Une rencontre qui nous a marqué Un acceuil chaleureux, énormément de conseils sur les environs et nos futures destinations Sunanda nous a réservé un safari très agréable Petit déjeuner très bons L'hôte nous a préparé un dîner que nous avons apprécié Visite du jardin des épices, je recommande, très instructif Les logements sont simples mais fonctionnels. Pas d'eau chaude, je vous conseille de profiter de la douche le soir Un rapport qualité prix excellent

Je wordt ontvangen door een hele fijne familie die je graag meer uitleg geven over wat er in hun tuin groeit en waarvoor het gebruikt kan worden. De mensen hebben alles gedaan om de wifi in orde te krijgen, maar dat was helaas niet gelukt. Maar dat hebben we bij meer dan de helft van onze verblijven ervaren.

Tamelijk hoge treden om naar de slaapplaats te gaan.

Nous avons adoré ! Le propriétaire était incroyable. Il a rendu cette nuit parfaite. Un grand merci à lui. Il nous a organisé notre safari, un message… Il était au petit soin. Nous avons pu voir son père cuisiner un curry.

The place is amazing the host, his wife and his father where all so nice, they made us some tea, helped to organise everything for our stay in Habarana! He also showed us his beautiful garden and explained us everything, it was a beautiful stay!

Era tutto ECCEZIONALE, il posto é nella natura, posizione perfetta, il padrone sempre sorridente gestisce le camere con suo padre, un vecchino gentilissimo e disponibile, tutti i giorni ci davano l’acqua fresca di freezer filtrata, esperienza incredibile, siamo andati a dormire con un elefante che camminava dietro casa nostra e ci ha svegliato un branco di scimmie di passaggio, in tanti anni di viaggio una delle esperienze più belle di soggiorno.

Wow wow wow. First off I never normally leave a review. This place was one of the top 5 I’ve stayed in and I’ve been travelling for the past 2 years. It was so special, the owner and his father are so welcoming, so ready to help you with any requests and up for a good chat (if you want it) they gave me their time every single day and never once seemed put out. I was feeling a little lonely at this point in my trip but no more! They offer free herbal tea multiple times a day, a yoga mat and delicious meals. I first booked this place as it was a reasonable price but it offered so much more than that. I learnt many lessons about living a simple, present life. Thank you for everything. I will be back.

The place is magical. The place is a herb and spice garden that looks like a well cultivated jungle and is full of nice smells, palm squirrels, butterflies, birds and sometimes monkeys. There are two clean bungalows for the guests, each with a large clean terrace where we often sat and listened to the concert of the jungle. Behind the bungalows starts a large stretch of land that is left as wild jungle. There we observed many birds, a mangoose and the giant squirrel. The family is very nice and warm, and made us feel welcome and at home during our days there. We had nice talks with them, could get various types of tea whenever we wanted without charge. We liked the free tour through the spice garden so much, that we had another the day after. When we had headache, stomach problems and mosquito buits, their herbs helped inpressively. One time the family prepared lunch together with us. The food was always delicious and plenty. They gave very helpful advice for our tours, what to do best and what to avoid and how to get a reasonable price. They organised a nice elephant safari in Huhulu National Park which did not cost much and was wonderful, so that we did this safari the next day again. We were impressed by the family, their way of life, their knowledge, their opinions and warmth. They are excellent embassadors for their country. Many things they offered were for free and their intention seemed not not earn as much money as possible, but rather to find a common way good for all. We plan to come again next year, with all of my sons. We are looking forward to it. Thank you for the wonderful time we had.

We think everything was perfect.

One thing are the places you go, another are the memories you make. This Villa and, in particular the host, provides you with both, creating the most wonderful experiences and memories to take home with you. Sunanda's herbal gardens are out of this world, showcasing a huge variety of plants, with Sunanda proudly sharing his passion and craft. The rooms are clean, comfy, and private, making you feel like you are alone in the middle of paradise. The host provided us with delicious meals, even showing us how to make the yummiest dal!! Transportation to town is 5 minutes away and the Villa is directly on a road where you can take public transport to other locations (Dambulla for example). This homestay is special and those who visit will be awarded in spending time with this wonderful family in a unique location.

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad en zijn boven verwachting goed verzorgd door de eigenaar en zijn vader. Het ontbijt en de kruidenthee was heerlijk! De eigenaar geeft veel uitleg over zijn kruidentuin en heeft gezorgd dat we niks te kort kwamen. We hebben ook nog super lekkere Dahl gemaakt met de eigenaar en zijn vader. Tours heeft hij ook voor ons geregeld en denkt graag mee bij het plannen hiervan. Al met al een dikke aanrader❤️

距离镇中心的距离刚刚好，远离喧嚣又不会不方便。院子里种满了各种香料和草药，主人会一一介绍，也自己做很多草药产品。房间很干净也很舒服，住在院子里感觉像一个世外桃源。早餐很丰盛哈哈哈根本吃不完！晚餐吃到了主人的老婆炒的饭，香晕了狂炫两盘！老板人非常好，对于公共交通信息和旅行信息了如指掌，帮忙拦公交车，还推荐了一家family run的按摩，住的很开心～

房间没有热水（不过主人一家自己洗澡也没有热水），虽然天气很热，但是纯洗凉水澡还是有点儿冷🥶

I had a fantastic stay. The property is very peaceful with a beautiful garden, I slept so well. Great value for money. The area isn't super walkable but the main town is a 5min / $1 tuktuk away, and it's perfectly located for Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Ritigila and more. I ate breakfast and dinner there - very generous portions. But the highlight for me was meeting the owner. I've traveled around Asia for 1.5 years and met very welcoming and nice hosts, but I've never met anyone so kind, attentive and helpful. He genuinely cares about his guests having the best experience. He's also exceptionally professional. I felt privileged to have met him - I learned a lot from him about how to treat other people and what it's like to live a life according to your values. Wonderful man.

Een prachtige tuin waar we uitleg kregen over de verschillende kruiden. Hij had ook een heel klein kruiden en thee winkeltje.

Basic maar prima.

I had a lovely stay in the bungalow in nature. It is a nice and quiet place surrounded by the herbal garden of the owner. He showed us around the garden and made delicious dinner and breakfast. We also made curry together with him and his father. A really nice authentic experience!

Sunanda was very welcoming and nice to us and the location was calm and quiet. Had a car park and it was bang for the buck.

Je ne peux que vous recommander de réviser ici. Suranda est une personne exceptionnelle, j’ai passé beaucoup de temps à discuter avec lui. Quel bonheur ! Il va tout faire pour que vous passiez un excellent séjour, aussi bien pour vous donner des informations sur la vie locale que pour avoir un Tuktuk ou une jeep. Il peut aussi vous faire le petit déjeuner et le dîner en échange d’un petit supplément. Il me demandait toujours si tout se passait bien à l’endroit où j’étais et pareil quand la nuit commençait à tomber pour être sûr que j’allais bien. Je ne l’oublierai jamais. Que dieu te garde mon ami.

Our stay here was a wonderful experience. Sunanda was an excellent host, and his father was also a lovely person. We were given a tour of his herb garden. Un accueil chaleureux et plein d’attentions, un séjour riche de moments partagés et de merveilleuses plantes. Aussi grâce à lui nous avons pu avoir des contacts afin de réaliser notre projet documentaire, il nous a été d’une aide précieuse. Ps: Son père fait le meilleur chicken curry de la région ! Die absolute Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber. Wunderschön gelegen im Ayurvedischen Garten. Ein wunderbarer Ort um sich zu erholen und abzuschalten. Wir haben mit den Gastgebern Curry gekocht und wurden wie Familie behandelt, eine absolute Empfehlung.

Der beste Service! Ich habe immer sehr leckeren Tee bekommen. Der Gastgeber ist der freundlichste, der mir bisher in Sri Lanka begegnet ist. Ich hatte einen Unfall mit meinem Motorbike und er hat mich versorgt und meine Wunden gepflegt. Man hat einen eigenen netten bungalow für sich alleine. Er ist einfach ausgestattet aber schön und gemütlich. Für den Preis ist es perfekt.

A lovely cottage in nature. Perfect location to explore places such as Sigirya or Pollonaruwa. To go to the city center it costs you about 300 rupee for a tuk tuk. The owner was extremely kind, he arranged everything we asked him, to take the right bus or tuktuk and gave us all the advice we needed. One night we cooked together with him and his father who lives on the property. So nice to see how traditional Sri Lankan food is prepared. We got a tour in the herb garden and he gifted us a bottle of oil for my son's ear infection and a bag of home made tea. We had very nice talks about the various aspects of life. The breakfast was also delicious, something I haven't tried before in Sri Lanka. I would very much recommend this place, even if it's just to meet the owner!

A bit of noise from the road

A truly lovely and homely place to stay! The owner and his family are incredibly kind and genuine people who ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay. He also organised and booked activities for us to do around the local area which were really great. The place itself is beautiful, quiet and very relaxing- staying within the owners spice garden with lots of pretty butterflies and the room was very spacious and clean. The owner gave us a free tour of the spice garden, providing very interesting information on the use and remedies of each plant. Also had really nice local food cooked for us for breakfast and dinner. I’d highly recommend this great stay! Thank you for having us and we will definitely return when visiting Sri Lanka again😊

Sunanda was a super friendly host. The place is very calm, behind his spice & herb garden and right next to the jungle. There are a lot of Birds and Butterflies, sometimes Giant Squirrels and Monkeys but no dangerous animals. The rooms are simple but comfortable and there are moskito nets. Sunanda gave us a lot of tips and arranged a few activities for us without ever being pushy. We went on a Safari to the national Park and on Pidurangala Rock and really enjoyed those trips.

Suanada was so friendly to organise a few activities for us. We went on a Safari to the national Park, on Pidurangala Rock and to an Ayurvedic massage place. The latter was a bit expensive though, so in hindsight we'd recommend asking Sunanda to help you to arrange a fair price first in case you want to go there.
