We had a wonderful time at Aikatib Riad! The riad is stunning, such a beautiful architecture and is located in the center of the beautiful Medina of Meknès! When we arrived we had the chance to see the sunset from the rooftop, with the views of the roofs of the city! Thanks to the owners for the nice talk in the evening, about the history of Meknès, we loved it. The breakfast was very tasty as well. Well recommended! Thanks again from Charline and Benoît
Bella struttura nella Medina, camera spaziosa, letto comodo, terrazzo panoramico dove rilassarsi. Buona colazione. I proprietari molto cordiali.
Il caffè
Abdul the best host we have met in Morroco. He speaks English perfectly and can you help with anything.
The location, inside the old town, is not difficult at all and the building itself is quite spectacular, especially the views from the terrace. But the best of our stay was the host - thank you for your patience with us ☺️
My room was spacious and very clean. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around. The riad contacted me in advance and provided clear directions on how to reach it, and I really appreciated that they had signs in the bazaar pointing the way, which was very helpful. Last but not least, Abdolrahmane was super polite, kind, and helpful. He even assisted me in planning the rest of my trip like a true local, which made my experience even better.
gentilissimi tutti, disponibili, veloci e pronti.
Nada
Abderrahmane received us with warmth and was very understanding and accommodating. He made our stay so much more comfortable and friction-less. Will be back again if we are in the area :)
It was a once beautiful grand house of a writer also used as a tribunal, full of atmosphere and traditional features but very comfortable. In the middle of the traditional Medina. And the best, was Abdo who is a gem and took care of us so well!
Nothing
The property was beautiful and so was the room. The host (Abdo) really made our stay comfortable and enjoyable with his helpfulness and general niceness and was always on hand to help. Very polite and welcoming person!
I wish the shower was more powerful
Rien
Very friendly and welcoming staff, who helped us a lot. The Riad has a roof terrace with the most amazing view over the medina - we highly recommend listening to the prayer call from up there. The Riad also had a washing machine that we could use for a small fee.
Very beautiful Riad located at the central Meknes, you can enjoy the great view from the roof, and the room is very cozy and comfortable
The wifi is a bit slow
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful Riad in Meknes. The rooms were incredibly spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The entire Riad is wonderfully quiet and truly charming, offering the perfect atmosphere to relax after a day of exploring. Breakfast was excellent as well, with plenty of delicious options. A special mention goes to Mohamed, who not only took great care of us during our stay but also kindly showed us around the city. He’s a special person, someone who felt more like a friend than just a host. We highly recommend this Riad for its beauty, tranquility, and exceptional hospitality.
Wij waren met 4 mannen. Mooi ambiance bij binnenkomst. Heerlijke bedden.
The location in the medina was very good; of course, by nature of being in the medina, it was not easy to find, but in the process we met a shop owner who was very helpful in directing us to the riad (later we returned to his shop). Parking is about a 10 minute walk away, but not difficult. The building was beautiful inside and the staff extremely welcoming and helpful.
The air conditioning unit in our bedroom did not cool very well (we were in the room on the ground floor off the main lobby). The low doorway into the bathroom was unique at first, but got tiresome when repeatedly going into the bathroom (bumped our heads a couple times).
Friendly staff. Nice Location
The staff were very courteous and helpful. Many thanks especially to Mohammed for all his kindness. Nice rooftop terrace. Good breakfast. One morning we needed to leave early so the owner very kindly served us an early breakfast which we appreciated.
Be sure to bring your own shampoo. Our room (Family room on the ground floor ) had a very low entrance door to the bathroom so even a short person like me had to bend down to enter and exit. Water in the shower was almost always lukewarm (barely lukewarm sometimes).
Very beautiful and traditional riad in the heart of Medina. The hospitality and the politeness of the owners and the staff helps you continue. Although the riad was in the crowd meknes Medina was very peaceful and without noises. If I knew it before staying would plan to stay more. Is perfectly value for money.
I went to stay in this hotel my experience with them was very good very nice person his name was Mohammed and his behavior was very good you should also visit this place very kind person..
This is the perfect Riad that we have been hoping to find in our time in Morocco. The decor is stunning and authentic. It is very clean including linens and towels. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, we were able to choose between two rooms which was nice. Our bed was firm, but we both slept well. It was very quiet at night to sleep. The shower is great with hot water and in a shower stall. Moroccan breakfast is delicious and filling with good coffee. Wifi is very good and reaches up to the top floor rooms. The location is great. It's easy to find, on a quiet street, but in the Medina. The owner is wonderful. She is very kind, friendly and helpful. She speaks English, French as well as a few other languages, and so does the other staff. We booked a private driver through her and it worked out well. We would love to stay again if we return to Meknes.
One of the best Riads in Morocco: comfortable, with everything I needed (included washing machine) and an amazing service by the great host Mohammed qho was extremely helpful with us. Don’t hesitate to choose this place.
Great location, and a beautiful riad to stay in. The host was excellent and very accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here.
We felt home right away. It was stylish, beautiful and clean. Hosts were super friendly and helpful.
I suggest to go to the grand taxi to arrange your long distance transportation instead of booking from the Riad to get more options.
Everything was all ok
You can’t reach it with car and we had to call the riad to know where you can park te car nearby. After we found it. We had to walk 5 min to riad. This is not a problem but I couldn’t read it somewhere so I would know i can’t park at the riad.
Amazing location, characterful and historic architecture, wonderful and warm host, lovely breakfast.
We had a little trouble with a blocked drain in the shower.
Mohammad was the highlight of our visit. He was gracious and took very good care of us.
The AC didn’t work in the first two rooms we tried but Mohammad was able to move us to a room with a functioning AC.
Affordable, clean, warm welcome, scrumptious food, has all the amenities you need
Nothing
We loved our stay in Meknes. It was our first time in a riad and we were delighted. The interior is very beautiful. We were there in the off season in February, so we were the only guests for our two night stay. There was great communication with our host on how to find the riad, for example, which gate to get a taxi to, which alleyway to walk down to find the accommodation, etc. The location is good. It is very close to Lahdim Square, Bab El Mansour Gate, and Dar Jami Museum. Unfortunately, during our stay Bab El Mansour and Lahdim Square were undergoing renovations, so we didn't get to have the full effect.
Mohammad, the host, is the wonderful person, who is always ready to assist you. The riad and the rooms are like Arabian night tale.
Beautiful historical property very clean and location Also very good it’s part of madina lots of choices for foods too very Quiet place staff are very good and helpful specially owner of the property she’s amazing very caring she’s doing her best to happy all the guests she’s look after very well she’s are super hugely recommended
Not thinking
This charming riad is located in the heart of the medina. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, as is the rest of the riad. Despite the bustle of the medina, we found the riad to be surprisingly quiet (although you will, of course, still hear some noise from the busy city outside). Mohammad is a kind and generous host, being extremely accommodating with providing an early breakfast when needed, and giving suggestions for local restaurants in the area.
Great place with a friendly welcome
The customer service was very cordial and hospitable. It's a beautiful riad with traditional and very decorative furnishings. It is also within the medina (old city) so it's very close to many shops, cafes and restaurants. Our room was very spacious.
These are things that I have found to be the case in other riads/accommodations in Morocco, so these aren't criticisms but observations to make note of so the traveler can have a better idea of what to expect and plan accordingly: the riad is set back from the main road, so be prepared to walk through the market with your luggage and find the riad. It's not difficult with this one, though. There are no elevators, only narrow stairs, so something to keep in mind if you have lots of luggage, or heavy luggage, or have difficulty with stairs. The mattresses are a bit hard. I have back problems, so they were a little difficult to sleep comfortably on. One more tip when traveling to Morocco that we learned from our daughter, who lives there, is that taxi drivers don't use addresses to find places but navigate by landmarks/known areas, so always ask the manager of a riad/hotel what to tell the taxi driver so he can get you there.
Great location in the heart of the Medina. Comfortable bed (Chefchaouen room). M'barrak (staff) was very helpful and friendly. Owner was very responsive when contacted.
The drain from the shower in Chefchaouen room was blocked but the owner is aware and I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Breakfast is a bit basic (bread, butter, jam, olives, tea and orange drink).
Large, spacious room with excellent air conditioner. Quiet part of the Medina. The host was very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast provided. Dinner provided was very nice.
The bathroom was small with poor drainage from the shower base. No other complaints.
Our stay was fantastic! The riad is 600 years old, architecture and design are so authentic and take you to the journey through time. Our room was big with high ceiling and very comfortable. The hosts are so lovely people, it was a great pleasure to have conversations with them. Breakfast was traditional, good and tasty. If you are visiting Meknes, you should definitely stay in this riad as it’s not just a hotel but an extraordinary experience that will enrich you Moroccan trip.

Fabulous home cooking. Hostess very welcoming and helpful. Felt like a guest in her home. Lovely big room. Beautiful authentic furnishings.
We really enjoyed our stay at the riad. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home.
Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The atmospheric was very peaceful and relaxing. The riad was so much better than the images online. The riad was the highlight of our stay in Meknes and I would recommend this riad to friends and family.
Nothing
The Riad is very beautiful and comfortable. It was easy to find in the Medina of Meknes. I was very happy to stay, Ouadil the manager was so kind and friendly and went out of his way to help.i was very happy there and can recommend the Riad.
The breakfast was a bit sparse compared to other places I have stayed otherwise everything was very good.
Our plan was to visit Volubilis and Moulay Idriss from Meknes and it was a very last minute decision to stay overnight in this city. Although we booked very last minute, upon arrival we were kindly welcomed and the staff helped us arrange a private driver to visit Volubilis and Moulay Idriss immediately. They were also very kind to accommodate to our early morning departure and made breakfast for us. Very much appreciate their hospitality!
As we spent the entire day exploring Volubilis and Moulay Idriss and came back very late and left next morning quite early, so we had very little time to enjoy the lovely Riad. Would have loved to spend more time there as interior was really beautiful and very cosy atmosphere.
Great Place to stay, very attentive service, Beautifully decorate, large room, nice owner who took great care of you, answered all your questions, good Food and excellent facilities
Location was in heart of Meknes Medina. Very quiet, no road noise, only call to prayer from nearby mosque. Rooms were huge and the riad interior was gorgeous. Wifi and A/C worked very well in the rooms.
Bathroom floor become entirely wet after showers.
Beautiful riad in the middle of the souk. Beware that on Fridays the whole souk is closed, not much to do.
Breakfast is mediocre. Bread and juice was not fresh, only jam served. Small coffee only, can get a second. For extra payment you can order cheese and fried egg. Not much to see in Meknes, much being renovated.
Well located. Big room with air conditioning.
Room was cluttered. Bathroom was very small - external blue pipes were an eye sore.
love the place
A great place with a great location. Perfect room with a beautiful view of the interior of the riad. Hostess Very nice. The breakfast was excellent. I will recommend this place to stay in Meknes to everyone
Excellent family resilience. very quiet and peaceful. Location is excellent. Owner upgraded our room from downstairs to upstairs.
Breakfast is minimal with bread, olive, butter, jam, coffee and tea. Owner forgot to give me the password to the WIFI despite my repeated requests. My wife found the code on the notice behind the door. We liked to use the kitchen to prepare one lunch and one dinner during our 3 night stay. However, we were asked to pay 50 dirham for using the gas stove. Despite these issues, we had a good stay.
Delightful stay. The riad is within the medina, which is great; but it's tucked away, making it calm and quiet. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and we had some great conversations. Excellent Moroccan breakfasts.
The guy staff were awesome. Very helpful and friendly.
