Breakfast was good and the room was very nice and comfortable. The staff were also great.
We ate at 8pm for a meal but they had run out of several menu options, although what we had was very nice.
That staff were fantastic
Lots of flys in the room. The area around the shower looked like it had been leaking. Maintenance issue.
조식이 훌륭하고 시설이 좋다
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel has bags of character.
The bathroom was quite dated and tired.
What made this stay was the very warm welcome and attentive service from Steph.
Everything that you needed was available. Staff were very helpful. Clean room and comfy bed
Comfortable and spotlessly clean. Friendly staff.

Fijn hotel met goed ontbijt en diner.
Hotel is wat ouder.
Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
In need of redecoration.
Easy to find
Room didnt feel that clean and felt stuffy
The location of as perfect as a stopover on our extended trip. The property was clean and comfortable with lovely spacious rooms
Very friendly staff
Bit dated bathroom
Really a late pit-stop for us but great hosts Steph and Shannon even rang to check we had eaten before closing the kitchen, a nice touch. Very comfortable beds, lovely quality bedding. An oddball room layout but perfectly suitable for us. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast but they ran out of beans which was not a major issue but everything else was fine. Shap is in the middle of nowhere but great for outdoor enthusiasts and stargazers.
Odd bathroom layout in corner of (family) room with 2 steps up not ideal and extractor fan wasn't working.
Very nice breakfast and served nicely. Nice evening meal after long tiring motorway drive.
Shower room was very small.
Found it very welcoming and easy to find after a long slow drive and a good overnighter before heading further up to Scotland. Meals were generous and reasonably priced.
The shower room was too small compared to size of room and no where to put my wife's cosmetics. A small niggle that's all
Very welcoming. Staff very helpful.
Nothing
We loved everything about this lovely hotel Staff were very bubbly and friendly We got a lovely welcome when we arrived Spotlessly clean Bedroom shower and bath just beautiful Breakfast and meals delish
Nothing not to like
Friendly staff. Nicely cooked breakfast.
Dated room in need of up grading. The room was very big but not of a deluxe standard.
Nice staff
Lovely hotel, warm welcome and a great family bedroom with comfy beds. Great choice at breakfast too!

Breakfast was good, staff were good
Very shabby room, blind at the window falling apart, very pokey shower room
Hospitality
The room was a little sparse but the bed was amazing
Great location and I had a very nice spacious room. Large bathroom and the towel rail was hot all the time. The bar and restaurant was really good and I had the best breakfast of all my 10 days staying in different hotels & Inns in the Cumbria area was at the Greyhound Hotel. What was best of all, was the reception, bar and restaurant colleagues who met me, showed me around the hotel, and served on the bar and in the restaurant. They were such a great team with a fabulous attitude to natural and professional customer service. I really enjoyed my stay!
Nothing
Location is very handy for the M6. Room was comfortable. Food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful
Decor in the bedroom and corridor looked a bit tired.
It was a convenient stop close to the motorway. The building was characterful inside. Nice to have coffee bags in the room. Breakfast was slow but good.
The blind in our ‘Superior’ room was broken and could not be let down as tied up with string. We did not discover the problem until bedtime. Not great with light mornings, and annoying to find out later that staff knew about the problem and yet did not alert us or offer us an alternative room. The shower was barely even luke warm in the morning even after running for several minutes. The room did have countryside views but only across the busy A6 which was very noisy. ‘Free toiletries’ in the superior room consisted only of liquid soap. I would expect that in a Travelodge but not in a £120+ room.
The food was fine, and the staff were very welcoming. It has a friendly, informal atmosphere. The bed was comfy, and the room was clean with good wardrobe space.
If you're on the front of the hotel, as we were, the road is very noisy. The bathroom was OK, but there wasn't sufficient shelving to set out your toiletries. On the whole, we thought it a bit expensive for what you get.
Helpful and friendly staff
Tiny bathroom
Location ( near M6 ), great staff, good food/breakfast, large and comfortable bedroom, parking.
Nothing save for a minor issue - blinds in bedroom broken and unable to raise.
Food and staff were great
Bedroom blind not working. I’ve seen this commented before, so clearly no action. Room was dirty and very poorly maintained. Cobwebs/dust hanging off bathroom mirror and various/many other areas. Not painted for quite some time. Chipped mug, lamp shades clearly not the correct figment or fitted incorrectly.
Comfortable
The staff were abit erratic, and made us feel like an inconvenience to be seated for dinner.
Great welcoming staff, very helpful and top marks to Jaycee who ran around to manage breakfast service single handed for so many people
Broken blind in room 2 Too many flies (sorry as that may not be your fault)
Lovely room,
Bathroom was poor compared to the room, no heated rail or ability to dry anything
The staff were lovely. Very nice evening meal. Comfortable room.
Nothing, bathroom on small side.
Food, dreadful beefburger.
Staff were amazing, Jacey was fab, so was the man behind bar. Evening meal was delicious so was breakfast. Also the morning team were fab. Booked for next year.
There wasn't anything.
Lovely bed Lovely shower Friendly staff
Room very small Bathroom far too small
The staff are so nice and willing to help.
It is beautifully located and offers a comfortable stay
The price was nearly double what I paid in December which struck me as too high
They provided a late night dinner. They offered laundry service at no additional cost. Staff was amazing!
Nice bar to chat with locals, plenty of space , dog friendly
Exceptionally nice staff, made everyone feel very welcome and went out of their way
Good breakfast - scrambled egg on toast, served very promptly and hot to the last bite
Everything was fine - no gripes here
Lovely staff and great location

Room was lovely, staff super friendly and the decor was great
I can't say I rated the food which was such a shame
Comfy beds and clean

The location was great with access to the Cumbrian fells quite literally out the back. Our room was a very good size with a huge double bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom had both a bath and seperate shower with good water pressure. A good choice of breakfasts and the evening meals were all reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Ideal location for the Coast to Coast walk too.
Our room was above the cooling units for the cellar and these were cutting in and out all night so a little noisy when the windows were open.
We look for a dog friendly hotel. So the Greyhound was shown as an opition. But we were more than happy with the hotel when we arrived. We had a great meal, all the staff were brilliant, then a cracking breakfast before we continued our travels
My stay was fantastic. Beautiful area. Easy to find, large car park. Fantastic friendly staff - easy to communicate with both in person and via email. Nothing too much trouble. My room exceeded my expectations, it was gorgeous - fireplace, stone wall gorgeous beams, full of character. Lovely tea and coffee set up with yummy biscuits! Bathroom was good too. Yummy& plentiful brekkie. Would recommend highly
My only thing was that the room was slightly warm overnight. I opened the window a jar to let some air in but no way to turn heating down so to speak / but think this is more just personal preference as I like to be cooln!
Nice place, good hotel room.
Very friendly staff, big comfortable bed, lovely views from the window, nice big space and good food
The hot water was not hot
It’s a great place to stay. It’s a fab base if you are doing running events. Packed breakfast good accommodated very early start. Staff friendly and welcoming restaurant excellent
Room was a bit too hot Packed breakfast this time was porridge. Couldn’t take it with us like we did last time as no hot water facilities. Croissants would have been a better choice
The staff at the Greyhound were exceptional, so friendly and accommodating. Evening meal and Breakfast were great. Convenient location with off street parking., characterful building +++.
Breakfast was good.
Loved the character of the building. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Our room (room 1) Was very spacious and comfortable and the window seat was a lovely place to enjoy a cup of tea in the evening sun. Pub grub food tasty and good value and the breakfast was excellent.
Breakfast was excellent, even the dog was catered for. The bedroom was spacious and surroundings fantastic. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly .
Management were very helpful and friendly. Fellsman breakfast was excellent
Very comfy beds and pillows. Breakfast was lovely. Shower didn't drain so had to be very quick or flood the bathroom. Bathroom badly needs decorating and smells of damp. Bathroom tap only ran hot, so not cold water available. Carpet hadn't been hoovered properly. Hairs on bedding. Bedside lampshades in very poor condition. Carpet gripper rod clearly visible and potentially could cause injury by bathroom door. Cups and glasses by kettle not all clean. Overall felt like it hasn't been maintained or decorated for 10 years and is pretty shabby.
A thoroughly enjoyable overnight stop, with fantastic staff, comfy bedroom and great food. This historic inn has been beautifully renovated and is in a quiet village perfect for chilling out. There was a lovely view from the bedroom. I would have awarded it a 10 but the bathroom was tiny!
Good food ,friendly staff, will stay again
Excellent rooms and friendly staff
Food was fair overall but some breakfast ingredients overcooked and bland
Very quaint and cosy. Food very good and staff so welcoming and helpful. Lovely big room, large comfy bed with spotlessly clean bedding and plenty tea and coffee. Large car park. Farm next door sells free range eggs.
Nothing not to like. The rooms were a little tired and window frames need replacing but this adds to character of pub.
All the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The northern lad behind the bar when we arrived was especially welcoming and we felt really comfortable. The food, rooms and lounge areas were all comfortable and good. Good value for money and great location for going into the lakes
Nothing, great stay and we'd stay again.
Ideal location, great food, comfortable room, free parking. Friendly, helpful staff.
Friendly and polite staff; easy to find; welcoming to walkers; great bedroom and bathroom, clean, comfortable and newly refurbished; good food, we had dinner and breakfast.
