Amazing room, spacious, well decorated and super clean. Close to center. The staff was amazing. Recommended it took care for everything we needed.
Nothing, was an incredible experience
Todo
Nada
Beds were really comfy. In the dorm there is a curtain around the bed. That’s nice. Also AC at night was good. the bathroom was good too.
From the reviews I expected a cafe there and also a more social environment. Unfortunately there was nothing be done from the hostel to connect people and also because(apparently only at the moment) the cafe was closed, every Traveller already had to do their thing for breakfast. I guess a breakfast/cafe option on the big table would promote some socialness. I felt that the people working there were 80% of the time on the table and the atmosphere was not super welcoming. They were rather doing their thing.
Heel vriendelijk personeel - erg behulpzaam Warm water in propere badkamer
The bed is very comfortable and the room is clean
The wifi doesn’t work in the room, there is no hot water, you are sharing one shower with 8 people
The owners dog is roaming free and on multiple occasions woke guests up between 5-7am It’s supposed to be a peaceful hostel which is fine but then you’re also forced to listen to the staffs strange music all day if you’re in the bedroom so there’s nowhere quiet to chill
It was a clean and spacious property. Dorms were big enough
There is a huge space to do some yoga, but there isn’t anything else like beanbags or lights or anything. They could really make a cute spot to chill there
Beautiful resort, lovely staff, very clean and quiet rooms. Good A/C. Nice to hang out outside.
The mattress was a bit soft and through for a guy with 85 kg. The beds are also short, as mentioned in other comments. Nevertheless I did sleep really good! It's also important to know that it's a bit far away from everything (Cloud 9 or General Luna Town), because you have to take the road all around to get there. But therefore it's super chilled and quiet.
It was perfect, I kept extending my stay! It has everything you need and more! Very nice dorm, good power outlet next to your bed, good AC, even a place to do Yoga. Right across the street is a laundry place snd spa, quite a few nice restaurants in walking distance. 30 min by foot or 5 min by tuctuc/scooter from the General Luna Center.
-
The room was absolutely stunning, lovely size and good bathroom and the bed was huge. Close to a lively street with food and not far away from the centre with possibility to hire scooters.
Due to the room being a whole building with gaps in the ceiling it was not sound proof. You could hear the whole street but also as the property has dogs there was one night where the dogs were just barking all night so we had no sleep that day.
Great room and lovely staff really enjoyed my stay here
The towels often had marks on them. Only complaint
Loft style looked cool.
You hear everything outside the room. Water in shower smelt very very bad. Not many people were staying there.
Great place. Very big and comfortable. Big table and space to move in the room.
Only 1 shower in the dorm
this place and their staff especially Justine, Rob, Dye and Kay made my time in Siargao time 10x better! I keep extending and extending because I couldn't leave them. place is clean, spacious, beds are comfy, and the common are with big table is very good for hanging out and socializing. Would definitely come back! Ps. also they have a lot of dogs and very cute grumpy cat!
the only thing that I dont like is the unstable lamp near the bad which makes plug very difficult to use when you try to use it with adapter.
Really nice big dorm rooms. And I really liked that you had your own basket in the bathroom. The staff were very nice and one girl helped saved me from a huge spider in the dorm that I was very appreciative for.
The property and service in general. The hostel dogs and cat were so lovable.
Shower heater doesn't always work and the curtains used in bed could be better
Boutique design, clean, the most spacious dorm rooms and lovely helpful staff - Kaye went out of her way to find me a scooter and arranged airport transfers.
lovely staff
Great value for a hostel on the Back Road. Not quite as central but quiet and still near amazing restaurants, cafes, and spas. It takes seconds to catch a $1-2 tuktuk anywhere, and if you have a motorbike, the location isn’t an issue. The staff is very kind and the rooms are comfortable. Even the hostel feels private and relaxed - no drink partier keeping you up all night.
Some of the property needs repair but nothing major. I was there during the earthquakes and that didn’t change my perception of the island or the accommodation. No real complaints that wouldn’t be typical of anywhere else on the island.
loved the place, the staff are super nice!
liked it all, there was some construction noise around 8am some days so maybe best to do it a bit later but really, no issues
Beautiful space. It looked more like a resort than a hostel. Pool and room were all lovely. Duvets made a nice touch and the room was huge - I was the only one staying at the time. Huge storage lockers for your luggage and personal items.
There’s only 2 toilets and 1 shower for a room of 8. I was the only person staying at the time so it was fine but I think it would be a problem if the hostel was full. Privacy curtains were flimsy - the hooks kept getting caught or sliding off so they didn’t work properly.
The rooms are nice and people are sociable - good for solo travellers Location is good
The bathroom smells funny. Secondly, on my last night of the booking, I was informed by the girls in my dorm that my bed had bedbugs. I asked for a refund but the staff refused as they said my bed wasn’t affected. The next morning I woke up with a bedbug bite so they refunded me one night out of 5. Highly disappointing. I believe they are sorting out the issue but I would check this first before sleeping there.
All staff is soo nice ! The dormitory is clean and quite with very good quality beds! I loved the yoga session that are happening on the rooftop of one of the building ! The big table at reception is great to exchange with others !! Best value for money ! I will come back
none
The staff is wonderful. They make the stay very easy, and I've never seen a single person turn up their nose. Charming and professional. A million thanks
- loved the table in the middle of the room - really social hostel, you can meet people easily - super easy to rent a scooter, book a surf lession through the hostel itself - laundry facility is opposite of the hostel
- there were bed bugs in the dorm next to me, but the staff handled the situation rapidly
The staff was very friendly and the drinks were nice! Loved the iced coffees in the morning, so good! Dorm was very big, lots of space for your stuff and also the bathroom was very spacious.
The wooden beds make a lot of noice, it was a hard time sleeping. Also the dorm is open so there where lots of mosquitos in the room. One day they put a mouse trap in the bathroom, not a nice idea of there being mouses while our bags are all over the floor as well. I think this hostel is the best if you book a private room instead of the dorm.
This hostel was perfect for a laid back experience and a place to call home in Siargao. Everything you need is close by and the staff are friendly and prepared for any questions or requests. The laid back experience brought out the same energy in the other guests, meaning it was a fantastic location to meet other like minded travellers while in town.
Very clean and quiet accomodation. The host and all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The hostel is about 20 min walk or 50 pesos ride by Tuktuk from General Luna and about 10 min to Sunset Bridge. Since it is not completely in the center, it is very quiet. The yogaspace is amazing. You can also use it if there are no classes just to do a workout or yoga by yourself. I also took surf classes with the hostel. That was great, too. Eventhough it would have been nice to get a dicount for taking more than one classes.
For me it was no issue, but I think if someone is tall, the beds might be a little short. I've realized that they were no too long and I'm only 1.60m tall.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Could not think of
I mean, the facilities looked good at first….
I noticed had bed bugs in my bed. Upon realising it was 12:15 AM, I made pictures and showed the staff. The lady told me SHE KNEW about the problem and told me the pest control could only come a few days later, yet they still decided to rent out the bed… really crazy to me, risking people get infected by these insects! I was fuming mad. After searching for a while they told me they got a replacing hostel for me, the replacing hostel is known for having bed bugs (as stated by many reviews online) so I didn’t wanna sleep there and got myself another hostel during the night. Next day I came back to collect my 2000 deposit and demanded a refund for the night I didn’t stay there, which I did NOT get. Awful service, awful staff, awful hostel overall. DO NOT STAY HERE! The craziest is that they knew about the bed bug situation and decided to rent out the bed anyway… Should be illegal
The beds are super comfortable and the toilets and showers are clean. Staff are always friendly and nice chill atmosphere.
The staff was attentive, and the facilities were good for the price. Locker is offered and shared areas are good.
Basic but it delivers for the price and convenience.
Staff were absolutely amazing and friendly. They were quick to help and easy to talk and extract information from. Clean property.
The wifi in the 8-bed room was weak, unfortunately. And the shower didn’t have hot water for the whole stay.
Staff is really friendly, facilities are nice and clean but unfortunately the beds are really bad. I am 1.90m and couldn’t fit into the beds so I didn’t sleep well there
I think this is the best hostel on the island. nice room, comfortable bed, great bathroom attached to the room, cute baskets to keep your bathroom stuff, and a really good cafe in the front!
The only improvement that could be made is the smell of the bathroom. I know every bathroom on the island experiences smelly water, but they could easily add some kind of diffuser, spray, or essential oil to make this area smell much better than it does.
The facilities were beautiful and since there was a big table people gathered around it so it was very social. There were baskets in the bathroom for everybody to keep their stuff in. The staff was very helpful and you could book everything you needed at the hostel e.g. tours, surfing, motorbike.
I was expecting there to be more focus on yoga and wellness. Many people staying there were heavy drinkers and nobody did yoga so I would have been the only one if I would have booked it. It was also expensive. There was no area to hang by the pool so nobody used it. The location was quite far from the center so one should budget for a scooter rental for the stay. The restaurant was expensive. The upper beds had very steep ladders and they were high up so I didn't feel comfortable with my upper bed. Unfortunately I had a hard time switching to a lower bed supposedly because other people had requested lower beds prior to arrival and there were no available although people checked out. I later found out that people actually hadn't requested lower beds, which I found odd. Eventually, after requesting it 4 times and contacting booking about the issue, after my third night I was able to switch beds.
Very friendly but not party hostel Nice people Location is great, quiet area but closed to everything Clean
Amazing staff and beautiful communal area. Away from busy Main Street. Just make sure you have a scooter to get around
Sewage smell in the bathroom. And price is quite high for a big down
Stayed in the dorm, beds comfy. The nicest toiletries provided in shower. Provide a basket in bathroom for each guest to store things which was a great touch. Free drinking water. Cafe/restaurant with nice food. Big table in the dorm which was handy. Pool (we didn’t use but it is there). Can arrange scooter rental through them which is great. Staff very helpful and kind
No laundry service however there is a shop across the road which was good service. Unfortunately during our stay there were power outages on one of the days and it was very difficult as not only did the power go out but so did the water. All guests (8 per dorm) waiting for the 1 shower. And when they managed to fire up the generator finally the power only lasted for about 10 mins and the lights and water went off while in the shower with shampoo and had to wait another 15 mins for them to fix the generator in the dark. Curtains flimsy. Only 2 toilets, 1 shower per 8 people.
The photos online
Before check-in, I came early to drop off my backpack as requested as I was changing hostels, the staff was nice and told me that I could keep my backpack in a small storage room for safety as I did not want to leave my bag at the front desk in the open . When I was removing an item from my backpack in the small storage room, I accidentally knocked over a pack of water which knocked over a 20L refill water bottle that contained a yellow liquid that spilled on the floor and my backpack. Luckily I had a quick reflex to pick up the 20L bottle to avoid any more spillage. I could smell a strong odour of diesel. I informed the staff about it and apologised to them as it was an accident. The bottle was not sealed properly and a safety hazard to keep the highly flammable liquid in a 20l water refill bottle. The staff was quite nice and came to clean as I wiped my backpack but couldn't get rid of the smell. Upon arrival At check in time I was presented with an invoice to pay for the spillage which was not cheap invoice . I spoke to the staff and a lady who I believed to be the owner. She agreed to remove the extra cost after I explained to her that it was an accident as the storage room was not ideal for hosts as it was too small. I'm glad she didn't make me pay for the 1 litre lost in spillage. Other than that I did not like - The smell from the bathroom/toilet. No place to hang out your wet clothes, they provide it outside but not ideal when it was raining none stop when I was there. Also Little Stuart (mice) visit at night in the bathroom. It didn't bother but might be a shock to others.
Not much..
I had high expectations for my stay at Nyla since they call themselves a Boutique Hotel, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. Upon arrival, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, and to my surprise, the bathroom door was completely missing—something that should never happen in a hotel. I reported these issues daily, but staff only provided excuses rather than solutions. After several complaints, they finally sent a team to clean, but the bathroom door issue remained unresolved until the day before departure. Management did offer a (very) small refund, but this could be claimed with Gcash which I don't have. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they significantly improve their maintenance and responsiveness. They should definitely change their name to Hostal. This is not a Boutique Hotel.
super Social, Staff so friendly, Kitchen is so good
Very clean and spacious, with very modern facilities and friendly staff!
The dorm was really nice - comfortable beds with privacy curtains and unusually there was lots of space with a nice communal table in the middle. Everything was clean. The staff were friendly. Easy to get a ride into town any time of day or a half hour walk. Can also walk to Happiness/Goodies in less than ten mins. Food from in house cafe was decent. Unlimited filtered water was great.
There is a communal area at the cafe but I would describe the vibe as quiet - rarely music and people mostly keep to themselves although we did have some nice conversations/interactions. I think this could easily be improved with better decor and music. A shelf next to the beds for charging phones would be nice too.
The best stay I had in Philippines!! Dorms were comfortable, big, there’s a big table inside that helps you packing all your stuff when it’s time to leave or to have a chat with people from your room. Bathroom was always clean and the design is amazing! Staff was always helpful and arranged tours and transfers when we I need, we also had a karaoke night which was one of the best night I had there! Just stay here and enjoy this amazing place!
Everything was perfect!
Very homie, loved that it’s a hostel with rooms allowed for connection how ever you prefer.
Not much everything was really great!
Stayed in the shared room. The beds were comfy, good curtains, a lamp for each bed, there's a place to hang up your bathing suit and wet clothes outside. Cafe serves nice food.
Advertised as a boutique resort but it's more of a hostel. The staff are lovely but really didn't provide much info for us at check in. The wifi is very spotty in the rooms, so you have to be out in the common area to use wifi. The beds are comfy but there is no shelf to put your phone in the bunk bed. The pool is a shallow kiddie pool, nice to dip your legs in but not to swim. They were helpful in finding us a place to rent a bike!
Super cute hostel in Siargao a bit more expensive than some other options but I think it is worth it, the rooms have great air con, comfortable beds and they provide lockable storage. I want to say a special thanks to Lourie she went above and beyond her role, I lost my bank card and she helped me download an app and talked me through the process of withdrawing money and where to pick it up, she helped me hire a car to explore the island and came with me to pick the car up. She really is amazing thank you again.
The bathroom doors are noisy so any time someone came in during the night you tend to wake up, the WiFi was very temperamental in the dorms but outside in the bar area it worked perfectly.
The stuff is great, very friendly and helpful, especially Lory! Also the private rooms looked nice, but since I stayed in a dorm, I can’t give any reviews on that.
I’ve booked the accommodation because of the great reviews - which I cannot understand after all. The bed is not very stabile, so when the person above you is moving, the whole bed is shaking. I had a horrible sleep there. There was also a smell in the bathroom, probably from the drain. You have one toilette and two showers and one sink, but one shower was not working, so there was only one shower for 8 people. The curtains attached to the beds are very thin and white, therefore they were not very helpful. Furthermore there is a lack of security. They have cameras, but not a security person, so one girl brought a local in our room at night, they showered together for ages and then he slept in our room that night as well, which made me feel uncomfortable. Moreover, I didn’t used the pool because the hostel is close to the street, so it was not very relaxing for me to hang out there.
Loved my stay here! Very clean and comfortable with great facilities. It was social without feeling like a party hostel- just a lot of awesome people in their late 20s/early 30s looking to enjoy the island. The dorm rooms are well laid out to feel like there is plenty of space. The food is great. The staff were super friendly. The yoga area was wonderful.
Could’ve used a few more hooks in the room or a little shelf by the bed. It felt like there weren’t many places to put some smaller things. Also maybe a seal of some kind around the door to limit mosquitoes/pests getting in.
Good vibes, all new furnishings and wonderful food.
The staff was 10/10, every problem that accrue they fixed it right away. Made us feel like family
Facilities and staff are amazing. I highly recommend
The facilities were all brand new, they provided fresh water, and the shower was always hot. They also have a yoga platform and regular classes.
Nothing important.
I absolutely loved that place! NYLA is not a party hostel but it is very social. I‘ve met a lot of lovely people there (travellers and the staff). I‘m not very extroverted but NYLA felt like home from the very first minute :) The owner and the staff put a lot of heart and effort into making NYLA so special. The hostel is brand new and designed in a beautiful way. The rooms are big and very clean, there are even big tables in the dorms so that you can easily work remotely from there (WiFi works perfectly well). Toilets are spacious and clean, there’s hot water and everyone gets their own basket to store their toiletries. Toilets are equipped with a hair dryer and a kettle, which I found very useful. The food at the hostel restaurant/cafe is amazing. For me it was the best food I‘ve had on my entire trip through the Philippines. NYLA offers yoga classes and a series of organized day trips. At the reception you can also rent a surfboard or a scooter. The staff is increadibly friendly and helpful, so you can ask them anything :) I highly recommend this place if you stay in Siargao. I‘ll definitely be back!
