The room was spacious. Beds were comfy. It was homely... that was the best. And open kitchen experience was superb. Kitchen is equipped with almost everything you need for cooking. Owner and staff were not intruding to privacy and let us inhabit their property with full freedom.

Siamo stati due notti in questo posto meraviglioso, la stanza è grande, pulita e veramente accogliente. ishani è una host fantastica, è stato bello stare con lei e fare due chiacchiere, inoltre parla anche Italiano!! È stata disponibile ed ha accolto ogni nostra richiesta, ottima colazione e anche la cena davvero buonissima! Super consigliato!!

La gran habitación, la comodidad de las instalaciones, la limpieza. La excelente atención de Ishani y su esposo, me ayudaron para gestionar sesiones de masajes en las instalaciones y el tour a Mihintale. Todo estuvo magnífico!

It was a wonderful experience. The place fully lives up to what they advertise: well-maintained facilities, a pleasant atmosphere, and everything exactly as described. However, what truly makes the difference is the kindness of the people who work there. From the very beginning they made us feel welcome, always attentive and ready to help with a smile. That warmth and genuine hospitality make the experience exceed expectations. It is definitely a place worth returning to and one that I would happily recommend.

Everything. Huge clean room with great aircon. Ishani was a really lovely host who made us a delicious meal in the evening and a huge delicious breakfast before we left.

Tout ! La gentillesse d’ishani, notre hôte . La chambre est très bien, climatisation, eau chaude avec une bonne pression et propre. Mais une spéciale dédicace à Ishani et sa famille qui nous ont amené jusqu’à la station de bus pour nous aider à prendre notre bus un dimanche.

Sehr große, saubere und neue Zimmer. Unglaublich liebe Gastgeber Familie, sie haben uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt und tolle Ausflüge mit uns gemacht/organisiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden die Zeit immer in Erinnerung behalten.

Very quiet location. Large, clean room. The friendly owners helped with finding transportation and offered dinner on request. Good food.

The place is really far out, more so than expected. You really need your own transportation or a tuk tuk to get anywhere of interest. Walking is not really an option, takes very long to get into town.

Alloggio immerso nella natura, proprietari di casa fantastici e gentilissimi. Una delle camere più spaziose in cui siamo stati in Sri Lanka e una delle più pulite. Colazione ottima cucinata dai proprietari.

Ambiente pulitissimo. La host è stata disponibile a preparare cena in tarda serata.

La struttura é nuova, molto pulita, con un bel giardino in cui vengono serviti i pasti e la colazione. La camera é molto spaziosa, e ha tutti i comfort. I gestori hanno vissuto in Italia, e parlano italiano; sono giovani, gentilissimi e super disponibili, ci hanno cucinato un’ottima cena meno “spicy” anche se siamo arrivate tardi.

La struttura rimane un po’ fuori dalla città, ma è molto tranquilla. Per ora non é possibile pagare con carta, ma il gestore ci ha accompagnato personalmente ad un ATM.

Camera molto grande, cena e colazione abbondanti e con diversi piatti, host gentilissimi e molto disponibili (parlano anche un po’ italiano!). Il giardinetto è carinissimo!

Unica pecca forse é che essendo a piano terra potrebbero entrare insetti non essendo la porta ben sigillata

Absolutely loved my stay at Golden Gate Ceylon! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The location was perfect, too - close to all the major attractions and with easy access to public transport. Can't wait to come back! I would highly recommend Golden Gate Ceylon to anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay in Anuradhapura.

We highly recommend staying at this place. We couldn’t find a single thing to complain about — we loved everything. It was very clean, and the couple who welcomed us were the warmest people we have met. Breakfast was wonderful, and the hostess is a very helpful and kind person. We will definitely recommend this place, and if our family ever comes to Sri Lanka, they will stay here as well.

The host was what made this stay perfect. She was so so kind. We really felt immediately at home at here place. she cooks perfect food and we had an amazing time. We would definately come back in the future! The accomodation is very spacious and clean. Thank you so much for taking care of us. ❤️

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Highly recommended: the garden, the rooms, everything is both luxurious and authentic, especially the garden, which has been designed with great attention to detail... so far, so good. What is outstanding, however, is how well the host family is able to create a very personal atmosphere. Ask for coconuts and ask to try opening them yourself. A cool little experience. Fun fact: Our boys are 22, 18, and 15... they felt extremely comfortable and were able to make contact so easily and without any barriers—the BEST.

Everything was absolutely amazing. Ishani and her family are so welcoming and really go out of their way to make everything perfect. We traveled with our one year old daughter. She loved it there. There's loads to discover in the huge garden. Plants, animals, people. Sometimes it was too hot for the little one in the garden and that's when we really appreciated the size of the room. It's huge and offers lots of space to play. During our stay our daughter fell sick and we got quite worried. Not only did Ishani arrange the ride to the hospital, she also gave loads of mental support and motherly consulting. Ishani cooked for us every night and each time we were amazed how great food can taste. She even packed a lunch package for our daughter for our travel to the next place. Not only Ishani but also her family are a delight. Especially her daughter who was very playful and kept our daughter busy. When we had breakfast or lunch with Ishani, she even took care of our daughter so we could eat in peace. A rare treat for fresh parents! And we are very grateful for that. I'm very scared of creepy crawlies and feared that there might be quite a few as the accomodation is in the middle of a huge garden. But we didn't have any problems with that at all. It's just helpful to stay inside in the mosquito hour in the evening. Otherwise no creepy crawlies whatsoever because they keep the whole place very clean. Other than the food, we asked for some special things from the supermarket and our laundry to be washed. It was all done perfectly and the food and those extra services were very very fairly priced. In the end it felt like we were leaving friends and not hosts. Grazie mille per la vostra ospitalità!!

The only thing that comes to my mind which would make the accomodation even greater than it is already would be a fridge in the room or the outdoor kitchen so if people actually want to use it and cook themselves, they can use it. We needed to store milk for the baby's porridge and we're allowed to store that in the family's house :) that worked perfectly well for us.

Our stay was very nice and convenient, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, good AC as well.

Fantastic place! I have used various accommodation options in Sri Lanka - from budget places to the best 5 star hotels. Staying here was one of my best experiences. Super clean room and bathroom, very nice and lovely owners and delicious food. Absolutely wonderful option in Anuradhapura!

First: huge room as you see it , bed big and comfy, all you need is there. In addition the setting is perfect, far from main roads, it is quiet, no car noise, no pollution, immerse in a garden with Coco and banana plants, you wake up with birds singing. there are even the srilanka squirrels! Not sure the name.. Archeological park is far from town and huge, therefore you need a mean of transport anyway... But the most important thing were Ishani and her family. i was booking places for our holiday, when I saw this place and I decided that I was going to book all places run by local families, in order to know them more, the culture, the food. Also I know that srilanka people are very nice and I think they deserve to be known and to be rewarded directly. But I couldn't imagine we were going to feel so well here! They are all so incredibly nice. We had srilanka breakfast and dinner for the 3days prepared by them, great! I suggested them to set cooking classes! The big surprise was that they speak also Italian! So we chat in English and Italian! Leaving this morning was not easy, we felt at home. And I really wishto see them again. For sure we'll keep in touch. I don't think it'll be possible to match this great welcoming place during this trip.

It is a very quiet place with a beautiful environment and a suitable environment to spend time with small children safely.

Nothing bad to say. Great location and room facilities. We had a lot of fun.

Breakfast was great! This was arranged under a shady 'Arjun Tree' (Kumbuk in Sinhala) in the charming compound filled with bird calls, butterflies right in front of the room. It was so appealing, appetizing, delicious and wholesome. The hospitality of the owners of the Golden Gate Ceylon was great indeed. The place is so quiet, secure and peaceful. You will really feel the tranquil.

There is nothing we disliked as it was a bright sunny day!

Super Kind and welcoming family, offered to cook us dinner which was really amazing. The Place was also very clean and Nice, I guess quite New. I liked the Garden as well.

I chose the Hotel because of the Location, but unfortunately the Hotel is not located where it is shown in booking. Not sure if it was a mistake, an error or I guess and hope it was not on purpose to pretend a better Location. Anyway it should be fixed to avoid misleading or disappointing guests. But still would recommend it 10/10, since the real location is not bad because basically you always have to get a tuktuk anyways to go from a to b.

Very friendly! It is new and only one room so far. It is in a quiet housing area almost without any restaurant near by. But they offer you homecooked food (god price and not bad). The bed is very comfy. Some moskitos and no moskitonet. They provide a plug against moskitos (if you like this). They organized a good guide for a tuktuk tour 5h 10'000.- Quite expensiv i think but good and on time 5.45am
