Joli petit hotel avec un jardin au bord du canal et loin du bruit de la ville. Tout était très propre. Chambre au 1er donnant sur un balcon avec tables et chaises. Ubaid le jeune homme qui s'occupe de cet hôtel est souriant, agréable, serviable et d'une grande disponibilité. Il s'est occupé de me réserver le Tuk-Tuk à la journée, le taxi pour aéroport, le Shikara pour la balade sur le lac, ce qui est un vrai plus. Le jardin est très agréable pour un moment de détente. Merci pour la confiture de figues.

Suggestion : mettre 1 tablette dans la salle bain pour poser trousse toilette.

I really loved my stay at Chachoo Palace. The room was very neat and clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and the location was also excellent. I had a great experience overall. A special mention to Ubaid, the manager, who provided the best service. He was extremely helpful, polite, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed there for 4 days, From the day 1 Mr.Ubaid taking care of us from arranging the cabs ,bikes and food. thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

We liked everything about this place. It is placed away from the crowd, nestled in a quiet spot right by the water. You can take a shikara from the property itself to explore Dal Lake. The breakfast was good & reasonably priced. The view is peaceful with many birds around. It's a small cozy property, clean and comfy. The caretaker Ubaid was wonderful, helped us with whatever we needed (shikara, rickshaw, scooter contact etc) & always with a smile. He really took good care of us (Kashmiri hospitality at its best)! I would definitely go here again :)

I think the only thing to recommend is better pillows.. I found them very thick and ended up using the cushions instead.

Tolle Lage direkt am See, besser als auf den teilweise schon sehr heruntergekommenen Hausbooten, schöner Garten mit Sitzgelegenheit und Veranda. Ideal sind die vorderen Zimmer im 1. Stock. Gutes Essen und jederzeit warme und kalte Getränke. Taxi bzw. Tuk-Tuk gleich nebenan.

Die Umgebung ist nicht sehr einladend, etwas heruntergekommen und verdreckt. Ein großes Problem sind Händler, die mit Duldung der Besitzer in den Garten kommen, zuerst eine Shikara-Fahrt anbieten, die aber dann in einem Lagerhaus endet, wo überteure Teppiche und Souvenirs sehr aufdringlich angeboten werden. Finger weg davon, diese können in den Läden in der Stadt in oft besserer Qualität und viel günstiger erworben werden.

My parents had a very good stay at Chachoo Palace. The place provided excellent service and the rooms were comfortable. The highlight was the driver provided through the hotel, who ended up driving them through the entire trip, which was a big help. Highly recommended!

Good location. Right on the water. A hotel, not a boat. Some of the boats looked isolated, run-down and with access limited.

Nothing really. It is good value for money. Someone mentioned the pressure in the shower in one of the reviews. That is correct. A minor irritation. I still had a good shower but I think the shower head needs changing.

One of the best places to stay in Srinagar. The location is quiet, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing, yet everything is easily accessible nearby. The owners are extremely honest, warm, and welcoming, which made our stay even more comfortable. A special mention to Ubaid, the caretaker — such a genuine and kind person. He helped us with everything, from bike rentals to booking a shikara ride, and always made sure we got fair prices and didn’t get scammed by local rentals or agents. Their hospitality and care truly made our trip memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Srinagar!

This hotel has good location, very peaceful environment, they also provide home cooked food that is tasty, nice and honest staff, we left one beg while checking out, they called and gave it while we were on the way to airport. Very helpful. Overall nice to spend time with peace and enjoy.

Tucked away behind Dal Lake, this 3-star property is a practical, high-value base for exploring Kashmir. The owner/manager brings a professional international touch, having worked in the Netherlands and speaking both English and Dutch. The location is away from the crowd and by a river. It was perfect, I spent peaceful morning and afternoon having nice coffee there. Room was decently clean. You have a small garden to chill by the lake and watch the boats pass by. There were also 2 cute cats. The guy at the reception is very helpful. He helped me in booking my tickets for gandola for Gulmarg. I suggest you contact them to book your transportation if you want to travel around.

The hotel is located just on a Dal Lake bank. The owner is very helpful and could prepare you a tasty dinner and give tips about sightseeing. The hotel building is atmosphering and has a terrace with a lake view.

The hotel is by the lake, it has a very relaxing atmosphere, nature is really close. It is an affordable great alternative of the Houseboats. The hotel staff was really helpfull in everything: booked the airport transfer, the sightseeings, even organized to have my laundry done. Food is available and delicious. I really recommend this hotel.

Noise. Lots of dogs barking throughout the night then joined by imams around 4.30 am, competing with lots of other mosques with booming loudspeakers.

I had a lovely experience on this houseboat. It’s very well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. It’s on a peaceful lotus lake and I loved listening to the birds and practicing yoga on the deck to the sunset. The family are lovely and could not do more. The food is delicious and prices are reasonable and beautiful Kashmiri tea served all day. Highly recommend.

On my last day, I felt really pressured to leave a review and to tip. I don’t mind being asked once but several times, lead me to leave feeling quite frustrated. I would also have appreciated more transparency about meal and boat prices- a price list would be nice.

Cleaneliness and behaviour. My first concern in any hotel is cleanliness. this hotel has very clean toilet and bed. The front rooms feel lively and open. One more best aspect is availability of warm water in all taps and faucets

One of the rooms had lood bed and creaked on changing posture. But they changed my room.

I only booked one night as I was hoping to find a houseboat for the following days. I did find a houseboat but had I not I would have gladly stayed longer. It was sublimely quiet and loved the lake setting. Great value, I would stay again.

Breakfast is not included though it was very inexpensive. No electric kettle in room so you couldn't enjoy coffee on the terrace for the sunrise.

The location is such a pleasant surprise! The property is right there on the water, surrounded by birds and willow trees, with the local people rowing along in the water going about their business. It is a peaceful and tranquil oasis. Easily you can spend a whole day by the water watching the world go by.

Only it can be improved when the cafe is complete! But in the meantime the hosts offer all the chai and food you could want.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chachoo Palace. It is exactly as described and in the pictures, a simply but comfortable place to unwind by the backwaters of Dal Lake. The whole place was very clean and well looked after and the owner & staff very friendly and supportive the whole way through. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning and the creamy Kawa tea on the balcony in the beautiful morning light that was shining through the leafy trees around. It's quickly accessible via Tuk Tuk or even Shikara and a 5-15 min ride gets you to most of the main attractions. It's a fantastic place to leave the sounds of the city behind for a little bit and just kick back and unwind from the excitements around. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

The only thing would be a fan in the bathroom, that would help with the humidity inside. The room fan worked very well and with the doors open it was a quick airing out.

I like the location and hospitality of the palace. It is situated near the Dal lake and the view is amazing. As a vegetarian I got a pure veg restaurant in front of the hotel. And the rooms are very clean and hygienic.

Good service and location. Rooms are spacious. My room was quiet enough. There was food and water if you needed it, at a fee, and the menu was quite western. I like that there's outdoor and semi-outdoor seating.

The building and amenities are quite old and basic. The hotel overlooks the lake, but it's kind of on the back side of the lake so you don't get any view at all (it's blocked by plants).

After booking, I called the property for my stay , again called 2 days before stay , they said room is booked for me,.But on morning of the day of stay,when I called again, proprietor said, the room can't be given as I have not called them one day before. Lastly ,on request they provided one new partly furnished small room at another place with average location with more money than the rate I booked,

The hotel is basic with minimal facilities, which is to be expected for the very affordable room rate, but it provided a safe, secure and friendly base for explorations of the city, its beautiful gardens, and Lake Dal with its mountain views, boats and house boats. The hotel is right on the edge of the lake, and the location was perfect from that point of view. I had some really good meals, cooked on the premises, willingly adapted to my western preferences and relatively low spice threshold! There was continuous hot water in the bathroom, but my room was rather cold although heaters were available. The manager/owner Manzoor was extremely helpful, making bookings for airport pickup and drop, lake tour, and finding me a very keen and knowledgable guide Mohsin to visit handicrafts artisans.

Power cuts were quite regular which interfered occasionally with the otherwise adequate wifi connection. The rooms were very basic but some cupboard space would have been appreciated.

The space was too less. I booked a triple room with a large double bed and a single bed but I was just provided with a mattress instead of the single bed.

Shower head didn't really work so had to have bucket showers however it was very hot water which was lovely. This was common in places that we stayed at though so not unique to this place.

The stay at Chachoo Palace in Srinagar was really enjoyable with cosy comforts and remarkable hospitality. The place is virtually situated on Dal lake within reasonable proximity to market area. The proprietor of the hotel, Mansoor Sahab is an educated, sensitive and caring person. Altaf, the attendant is a wonderful person always attending to the needs of the guests.l wish the hotel flourishes more and more in the days to come.

I found it a little inconvenient that there was neither any looking glass nor wardrobe in the room. A telephone for asking room service is also needed

They don't provide a room heater. Shows bathtub in website but not there They provided an autorickshaw for the Srinagar site and charged an extra amount, which was not mentioned before. Small room

The comfortable approach of the team from Chachoo himself to Altaf who made me feel like I really was visiting my uncle's home. They took care of me like their own when I arrived in unable to adjust to the cold weather. Even to the point of making sure I didn't go to sleep hungry even when I was too tired to eat.
