Santa Cecilia Hotel

El alojamiento tenía una terraza con opción de ordenar comida y calidad-precio estaba genial ! El chef era un amor. No está demasiado lejos pero ya está a 30 minutos caminando del centro.

Las habitaciones dan a un patio y el propio baño está abierto por la parte de arriba a la calle, entra mucho frío y además el agua de la ducha sale muy fría. La sábana tenía una mancha y cuando nos limpiaron la habitación lo único que hicieron fue girarla pero no cambiarla.

El personal es muy amable y el hotel cuenta con todos los servicios necesarios para una estancia agradable. El desayuno en la terraza es muy rico. La habitación también cuenta con algunos detalles y servicios extra que hacen la estancia más cómoda.

El hotel está ubicado a unos 25 minutos a pie del centro, en el barrio de Xochimilco, una zona residencial con varios murales y cafeterías. Por la noche, la calle es poco transitada, algo a tener en cuenta.

Beautiful property and great decor in the room. Staff is so polite and helpful. Super clean and super calm hotel. Rooftop breakfast as an option was great and portions were huge.

It is not in the city center so there’s a 30 minute walk which can impact your plans. The walk is safe and you can see many murals but it is something to have in mind.

It's in a really beautiful section just north of the center and the hotel is truly delightful.

I hope the staff was not offended when I firmly asked not to organize my things after I only asked for making the bed and cleaning the bathroom and they still straightened up my things and featured the tip envelope in front of them. I noticed after I asked that the next day they did not make my bed. Maybe there was no association, and I love the place and hope to come back.

Location is a bit further from the centro but the walk is not long and very pleasant. It’s nice to be a bit out of the crowd. Also the trips were clean and the facilities as well. A very friendly staff. They had coffee ne tea included which was nice if you like a coffee in the morning

I don’t really have a critique

The hotel is picturesque and very clean. The room was very comfortable (good size and comfortable bed). The staff were very helpful throughout. The only reservations pertain to the situation in relation to the centre (a little far, even though the area is very interesting), and the shower was a trickle, which was a shame because the bathroom was good.

Buena relación precio calidad, personal muy amable en lugar no cerca del centro pero caminable por un lindo sector. Habitaciones y lugar siempre limpio. Estacionamos afuera y no tuvimos ningún problema.

Tuvimos tres habitaciones 2 fueron impecables, pero en la del piso inferior había mal olor en el baño y no era porque faltara limpieza.

Zeer attent en vriendelijk personeel. Wij mochten onze bagage daar laten terwijl wij een paar dagen weg waren. Zeer goede service.

The staff is very responsive and the hotel has its charm, very clean, love the birds chirping in the mornings.

The entire staff was very kind. Someone was always at the front desk, and were always very helpful with whatever assistance we needed.

Nicely designed hotel with very kind staff. Very clean and we found the bed super comfortable, some of the better night's sleep we had while traveling. The inner courtyard and terrace are also very nice and we enjoyed staying in Xochimilco.

This is a nice hotel with nice staff and great location but it is extremely loud.

I loved the location, in a quieter neighborhood (Xochimilco) with many great restaurants nearby, as well as a convenience store. The walk into centro was about 1 mile depending on where you were going, and it was a lovely walk with many murals, aqueduct remnants, and very interesting buildings. Much of it can be on quiet streets. The neighborhood and walk to centro are both very safe. Staff is extremely accommodating. I was happy to have a courtyard room to avoid traffic noise.

I wish the bar was open and attended every evening, I would like to have socialized there. The room is fairly small, but it does match the price. I would hear a lot of hallway noise in my room, as well as something blowing around on the roof at night. The mattress could have been more comfortable, but it is standard for much of Latin America. If I was less than 60 years old it would not have been a problem.

One of the nicest Hotels we have stayed in for something. Clean, darling decor and most comfortable. We travel for months at a time and periodically stay in this class of hotel. Super friendly staff that go out of the way to help. The chef on the top terrace makes a superb hamburger. A lovely late night surprise . Everyone in the front is terrific. Despite some construction in the facility the staff was eager to assist with every need. Owner’s take note of your fantastic staff and managers!!!!!!! You are lucky.

It’s a small walk to the centre so coming back at night felt a little long especially walking alone but really it didn’t take long at all. Wouldn’t have changed my stay!

The hotel is located in a quiet street, which has many murals. The staff were very welcoming and made us coffee in the morning.

The room could have been bigger for a more comfortable stay and the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor.

We had breakfast down the road at the Tribu bar or the Emperor. Both just a few mins from the hotel and very practical.

We had rooms 311/312 at the front of the hotel and the road noise was bad. This was at the time of the DOTD festival and cars were diverting thru the side streets and hence more traffic than normal flowing past the hotel. The rooms in the back of the hotel would have been a better option. The showers in both rooms were poor. Would take a re plumb to fix...

This place is beautiful. Any concerns you may have about being too far away are not to be worried about. This place is in a beautiful part of Oaxaca amongst the prettiest European styled streets, with fantastic cafes and restaurants nearby. You don’t even need to walk 5 minutes. It’s an easy walk into town or you can take a short cab ride. We walked. The rooms open up onto the aqueduct that runs behind the hotel, so we were lulled to sleep every night with running water. Definitely better than staying in town with all the street noise. Even when we had hot water issues, the service staff were quick to remedy this by either moving us to a new room or getting the plumber to fix it asap. The chambermaids did such an amazing job cleaning our room they even folded our clothes! It was easy to add Netflix and Amazon prime - I think the bad reviews didn’t actually ask the front desk. They just complained on google. Just incredible service and will 100% be back

There’s no aircon but this wasn’t an issue during our stay.

I enjoyed the location, but it is about a 25 minute walk to the Zocalo. The neighborhood is very pretty, and there are good places to eat nearby. The room was excellent, really nicely furnished and it had everything that I needed.

There were times that it would have been nice to be more centrally located, like when it started to rain a little bit one night, but other than that I don't have any cause for complaint.

Super cool hotel, beside a beautiful aqueduct. Lodged in a artsy and old neighborhood. About a 10-15 mins walk to the Centro and the walk is absolutely fabulous (straight line) with all the gorgeous buildings. Personel was A+. The room had a king bed and was very comfortable. Shower was always over leaking but all was okay in the end. Be sure to check out Chepiche Café nearby for delicious coffee and breakfast/lunch with a huge terrace. The pizza place beside was also good. Definitely recommend this place of you’re up for walking a bit more. Trust me, you’ll love it.

The hotel was everything we needed and more for our stay. Its nicely decorated, adding to the Oaxacan charm of the city. It was clean and comfortable and a short work to the centre. We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a lovely quiet hotel. Despite not being in the centre, there were 3 great restaurants a few minutes walk away - Mexican, Moroccan and Wholefood. Our outlook was onto a sweet little garden. Refillable bottled water was always available. The staff were always at reception. Good morning coffee was served downstairs and was included. The room was light and well fitted out, with a small balcony and two fans, one in the ceiling which we much preferred to aircon. A pleasant 25 minute walk into the centre of town . Perfect for us and very relaxing at the end of hot, busy days

Santa Cecilia Hotel is a small gem of a hotel located in the fascinating Xochimilco neighborhood of Oaxaca, the oldest neighborhood in town. There are gorgeous colorful houses and priceless murals in the Mexican tradition all around. The hotel itself is simple yet beautifully decorated with an artistic eye that combines style and sustainability. The brother/sister team who run Santa Cecilia Hotel are incredibly gracious and friendly, and stop at nothing to meet any need. In addition they provide access to a clean, safe and inexpensive taxi service on an day. Drinking coffee as I enjoyed a gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace was as good as it gets. The hotel is a 20-25 walk from the core of the Centro district, along one of Oaxaca's best streets, Calle Rufino Tamayo, which becomes Calle de Manuel Garcia Vigil, lined with galleries and high-quality arts & crafts shops

It was super clean, rooms were nicely decorated, the whole hotel felt very private and modern. Pretty, colorful and a lot of natural light. There is also a restaurant on the top floor which has great views, serves great food and is just epic!!! Super nice!

There was a dog on a balcony right next to us in the neighboring property that kept barking. The location wasn’t super convinient but it was good enough! The shower was odd, it took like 5 mins for water temperature to change and the preassure was not great.

A comfortable, affordable accommodation that was an easy walk to the city center. The hospitality at Santa Cecilia was exceptional. The staff were helpful, kind and available.

The terrace was so peaceful and had a fantastic view. Tastefully decorated. The team were so helpful and accommodating. They were fantastic. Very clean. Drinking water stations avaliable on every floor. Fantastic neighbourhood with great coffee shops and restaurants.

Very delicious breakfast

Everything was great

People were really nice. There is a restaurant for breakfast on the rooftop, which is quite hidden but had amazing flavours for really good prices!!! People were so kind to move us to another room where we slept much better. The location is in fact really nice, it is a cute little walk to the downtown.

First room we had was on the streetside and below an electrical transistor, so we did not sleep that much the first nights. Rooms are quite small, and given the price, this did not felt really in balance.

Beautiful and quiet hotel in a beautiful quarter of Oaxaca (lots of beautiful streeart and some nice appearing Cafes and Restaurants nearby). The room itself was spacious and very clean, beds comfortable. The hotel offers free coffee and water and the have a nice roof terrace. We felt very comfortable there and the staff was always welcoming.

Keep in mind that it is a 15-20min walk to town. but great for our fitness. ;)

The place is new

It's a bit far from the city center. The hotel is new, but some things just don't make sense and could be improved, shower isn't great and the bathroom door doesn't close. They provide tours, but you can get it cheaper in the city as they charge you extra.

Santa Cecilia was comfortable and quiet in a great location. Lovely walk into town, lovely to get back to! Excellent breakfast on the roof terrace. We did a trip from the hotel with Alberto that was one of our best days out!

It's a very clean hotel with friendly staff. The main hostess who seemed to be the manager, was very helpful and spoke very decent English. The bed was comfortable and clean. They have big water distributers all around the hotel so you can refill your bottles. It's located a good 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main downtown area, which we appreciated because it's removed from the noise and busy streets. The walk is a straight line and filled with pretty murals.

The shower pressure was abysmal and very hard to get hot. I don't know if it's just this hotel or it's a common thing in the city. The air is very dry and the city gets very little rain so that might play into it. Also, the taxi colectivo that runs from the airport does not make it to that location so they hailed another taxi for us to make the final distance. It's walkable if you don't carry to much luggage.

I enjoyed my stay so much I extended a few nights. The staff are incredibly kind, my room was very clean and cozy, and I enjoyed walking around the neighbourhood. The wifi was good and suitable to take a work call from my room.

This is the most lovely little hotel which we loved everything about. We were busy exploring oaxaca so didn’t spend a huge amount of time there but the room was dreamy and the staff so lovely. I can’t wait to come back to oaxaca and would definitely stay here again. The neighbourhood was perfect, a bit out of the main town but an east walk. Beautiful coffee shops and bakeries along the way not to mention all the amazing street art.

It’s such a small thing but maybe a lamp in the room would be nice. The main light is so bright

The hotel and the rooms are nice and clean, the restaurant does not have good food and it is impossible for the chef to be the cook, waiter and cashier during breakfast, maybe a little help would improve the service and food.

Unfortunately, the house next door has a dog on the roof that is abandoned to its fate and the hotel does not respond to the situation of the poor animal that spends its time barking and crying all night, making it difficult to sleep and not think about the suffering of the animal
