Grand Central Hotel

The staff was so friendly and kind. Let us check in very late and even gave us a free round of drinks and some sandwiches (after the kitchen had closed). love this place!

Facilites were clean and the rooms were charming. Breakfast was included and delicious!

Alan, was very accommodating at check-in Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a lively atmosphere and music in the evenings.

Nothing really, it was a pleasant experience and we really enjoyed our stay. Reasonably priced in comparison to other hotels in the area.

We were very happy staying at the grand central hotel. We arrived a bit late but still got a wander at the beach right outside the hotel and a drink in. The breakfast was fantastic with a great view at the sea. It was an overall great experience especially due to the nice staff. Price was really fair especially considering all the higher prices across the boarder. The town felt calm, cozy and close to nature compared to what we saw across the lough.

It was a prime location nearly Newry carlingford and Warrenpoint Beautiful views and lovely walks The manger Alan and Paddy where very helpful and couldn't do enough for us All.staff was extremely friendly and helpful Food was fresh and beautiful Rooms.where basic but had all.we needed and very clean and safe with a looked door leading to acconnadation . I would.diffently return and look forward to going again.

I couldnt have the breakfast because it didn't start until 9am and I had to leave at 8.30 for work. The bathroom was clean and freshly done up but the shower tray overflowed and flooded the floor.

Food was excellent, had the lamb special, didn't have the breakfast as I was off on an early start. Room was lovely with stunning views of the lough, shower nice and powerful and in room coffee/tea facilities

Views were unreal, felt like home. The wee coffee shop is cool!

The dinner, we got the Creamy Penne Pasta, it was bland, watery and over cooked, good pint of black, and the live trad music was good, brilliant atmosphere.

We had a wonderful welcome from Patrick and all during our stay, he was always there lending a helping hand and giving us lots of advice about the area. The service for breakfast and for the evening meal was first class and the food was pretty good as well!

I phoned to say I would arrive late (10.00-10.30pm) and I was told that was no problem as there would be staff in the bar until at least 11pm. I arrived at 10.30 to a completed locked up, silent building, I rang the number again and a very nice young man arrived promptly by car but there had been no hand over and so he had to spend time on the phone with someone for about 15mins and when that didn't help try to find an empty but made up room which took several tries with keys another 15mins at least and then had to just leave me in a very cold room that took a good while to heat from the in room heater. There were apparently other guests in the hotel but it was pretty unsettling to not see a night duty person on the premises. I asked to see where my emergency exit was to be sure I could quickly exit the building should I need to and was shown that by the nice young man. I understand it was off season and a quiet mid-week night but some systems could definitely be improved for dealing with a situation like this. Perhaps making it self check in with clear instructions would set clearer guest expectations.

The room was very cold when we arrived, we had to put the heat on ourselves to get it warmed up. Also the shower tray drain was blocked.

Beautiful breakfast, powerful shower, comfortable bed, lovely location overlooking the harbor and a short drive to Carlingford.

The location we would love to stay in the Summer but lovely little town very peaceful

No food available after 4 that's ok but we would have had food before we arrived as we had to drive to Carlingford for food, I totally understand in the off season but this needs to be started on booking.com

This place is a little gem of a place. Right beside the water, so very peaceful, lovely friendly village, staff in hotel were so lovely and helpful with everything, food was amazing, love this place so will definitely be going back again.

Everything, couldn't fault it at all to be honest. We enjoyed the peace of the water and the walks you can go on around it, lovely quaint little village.

Lovely hotel right beside Carlingford lough and greenway, friendly staff, comfy bed and great food. Newly refurbished hotel/ rooms,lively bar, tea/ bottled water in bedrooms, spotless rooms and great shower. Great breakfast freshly cooked not buffet. Ideal place to stay for walking or cycling in the area.
