Amwaj Blue Cabana Arugambay

First of all, the place has a huge potential. I really liked the garden, which they took care of very well. The direct access to the beach is the absolute highlight. Fais, one of the employees, and the night guard are extremely friendly and nice people to be around.

Unfortunately, the toilet was leaking, which made the bathroom dirty. The electricity shut down , which of course is not their fault, but no generator could be provided. The breakfast is not enough and also it does not taste very good. Also, it changes in size every day.

No ac, far from the main area, and the wifi went off the last 2 days.

Se si sta cercando più tranquillità rispetto alla città è un buon posto, in ogni caso non c'è nessun servizio intorno per cui si deve sempre andare ad Arugam Bay per qualsiasi minima necessità.

Assenza totale del segnale Wi-Fi nel bungalow in cui abbiamo soggiornato per due giorni. Scarsa attenzione del personale nella fase di check-in ed accoglienza approssimativa, dovendo richiedere più volte i servizi minimi quali carta igienica e saponi, teoricamente inclusi. Porta del bagno che non si chiude rendendo nulla la privacy fra gli ambienti. Colazione molto basica.Nella stanza era assente qualsiasi mobile accessorio oltre al letto. Basso livello di inglese del personale presente in struttura ed assenza del responsabile presso la struttura per poter rispondere di persona alle nostre richieste di chiarimento dei disservizi. Complessivamente esperienza purtroppo negativa.

Ontbijt had veel beter gekund, bijvoorbeeld door drinken aan te bieden. Personeel was niet vriendelijk en moest steeds gevraagd worden door ze wakker te maken

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Authentisch, wie die Einheimischen leben. Einfach aber gut. Vom Zimmer aus hört man das Meer rauschen. Katze und Hund sind auch da.

Location of this accommodation perfect if you like sunrise walks. Its outside of the city beach so you will meet maybe one other person walking there. Apparently you can spot turtles there as well I didn’t. 20 mins walking to main surfing point. 15 mons walking to croc rock with amazing views and crocs in river. Room has AC and was very clean.

Wifi doesn’t work. Its on and off. Not at all in the room. Blankets for sleeping are ridiculously small and thin (similar to tea towel). (2 small pcs per couple). Its nice to have breakfast however we got 1 cup of dhal , 1 rotti (taste was really good) and 4 toasted pieces of bread. Bit of butter or jam would be nice to have otherwise you’d eat dry bread. There are hammocks but unfortunately pretty uncomfortable. Only cold water.

The property is about 5 minutes away from the main beach area by tuk-tuk, which I really appreciated. The area is much quieter and less touristy, making it a peaceful place to relax. If you're looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a more laid-back atmosphere, the location is a great choice. The surroundings are calm, and it offers a nice break from the busier parts of Arugam Bay. The staff were also friendly and helpful during my stay.

I understand that I booked a cabana and not a fully enclosed room, but it would have been helpful if insect screens had been installed to reduce the number of small insects coming inside. I also found the bathroom design unusual. Although it was private, it was not fully enclosed. When I stepped outside, I noticed that parts of the bathroom could be seen from above, which made me feel less comfortable and reduced the sense of privacy. The number of insects was another issue. There were many small insects in the cabana, especially at night, which made it difficult to relax and sleep comfortably. The property is beachfront, which initially seemed like a major advantage. However, I was informed by a staff member that swimming in front of the property is not recommended because the water is very deep and conditions can be unsafe. While this is not the fault of the property, it is something potential guests may want to be aware of, as the beachfront location may not offer the swimming experience some travelers expect. Overall, the location is beautiful, but better insect protection, improved bathroom privacy and clearer information about the beach conditions would help set guest expectations.

The cabana is beautiful inside.

The towels smelled. A very unpleasant smell. When I informed the staff, they didn't pay much attention to it. They gave me a towel that was hanging to dry in another cabana. They also said there was no food, no wifi. We had to go back to town to get food. There was construction going on, so the noise and natural beauty were ruined. There was a lot of noise in the morning. It's very difficult to recommend. I don't like this place or the staff.

The people were very nice and welcoming, smiling and warm. It is located right next to the beach, away from the city center, which can be very busy and crowded. The place has a real nice beach vibe.

Nice calm place. Clean. Near by sea We have seen the sunrise . Very friendly people specially Mr . Faiz , he associated with people in a nice manner and friendly. Now construction going on there still they keeping clean too. If the construction completed that will be most demanded place sometime.

Very peaceful and away from the main town. The beach is lovely, but the waves are big. We saw a nesting turtles here as well. Faiees there is a great host!!

Very cozy cabin, so close to the sea! Amazing location, you could't hear any street noise. It was tidy and comfortable. Big bed. Electric kettle for tea / coffee. We really enjoyed our stay here. Good value for the money.

Things look different now than they do in the pictures. There is a construction going on right in front of the cabin. No hanging hammocks, as you would expect going through the listing pics. Wifi did not reach our cabin (which was the closest one to the sea). And we never got any towels after asking for it.

Really chill private Rooms for a good price. The staff "Nafarullah" and "Faies" were always nice and helpfull.

Wifi was not good. Without an own vehicle the location would be annoying.

Fais et le manager sont deux hommes très gentils et serviables. Ils sont là à chaque fois que vous avez besoin d’eux pour vous aider. Les cabanes sont simples mais efficaces à 50 mettre de la mer Merci pour votre accueil et à bientôt

Tolle Anlage. Das beste sind die beiden Hosts Nafarullah und Faies die sich großartig um uns gekümmert haben. Essen, Transport, sogar ein BBQ haben sie organisiert. Die Anlage ist direkt am Meer so dass man jederzeit einen kleinen Kamp gegen die Wellen starten kann. Allgemein eine sehr ruhige Gegend. Ein einfacher Supermarkt ist wenige Minuten entfernt. Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet und bietet die Möglichkeit auch selbst zu kochen. Betten groß und bequem mit gutem Mückennetz

Sehr lieber Host, der sehr leckeres Frühstück zubereitet. Es gibt einen Strandzugang und es ist sehr ruhig dort.

Convenient location, about a 15 min walk to the city centre and great ocean views! Can easily enjoy the Sunrise from here as the beach is right outside. Walking distance to the crocodile rock too, from where you can watch Elephants as well. All the facilities were good, nothing bad to say at all. Especial mention to Faiz, the host, very friendly and helpful. He makes sure the place kept well for its guests. Good man!

Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am schönen Pasarichenai Strand südlich von Arugam Bay und besteht aus 4 sehr schönen, einfachen, sauberen Cabanas mit jeweils eigenem Bad und kleiner Terrasse. Die Bäume im Garten sind noch recht klein, aber alles ist hübsch angelegt und bietet auch Hängematten und einen schattigen Frühstücksplatz. Das Sri Lankische Curry zum Frühstück war außerordentlich lecker und sehr reichlich! Wir konnten auch völlig unkompliziert eine Lagunen-Bootstour über die Unterkunft organisieren. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und empfehlen diese Unterkunft sehr gerne weiter!!

Die Unterkunft liegt nicht im trubeligen Arugam Bay, sondern etwas außerhalb. Wir hatten ein eigenes Auto und waren somit trotzdem flexibel. Vielleicht ist manchem die Lage zu abgeschieden. Mit Tuktuks ist der Weg in die Stadt aber natürlich kein Problem.

Propre et parfait Emplacement au calme (à 15 minutes à pied de la rue principale et 20/25 de « l’animation »)

Quelques filouteries de la part du personnel pour les services proposés sur place : - on avait commandé 2 portions de riz frit pour 2 personnes pour 1600 roupies au final il nous a apporté 4 assiettes à 500 chacune (2000 roupies en tout pour la même chose) - on a demandé à laver du linge via leurs service de laundry et il a sur-pesé de 2kg le linge - le monsieur nous avait commandé 2 tuktuks pour Pottuvil à 500 par couple et on nous a demandé le double à l’arrivée alors qu’on avait bien re confirmé le prix Rien de bien grave

Las cabañas son muy acogedoras y el personal muy amable. Están situadas un poco apartadas del centro del pueblo, pero con moto o tuktuk la distancia es muy corta. La playa está justo al lado, el sitio es muy recomendable

If you're looking for a quieter spot Amwaj Blue is perfect! Just the sounds of the sea rolling, I slept like a baby. The cabanas are quite new, the gardens are very nice and growing well. Fais (certainly not spelt correctly, sorry!) is a very kind and helpful person, he looked after our family so well and produced some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Big fan of his dhaal! They have a tuk-tuk available for you to hire to self-drive, or you can grab a local one. Just a few minutes into the busy centre of Arugam Bay or to the surf beaches.

Spiaggia difronte deserta e molto silenziosa. Abbiamo prenotato tutte e 4 le capanne a disposizione quindi l’intera struttura era per noi

Capanne molto rudimentali, scarsissima pulizia, bagno praticamente inaccessibile dal caldo che faceva in quanto è coperto da plexiglas e il calore si accumula inesorabilmente.

It's a quiet little place away from the traffic and chaos and yet not too far from the hustle of the main centre. The rooms were extremely clean, the bedsheets towels were clean and the bed was comfy. The open shower was lovely and I loved it after a day at the beach. Mr Faiz was a pleasure to deal with and always smiling. It's slightly a bit away from the touristy eating spots but there are enough local places around. Would definitely come back next time in Arugambay

The beach was not a leisure swimming beach. Would stay away and instead go to crocodile rock for sunset which is a 5min walk away from the property.

Sehr süße Strandhäuschen, sehr freundliches Personal (vor allem Fais). Das Meer ist direkt vor der Haustüre, zwar sehr große Wellen, aber trotzdem sehr toll zum schnell ins Wasser springen. Fais hat uns außerdem zwei Mal ein sehr leckeres Frühstück gemacht! Insgesamt eine sehr besondere Unterkunft mit Wellenrauschen zum Einschlafen inklusive :)

Das Wlan hat leider nicht funktioniert und die Lage ist etwas abseits des Zentrums - jedoch auch schnell mit dem Roller in 5 Minuten oder zu Fuß in 20-25 Minuten erreichbar.

Emplacement idéal pour être au calme, tout en étant proche de l’agitation de Arugam bay et dans la bonne direction des spots de surf. 4 petites cabanes en bois constituent l’hôtel qui est donc à taille humaine. Hamacs, sable, et la mer à deux pas ! Idéal avec un scooter: ils nous ont aidé pour une location de deux jours. Très bon rapport qualité prix!

Petit déjeuner très léger et sommaire pour le prix

È fuori da Arugambay, ci vogliono 5 minuti di tuk tuk o 20 a piedi. Ma è anche fuori dal casino e dal traffico. In compenso quando dormi senti l’oceano, ed è una cosa meravigliosa e appena fuori dalla struttura hai la sabbia. La casetta è essenziale, nella mia non c’era l’aria condizionata ma con le pale sul soffitto stavo bene.

L’unica cosa è che quando tira vento il tetto fatto di fibre naturali cadeva in po’ di fibra sul letto e per terra. Lo staff è sempre stato disponibile a pulire su richiesta.

Faiz, der einzige Angestellte ist ein äußerst freundlicher, höflicher, zuvorkommender und fleißiger junger Mann, der einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen abließt. Er hat uns jeden Tag aufs Neue begeistert! Das Frühstück hat er uns jeden Tag frisch zubereitet und es war außergewöhnlich schmackhaft. Alles an diesem Ort entspricht genau der Beschreibung des Inhabers. Man schläft jede Nacht zum Rauschen der Wellen ein und spürt den sanften Wind auf der Haut. Es war ein einzigartiges Erlebnis!

Really wonderful stay!! They have beautiful beach cabanas in an amazing garden with wonderful plants. The bed is comfortable, everything was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. They gave me back the money when I had to leave one day earlier than expected.

Calm and quiet place to stay. The garden is really pretty and Pais the host is very friendly - he also cooks very nice food ☺️

A little far away from the Main Street

Beautiful area right on the beach, wonderful cabanas, very nice staff! The bed is really comfortable. The location is a bit remote from the main street, but easily reachable by bike. I truly enjoyed my stay, even extended it a bit. Wishing the best!

A newly built, nice set of cabanas! It’s a clean and comfortable place with all the basics nicely addressed at their best. Faise was really helpful and kind. The neighborhood is quiet, and there’s easy access to the beach. The only con one might face is that it’s slightly away from the hotspot of Arugam Bay, as it’s located in a residential beach area. Both aspects were actually plus points for us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Cabana and can honestly say it was a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, and walking distance to the Crocodile rock and Elephant rock. The cabana itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, I highly recommend Beach Side Cabana to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing beach getaway.

I was truly impressed by the comfort and cleanliness of this place—it exceeded my expectations! The room was very satisfying and conveniently located near the beach, making our stay even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Mr. Faize for his warm hospitality and exceptional care for his guests. We had a wonderful experience!

Use water absorption carpet to bathroom and please provide mug and bucket and meals

It was simple and very clean.it only take 5min to reach arugambay beach.highly recommended.

Comfortable hut directly at the beach and in walking distance to Crocodile Rock and Elephant Rock. We were there with our tuktuk and it was only a short drive to the center. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

The hut could have a little bit more storage space, for example shelves, hooks to hang things

Greatest stay in Sri Lanka by a mile. 10 out of 10 is not even an exaggeration. The rooms a brand new and everything is really perfect and the host is awesome. You really get a beach and surf vibe there. The location is just a 2min scooter drive away from the middle of arugam bay. Would always come back again. But be careful if you choose this apartment because leaving it will be kind of hard.
