Rivinu Place Arugambay

I highly recommend staying here. I stayed at 4 different lodgings in Arugam Bay, and this was by far the best. This is one of those places where you can tell the hosts will do anything to make their guests comfortable, including an outdoor fan to make the patio an enjoyable experience. My room (but not all rooms) had a kitchen stocked with everything I needed, including a blender, kettle, pots/pans, etc. The location is perfect because you have quick access to both the main drag and the beach, yet are tucked away enough that you don't get all the noise.

Wifi was spotty. Also, I wish they had cold water for purchase on site.

Die Lage war super, innerhalb von 5min hat man den Strand erreicht. Das Tiny House war toll eingerichtet, das Bad modern und die Unterkunft an sich sauber. Wir haben gut geschlafen, der kleine Wald verbreitet eine angenehme Stimmung.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat für uns nicht ganz gepasst, da ein Frühstück nicht inklusive war. Auch hatten wir einige Käfer im Zimmer. Das Personal war nett, aber weniger kommunikativ, offen und hilfsbereit, wie in den anderen bisherigen Unterkünften hier in Sri Lanka.

Die Lage war super schön und ruhig. Man brauchte nur ein paar Minuten zum Strand und zu den tollen Restaurants und Cafés in der Gegend. Die Unterkunft war sehr gemütlich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Beleuchtung war etwas dunkel. Vielleicht sollte man bessere Glühbirnen oder extra Lampen aufstellen.

Beautiful room, our favourite room in all of our Sri Lanka trip Bathroom was so aesthetically pleasing and the bed was do comfortable too. We saw a monkey outside our room and could hear them playing in the room, very fun! Quiet location but close enough to the main road that everything is a short few minutes walk away. Nice gym about 5 mins walk away Beach within a few minutes walk Hosts were so kind and friendly

Very nice modern, well appointed room in a quiet garden setting with occasional monkey visitors. The property was an easy walk to the beach and Main Street.

There was no hot water but it wasn’t really a problem.

La ubicacio! Un lloc tranquil, allunyat dels bars i del bullici dels centre, pero suficient a prop per anar caminant a tot arreu. Es respira un ambient tranquil. Estas en un pati ple de plantes i flors ben cuidades, precios! L’amo es veia una persona molt tranquila i amable, cuida molt els detalls del lloc.

La situacion y el jardin.

Las cabañas sin aire acondicionado son calurosas y cuando te vas a la playa....tienes que dejar las ventanas cerradas para que no entren monos o ardillas...la verdad es que podrian poner algun tipo de reja para poder ventilar la estancia cuando no estas dentro.

Best location best family everything was great and comfortable

Exceptional and peaceful stay. Located in the peaceful Buddhist neighborhood, it’s just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and bars, yet remains very quiet and relaxing. We loved spending the hottest hours of the day in the beautiful garden, enjoying the shade and tranquility away from the busy main road. The owners are a beautiful family who were incredibly kind. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arugam Bay.

La localisation est incroyable ! Juste à côté de la plage. Le logement est propre, spacieux et confortable. L'hôte est tres gentil et serviable.

Jolis établissement dans un beau jardin près de la plage avec un bon rapport qualité prix.

C’est entièrement de ma faute.J’avais choisi une chambre sans AC et les nuits étaient étouffantes . Je vous conseille AC

One of the best and luxurious places to stay in arugam bay. Very friendly owner and always fast with response. Close to the beach and also to the city. Lots of restuarant sa and food stalls around. Feels like living in the jungle at the beach. Would highly recommend staying here. Also perfect for couples. Or friends of pairs.

There very little not to like about Rivinu place. The payday could maybe be a little stronger but worked perfect haha.

Location is great, not even a five minute walk to the beach and main strip of shops. The room was perfect super clean and nice property with garden and the shared kitchen is amazing!

Wifi dropped in and out a little bit in my room.

This homestay has a really nice vibe. Great value for money and the best location in A Bay, easy walk to the surf and main beach. Would recommend to other travellers.

Die Atmosphäre des Zimmers im ersten Stock umgeben von Bäumen ist wunderschön. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer wird auf Wunsch gereinigt.

אהבנו הכל במקום! החדרים מאוד נוחים, מיטות טובות, מזגן מקפיא, מיקום אחלה ובעיקר מאוד מטופח ויפה.

לא ידענו שיש מטבח משותף! היה לנו חסר מקרר למים ורק ביום האחרון גילינו אז התבאסנו אבל אם היינו יודעים המקום היה מקבל 10

It was lovely place very close to the beach and 5 walk to shops and restaurants. Super nice place to chill because of the many plants around that make nice shade. Owner was very helpful and friendly. I would really recommend this place!

Location is perfect, it’s just 5min walk from the Baby Surf spot, Main point is 7min walk from the hotel. Room was clean and air-conditioned. We really enjoyed the terrasse from which we could enjoy the garden. We also stayed extra two nights and the host arranged it with no issue.

There’s no breakfast served at the hotel but there’s a small kitchen outside. It is quite well equipped but unfortunately some guests do not clean after themselves

The place is just 5 minutes walking from the beach. Tharanga is a really good manager and will help you with almost anything you need (Kumana Safari, tuk tuk drives, etc). He lives there with his lovely and kind family. The A/C works really good and the room was quite big with 2 floors. It has a hose in the room entrance which is very practical.

Although not a problem for me (maybe a bit for my gf) there was no hot water in the shower. Amenities a bit basic. Sometimes there are some power outages.

Our best place to stay in the city, very clean, close to the beach and in the middle of nature. The family is also very nice.

Sehr nette Familie, tolle Lage und das Zimmer hat echt alles was man braucht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

The garden of Rivinus is super nice, loads of trees and plants. Rivinu is very helpful host and keeps his place clean and neat, they live here with his fam. I met some super cool people here as well, though it is mostly couples, we were accidentaly here a small bunch of solo travellers. Also the ppl you meet here are a bit older, which for me is great as well, as I'm not lookinh for a teenage crowd.

A wonderful, quiet oasis, situated down a lane in the quiet part of town, yet only minutes from the beach and the main surf break. Rivinu Place is family owned and run, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The cabana we stayed in was clean and comfortable, situated in the lovely tropical garden. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would stay here again, we loved it so much that we extended our stay from 1 week to 4

The location of the guesthouse is perfect, away from the busy main street and beach yet only a few hundred meters walk away. A very peaceful vibe, very friendly owners who helped us woth renting a scooter and also did our laundry. Would definitely recommend going there, and would love to go back myself!

An amazing property that has been decorated wonderfully around the cabins so you are surrounded by nature- there is a pond with fish, along with lots of beautiful plants to walk through to get to your room. The cabin we had was great, a 2 floor home with a nice modern bathroom and a comfortable bed. Despite the actual cabin being basic in its build, it came with both air con and a fan which worked perfectly in the heat. WiFi worked well. The property has lots of nice touches: the water tap/hose outside your room so you can wash your feet to remove sand and also clean the floor area in front of your door, the kitchen being available to guests so you could keep drinks refrigerated and make food, along with the nice communal seating space outside that had plug sockets and cables so you could sit outside whilst charging your devices. The staff were amazing, always there to help you and clean your room upon request. We were also greeted with a bottle of coke each as we arrived which was very welcoming. This place is fairly new, but I’m sure it will receive many guests as it’s a hidden gem in Arugam Bay tucked away from the main road.

I’m unsure if the shower was supposed to have hot water or not: it didn’t have hot water for 99% of the time, but then when having 2 separate showers in the mornings I had hot water for 2 30 second intervals and then back to cold. It would be great if the property offered consistently hot water for showers. We also used the laundry service offered and a number of white tops came back with orange stains on that we can hopefully get out elsewhere.

We really really enjoyed our time here, we had the double room with garden view which was a separate little house with a porch surrounded by the beautiful garden of the property. The location was perfect for the beach, main point and the city while still being in a calm neighborhood without noisy street or loud bars. The staff was super friendly, organized transport from Colombo, there was a clean and nice community kitchen and the room was equipped with everything you need (hangers, a wardrobe, a table, soap,…). Highly recommend!

Perfect location! The room was spacious and clean. There was an issue with the power supply (very common in Sri Lanka) and the owner tried to fix it straight away and also offered us to move to another room.

Communication wasn't great. At our arrival we were not given any information about the use of the shared kitchen, or breakfast options. So we went to have breakfast somewhere else

The place is at a great location, super close to the main surf point and it has a wonderful yard that makes you feel like you are living in the jungle, such I loved . The family that owns it is super sweet and welcoming as well. Very good value for money.

Very comfortable bed with moskitonet. Nice, modern bathroom with a big shower. Balcony with table and chairs. The accomodation is in a quiet street, 10 min. walking distance to the point and 5 min. to the street with restaurants and cafés. Outside shower for cleaning yourself after surfing. Owners are very friendly!

They have a little kitchen, which is nice. But sometimes plates, cups or a waterboiler in the room could be useful.

We spent 5 nights at Rivinu Place and were blown away by the hospitality of him and his beautiful family. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, kept cool with a fan and with a lovely patio out the front for relaxing. He was always on hand to help us and provide us with advice on what to do. He was very flexible and accommodating with our check in time after we arrived very early in the morning after a night bus. We would have loved to stay longer but it was (unsurprisingly) booked out. Great value for the amazing service he provides. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing location, walking distance to the main point and great cafes in a quiet neighbourhood. The property is well maintained, and each cabana feels private and clean. Tharanga and his family are fantastic hosts, very welcoming and with helpful recommendations for the area.

The perfect spot for surfers. Very close the beach but far enough from the beachbar sound installations to get your much needed rest.

My partner and I spent 3 weeks at Rivinu Place and loved every minute. The location is unbeatable – just a stone's throw away from the main surfing beach, and a 5 minute walk to the centre of town. But for me, what truly sets this place apart is how peaceful it is. The rooms are surrounded by a beautiful garden that's full of birds. The property is beautifully maintained by the family who runs the hotel. They are such warm, kind people, and the whole place feels very welcoming. Whether you're coming to Arugam Bay to surf, or just to unwind, this place is a great choice! Very highly recommended!

It is a really nice place managed by a family. They are really kind and can help you when they can. It is really well located near the beach and the main road. The room is nice and clean with a big bed in every room.

At night, sometimes there were no water to take shower. And the room could use more adapter for electric plugs. Moskitos.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have all the amenities you need with plenty of shelves and tables to store your luggage. The location is also great. It's located very close to the best beach spots and has plenty of restaurants around, but is also quiet and peaceful. We slept with the windows open and weren't bothered by any noise. The addition of the community kitchen is great, and the kitchen was always clean. Extended our stay here because it was such good value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful brand new loft style cabana cabin

The cabana I stayed in was new, apparently I was the first guest. With a good workingn a/c, a nice patio with a bench to sit at and a big bathroom upstairs. The host is very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom has a window overlooking the garden with no blinds (they obviously hadn't thought about it. I asked if they could cover the window and this was immediately sorted. The lights in the cabana do give a nice atmosphere, however, I needed a bit more light at times as it is a bit dark.
