Location and Cleanliness

Mahesh is a very friendly and helpful host, helping to organise transport and he really supported us a lot in solving a problem we had with a pre-arranged driver. The accommodation is well equipped with air-conditioning, hot water and a comfortable bed and very well situated only a 2 min walk away from the main temple and close to good restaurants and small shops. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to beautiful and impressive Hampi.
Clean rooms though the building is old. The dealing person Mr.Mahesh is courteous and helpful.
Parking is not available at the facility, he arranges to park in the bus stand. He shuttles the luggage in auto and in scooter and guest has to walk for about 500 mtrs. The street is feasible for auto to enter, so his mode seems to be appropriate. But the guests should know the facts.
Very friendly and helpful staff at this guest house. We arrived early in the morning and we could drop of our backpacks in their storage room before we could check in. Mahesh recommend us good restaurants and things to see in the area. The room is clean and the place has a little roof terrace where you can sit and watch the big temple. Great location! Mahesh also recommended us the rickshaw driver Parushu that he knew. Parushu was great as well! He came to pick us up in the morning at the bus stop and he was super friendly already from the start. He did not just transported us to the guest house, but also took us to a sunrise point to see the sunrise without any extra cost. We booked him for two days to drive us around and he was so helpful. He told us all the stories about the different temples and gods in the area. After our two days he also helped to book us sleeping bus tickets to our next destination.
The bed is a bit hard, but that seems to be the case in many places in India. The Monkeys had shewed of the wifi cable so we had some trouble with the wifi. It was not the guest house fault and he really tried to help us finding a solution for it. There is a little bit of a chemical smell in the bedroom, I think it is the tablets they use for the sewer.
It is great place to book ur room . Dont give a second thought. It is right next to temple . And the owner ( Mahesh sir ) was very friendly. If u guys has no plan what to visit there , just come here chill and ask sir for a travel itenary. OVERALL the experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to everyone
I think pillows need to be washed properly
We had a wonderful stay at Mahesh Guest House in Hampi. The property is neat, clean, and well-maintained, making our stay very comfortable. Mahesh is an excellent host—friendly, cooperative, and always ready to help with any queries or local guidance. The biggest advantage is the location. The guest house is perfectly situated, with Virupaksha Temple just a short walking distance away, making it very convenient to explore the main attractions of Hampi. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would highly recommend Mahesh Guest House to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay with a welcoming host and a prime location in Hampi.
* The property is very conveniently located, close to Virupaksha Temple and other main attractions. * The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. * The host, Mahesh, was extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. * We felt safe and welcomed throughout our stay, which was especially nice for our girls’ trip. * The people managing the property were very kind and accommodating. * Overall, it was a pleasant, comfortable, and memorable stay.
Honestly, there wasn’t anything major that we disliked about the property. Everything was good for our stay, and we were very happy with our choice.
Comfortable room, right next to the big temple. Mahesh is very friendly and hospitable, giving tips and suggestions. Highly recommended.
Amazing location, clean bedroom, friendly hosts, fast WiFi, AC and fan, organised rickshaw pick-up from the railway station
Bathroom could have been cleaner. Would be nice to have a mirror & soap at the sink. Having filtered water available would also be great!
Clean, no insects, friendly and welcoming host, fantastic location—right next to the attractions.
Overpriced taxi services—Uber is half the price.
Nettes Personal, gibt gerne Auskunft .
This hotel is almost right next to the Virupaksha temple in Hampi. The owners and staff are very helpful. As we wanted to explore the city for a couple hours after checkout, they took care of our bags in the hotel.
There are monkeys around the hotel and they were a bit scary.
Super accommodating to all needs and super welcoming! You need to ask specifically for Parashu as a tour guide. Do what Parashu says, do two days with him, trust him for EVERYTHING. Great guy and great times. Thank you Mahesh guest house!!!!
This is an excellent guesthouse located in the centre of Hampi Bazaar with large and clean rooms. Mahesh and his father were kind, hospitable owners who were easily contactable and helped to ensure my stay in Hampi was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying here.
The host is amazing, friendly and very helpful.
Basic, clean and friendly accomodation right in the centre of Hampi. Close to restaurants and the main temple. owner is a friendly and helpful soul, he went out of his way to help us.
nothing. at this price, in this location, its pretty much perfect

Fantastic location, exceptionelly great host Mahesh, hot shower, room with fan and AC, really nice and knowledgeable rikshaw driver Pareshu
There is nothing quite like being in the bizarre in Hampi. It is utterly ancient and filled with wonderful indian people. Mahesh was a great guide. And his driver Parashu, got my out of a right pickle when I lost my cards.
I liked it all. I didn't need the AC as it wasn't hot enough, but good to have. I watched Bollywood movies on the TV for fun at night.
I was not allowed to stay by Mr. Mahesh, owner of the Guesthouse. He is a swindler of the highest order.
I booked a so-called 'genius' deluxe double bedroom for 7th and 8th December for a total consideration of Rs.3856, at Hampi. Though the condition was to pay the property on arrival. However, Mr. Mahesh rang me up on 29th November and demanded an advance of Rs.1000/-, which was paid immediately through UPI. On arrival at the property, I found the property is located in a nasty, slum- like area, though a stone throwing distance from the Virupaksh temple. However, real shock was yet to come. Mr Mahesh said that his guesthouse is fully booked and he arranged my stay in a Homestay of his neighbour. When I argued about his conduct, he and one other person started insisting (read bullying) me to put me to the homestay of his neighbour. I then asked him to return my advance of Rs.1000/-. Mr. Mahesh flatly refused to return the advance. Finding no alternative I accepted my stay in his neighbour's Homestay namely Riverside Homestay. Mr. Mahesh then forced me to initiate cancellation in Booking.com with 'free cancellation charge', reducing the total charges by Rs.486/- (perhaps the commission of Booking.com) and readjusted the total charges to Rs.3,370/- for my 2 days stay in his neighbour's Homestay. He took Rs.2,370/ in addition to my advance of Rs.1000/-, but didn't give me any receipt. In Riverside Homestay, I was given a rooftop room of the size of 80 sq.ft. at the most with a tin roof, where monkeys often come and make loud noises. The room lacks basic facilities, no hangers, no soap, hardly any place to keep even a small suitcase. However, the lady managing the homestay was polite and well behaved. When I asked her about the room charges, she said it varies from Rs.1000/- to Rs.1300/-, depending on the seasons. Thus, it was clear that why Mr. Mahesh collected Rs.3,370/- from me even after not allowing me to stay in his guesthouse. Instead of actual charge of the Homestay of Rs.2000/-, he took Rs.
Mahesh and his family did a wonderful job of looking after us. The location was perfect for getting out and about in Hampi. Parashu was sensational in guiding us around the many ruins of Hampi. He was both personable and knowledgable and he made a great experience greater.

Homely
The location of this home stay is amazing, right in the centre of the Hampi Bazaar. The room is comfortable, mostly clean, and a decent size, with AC and a private bathroom. Mahesh was helpful, organising for us to get our laundry cleaned and telling us where the nearest ATM was.
There were two hairballs on a random shelf near the bathroom that must've been from the previous stay - the room was otherwise clean, so the cleaner must've missed this. Otherwise, an excellent stay.
We really liked our stay at Mahesh‘s Guesthouse. The view and location was great and Mahesh‘s dad is the cutest person on earth. We felt really welcomed and had the best time over there in Hampi. We enjoyed the talks alongside a homemade chai.
Truly loved my 2N stay at Mahesh Guest House, Hampi. The owners were very kind, polite and hospitable and genuinely felt very much at home in this homestay. The location was absolutely amazing, just barely 200m from Virupaksha Temple with even the Gopuram view visible from the terrace. Even all other temples and ruins could be covered very comfortably either by foot or by auto. This is the perfect place and location to stay in South Hampi. Even food options were sorted, just next to the property was Taste of Brahmins restaurant and many other pure veg restaurants at walking distance. Just loved every moment of my stay at this beautiful homestay, special mention again to host Sharma family (Uncle and his son). Best Regards.
Good place to stay in Centre of Hampi, clean and value for money.
great location and helpful hosts. closer to main temple and lot of eateries around. Calm place to unwind.
The location is excellent as everything is at walking distance. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite clean and comfortable.
Manesh was so kind and helpful when we missed our night bus! Very accommodating and gave great recommendations, also helping us to get a rickshaw for the day. Comfy bed, very clean, hot water.
Nothing !
Mahesh made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. He kindly let us check into our room early to sleep and shower after a long coach ride. The room was clean and comfortable, great location, with views of the temple! Mahesh was communicative and helpful in ensuring our stay in was enjoyable and we saw all the best parts of Hampi. Thank you also to Parashu for being a great tuk tuk guide round the town. Would stay again and highly recommend.
Nothing to add
Best place to stay in Hampi, really close to most of the temples. The welcoming was amazing with really kind and friendly host. Will come back for sure !!
It is a good guest house near Virupakshiswamy temple and other tourist attractions in Hampi.
A great, relatively spacious and well-equipped room with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. In a fantastic location in the center of Hampi with a friendly owner who was happy to help and advise. Quiet and effective air conditioning and fan, good Wi-Fi, and a stand with drinks and snacks in front of the hotel. We stayed on the ground floor, so there was no view, but that didn’t matter at all. I can only recommend it.
Nothing
The Guesthouse is located in a cozy street in old Hampi. Next to a great dosa-shop.
Kind, friendly owner and his father. Location is perfect, right next to the main temple. Comfortable room and good shower.
The family who owns and operates this guest house really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. It's located a short 5-minute walk from the main temple entrance.
Location was great. Central to a number of monuments with decent food options at walking distance. Place is minimal but very well maintained and clean. All the amenities for a comfortable stay are present. Would recommend!
Great location. Friendly and helpful owners.
I loved everything about the Mahesh home stay, the rooms were very big and comfortable. They provide 24 hours hot water & wifi facility, wash rooms are very clean.I stayed for 2 days and the experience was marvolous, I have been looked many rooms in Hampi but after searching more than 2 hours I got Mahesh guest and I was so happy that I got room here, it's very near to all the monuments and temples,If u r visiting than Hampi is the best place to visit and Mahesh guest house is the bestest option u could get.Mahesh and his family runs the guest house they are very friendly, respectfull and such a nice peoples.
Its position in the village and its privacy and bathroom areas
Nothing
I was there with family for 2 days and 1 night. The location is very good. Just opposite Virupaksha Mandir (2-3 mins of walk). Brahmins Restaurant is adjacent to property. Property owner is very helpful. Property neat and clean.
Nothing specific. Overall experience was good. Still, I feel it is a bit overpriced.
Location and hospitality
Good stay and their family was kind and friendly 🙂 they were even there to let me drop off my stuff at 5am when the bus got in!!
The owners are very nice and have always time for a chat if you like. The room was clean. They made a masala chai especially for me.
As there is no sound insulation, you had some noise in the evening and in the early morning. Compared with other cities in India the price is rather high for that what you get. But accommodation in Humpi is compared to other cities and villages more expensive and so the price was fair.
Very close to Virupaksha Temple. Room was comfortable, neat and clean.
Great place to stay. Staff were very helpful and let me check in early, just what I needed after a night bus
owner of the property is very cooperative and helpful.
Nothing.
We were so kindly welcomed at Mahesh Guesthouse, greeted with big smiles and open arms. It is located in a central location that makes exploring Hampi on foot so accessible. The room was basic but it had everything you needed and the bathroom was rather large compared to others- cosmetically it may need to be updated but it was perfect for us in all honestly. The air conditioning worked fantastically which was essential after those hot days spent exploring. Fantastic value for money and would highly recommend to all!
- Nothing!
The owner is very kind and gave us suggestion for nice places. It's very close to the Market and Virupaksha Temple.
No Complaints with my stay.
The property is situated right next to the Virupaksha temple and is very close to the nearby market.
Mahesh and his son are very dedicated and helpful. They welcomed us early and gave us good tips for restaurants. The place itself is clean and quiet and in a great location. Just be aware that since it is a home stay you will hear the home owners get up early in the morning. However, nothing unexpected!
All good!
Hot water, very quiet AC, clean room/sheets and room, excellent location on Hampi town, shelves in room, backup power for power cuts, convenience store attached, one of the quietest places in India 🙂
It's so close to the main temple you will hear music and celebrations. Wi-Fi signal not the strongest, one of my phone's wouldn't stay connected to it.
Stay was great …Room is neat and has basic facilities. Property is very close to Virupaksha temple and river. It’s surrounded with Restaurants and other stores. Host is very friendly and helpful to get to know about the transportation and places to visit
-
Very close to Virupaksha Temple and the room is near and clean.
Good
Place
Manish and his family where excellent hosts and the place is in a fantastic location
They were very friendly and accommodating, I felt very well looked after. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was so central, Virupaksha Temple was right on my doorstep. I also got sick and they took care of me and made sure I was okay. I arrived before my check in time and they did there best to get me in the room as soon as they could and I was given a masala chai while waiting.
