Raalhu Fonu Maldives

Zona tranquila, restaurantes para comer muy cerca

Todo estuvo bien

Really liked the four nights we spent at Raalhu Fonu. Ahmed and Sunday were great hosts and we even got an upgrade to the top floor room with a view and terrace . The view overlooked the sea (partially obstructed) and is beautiful on a sunny or rainy day. Good proximity to two good restaurants - The Wave and Delish, and short walk to the decorated tree , and the tourist beach. Best home reef of the local islands I visited for snorkeling (swim through the channel and go left and right). Masks, fins and life jackets were provided by the hosts . We appreciate the friendliness , care, and attention of the hosts and his team.

I had a spacious modern room and bathroom. The guesthouse is located close to the tourist beach and there is an excellent restaurant nearby. It was very quiet. A speedboat can be booked to transfer from the airport to the island for $45 each way - few run each day so you need to check in relation to flights. The island is very small and quiet - no cars, and you can walk around it in 15 minutes. There is nothing to do except beach or trips - prices range $40 - $90 depending on time and distance. Great for a relaxing holiday.

I booked a deluxe room with balcony - expecting to have my own private balcony. It was, however, a small Juliet balcony 100x50cm. No rooms have private balconies and the rooms at the front lead directly onto communal terraces - these are the ones shown in the pictures. Breakfast was basic with no tea or coffee.

Friendly and helpful staff, we have done various tours with them and they were spectacular and well organised

There can be a lot of difference between the rooms. We had two, and one was very small on the ground floor with no window in the bathroom. Others, however, are spacious and have terraces and spaces for hanging out clothes.

Spacious air conditioned room with comfortable bed, in a perfect location - Very close to tourist beach. Upstairs veranda is great for breakfast and chill time. Staff (Sunday and Zakir) were friendly and helpful, provided information on the island and transfers/transport. Ahmed the owner is very responsive and caring. Breakfast was generous and served within our preferred times.

The bathroom could be cleaner on arrival, and the room could be cleaned more frequently. Duvets were not available - adjust the Air-conditioning accordingly!

Superbe accueil !

The staff of the hotel is super helpful, and welcoming - - thanks Ahmed, Sunday for taking good care of us. We joined a number of excursions with them eg whaleshark, manta, sunset fishing, sunset dinner in inhabited island, snorkeling tours All of them went above and beyond - very thoughtful arrangement, good food etc. - quiet room near to the sea, good location - good breakfast - very warm service highly recommended!

Our best hotel in Maldives. It's a small, very welcoming, and family-run hotel. The owner, Ahmed, and his team made us feel right at home. They create a great atmosphere with the other guests, and we felt very comfortable. Mahibadhoo is a local island with a very good house-reef. We saw even some sharks just swimming around the island by ourselves! The trips have a good price and Ahmed does everything he can to ensure you enjoy the experience. They have free fins and mask if you need them. We took the whale shark and manta ray excursion with them, and they really did their best to make sure we saw them. I could swim alongside a whale shark and then with a manta ray, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Even after we moved to another hotel on a nearby island, we continued to book excursions with them. Ahmed truly cares about his guests and makes you feel at home. If I can go back someday, I'll definitely book with them again. I really think that finding this place made our holidays un unforgettable experience. Thank you Ahmed

Everything was perfect. Just to say something, breakfast could be better. And the room is cleaned every three days (For us, It was ok, but maybe it would be nice to have clean towels every two days).

Camera molto larga, pulita e comoda. Cucina abbondante. Tutti i ragazzi sono stati gentili e disponibili.

Niente

Oświetlenie w łazience zbyt słabe, zbyt mała przestrzeń do przechowywania ubrań

Everything was just great! nice clean rooms, with all the necessary facilities, good stuff, always ready to help. The owner Ahmed is a very cool and hospitable guy. Restaurant is just 10m from the hotel.

Personeel, ontbijt, excursies

Perfect location, 3 minutes walk to tourist beach. Humble and welcoming hosts. Everything is as described. I hope that you’re not expecting luxury at this price. If you are looking for an authentic, local experience, then this island and this property is for you.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about propriety nor people there. Atmosphere is slow and chill, rooms bright, very clean and specious. Breakfast were simple but tasty and we could borrow everything we need to snorkel and have a good time on the beach. But most important part of the stay was people who worked there - owner and two gentlemen who worked in Raalhu Fonu are really helpful, kind and sweet people, making you feel like home away from home. We all have really enjoyed time we spent chatting with all of them. I can’t imagine better place for family holiday and I’m already looking forward to come back to this fantastic place and people.

We were right on the beach. The staff were super helpful, especially when the public ferry was cancelled and we needed to make alternative travel arrangements. The room was great - clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning.

Lo staff era molto gentile

Il grande terrazzo a nostra completa disposizione. Bikini Beach molto vicina.

Had an absolutely fantastic stay here, and the owner went out of the way to make sure I was comfortable and even upgraded me to a better room which was so appreciated! The place is really close to bikini beach and has 2 lovely terraces

It would be great to have the list of available activities on check in to help plan your stay as some things are only available on certain days

We had a truly wonderful stay at Raalhu Fonu Maldives. The room was clean and very comfortable, and Ahmed’s staff were always attentive and helpful, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Ahmed went far beyond simply providing accommodation. He personally took us on a snorkeling trip where we discovered breathtaking marine life, and arranged an unforgettable excursion where we had the chance to swim with sharks and rays – a once-in-a-lifetime experience we will never forget. We are also deeply grateful for Ahmed’s assistance in organizing a private speedboat transfer when we moved on to another atoll. His friendliness, warm hospitality, and helpful attitude made our days on Mahibadhoo Island not only enjoyable but truly special. Thank you, Ahmed, for everything – we left with happy hearts and wonderful memories.

Beautiful small island (Mahibadhoo) with clean, white sand tourist (bikini) beach, coral gardens, all kinds of beautiful fish + rays, free sun chairs. We did not see sea urchins but sea shoes or flippers are recommended. . Sometimes we were alone on the beach, sometimes with two-three couples/families. It is good to know that there is also hospital on the island It is a fairly new, small, friendly hotel with few rooms. Our bathroom was modern with overhead rain shower and hand shower. WIFI was okay. Ahmed (the owner) promptly replied to all our questions. He booked transfer (speed)boat seats for us, We could borrow snorkelling mask and fins free of charge. He provides half day motor boat tours, e.g. to swim with nurse sharks and sting rays, to turtle point and sand bank, etc. Hassan is also very nice, helping guests, taking care of us during organised trips and making nice GoPro and DJI drone videos. As they say, and I agree, they are making lifetime memories for their guests. They have gorgeous videos on Instagram (raalhu_fonu). You can also watch (soon) my Youtube video. The hotel only serves breakfast but there is a small local restaurant (The Wave) few steps away,

Nothing. Only few good-to-know information based on our experience: - Weather is not always sunny even in December. If it rains and wind makes bigger waves all day, you will probably stay in your room. There is no TV so you are depending on your books/laptop/tablet/mobile. It is worth checking weather forecast in advance. - Speed boat between Velana International Airport, Male and Mahibadhoo goes twice a day. It takes cca. 90 minutes if weather is nice. Delays can occur. - Maldives is a muslim country, so it is not allowed to be in bikini in public beaches, alcohol is not served, etc. - You can pay in local currency or in USD. Bank card payment is not always accepted on the island. Fortunately, in Raalhu Fonu Maldives hotel and in The Wave restaurant you can,.You easily find Bank of Maldives branch with ATM if you need cash, but opening hours are special.

Nice quest & hostibility

Mahibadoo, like other islands in Ari atoll is beautiful and peaceful.

No linens in the beds, air condition was noisy, the room I was given originally was stinking of humidity and I was lucky to transfer to a room upper deck.

The staff was incredible: very kind and always available for every need. The excursions are wonderful — they know the best places, take photos, shoot drone videos, grilled fresh fish and truly make you feel at home! A special mention goes to our friend Sunday/Saddam, who followed us from breakfast until late at night, supporting us every day and really making us feel like part of the family. If you want to experience real Maldivian life while still enjoying amazing experiences, this is the perfect place to go. They truly deserve a 10/10 rating!

Kleinschalig, mooie excursie 's Aardige eigenaar.

.

Don't know if It was just me catching a price drop but getting a room this close to the best side of the reef, with aircon and breakfast included, for less than 40 dollars a night was definitely good value for money.

There's really nothing to complain about, but if anything, it would be the lack of communication by the property. When I arrived I was the only guest in the hotel, and given I was not taking any day trip because by my own they would have been way too expensive, I felt a bit left alone. Most of the time there was no one at the property... When I woke up I expected someone to be around to serve breakfast but there wasn't and I thought if I should have maybe helped myself With it. After I contacted the owner someone showed up and told me breakfast time was until 9. I was served breakfast anyways and it was ok, but he could have just told me before. The evening before check out the owner contacted me to tell me there was no spot left on the speed boat to Malè the upconing day. So I had basically no choice but to spend another day at the hotel. It was okay because I had 1 more day before the flight and the place is nice, but again... He could have just told me before. Speed boats being fully booked on weekends seem to be the norm so why not just telling me beforehand that they need to be booked in advance ?

This was a fantastic hotel and I would definitely recommend staying here on your visit to Mahibadhoo. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The organised excursions were great. This hotel is in the best location next to restaurants and the tourist beach. Facilities are also good and the rooms are very nice. Thank you!

Politeness of Ahmed, Modu and their staff. They are always ready to satisfy everything you need. Kindness of Naik the younger , very sweet boy and expert of manta sightseeing . Ahmed recommended us the Wave. A very clean restaurant in which you eat so good and flavourful. Very near to some faboulous beaches and to the equipped bikini beach. They offer the free use of Sea masks and a goPro Hero 11 Black. Ahmed also gave us all the information we needed to do jetski, and reserved us all the transports.

Nothing

Ottima colazione e fantastiche escursioni. Struttura pulita e personale molto gentile e accogliente.

The staff is extra-caring

The property was really nice and comfortable, in a very good location

Amazing place for a Maledives vacation. The bikini beach is close by and has a great reef for snorkeling. The host organized us tours for Mantas and Whalesharks (highly recommend them). Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and as seen on the pictures.

Staying at raalhu fonu was an amazing experiencie we felt like being at home thank you to Mmasuoodh, Minrah and Ahmed they treated us not like guests but like family, we spend a lot of amazing nights with them and other guests it was amazing, mahibadhoo is very beautiful and people even better the are all very kind its like being in a small village when you meet everyone snorkeling was really good you can see a lot of diferent kind of fish including turtles, sharks and nemos activities are very afrodable and the food is amazing and very cheap, thank you again guys we will come back soon. Nora and moub 😘

Nothing Everything was perfect.

The location and the staff . All extremely relaxing

I had a duvet cover but no duvet inside - didn’t bother me

We had the best time staying in this lovely guest house. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We were also big fans of all the excursions they offer. We wanted to see whale sharks, mantas, dolphins, turtles, nurse sharks and explore the beautiful reefs and we were lucky enough that Mas’oodh and Hassan knew exactly where to take us to see them all. We also loved the sandbank, deserted island and sunset dinner they offer. Extra shout out to Mas’oodh for going above and beyond, not only being the loveliest guide but also to shoot videos and pictures during our excursions that we’ll cherish forever. We’re already thinking of when we could go back!

This is a new, modernly equipped hotel in a beautiful location... you can't use the entrance to the sea behind the huts, but it's a hundred meters to the bikini beach. The hotel owner and the guys from the staff are great, you feel at home and every word they say is true. I can't find anything that could be better...! Keep it up!

...I have nothing! Maybe just a little slower breakfast service, but I'm really messing around!

The beds were super comfortable, and the location was a one minute walk to the beach. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The turtle tour was excellent our guide took great drone and go pro videos for us included in the tour.

Make sure to bring Euros or Dollars because if you pay the excursion in Rufiyaa they give a bad exchange fee. Many hotels do this so it’s best to bring dollars or euros.

Everything was perfect, Ahmed is a wonderful person, he will help you with everything! Very thankful to him and very recommended stay:)

Nothing

The room was clean and with all the amenities that were stated on the website. The location of the property is good and very accessible from the beach. The staff was friendly and assisted both during arrival and departure. I had opted for veg breakfast option which was limited but then the staff assisted us in cooking our own meals which made the stay comfortable.

Nothing that could be complaint about.

At this accommodation you will find everything you want, a delicious breakfast, friendly people ready to help you with everything you need, accommodation close to the beach and offering snorkeling equipment. Ahmed organized the most beautiful activities at ocean. Whatever activity we wanted to do or whatever we needed, the people at the accommodation helped us and offered us. This accommodation is more than a simple place to stay, the people there make you feel like part of the family. A part of our soul remained there and we couldn't wait to return.

Good location, comfortable room, helpful and super kind staff, delicious breakfast, free water and snorkeling equipment. Excursions organized by the guest house are great and you can also meet other guests. We had an amazing time here, highly recommend it.

Ahmed is a great host and very interesting to chat to on the history and politics of the Maldives. He also makes the best coffee I had on my trip! An excellent place to stay!

Nothing

-The wonderful staff who were so attentive and Ahmed :) -Breakfast was very yummy -Close to bikini beach -Nice excursions to see nurse sharks and turtles -Water filtration system so that we can fill up our water bottles (and avoid plastic bottles) -Lovely terrace outside on the second floor -SUP available to borrow -Clean rooms with beach towels provided

Everything was so so wonderful but if I really had to share something is that if you are only two people on a trip you will have to pay more than if more people join. Again this was not a problem at all during our stay, Ahmed made sure we got to do all the excursions we wanted to do at a really good price (thank you!!).

Very comfortable guesthouse. The staff are like family and will do anything to help. Maldivian breakfast was great. Arranged excursions were excellent and the staff even cooked up a freshly caught seafood lunch on a deserted island.

Nothing to say

Fantastic Team thanks Ahmed and his staff we spent 10 days in this structure and we can say we are very satisfied. It felt like we were in the family .... a big family thanks again and we will see you soon.

Everything was impeccable! The property is stunning, with every detail carefully thought out, and the cleanliness was outstanding. The staff was incredibly professional, friendly, and always available, making us feel right at home. Absolutely flawless service—highly recommended!

Great room, very clean, nice terrace and bikini beach and restaurants really close. And we really enjoyed our stay here because of the amazing team and their good work on hospitality. Everyone was super helpful and nice all the time. Snorkeling gear and a orientation snorkeling was included and we booked one of the many excursions they offer which was amazing too. Can absolutely recommend this place if you come to mahibadhoo.

Price appropriate guest house. The room was clean, the staff is warm and welcoming, the location is close to the beach. They organize excursions, Picnic island is definitely worth going. Breakfast with 2 options: either omelet with sausage or omelet with Maldivian dish, also butter, jam and juice. By the way, the staff is friendly and they prepared the omelet for our 1-year-old child the way he wanted.

You have to apply to clean the room. It can be said that there were no windows, there were 2 windows that could not even be opened, that is, the light did not enter the room.

That was one of the best experiences of my life. The best staff in Maldives, they take care of everything. Magic adventures. highly recommend it, live you guys and see you soon ❤️

Everyone and everything was perfect, staff amazing service and very professional. Fantastic tours. I will recommend the property to all mine best contacts and for sure I will be back. A small piece of my heart is still there. Thank you so much.

Nothing.

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, the service was top-notch. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive to every detail, ensuring that my check-in was smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. The hotel’s facilities were impressive as well. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning with a wide variety of fresh options. The location was perfect—conveniently close to the beach but tucked away enough to provide a peaceful retreat. I also appreciated the complimentary shuttle service, which was provided when I left the hotel. Overall, my stay exceeded all expectations. The combination of exceptional service, comfort, and amenities made for a truly memorable experience. I look forward to returning and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

We only spent one night on the island, but everyone was very helpful and friendly. I can only recommend!

The staff were excellent. The location is perfect. And the bed super comfortable. Close to an excellent restaurant called Waves. House reefs are fantastic for snorkeling.

Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Really needs a set quiet time like many other accommodations. Had some other guests talking loudly into the early hours one night in the dining area.

Absolutely amazing place to stay with spacious and new rooms! But the best part of this property is the staff! They go above and beyond to make your time in the Maldives as amazing as possible!

Nothing

Mashood and Ahmed were absolutely amazing - there was a whole bunch of excursions to choose from and it was all round a perfect stay

The house is new, clean and beautiful. And there is a place where you can relax and enjoy the seaview nearby. The time I spent here is comfortable and chill. Since the duration I stay is low season, the guest house offering me free tour guide for the whole island and free snorkeling plus GoPro video and photo. The boss and the staff here are really, really nice and kind.

Friendly, helpful, hospitable owner. Buggy transfer for bags from harbour to guesthouse. Good buffet breakfast included in room rate but provided at local cafe.

We only spent one night here and overall it was a comfortable stay. The bathroom was clean and had a good warm shower. The bed was comfortable and firm and the room had good daylight.

The room had a moist smell (no molt detected though) and the one wall was like it wasn’t finished. The room only had bright lights and no bedside lights.

Nice and New place to stay!!! The owner and the 2 mens Who are helping him, are so kind, always smiling, helpfull and talking about life on the island and other things. The excursion turtle trip was fantastic ! And on the désert island they give us fruits and drinks under the umbrella. Also beautiful bikini beach. Wonderfull expérience !!!!

Maybe in the room à wall coat rack, also in bathroom , with all the wet clooths BUT i don't consider it as à négatif point, just a advise :)

The hospitality and homely level and service. Ahmed and his team (including Mashoodh and Wiam) went out of their way to ensure that our stay on the island was comfortable and fun. This included free snorkeling guidance and a cool excursion farther out to dive among turtles, and a snorkeling picnic at a picturesque sand bank. The property was also kept clean at all times.

Not much, but the lodge is still relatively new hence inevitable growing pains that I have no doubt they will surmount and become even more exceptional over time... But this is just nitpicking, there was nothing that would stop me from staying there again in future (looking forward to it)...

Everything :)

Ahmed is very nice and caring guy. Always helpful with every need we had.

amazing host and great facility :)

Everything! Hospitality 10/10 Nice people and very friendly

First of all, I highly recommend you read it until the end. An excellent facility on a small and quiet local island full of underwater riches. As soon as you put your feet into the water at the tourist beach, you are surrounded by dozens of different species of fish, but swimming with the fish seen on Youtube is a priceless experience. Mr. Ahmad, the owner of the hotel, is a very polite and helpful person. He is very professional in making all the necessary arrangements for you when you arrive from the capital to the island, in welcoming you at the entrance and when you leave the island. If you want to participate in off-island activities, they will help you as much as they can. You have breakfast as an open buffet at the best restaurant on the island. You should definitely try the product made especially from fresh tuna. Among the 4 hotels I stayed in on 4 different islands during my Maldives trip, this was definitely the newest, cleanest and cheapest. I can guarantee that you will feel at home in this hotel. I would also like to consider that restaurants, off-island activities, and many other things on the island are cheaper than on many tourist islands. Also; Mahibadhoo may not be the best island in the Maldives, but it is a fact that there are better ones in terms of nature and tourism. But if you really want to relax in a quiet environment, this quiet and tiny island located in the natural wonder South Ari Atoll is definitely one of the best local islands you can find. Never mind that the tourist beach is smaller than some, because there are only a few people on the beach at most, so the beach is yours! I definitely recommend splitting your Maldives holiday across more than one island, as I did, and devoting at least some of it to this island and this hotel.

Ahmed the owner is a great man, we were snorkeling together, planing tropy and always helpfull. Good value, nice people and nature…

-

It's a small new cozy Gest with spacious rooms. Gesthaus is located near the Beach. The soul of this Gesta is AhmedKhali, his concern is felt at every stage of stay. It helps to solve the issues related to the stay on the island - whether it is excursions, transfer or bbq from fresh fish. I definitely recommend to visit.

brand new hotel, very beautiful and really inexpensive for this service! nothing to say, the owner is a very nice person and really attentive, don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it! we had a very good week thank you again 🙏🏻

We spent 3 wonderful nights in Raalhu Fonu, we received a warm welcome and were very happy with the room. It was clean and in a good location with a beautiful bikini beach and a house reef for snorkeling. The island is not too touristy but still offers good restaurants and tours. we got a very authentic insight into the Maldives.
