Funky Moon Kampot

I did like the view of Funky Moon and no noise voice easy to relax at there.

The point that i didn't like no water for drink and no towel for take shower.

I really enjoyed my stay, the location perfect right my the river chill really good price, the foods good staff friendly, the room clean, highly recommend,

We had an absolutely terrible experience with the staff here and will never return. Our first issue started with a complete lack of communication. Nowhere did we see that check-in closed at 10:00 PM, and no one bothered to call or message us beforehand to warn us. We arrived at 10:30 PM, unloading multiple heavy suitcases from our car, only to be met by a staff member who was visibly very drunk. While slurring his words, he unprofessionally claimed he "wasn't working that night" and that he had nothing to do with the hotel. Instead of doing the bare minimum to help us get our keys, he literally turned us away in the middle of the night. We were forced to pack everything back up, walk away in the dark, and scramble to find a local guesthouse. The next day, the nightmare continued. We returned at 11:00 AM hoping for some accountability or understanding. Instead, the morning receptionist bluntly told us we couldn't check in until 2:00 PM. When we pointed out the absolute absurdity of making us wait after being kicked out by a drunk employee the night before, he just hid behind "policy." We ultimately had to bypass him and call his boss, who immediately agreed to let us check in. While management seems reasonable, the actual staff on the ground are completely unprofessional, unhelpful, and a liability to the business. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere safe that actually cares about its guests.

For 5$ per night, this is perfect for solo travellers looking for budget price to stay. The view is superb. Mountain view and river all roll into one. I like the fact that we do not have noisy travellers around the bar area. The vibe is peaceful and quiet. No noisy tourists around which is a great thing. The music is also relaxed and slow which helps to make the vibe better for solo travellers that do not like loud places.

May be the food variety at the bar should be increased because the menu is kind of limited. The coffee tastes basic. Need to upgrade your coffee machine and coffee bean quality!

The location is ideal! I started every morning enjoying the marvelous views right from my balcony. While it is a quiet area, the city center is easily accessible, just 4 km away. The staff was also super friendly and helpful! Cheers, guys! 🤩

The room had no cups, kettle, hairdryer, or water. Additionally, the food rules were unreasonable: we were banned from eating outside (supposedly the restaurant's area) and banned from eating inside the room. It was a very inconvenient experience.

Fint läge vid floden med fantastisk solnedgång. Bra att det var möjligt att hyra moped.

Ibland var det svårt att kommunicera med personalen, samt att menyn var lite otydlig. Hade förväntat mig lite liv och socialt umgänge men det var ett rätt så lugnt ställe.

La struttura è davvero bella! Ideale per rilassarsi e passare del tempo lontano da tutti. Posizione ideale per vedere il tramonto mentre ci si rilassa sull’amaca. Personale gentilissimo! Camera carina, molto basic, ma alla fine bisogna solo dormirci:)

Unica pecca, non avevo la presa della corrente vicino al letto quindi è stato un po’ difficile per le sveglie

Não está muito bem tratado - as cadeiras de sol partidas sem colchão. A casa de banho cheira a esgoto. Os funcionários não foram tão amigáveis quanto costume. Não estavam muito interessados em trabalhar.

NOTHING!!! If you end up here. The best is to walk to Champa Lodge to hire a Kayak. They’re in better condition, cheaper and closer to the Green Cathedral Kayak route. Champa has great food. And so does Tertuila Restaurant, with a lovely view of the river.

Before I start; check all replies to low reviews. They’re all the same: This isn’t a fake booking! See photos attached. Dirty and unkempt. I booked a bed in a 4 bed dorm and was placed in a room with two members of staff! The room and floor obviously not cleaned for ages. Plug has to be forced sideways into the socket. Male member of staff in the room watching Anime at 2am and refuse to turn down sound. Pug dog sleeping right outside door, barking at every little noise. ‘Manager’ at the bar extremely unhelpful and ‘too busy’ Cigarette butts on floor right outside room. Staff coming in and out of the room at all hours after 23H00. One shouted at from the door at 7am to get up. Other one in bed with alarm going off at 7.20 am and not switching it off. After waking her up; obviously used snooze as it just went off 5 minutes later. I gave up on sleeping and checked out. I guess I slept a total of 2 hours.

Everyone that worked here was so friendly and so accommodating, it was just a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. They are also pet friendly and have pets of their own here who are so well behaved and cute !

Hated my stay at Funky Moon. The room was dirty, the price was overpriced, the staff were rude, and the food was terrible the burger especially. Definitely would not recommend.

I stayed here for one night and really didn’t enjoy it. The people were unfriendly, the food and drinks were disappointing, and the prices were far too high. I won’t be coming back.

Funky Moon Kampot is a noisy riverside spot with a tense atmosphere, unhelpful staff, and no real sunset view. The rooms feel dirty, the food is bland, and the deck isn’t very social not ideal for relaxing or meeting anyone. Overpriced and low on good vibes.

Terrible experience. No vibe at all, the river view was dull and disappointing. I regretted extending my stay two days already felt too long. The staff were indifferent, the beds uncomfortable, and the food far from good. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

If you’re heading to Funky Moon Kampot is one to avoid. The garden feels neglected, the hosts aren’t welcoming, and the rooms lack comfort hardly the place to relax or recharge. Not recommended.

The place was stressful and unpleasant to stay in. The dogs were annoying, especially the puppy (that even looks a bit wild, like a coyote). The room felt dirty and cramped. The mattress was uncomfortable. The staff was a low point, never really helpful and not friendly at all.

This was by far the worst place I’ve been to for what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable from the moment I arrived, and instead of being greeted warmly, the staff were distant, unwelcoming, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. To make matters worse, the whole reason I chose this place in the first place was the promise of puppies being part of the experience and there weren’t any at all. It felt misleading and disappointing. Overall, it was stressful instead of soothing, and I left feeling more frustrated than when I walked in. Definitely not a place I’d recommend if you’re looking to unwind.

I originally thought about spending several nights at Funky Moon Kampot, but one was already too much the views were underwhelming, the staff felt cold and unhelpful, the food was disappointing, and even the puppy didn’t brighten the experience. Sadly, it’s a place that felt far from home

Super affordable place in Kampot. I booked for one night, but ended up staying for a week! It has a cool social area with amazing views along the river. I tried a few dishes from their menu and they were all delicious. The staff is a mix of western and Khmer and they’re super helpful and sociable, which added to the experience.

I do not recommend this hotel based on my experience. The staff were unhelpful and rude, the room was dirty, and the location was very inconvenient.

A Fantastic Stay – Highly Recommend! I recently stayed at funky moon, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the warm hospitality continued throughout my stay.

Everything was super nice and chill - Stuff, chill area, food. Little bit outside of the city. Minimalistic room: no curtains on the top of the beds, no charger next to the upper bed and no light for every single bed. For me its not a problem, but maybe for others
