Emplacement proche d'un parc national agréable Chambre spacieuse mais qui manquait un peu de propreté

Piscine pas propre, lavée après notre arrivé mais mal entretenu L'hébergement est placé proche d'un parc donc nécessite de toujours rentrer le soir en tuktuk (pour notre sécurité)

Le seul atout de cet etablissement est son emplacement

On a prevu de passer 3 nuitees mais apres la premiere nuit on a annule pour aller vers un autre etablissement... l acceuil etait chaleureux avec beaucoup de consigne... entre autre ne pas sortir le soir vu que cest dangeureux!!! Apres on a eu le droit a la carte du diner servi sur place!!! Des prix!!!! Du jamais vu sur tout le territoire je pense... on a vite deposer nos bagage et parti faire un tour vu que la nuit arrive rapidement... au retour on sest rendu compte qu on nous a offert un chalet qui ressemblait plutot a un poulaillet a lextremite du domene... une porte qui se ferme avec un simple mini blocus ( celui quon utilise pour les valises) lespace dans le quel on devrait dormir est sale plein d araignes lit plein d insecte une grenouille dans la douche pas de vitre sur les fenetres ni de moustiquaires... on a demande a change de chambre ils ont accepte a condition de payer plus... on a accepte ..ils nous emmene dans une chambre meilleure mais toujours riches en araignes et insectes ( je vous partage les photos de la 2eme chambre j ai pas la premiere car tellement horrible je suis partie en courrant) certe je comprend que si un logement est au milieu d une foret la probabilite de trouver des insectes existe...mais pas a ce point! On a demande la commande de la clim..ils ont dit qu elle etait on panne!! On a insiste ils ont accepte a condition de payet plus!!! Du coup la clim fonctionne! J ai voulu prendre une douche chaude.. chaudiere en panne.. bloquee par du sctoch... le lendemain matin un petit dej mediocre omlette a partager avec mon conjoint!! Qq tranches de pain et fruits..on a paye ...bien sur 0 geste commercial... il fallait paye 1000 en plus!!! Franchement du jamais vecu sur tte l ile!!!

The owner Madhu and her husband Ronaldo are exceptionally friendly and cooperative.

One road access is a bit narrow but it’s ok.

Ce petit hotel familial est admirablement bien tenu. Les gens sont gentils, généreux, souriants, calmes, discrets. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et servi à table avec beaucoup de fruits frais, notamment. De plus, quel plaisir de finir les journées en se rafraîchissant dans la piscine, après de longues marches. Notre grande chambre triple était bien aménagée et confortable avec des grands lits, une salle de bain avec eau chaude, un joli balcon, un frigo et une bouilloire, notamment. Nous n'avons manqué de rien. Nous avons aussi profité des repas du soir, qui était délicieux et copieux. Nous avons séjourné 5 nuits dans cet hôtel et c'est un coup de cœur absolu. A tel point que nous étions tristes de partir... Nous emportons ces précieux souvenirs avec nous. Depuis l'hôtel, nous avons visité une bonne partie du triangle culturel, la ville de Habarana est idéalement située pour partir en excursion. N'hesitez pas à demander des contacts à la patronne pour organiser un safari.

Sehr sehr angenehme Besitzerin und Personal. Die Übernachtung in 3 stockigen Haus ist sehr angenehm. Wir hatten erst das günstige Zimmer weiter hinten gebucht, aber das roch modrig und wenig natürliches Licht - entsprach einfach nicht unseren Bedürfnissen. Aufpreis für Vorderhaus war recht happig. Aber mit dem Gesamtpaket, der Leute vor Ort, hat es für uns gepasst.

Das Dreibettzimmer war größenmäßig geräumig, das Bad ebenfalls. Die Betten waren bequem. Ein großer und stets sauberer Pool lädt zum Baden ein.

Leider gab es keine Möglichkeit zur Ablage von Kleidung, Badutensilien usw..Bei drei Übernachtungen wäre es schon schön, Dinge aus dem Koffer ablegen zu können. Das Essen über die Besitzer ist sehr lecker und reichlich, jedoch im Verhältnis zum Preisgefüge im Land sehr teuer. Die Unterkunft ist nur mit Fahrzeug zu erreichen, abgelegen und im Elefantengebiet.

Afgelegen. Wij verbleven er tijdens een periode van regen en dan valt er niet veel te beleven.

Bardzo dobry nocleg, wspaniali, troskliwi, uczynni właściciele, załatwią wszystko: transport, masaż, safari ….. chyba nie takiej rzeczy której dla ciebie nie zrobią. Rezerwuj, nie wąchaj się, będziesz jak w rodzinie.

Super vriendelijke ontvangst, heerlijk eten, een mooi zwembad en de vriendelijke eigenaar die ons naar de top sites voerde en de safari regelde. Tel daar een mooie grote kamer bij en dan is maar 1 score mogelijk! 10.

We were extremely well attended to at the Spice hotel,with very welcoming and helpful hosts regarding anything we needed from food around the pool to lifts into town or to places we wanted to see There are 3 rooms as luxury accommodation in the purpose built house as well as 3 spacious accommodation bungalow rooms around the pool and a chalet bungalow without air conditioning.The new pool is pictured below. It was a lovely quiet place to relax listening to the local birds. The hosts planted the garden themselves and are extremely knowledgeable about local plants and their properties and benefits.

Il punto forte dell’alloggio è stato l’host, molto gentile, e ho potuto cenare presso la struttura. Sia la colazione che la cena erano molto buone, e le aree comuni dell’alloggio erano accoglienti e confortevoli. La struttura è immersa in un bellissimo giardino di spezie e alberi, quindi ci si sente completamente immersi nella natura. È dotata anche di una piscina, che però io non ho utilizzato. Purtroppo c’è stato un disguido nella prenotazione e non ho soggiornato nella camera che pensavo di aver prenotato. La soluzione alternativa proposta non ha pienamente soddisfatto le mie aspettative, ma l’host si è comunque prodigato per trovare un’opzione alternativa, e alla fine il problema è stato risolto.

Un aspetto da migliorare è stata la pulizia della stanza. Probabilmente questo è stato influenzato da un piccolo disguido nella prenotazione, che mi ha portato a soggiornare in un’altra sistemazione. Inoltre, la stanza non era dotata di acqua calda. Per chi ha spirito di avventura e ama l’immersione nella natura, questa esperienza può essere davvero piacevole e unica. Tuttavia, chi cerca alcuni comfort di base potrebbe trovare questa soluzione meno adatta.

Secluded location inside the "jungle". Owners (Madhu & Ronald) are very nice and helpful. Ronald organized tours in the area (Sigiriya), and dropped us at the railway station on the last day, I sprained my ankle and Madhu provided free aryuvedic massage, which helped a lot.

Wir waren für diesmal in einer traditionellen Lehmhütte untergebracht. Immerhin mit WiFi..... Doppelbett, Moskitonetz, Nasszelle, Steckdose, Lampen. Abendessen und am Morgen das Frühstück von den Inhabern zubereitet, köstlich! Vor der Weiterreise noch eine Führung durch den Gewürzgarten. Übrigens: für die Komfort - Verwöhnten gibt es auch Zimmer der gehobenen Art. Mit allem Pipapo!

Wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Zeit im Spice Village Hotel mitten im Dschungel Uns wurde jeder Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen und alles getan, damit wir uns rundum wohl fühlen! Den Pool hatten wir meistens für uns und die Führung durch den Garten war sehr schön. Ein Nashornvogel ist über uns hinweg geflogen!

Clean and spacious room with a balcony, a little out of the main town but set amongst the trees and spice garden of the owners. Incredible value for money, the hosts were so accommodating we immediately felt like we were at home. Be sure to enjoy the breakfast and dinner cooking, we ate every meal at the accomodation for three days and left with bellies full of Sri Lankan food. The pool is a short walk from the property but don’t let that deter you, there are lounges to enjoy the sun. Owners organised everything from day trips, to laundry to our drop off at the local bus stop. Wonderful stay! Highly reccomend.

Property was perfect

Taking a step back and comparing Spice Village to other hotels and restaurants we have been to over the last 3 weeks, I can only say that it was great experience of Sri Lankan hospitality and genuine kindness. We very rapidly felt like friends rather than clients. We have been offered cooking demonstrations, garden tour, tea party,… you name it. Our two hosts were wonderful and put a lot of effort in conveying an unforgettable image of Sri Lanka. Moreover Madou is a great cook and prepared all kinds of dishes not on the menu card, delicious traditional SL cuisine.

Madu en al het personeel waren geweldig!!! Wat een warm welkom! We zijn enorm in de watten gelegd met goed eten, zelfs een kookcursus, tips voor de omgeving en vooral oneindig veel liefde. Een geweldige tijd!!

A beautiful place surrounded by nature. The rooms are welcoming and impeccably clean. Laundry service is available. A generous breakfast with delicious fruit is offered. There's a gorgeous garden.

In the middle of the jungle along an almost secret path , Habarana Spice Village touches the edge of the Minneriya National Park. Madu is a wonderful host providing warm welcome, exceptional Sri Lankan food, and beautifully kept comfortable accomodation. There is access to a very nice pool set in the garden in the small hotel a couple of minutes walk away. Madu arranged a very helpful tuk tuk driver to take us to various places on the local itinary. She also arranged a jeep for tour of local eco park where we saw many elephants. If you want a taste of the real Sri Lanka. This is it.

The hosts really were exceptional in the level of service they delivered, and the meals were outstanding. We felt part of the family, and nothing was too much trouble. The location and ambience really are something special, with beautifully kept herb and spice gardens in a quiet rural location. We had a lovely stay in a comfortable and spacious room, some fascinating visits to local points of interest, and relaxing time spent on our balcony and at the pool. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

No fruits in breakfast

Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner are amazing and change every day. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Wifi works well, A/C too. The area is near the park, so quite remote and relaxing.

It's 45min to walk to town from the hotel but you can get a tuk-tuk. Additionally, given the hotel is next to a National Park, it is not safe to walk at night given elephants are going around.

Very friendly owner. The lady is very knowledgeable about plants and she helped us for some issue we had in our travelling. She even offered to take us to the New Year celebration and drive us back which we did not do as we had other plans. Peaceful location. Beautiful spice garden.

You need a vehicle or a driver to move around

We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed tasty breakfasts and a good time with the hosts. Internet is very fast. Rooms are clean and bathroom is modern. Thanks to the really friendly hosts for staying at their new hotel.

I would thoroughly recommend staying at Spice Village. The location is beautiful, amidst beautiful woodland but only a few hundred yards from the main road. Our hosts made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and we left feeling part of the family. We were given an educational tour of the spice garden and a massage! The meals were home cooked and plentiful. The rooms are very large, the wifi excellent. It is ideally situated for visiting Sigiriya or Pidurangala Rocks - just 15 minutes drive - and also Minneriya NP for which our hosts organized our own private jeep.

I had a great stay here right on the edge of the National Park. The room was large and exceptionally clean and my lovely host gave me a in depth tour of the grounds explaining the uses and medicinal properties of all the plants there. The staff also made me meals with produce from the garden and catered for my Western tastes with well prepared meals. On learning of a problem with my foot I also received a massage using the products of the garden. I can’t recommend this place highly enough Greg The professor
