Beautiful farm close to Stanford. Lovely gardens and rooms are very spacious room and also nice and private

We absolutely loved the surroundings and the animals, with a special shoutout to the rooster, which was super friendly. The rooms were clean, and the bedding was spotless. The breakfast and on-demand baskets are very original and filled with delicious products.

As a point for improvement, I would suggest more attention to detail regarding dietary requirements. I mentioned being gluten-intolerant, and the first day they brought a basket with options for me. The next day they forgot, and there were no gluten-free bread or muffin options (luckily, I checked in time). I mentioned it, and they fixed it right away.

المكان خرافي فاق كل توقعاتي لكن لازم تعرفون انه بعيد عن المدينه واقرب مدينه له هيرمانوس وتبعد نص ساعه تقريباً وحتى البعد أعتبرها ميزه لأنه يفصلك عن العالم الخارجي تعيش وسط الطبيعه فقط

The farm setting was beautiful. Lovely gardens with a tranquil river nearby. All the facilities were well maintained and it caters well for children and adults.

Loved everything about the farm. We ordered in supper for our first night- delicious butternut pepperdew lasagna and 2 choc brownies (and we were served 10) also subliminally delicious! The generous breakfasts were presented so perfectly in a basket with fresh bread and farm eggs and and lots lots more! (Have to mention that the bed was so ,so comfortable with crisp white sheets and an electric blanket)

It would be wonderful if there were paths for long walks along the river and access to swimming spots. Everything was amazing including the lovely and friendly staff!

The accommodation was clean and well equipped. There was a log heater (we came in July) with a braai and a log fired hot tub on the patio. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was brought to your accommodation at 8.30 and the food was fresh and plentiful. We also had a braai baskets delivered for our evening meal on the braai. And you were accompanied by the animals. What more could you want? Reckon it would be spot in the summer

Schönes großes geräumiges Zimmer mit Garten. Sehr schöne am Fluss gelegene Anlage mit wunderschönen Garten. Sehr gutes Frühstück, das zum Zimmer gebracht wird.

Die Anlage liegt schon etwas weit vom Ort entfernt.

I loved the location, the farm, animals, friendly staff, the decor, and the breakfast was nice too.

I really didn’t like the over-powering perfume smell in the room - and I found the scent on the bedding also very strong. I think something lighter or more neutral would be better, especially seeing as it’s such a beautiful, natural environment with so many real smells outside.

Beautiful cottage that we were in, and very comfortable furniture. We loved the braai area, and the breakfast boxes each morning. It was great to walk in the veggie garden and pick produce, and the flowers were lovely too. Some great sunsets from the western side of the houses.

I didn't realise that we hadn't booked a cottage with a Kol Kol so we were really disappointed to not have one of these. Quite a lot of mozzies - so maybe the farm could provide repellents or sprays? A little pricey - but it's a spoil. The breakfast box was lovely, but more variation would be appreciated for multiple days. I wish there was a pool for all guests.

Besonders die Nähe und Zugänglichkeit zu den Tieren hat unseren Kindern gut gefallen. Das Frühstück ist besonders liebevoll und hausgemacht, wir hatten auch ein gekochtes Abendessen, das sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Eine Empfehlung ist außerdem die Massage ;-)

Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte auf unserer Reise. Die Farm begeistert sowohl Kinder, als auch Eltern. Sehr liebevoll geführt, Mega-Essen, wundervolle Dekoration überall, viele viele Tiere für die Kinder, besonders schön am Wochenende, wenn die Farm für alle geöffnet ist, toll gelegen am Fluss und unbedingt mit dem Kanu fahren - der Ausblick vom Wasser ist noch einmal mega schön! Die Kinder durften sich sogar in der Töpferstube ausprobieren. Ein großes Dankeschön dafür an Sandra!

Beautiful scenery & garden. We had a fantastic stay at the stable cottage. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. Also the daily breakfast baskets were very nice. We loved as well the option to take one of the boats out on the river. A really nice option during the hot days. The kids loved as well to feed all the animals at the ground

The rooms could have been equipped with mosquito nets, as there were quite a few in the evenings also getting into the rooms.

Absolutely everything was fantastic 100% recommended and can't wait to visit again

Wonderful farm style living at the Rivergate. The staff so friendly and helpful. Fresh and delicious breakfast delivered to our doorstep every morning which had everything you could need for a feast. We were lucky to experience the Sunday market which is hosted only once in a few months and really enjoyed the hustle bustle on the day. It was wonderful to be surrounded by farm animals during our stay my daughter enjoyed interacting with the animals which included cows, goats, chickens, geese, donkey and even alpacas! The hot tub and fireplace in the cold weather was an amazing experience!

I really cannot point out anything to complain.

The king sized beds were super comfy and clean. Rooms were serviced daily. The breakfast basket was so well presented with everything that you needed for a hearty breakfast. We picked fresh vegetables from the garden. Enjoyed the interaction with the farm animals too.

A truly wonderful farm stay. Rivergate Farm Stay offers a beautiful, peaceful farm setting with a charming farmhouse, incredibly comfortable bedding, and a fantastic braai area complemented by a wood-fired hot tub. The farm-fresh breakfast baskets were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. A perfect escape to relax and unwind.

Beautiful property and really comfortable rooms

Everything was superb. From the staff, to the food, the animals, the riverboat cruise....I can't praise it enough.

Wished the restaurant was open whilst we were there as we had heard it was excellent. Having said that, the ready made meals we delicious.

The property and facilities were lovely. Everything was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We would definitely come back! The animals are also a real treat for the kids to enjoy.

It felt misleading to put feed (for the animals) and sweets on the kids’ bed and then charge for it. Rather let people know they can purchase if they want to. I feel that if something is left on the bed, it is more associated with giving the patrons a gift upon arrival. That has a more homey and welcoming feel.

This was probably one of the most beautiful places I've visited in the country. The view from the river is fabulous. All of the flowers and decor of the property is so tranquil and pretty. And the staff are incredible - taking our kids in the back of the truck to meet the chickens, helping me get the hot tub warm much faster, letting my toddler have an orange from the counter when she wanted one! The food baskets are plentiful and delicious. The kids LOVE feeding the animals.

We had 2 units for our family of four, thinking we needed it to have a separate space for each kid to sleep. But one of the units had a little side room, so we actually had plenty of space. Since it was too late for a refund, we invited our friends to just crash in our second room for one of the nights. And later we got a bill with a significant extra charge because apparently you pay by the person, not the unit. We didn't require any additional food or cleaning or anything so this felt a little frustrating given all we'd paid already.

Perfect stay on the farm!

Breakfast -lovely fresh eggs and continental breakfast-baked bread/muffins daily, ham,tomatoes. Kolkol hot tub was a treat in the cold weather. Fresh braai pack and pasta dinner pack -staff accommodating at last minute Beautiful setting, kids loved the farm animals

Wi-fi was very challenging as I had to do some work online; connectivity was slow Braai basket very expensive - paid for double of what we expected we were ordering (delicious, but quantity just too much for 2 adult and 2kids)

Generosity of amenities. Also nothing was too much for the staff. They were extremely helpful, accommodating and generous. A beautiful property that is for the high end traveller that is looking for self catering with the ability to order their restaurant food for lunch and dinner. Breakfast basket was fresh and very generous. We will definitely return to this beautiful property

This was the best place on our tour. Beautiful nature, the river, the animals, a cottage with fireplaces and hot tub, which we used in the evening. You will get lovely and great food in the barn and for breakfast. Don’t forget to order the barbecue basket.

The breakfast baskets were a beautiful fresh treat. And every morning, we were spoiled with something different. The wood-fired pool was a real hit (with our teenage son). And we enjoyed rowing - the river is just a short walk away.

Rivergate guest farm without doubt exceeded our expectations and I almost don't want to share how good it was and keep it a secret but that wouldn't be fair. The staff were very friendly and they made our stay very welcoming.We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage which sleeps 4 people and its a very spacious cottage and boasts a big outdoor area and even has a hot tub which we used a couple of times even though it was summer. We also made use of the braai facilities a couple of the nights we were there and not to mention the breakfast basket each morning that was full of fresh ingredients and we loved how everything was packaged with the care of the environment in mind. We stayed 3 nights but next time we will be staying longer to spend more time on the farm with the animals and explore more of the farm. If I could give it higher than 10/10 I would.

Beautiful Place with great cottages and lovely breakfast baskets. Beds super comfy and amazing gardens. Mini Donkeys are so cute! Peacocks with their babies cruising around are very entertaining.

Location was excellent, chalet was big and spacious. The breakfast was out of this world with so many options and lots of food. Staff super friendly and helpful. Lots of animals. Great garden and hot tub.

Only issue was we had some noise in the roof with birds or animals but we reported it.

The location is a few minutes from Standford The farm is absolutely gorgeous - flowers everywhere, cutest animals , very well laid out The rooms are comfy The food is delicious - recommend the spaghetti bolognese and garden salad as a no fuss meal. Breakfast box great Owner run- so everything is Perfect, and everyone goes the extra mile to help make your stay extra special Kayak and SUP boards were so fun Able to go for a walk in their farm over the road .Cute farm shop with beautiful art of the animals on the farm- a special shop. Peacocks everywhere! Did I mention the cute animals 😬

Wow! Just wow! We were blown away by the beauty of this magical farm. The service, the staff, the lush gardens, beautifully decorated rooms and animals is beyond amazing! Everything about it is just exceptional. The breakfast baskets were such a treat, all freshly made and prepared daily and delivered to your room. We cannot wait to visit again, it’s heaven on earth for sure! One of the best stays in the Overberg region - highly recommend booking!

The attention to detail was unbelievable. We loved the canoes and standup paddle boards available to use on the river. Spacious interior and lovely lawns in front of our unit (Stable). The Boulles game left out for us to play was so thoughtful. The owners were always available for a chat or to assist with anything we needed. Beautifully appointed interior with many classy finishes. We loved the breakfast basket that was delivered every morning. Highly recommended!

The nesting starlings that woke up at 5.00 am but were subsequtly removed. its a farm so i do understand the fridge sounded like a washing machine with a belt in it . easlly solved

I liked the setting of the cottage overlooking a lovely garden.

We stayed in Carpenters cottage. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything our fellow guests were saying! Getting to sleep took forever! Lights were needed over the kitchen area.

We loved the pre packed breakfast in the morining. The fact that you can also order lunch/dinner was amazing.
