Comfortable beds and ease check in

I'd booked late check out but housekeeper came into room early. It was a little annoying. No shampoo, conditioners or shower gel.

The location is great for staying in Westport. Lot’s of pubs and restaurants in short walking distance. Pretty much in the center of the town. Parking wasn’t a problem. Street parking is very affordable and spots were available whenever I needed. The pub was cool with live local music both nights I was there. Check-in at the pub went smoothly, even though I showed up slightly early. (Pub opens earlier on the weekends)

Man in Mccarthy's very pleasant and helpful, with loads of local information. Ground floor, very clean, lovely bathroom, white fluffy towels. Tea and coffee making facilities in guest lounge next door to bedroom. Also fridge, ironing board etc etc

Old fashioned curtains but not a big deal, everything else made up for it.

They didn't have a kettle for making tea or coffee, I think its a must considering you paying for b and b but there's no breakfast included, it should be room only .

Great location for exploring westport.

The accomodation no longer providesbreakfast which would have been ideal.

Todo estuvo muy bien.

I was very happy with my stay in Mccarthys, staff was very pleasant and helpful the accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable

Really central, comfortable and great value accommodation in lovely Westport :) Really helpful and friendly bar staff too, will be back again.

Rooms were basic but clean. Nice touch with the communal refreshment area. All staff were chatty and friendly (as you would expect in Ireland). For what we paid it was a fair price for what you gotWestport itself is lovely

Oh my goodness, the road noise was relentless, couldn't have windows open because of the road noise and it was very warm in the room. Would stay again but only on the condition we had a room at the rear. I know we could have asked if there was a room to the rear but once you've unpacked and spent the first night there before realising the extent of traffic we (being English) put up with it. Several pints of the the black stuff helped

Not sure about the whole property but our room (8) was very dated and could do with an upgrade. Very basic, bathroom quite dated meaning shower round the edges looks old and so probably cleaner than it looks, the carpet etc look quite old and dated.

Close to everything

No side window, tv only a few channels and signal poor, no sockets at bed, roof window blind broken, no kettle or fridge, low head height.

This place is great if you just need a place to rest your head and a decent shower. It’s a great location in Westport for the wonderful Irish hospitality/shops/restaurants etc.

The place wasn’t as clean as I was expecting - stains on furniture, someone else’s cigarettes under the bed, hairs still visible etc. It was also quite noisy but that’s the price you pay for being so central.

Excellent location if visiting Westport. Perfectly suitable for a 2 night stay, everything you would need provided, nice to have a lounge where you could get tea/coffee

Bathroom is very 1980's

Property was lovely and clean. We stayed for a wedding as we wanted somewhere central. It’s a fab location in Westport with everything on your doorstep! Pub was lovely, there was live music and it was especially busy as Mayo had won. Up Mayo! We would stay here again and recommend.

Only problem was the shower hose wouldn’t stay upright in our room so had to hold the shower which was a bit annoying.

Proximity to the center of town, great music sessions and just a quick walk from the train station.

I think they could have giving more information about what was availableon site, such as the use of the fridge and hot water with tea and coffee freely available, I never noticed them untill the morning of my departure these were in a lovely guest lounge with a microwave and toaster and ironing equipment.

Great spot to stay. I liked everything about it. Will be back.😁

Très bien situé par rapport au centre-ville. Le pub en-dessous n’est pas une source de nuisance, la clientèle est très familiale. On a pu y suivre une des deux demi-finales de la Coupe du Monde !

La lavabo est très petit. On aurait dû demander accès à un autre lavabo commun pour notre petite vaisselle de picnic.

No tea or coffee making facilities in room there was communal room with this down the stairs but no clean cups on the Saturday morning. Quite basic, but you get what you pay for. We were in front room which was very noisy with heavy traffic thundering past.

Fantastic stay at McCarthy's. We were very warmly greeted and had a drink whilst we waited on our room. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Great location in the centre of town. Good sized room at the back, so no street noise. Didn't hear a peep from other guests. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of storage space.

A kettle and hospitality tray in the room would have been preferable to having to use the communal area but it was a minor gripe.

Excellent location

La posizione era ottima ed il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Le finestre non erano insonorizzate ed era quasi impossibile dormire o riposare a causa dell'alto traffico veicolare.

Easy check in. Terrific location for walking to restaurants a good grocery store and pubs with trad music. Good experience with bicycle rental place just around the corner. Nice to have park area at Westport House. Comfortable room.

More electrical outlets would have been good.

McCarthy's guesthouse was excellent our room was so comfortable, easy excess to to dining room which had everything you need. we enjoyed being so close to shopping restaurants and bars, I would definitely recommend this beautiful guesthouse 100%

its location so close to westport house and the centre of the town made it easy to pop in throughout the day to freshen up. It was very private and quiet. Excellent value for money.

, ligt wel aan de toegangsweg naar centrum... veel verkeer, dat hoor je dan wel, maar stoorde verder niet. Tenminste ons niet!

Friendly staff that accommodated an early check in for us. Good location and nice and clean. Very responsive over email when I enquired about a lost item.

Excellent accommodation, spotless and the towels were changed after the 1st night. No outside noise, great place.

It was well positioned to explore Westport. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and well presented.

Early morning traffic whizzing by and with being on the ground floor noise coming from above was a bit of a nuisance!

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und hat für 2 Tage ausgereicht. Gerne wieder.

Alles soweit gut, nur Teppichboden gefällt mir nicht. Und leider gibt es auch hier wie auch in anderen B&B, keine Haken um etwas aufzuhängen.

Only thing going for this ramshackle sad excuse of 'hotel' is the location

It was dirty..toilet seat broken.. shower broken..clean towels were filthy..no response fro. Email prior to arrival..second room not much better..door lock broke and ignorant bar staff said will be fixed but unfortunately slept whole night feeling vulnerable with chair stuck under the door..moved to 3 bed 3 bath apartment..none of the showers worked and top room only had miserable leak power from cold tap nothing from dirty shower or hot tap..absolute disaster..!!
