We had a wonderful stay at Rural Life. The property is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature, which made it a perfect place to relax and unwind. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

The property was beautiful and well-equipped. It was peacefully quiet and the views were stunning. When we arrived for our 4-night stay, we noticed the fridge contained 3 new liters of milk, fresh butter, and homemade jam. There was also an assortment of cereals and loaf of bread. We would definitely stay again.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

A short overnight stay in this really lovely accommodation in a beautiful rural setting. We're sorry that we didn't have longer to stay and enjoy it more.

This was a fantastic little apartment attached to the owners home. We enjoyed the sourdough bread available for breakfast with an assortment of cereals. The owners were very kind and gave us privacy to wander around the section or use the spa or pool. It was a lovely location, great for star gazing being out in the country but still reasonably close to town if one wants to dine out or go shopping. The shower had fantastic water pressure. We really enjoyed staying here for Xmas eve.

Nothing to not like. My GPS wasn't the best but the directions the owner sent me was very clear.

The apartment was quiet and comfortable and was 20 min from Waitomo Caves. My car battery died and Clint was on it immediately. He jumped the battery and I was on my way. So lucky to have been at this property where I could be helped. The weather was rainy or I would have used the nice hot tub or walked the gorgeous property more. The birds were singing a lot at dawn. Awesome!!

Quiet location yet close to Otorahangi and Waitamo Caves. Friendly owners and black lab and I enjoyed a swim in the pool. Well equipped and comfortable apartment with breakfast provided.

Meget smukke omgivelser. Venlige værter. Rent og pænt værelse, badeværelse og tekøkken. Forholdsvis billig leje. Tæt på Kiwi house og Waitomo Cave worms attraktionerne.

Værtsfamilien bor i samme hus, som værelset man lejer. Dvs der ikke er tale om en “lejlighed”, (man har dog egen indgang til værelse, bad og tekøkken som man har privat), men man bor meget tæt med værtsfamilien. Og vi følte derfor, vi var “på besøg” hos nogen. Så man skal bare lige gøre sig det bevidst, at man ikke har området / faciliteterne privat, men “deler” med værtsfamilien (som dog var meget venlige).

Sehr schön, etwas erhöht, sonnig gelegen. Sehr ruhig. Grosser Wohnbereich, grosser Esstisch, gross genug um auch Karten zu spielen. Schöner Pool zur Mitbenutzung, etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber tolle Aussicht. Alles war da für einfaches kontinentales Frühstück. Freundliche Gastgeber.

Sehr schöne Lage auf dem Land. Freundlicher Empfang durch Carla. Es hat Tiere um den Hof und die Aussicht ist sehr schön. Es war alles vorhanden, was wir brauchten.

Very accommodating as we turned up an hour earlier as unexpected. was a nice welcome and lovely views, bathroom nice and left us some nice breakfast condoments.

The sofa bed was quite firm for my girl and she ended up sleeping with me and the husband slept on sofa bed.

Loved how private it was. Great location and nice friendly hosts. Will definitely rebook next year

Amazing host! I booked at the last minute and Carla was incredibly accommodating and had everything ready for me within 30 minutes. She was very friendly and helpful in making my stay enjoyable. Hunter, the family’s black lab, is the biggest love bug and will soak up any attention and belly rubs you’re willing to give him. The hot tub was ready to go on the deck with an incredible view of hundreds of stars and the Milky Way above. Fantastic experience!!

The bedroom is comfortable with a good heater, but the kitchenette and especially bathroom were very cold! (Although I did visit in winter, to be fair.)

We like the view and also the location of the house. Carla was still there waiting when we arrived around 6:30 pm on a weekday. So getting into the house was smooth. Everything was there inside well organized so we didn't have to ask anything. The view and the location is perfect if you want to come out of city life to couple of days. Hunter - the dog is really friendly and will keep you entertained if you are there.

Just the weather to be honest and we don't have any control over that. It did rain like anything those couple of days and we missed feeding the donkeys some carrots. Having said that we did walk around the house in the rain to see the rabbit , pony and the donkey with Hunter guiding us.

The cleanliness of the place is very like a five star hotel, room was cozy and bed was comfortable! I wish to have more time to stay longer

A wonderful spot and very nice host. It was very clean and well appointed, with a wonderful shower with amazing pressure and temperature. Bed was comfortable and we loved the soft sheets, just like at home. The Wifi was perfect and kitchen was well supplied. If you’re looking for a quiet place and wonderful country view, this is the place to be. We really enjoyed it and stayed two nights, and highly recommend it.

We loved this place. The hosts are lovely and the place was everything we hoped for and needed. The studio is clean, well equipped and comfortable. We arrived quite late (around 19:00) but still had access to the spa pool which was lovely. We’d have understood if it was too late as there are kids in the house but it was fine. Watched the moon and stars for nearly an hour. In the morning we made use of the breakfast provided, had a nice chat and were given some carrots to feed the two donkeys and the horse. My partner absolutely loved this. Hunter is a sweet black lab who may be there to welcome you if you’re lucky. He likes snuggles and carrots too, if he gots hold of one. We cannot recommend this place high enough. It’s perfect.

An excellent continental breakfast with a good selection of cereals, fresh bread, tea, coffee, Milo, and milk. The bed, linen and towels were of excellent quality. A very comfortable stay.

Great location not far from Otorohanga. Good parking and amazing views of the countryside. Well equipped kitchen with choice of cereals. Comfortable beds and tidy and clean. Beautiful decor.

An excellent place to sit and enjoy the rural views or to explore activities in the local area. A few minutes in the car and you are in the little town with a really wide choice of cuisine. We ate at Hot Roast and the Thai restaurant, both meals were absolutely delicious. Carla and Clint are fabulous hosts and gave us a warm welcome. The breakfast items were very welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was beautiful, it had everything you could need and was very clean. The welcome we received was exceptional and we really loved being able to pat and feed the donkeys and horse and loved Hunter the dog.

The country setting and vibe really appeals to our family. Was great to swim on a warm day and our hosts were welcoming & friendly.

Lack of a wardrobe for hanging clothes, Bed room layout was not ideal.

A comfortable stay in a great location for Waitomo Caves and only a 5 minute drive to town for shops and restaurants. Perfect size for a couple and the continental breakfast was a great start to the day. Very quiet with awesome views and far stay atmosphere. Would come again.
