Thought the breakfast was okay, the price had increased since I originally booked my room. The room was comfortable, clean and added bonus of a balcony, nice for a morning coffee or after noon cup of tea, minus shared bathroom, but not really a problem.

Did not know it was a shared bathroom, but I was offered an ensuite room at an extra cost, but as only staying a few nights not really a problem

Rooms are a little bit small. But we have Had a nice terrasse.

All perfect, high quality mattresses. Shower plenty of hot water available at night and before breakfast. Blackout curtains gave us all an excellent nights sleep. WE wil certainly be back

Nothing! I am certain that this will come across as too perfect, but having stayed at many resorts and Gust houses, we felt this was the best all round stay we have had to date!

Adam und seine Frau sind großartige Gastgeber, die sich sehr um ihre Gäste kümmern und auch gute Tipps geben. Mit Adams leckerem English Breakfast konnte man gut in den Tag starten. Das Parken war auch kein Problem.

It was located in a very good area for all the places that we intended to visit. The property was very clean and the facilities very well maintained. We were greeted by the owner and made very comfortable.

Excellent owners, went out of their way to get my room ready early and be there to greet me. Lovely twin room, with a very comfortable bed I had the best night's sleep in for some time. Useful to have a sink in the room, and the bathroom only next door. Fantastic quality WIFI. Great location for the city centre, the cathedral etc, just a short walk down the main road.

Was unclear how many people I was sharing the bathroom with so was difficult to relax in case someone else needed it soon

Clean, very friendly, lovely location

Die Lage des Hauses ist gut. Sowohl die Altstadt als auch das Meer mit dem Bangor Pier sind fußläufig innerhalb weniger Minuten erreichbar. Der gewünschte Parkplatz war frei. Y Garth Guesthouse macht insgesamt einen gediegenen Eindruck.

Das Zimmer lag im ersten Stock und war nur über eine sehr steile Treppe erreichbar, also etwas problematisch für uns Senioren mit Gepäck. Zimmer und Bad sind sehr klein und leider nicht klimatisiert, was bei den 36° C, die wir am 25.06.2026 noch am späten Nachmittag hatten, nicht so schön war. Also flohen wir in den nächsten Pub, wo wir uns im schattigen Biergarten etwas abkühlen konnten.

Adam and Joanne were fantastic hosts. The property seemed well maintained and great location for visiting Bangor / Anglesey and North Wales in general. We would happily stay there again.

Gestore molto gentile e accogliente, mi è venuto anche incontro nel parlare visto che io la lingua inglese la parlo pochissimo e male. Camera molto pulita, bagno in comune ma in camera c’era comunque un lavandino. Posizione comoda vicino al centro e alla stazione degli autobus. Consiglio vivamente questa struttura

Charming, comfortable guest house with a lovely owner. Perhaps a little pricey for the size of the room, but the town is expensive generally. The location is close to the wharf and restaurants but a little bit of a walk away from the train station . buses are frequent however. The bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep. There aren’t a lot of hotels in Bangor, but this is a good one.

Y Garth is a simple, comfortable place to stay in Bangor. Joanne received me and was very polite and respectful. She showed me my room which was clean and smelled good, with a sink, tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom (shared) was also very clean, everything working properly and a pretty good shower. Although I only spent one night at Y Garth, I recommend it; it’s a good value for money.

Upon welcome I was told the WiFi basically doesn't work, where it only works with my room door open, which is something I'm not comfortable doing at all. The room really shouldn't be listed as having WiFi in this case, disappointing. Also the room only had a door to open rather than a window, so fresh air meant opening a door.

Y Garth was an excellent find with comfortable rooms, really friendly hosts, a nice atmosphere and close to the town centre and transport links. I can recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Bangor, particularly if you are keen to support a local business run onsite rather than managed by an absent owner. Dim byd o gwbl, roedd popeth yn ardderchog / nothing to dislike, all aspects excellent.

Location was great. Just a 5 min walk to the local pub and restaurants Adam recommended. And the pier is just 1 more minute. Lovely. Breakfast was very good. We don't eat a lot for breakfast so had toast and eggs which were cooked just right.

Not "didn't like" but perhaps thicker bath towels.

Clean, comfortable and great value for money. Staff was friendly and helpful when I needed a later check in due to train delays.

Only downside was I missed breakfast due to having to leave early for travel connections.

Everything was perfect. Adam and Joanne couldn't have done anymore, the welcome was lovely and I was shown everything I needed in the room. Breakfast was amazing and had a lovely chat with both of them. The room was immaculate, the cleanest hotel room I've ever been in. So many convenient things that I love to see, a plug by the bed and a lamp with a switch by the bed. I already can't wait to go back.

Adam and Joanne were lovely. The room was perfect for what I needed, plus the unexpected bonus of a balcony that caught the evening sun, with a table and chairs. Having a basin in the room was helpful, but the bathroom was only just outside my room.

Warm welcome and concise instructions. We were upgraded to a twin en-suite room rather than a double with shared facilities which was a bonus. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Nice and clean, comfortable, good breakfast and nice hosts. And the added bonus of parking.

Adam and Joanne are very lovely! They make you feel very welcome like you are visiting old friends, not strangers. The Garth is the epitomy of British bed & breakfasts- individual rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly guests. Location for Bangor (especially the beach & pier area) is perfect! Despite being on a main road, it is very quiet.

Very welcoming and let us drop our cases off early. That was greatt!! Which meant we had the day to see bangor and walk to Anglesey. The owners were lovely and would do anything for us. We had a cooked breakfast in the morning and that was really nice. Lovely clean guest house.

The room was very clean and had all you needed. It was a good size for the 3 of us and the beds were very comfy.

It’s a reasonably priced, older style guesthouse at the pier end of Bangor. The owners serve a good breakfast and are very helpful and friendly. There’s a pub that serves fish & chips close by, and it’s only a short distance into the main town for shopping and food. There is some parking on the property, but free street parking nearby.

The shared bathroom is a little spartan, and the shower cabinet small enough to be awkward for a larger person.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, die uns mit tollem Frühstück verwöhnt haben. Das Zimmer war zwar klein, hatte dafür aber eine große Terrasse hinten dran. Das Gemeinschaftsbad hatten wir ganz für uns, da das zweite Zimmer nicht vermietet war.

Die Heizungen waren etwas schwächlich, besonders die im Bad, wo auch noch das Fenster nicht ganz schloss. Im Zimmer gab's einen mobilen Heizkörper, damit wurde es doch noch ganz kuschelig.

I suggest herb teas as well as tea and coffee in the room.

Very friendly host. Good communication. The hotel is very well placed for local amenities. The room was clean and comfortable as was the bed. Slept well.

Minor point. Was good to have a kettle in the room with sachets of coffee and milk. No tea bags. Would have liked the option to have tea as I don't drink coffee. I could have asked for tea bags but got back to the room late and didn't want to disturb anyone.
