Everything was perfect, the family is very nice, very welcoming. Also, the room is clean, the AC works so perfect for us. I recommend, eyes closed!

Good room. The AC and plug Base is OK. New large bathroom. But the hot water system is not working. But it doesn't matter to us.

There is no electric kettle in the room. We must go down the floor to take it.

The hosts were very helpful and were giving us suggestions where else we could visit. The breakfast was tasty and the guest friendliness in Sri Lanka can be felt

The cordial and pleasant hospitality I was highly taken up by the cordial and friendly attitude of the people most especially of Ms. Piumi the proprietor of the guest house for considering me as one of her family members and doing the needful. In fact, the feeling of being a stranger was no more in me even though this was my first visit to Balapitiya to see historical Poson Perahera. In deed, I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone who intend to visit Balapitiya ..

Našli jsme se synem domov na Sri Lance!!! místní rodina nám zajistila ráj na zemi, jak pohodlím, skvělým jídlem od naší "mamky"-nejlepší curry!!, tak atmosférou a klidem. Nádherné prostředí kolem, pláže jen pro nás a zajištění všeho co nám jen na očích viděli. Nikde jinde ve světě jsem se necítila tak doma, jako právě u nich. S láskou na ně vzpomínáme a těšíme se na další čas strávený s nimi. Můj sedmiletý syn zde byl nejšťastnější, všude kolem byly děti a zvířata, ani kamarádi mu pak tolik nechyběli. Děkujeme Sahanovi a jeho ženě Piumi za veškerou péči, mamce za nejlepší jídla, tatínkovi za test Araku, celá rodina úžasná!

Čas s nimi utekl tak rychle... chceme zpět :-)

Piumi ist eine außergewöhnlich freundliche und zuvorkommende Person. Folgendes hat uns besonders beeindruckt: ein Gast vor uns ist krank geworden und konnte nicht weiter reisen. Sie hat diesen Gast nicht hinaus geworfen, sondern uns stattdessen eine andere, eigentlich teurere Unterkunft zum gleichen Preis organisiert. Zudem teilt sie gerne ihre Erfahrungen und unterstützt wo sie kann!

Lasst euch am Strand nicht zum Besuch im „Kräutergarten“ überreden. Es ist eine geschickt gemachte Touristenfalle! (Hat nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun)

Úžasné ubytování. Skvělá rodina – velmi příjemná, nápomocná a laskavá. Čistý a útulný pokoj. Vynikající snídaně i večeře. Vřele doporučujeme a moc rádi se sem vrátíme.

Una familia encantadora. Piumi es un encanto de persona, no se puede ser más simpática . Nos recibieron con un zumo natural. Las habitaciones son grandes y espaciosas. La cena y el desayuno, todo casero y delicioso. La ubicación, para lo que nosotros queríamos fué ideal. En un entorno verde sin igual y a unos minutos a pié de la playa que más nos gustó en el suroeste de Sri Lanka: Oruwela. Oruwela es una playa salvaje, dónde no te puedes bañar dada su bravura, por lo menos en agosto- septiembre, pero esto le dá todavía más encanto, y aquí vimos en atardecer más bonito de nuestro viaje por todo Sri Lanka

Fijne kamer met een groot comfortabel bed en eigen badkamer. De familie is super lief en doet er alles aan om het je naar je zin te maken. Er werd heerlijk voor ons gekookt toen wij 's avonds aankwamen en ook het ontbijt was goed. Op loopafstand van het strand. Wij verbleven hier op de laatste dag van onze rondreis in Sri Lanka, zodat we de volgende dag naar het vliegveld in Colombo konden rijden. Zeker een aanrader!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay with this warm and welcoming family. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home thanks to their kindness and engaging conversations. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The beach is just a 5-minute walk away, making it the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. The dinner was a real highlight – especially the lentil dal, which was the best we’ve ever had! They also offer cooking classes, which we sadly didn’t have time to join, but given the quality of the food and the owners’ warmth, we are sure they must be amazing. We would happily come back anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a special experience.

Neumím si představit lepší začátek dovolené. Cítily jsme se naprosto v bezpečí a vítané, atmosféra byla rodinná a přátelská a rychle jsme se staly její součástí. Domácí nám ochotně poradili, co vidět, a s úsměvem nás i doprovodili. Pokoj byl čistý, klimatizovaný a postele velmi pohodlné. Každé ráno jsme se těšily na snídani - já na místní speciality, pro mou dcerku upravená kontinentální varianta. Je to zkrátka místo, kde se starají, kde záleží na detailech a kde se z hostů stávají přátelé. Děkujeme za vše!

Super nice Location, but a bit remote. Still prefekt. There are really nice beaches closeby and the hosts are so sweet!

Great experience, our homestay family was so nice and caring! We really felt at home ! The location is great too, there is a beautiful beach nearby. They cooked delicious food too. We are sad that we could not extend our stay with them!

Nothing, especially the 3yr old screaming boy who threw tantrums morning, noon & night and disturbed my sleep & rest. I had to stay away to avoid the noise,

Everything, breakfast, size/comfort of room, thin towels, hard bed. No hot water. Room wasn’t secure. In an area with nothing to do & very scruffy surrounds. Overpriced too.

Piumi and her family were super nice and helped with everything. The room was great, the beach was less than 5 minutes away and the food, which was home cooked, was fantastic. We had a great stay.

There is peacefull, only sounds of forest hearable and a few minutes walk to the empty beech. Owners are helpfull and charming.

We had a great stay at this place. The family was super nice, they prepared a very good breakfast and dinner for us. The accomodation is very clean and comfortable, with AC. Its close to beautiful beaches that are not turisty at all. Would stay here again.

I loved every single bit of it! The family, the food, my room, the nature around! It was the best place to relax and regain some new energy after a lot of traveling through Sri Lanka! I would recommend it to anyone who needs some peace and quiet, amazing food and a loving family! :)

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sweet Pea Homestay. Piumi did her best to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Many times she and her family offered me some snacks, meal or tea/coffee. At the end of the stay they picked me up at the bus stop, they were incredibly sweet! My room was good - there was a comfortable bed, a desk which was important for me to work, WiFi, and a fan. The location was really good - maybe 7 mins from the main bus stop, but located in a quiet area, close to the beach. Piumi was always there to help me when I needed any help or had any questions. She also let me use her laundry! I really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend you to visit Sweet Pea Homestay

In my room it was quite hot (even with 2 fans). At some point there were ants that tried to eat my biscuits. It's a homestay, so of course you can hear some sounds from other people in the house. For me it didn't bother me though :)

Staying at Sweet Pea Homestay was the perfect way to end our trip in Sri Lanka. Piumi and her family are so welcoming, you really feel at home instantly. The accommodation is immaculate, and breakfast and dinner here were among the best meals we've eaten in Sri Lanka, with new dishes we'd never tried before. The setting is wonderful as well, only a few minutes walk to empty swimmable beaches (the best we've seen in Sri Lanka), meeting friendly neighbours along the way. Or you can simply sit on the balcony and watch the purple faced langurs swinging from the trees. Like many guests before us, we wish we had come to Balapitiya sooner and stayed longer. Highly recommend this homestay!

Value for money

Staying with Piumi and her family was the most heart warming and beautiful way to end my trip in Sri Lanka. The whole family is very kind and opened their home and shared part of their customs traditions with me as well as served amazing breakfast and dinner always. Best food I have eaten in all of Sri Lanka honestly! Piumi helped me plan and organize to see the turtle conservation, herb garden as well as took me to an Ayurvedic massage! The beach is just a short walk away and it is the most beautiful beach from the whole coast in my opinion. Untouched and pure nature with no people and beautiful sunsets.

The homestay is located in a calm area with the beach in walking distance. It is a perfect spot to relax and the host family made me feel like home immediately! They are incredibly kind and carry a really warm energy with them. Moreover the food was super delicious and the room spacious and clean. All in all I can only recommend a stay in sweet pea😊
