hours before the check in. Room was spacious and nice warm shower.

Only issue was the fan was not powerful enough to cool the room so it was cooler outside which made sleeping uncomfortable. I’m sure the fan would be fine if it wasn’t so hot or we were more use to the hot weather.

Clean & well presented. Exactly like the photos. Comfy large bed. Very strong fan kept very cool. Convenient location 2 mins walk to beach road. Dev & Mother were amazing friendly & helpful hosts. They helped with us getting a tuk tuk on our departure to Hikkaduwa at a very fare price. Would highly recommend & next time in Unawatuna would return to stay with this lovely family.

Exceptional. The family owning the place was very kind and attentive. The room was clean and spacious, one of the best in Sri Lanka. It is walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. Definitely a 10 friends.

There wasn't AC

The room was clean and neatly presented. The daughter and mother welcomed us and thankfully allowed us to check in early. The location is great - only a 5-10 min walk to the beach. We appreciated the use of the balcony across the hall to dry our beach things!

The host was particularly secretive of the wifi password which was weird. She pinned it into our phones and then when I asked for the code for my laptop I was questioned and never sent it. The mattress (I think it was just a piece of foam) was so very thin and felt like you were sleeping directly on the slats. The fan was manageable but the room did get quite warm as the sun hits it so this is something to bear in mind.

The space has been freshly redone and is very comfortable and clean, the owner had the room available for us and clean with a short minute booking and very happy we came here, right across the street to access of beach road and shops so nice to be off the main shop street but less then a minute and your there.

I honestly liked this place the most of our stay but it did state there was air conditioning and only a fan, I slept well but my partner was quite warm

I liked the accommodation in Dev's house, it was clean and comfortable, convenient location on the main road, about 10 mins walk to the sea. Dev is very polite and hospitable, she always came to help when it was necessary. I total recommend

The hosts, Dev and her mum are super kind. They have recently built this place behind their shop/ home to open up to guests. The room is new and everything is very clean. They are very excited to welcome people and want to ensure you have a comfortable stay. The location is on the main road opposite the main areas of unawatuna. They will go out their way to help you.

Because it was so new and we were only their fourth guest they are still getting a few things set up. They were getting the wifi set up so we didn’t have it during our stay but I’m sure it will be up when the next guests come..

I travel all around the world over 2 yrs and I can say that this place is the best ever, they made me feel really at home and I really feel that I can live here forever and as a cook I can say that she cooked the best Sri Lankan foods I will miss it for sure and I will be back as soon as possible. Thank you all, I can just recomment this place and I am sure that you will be more than happy to be here. I wish you all the best forever ❤️ 🙏
