I did like the position of the hostell outside in a good environment, the good swimming pool and the calmness around.

I did not like so much the stuff. I had to ask for everything and they hardly talked but they were always on the phone.

The pool area is nice. Decent for the money

The drainage system needs work, it was raining and the pathway to get to our room was completely flooded. One of the staff members needed improvement on his customer service, he also needs to treat his pets a little nicer in my opinion.

Stayed here for a few days and had an amazing experience. The staff is kind and helpful, the common areas are great for meeting people, and the hostel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend it!

Cleanliness, comfortable bed, peaceful, swimming pool, good air-con, friendly staff, 50 cent water, swimming pool. It's a nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. I have stayed here inJune 26' and I will stay for a couple more weeks, maybe even longer. Brendan. June 2026'

The guys working were so lovely and Julie and Daniel their dog and cat too. The pool was amazing and the food was incredible!!

Our room had signs of mould/damp under the ac, you can smell it when you walk in, fine for a bit but longer stays this could make people ill

Cependant, l’état déplorable des chambres (araignées, fourmis, poils et cheveux) mériteraient un petit coup de propre, sans parler de l’état du jardin et du couloir… Nous avions pris des chambres avec ventilateur, peut être que celle avec la climatisation sont meilleures, en attendant le prix est attractif certes mais ça reste chère pour ce genre de services… Par ailleurs, certaines personnes consomment des produits illicites au bord de la piscine notamment et je trouve ça assez désagréable je ne comprends pas que ce soit autorisé (du moins dans des endroits communs…) Nous voulions également louer un scooter et il n’y en avait malheureusement plus pour nous

i wish they would care a little more of the dogs their, in 5 days i found 2 ticks around my bed ( i was always washing my hands and trying not to stay too long too close).

Everything was great! People are friendly and helpful! Amenities are great and everything is accessible.

Le personnel est accueillant et aidant. Les parties communes sont sympathiques et chaleureuses. La situation géographique est chouette : au calme mais l’accès au centre ville se fait facilement.

Le ménage n’est pas fait assez régulièrement dans le dortoir ainsi que la salle de bain du dortoir. Nous avons dû demander à ce qu’ils viennent le faire.

Had a fine stay at Yellow Star Hostel in Kampot. The pool is nice for chilling, the staff are friendly, and the overall vibe is relaxed. Nothing too fancy, but a solid spot for a few days in town.

The downside is that the bathroom water isn’t fully working, there are lots of mosquitoes, and the room and balcony aren’t always clean. Also, the stairs to the second floor need repairs for guest safety.

The staff was great. The food was good.

It was a little hard to find, signage on the main road would help. Even the tuk tuk driver didn't know where it was, google maps for the win. The room didn't feel clean, we were itchy and uncomfortable all night.

The staff are charismatic and helpful, motorbike rental made easy from the hostel so you can spend time seeing the area. The pool and facilities very nice, with the restaurant open 12 hours a day.

The location is slightly out of town but it is very easy and cheap to get a tuk tuk or hire a bicycle or a moped

Great location close to the train station . It's very friendly staff. The food is cheap a price is similar to the restaurant And so many dog and cat. location just 2 minutes from town by the scooter

Cafards dans la chambre. Propreté plus qu'à désirer . Nous avons dû nettoyer notre chambre nous même. Le propriétaire ne s'est même pas excusé. Il a été plus rapide pour encaisser son argent et plus méticuleux pour vérifier l'état du scooter à la fin de notre séjour plutôt que d'effectuer le ménage qu'il nous avait promis.

The pool

We did not have a good experience. The room was dirty, there were cockroaches in the bathroom, and lots of ants (not just a few here and there like you might expect in a rural setting—I mean ants in my bed). We asked to change rooms, and the staff seemed annoyed. The new room they gave us had clearly been closed up for a long time, it was dirty, and the fan didn’t work. We decided to leave and go to another hostel. The manager got upset again, and we didn’t receive any kind of apology. We found another place that was much better and in a better location.

A bit out of town

Everything was ok but the Indian looking Staff is very arrogant. I’ve been here more than a couple of times and even recommended it to my friends but this guy is really the worst! The owner should take a look at this guys attitude.

Hostel was fantastic and food little expensive it’s okay.. but they didn’t provide toothbrush and toothpaste. When ask to hostel owner he said we can’t provide..

The hostel was nice and well contained, with a great pool and food menu. The staff were nice and friendly. I had the Fan room so it was my own fault, but it was still hot; definitely opt for AC room if you can. Stay here if you want to stay away from the town.

The bed was suuper soft; you sink right in. The bathroom facilities could have been better. Location was a bit far away from the town and not walkable.

We had a nice private room. The swimming pool was clean and a nice olace to chill. The beds were quite hard and the blanked was to short but it was comfortable enough. Mosquitoes can enter the room easily through the bathroom so we had a lot of them in the bedroom.

Staff English speaking and very friendly. Always going the extra mile to make visitors feel at home. Enjoyed the cocktail happy hour and good food. Food well priced and value for money.

The place was really beautiful and spacious. The pool helped me cool off so many times after a long day haha! Also the staff was really kind and helpful. You can rent bikes or scooters for really cheap! The food was also pretty decent

It was a bit out of town, but with tuktuk or by a 20 minutes walk, I could go easily to the centre. Great variety of food options, although a bit pricey. The pool was great for a relaxing afternoon

Chill vibe

The staff were all very helpful and we loved all the dogs and cats. There was bike rental at the accommodation for convenience. We had the bbq during a stay which was tasty. The location is a bit out of the town however we knew this when booking and it didn’t bother us.

The outside area is lovely, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately my partner got food posting eating at the hostel. We also booked a room with out aircon, only a fan, and it was insanely hot, too hot to sleep.

Yellow Star is a lovely hostel. It's got such a chill vibe - with a pool (that's not too cold), lots of places to chill out (lounge chairs, hammocks), and a sweet bar. They have a pool table, a dart board, and several board games - if you ever decide to get out of the pool. This also makes it a very family-friendly hostel, as there are plenty of things to occupy children of all ages - and its not a 'party hostel' They also have a happy hour from 4-7, where they offer up some delicious cocktails. Also, because of its location, the sky is beautiful as the sun goes down. Then the hostel takes on a different character when the lights come on. It's a little far from the main part of town - but you can rent a bicycle for $1.50 - or a motorbike for a little more. If you're looking for a chilled hostel where you can relax by the pool, read a book, and grab a bike a explore a bit of the Cambodian countryside - Yellow Star will be perfect for you

The relaxed vibe

I had a great stay at Yellow Star hostel and recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a relaxing and comfortable spot. Friendly staff and lovely furry friends to play with. The live music, happy hour and bbq were a bonus. You can hire scooters and bikes and book your onward travels. It's a short Tuktuk ride into town and the pool is well maintained and a lovely way to cool off after a day touring Kampot.

Nice place with the swimming pool, people are so friendly ! Excellent coffee & cocktail !! The room was clean, we enjoy our time here !
