ECOCABAÑAS DIOSA JAGUAR tayrona

location, very kind staff, good wifi

no toilet seat, breakfast a bit small

Lovely property and hosts! Great base to visit the park from. Loved feeling very much in the jungle

No hot water, slightly on the rustic end of things which really was no problem for me, but non-outdoorsy people may not enjoy

Location only 10 minutes walk away from Tayrona entrance. The owner Ramon very informative and friendly. Accommodation is simple but nice with no thrills. I particularly enjoyed the shower room open to the stars!

The place, the ambiance, the location and the warm welcoming of Ramon, the owner - very happy to have spent some days overthere

Ligeiro barulho urbano (troncal e escola)

I absolutely loved everything about my stay. Its in a nice area surrounded by a lot of greenery. My cabaña was spacious and the view beautiful..

The place is just amazing . The host is super nice and helpful

Lovely cabana, with lots of space for everyone. Great breakfast. Walkable distance to Tayrona park. Very friendly, helpful staff. Loved the open air, sounds of nature feeling.

We missed the sign when getting there at night, so maybe better lighting of the sign. But with help of locals we were able to find in. So not really negative just something to know when getting there at night.

Staff were so helpful during our stay with great dinner recommendations and held our bags for us while we visited Tayrona! Would recommend

Lovely place. 10 mins walk to tayrona el zaino entrance. Yummy vegetarian breakfast. Bed is super comfy! Basic facilities but we were aware of that. Friendly staff. Lots of dogs and cats who were super friendly

Fantastico

Everything was great. Fantastic attention to detail and a lovely place to stay close to the national park

There was nothing we didn’t like

Nada

Everything was amazing! Ramon was such a reliant and helpful host and even took us to the top of the place to look at mountains. The location was perfect, about a 15 minute walk to the entrance of PNT and a very local part of town. Also it’s beautiful there with lots of birds and pets as well. Breakfast included was appreciated! Would definitely stay again to hang out with Lola the parrot!

Nothing really, there’s not hot water or toiletries but we knew that and was prepared.

The accommodation is beautiful. For the perfect price gets the whole cabana with a great breakfast. private bathroom and sitting area. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The bed is very small for two people. If you use a mosquito net, the post will get even smaller. This was the only thing that was uncomfortable.

A nice hostel with lots of friendly animals - dogs, a black cat, and the parrot concierge. The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and the facilities generally very nice and original.

The walk to Zaino center / Tayrona is short, but leads along the main road, so you are effectively sharing a highway with speeding motorists. The drivers respect the pedestrians when they see them, but I did this after dark and saw my life flash before my eyes once or twice :) Of course, there is nothing the hostel could do about this - but a pavement could be made by the town.

Something different and an experience I really enjoyed! The huts are super cool, you have your own hammocks below with a good shower- I didn’t have a hot one but didn’t need to as it was boiling. The room is spacious and has a fan and a comfy bed. It’s located a short walk from el zaino entrance and so works well if you want to get there early. Saving the best till last- Ramon is a really nice and friendly man- he makes great Arepas for breakfast and looks after the place and all his pets really nicely- he has a parrot, a cat and a couple of dogs that join you which is nice. I also saw some cool banana spiders (non dangerous and far away from the living space) and there are a fair few mosquitoes so bring spray.

I loved the place but if you’re squeamish or don’t like the outdoors it may not be for you. The mosquito net could be a bit bigger.

Ramon is such a kind and helpful host! He made our stay super comfortable and helped us in anything we needed 😊 we left our big backpacks while visiting Tayrona and when we came back, he had put them already in the room. The cabin and spaces are beautiful, all integrated in nature. You have courtains for a bit more of intimacy, two super comfortable hammocks and a shower with good pressure. Upstairs you have the bed and a hanger for your clothes. You also have a private space to seat and eat. Breakfast was delicious, most of all the "arepa de huevo" 🤤 We love our stay there and we also loved that this is a small animal sanctuary! Ramon adopts many animals in need, including a guacamayo, dogs and cats 🥰

Bed is a bit small and the net was also small so it made the space even tighter. The neighbour's guacamayo likes to scream a lot and early, bring earplugs 😅

Amazing veggie breakfast. Fresh fruit, juice and coffee! Lovely dogs & cats and even a parrot! Ramon is a superb host who helped us out with a lift to Tayrona, and even let us do a bit of cashback so that we could catch the bus! What a man :D

Nice breakfast, comfortable bed, the hosts were helpful and friendly, the Wi-Fi worked and the fan kept us cool at night.

The place was very different to what we were expecting and we couldn’t tell in advance what it was like from the pictures or other reviews. We booked the double room with private bathroom - the bathroom was outside and undercover on the ground floor which was enclosed only by curtains so it wasn’t private and you could easily see into the area and lots of animals came into that area (dogs, cats, a parrot, a huge spider!) Our room was above this area, accessed by a trapdoor through the floorboards which didn’t have a lock on it and the windows had no glass in so it didn’t feel very secure. We were told by the hosts it was safe. There was a parrot in our room when we arrived which was odd! You could clearly hear the road, many animals, other guests and the hosts from the room. Ear plugs and eye mask were definitely needed! The accommodation was much more basic than we were expecting.

not far from the main entrance to Parque Tayrona - Ecocabanas was a unique stay in an open air cabana style accomodation. The breakfast was simple but nice each morning and the property is quiet. It's nice to share the place with the owner's pets haha! The owner also gave us a great tip for a nearby waterfall.

make sure you bring insect repellent! other than that it is good value for money within a 15 minute walk of the part.

Ramon and Paola bring you down to earth and make your soul at peace. They are perfect hosts and make delicious breakfast. The place is beautiful, with many friendly animals. Its walking distance from the tayrona entrance and also has other lovely walks and rivers nearby. I could not recommend more.

That I could not stay longer

The property was fantastic! Cute cabins with everything you need. Felt a good combination of private space but also a communal area.

The property was great, good location to Tayrona Park and our host received us in great manner. Very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing was it rained during our stay but that is out of anyone’s control!

We were very comfortable. The cabanas were off the main road, so the traffic was a bit removed, which was lovely. There are a couple of small shops and a trail just continuing down the road so we could explore the river. We stayed in the cabin and it was clean and comfortable. The area around was shady and cool. Ramon was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and offered at whatever time was convenient to us each day. Would definitely stay again.

There were not enough comfortable chairs to lounge on for five people in the cabin area

We had a lovely couple of days stay here. We stayed the night before and again the night after we had been to Tayrona. The staff were very friendly and helpful - any questions we had were answered quickly. Breakfast provided was good and they were flexible with timings to suit us. Each ecocabaña has a private terrace/area to sit in which was really great to be able to relax in a hammock. We were able to leave our big bags overnight when we stayed in Tayrona which was really helpful and kind of the owners.

It is a short walk to the restaurants/Tayrona gate (about 15 mins) which is down the main road and isn't well lit which is a bit tricky walking for dinner at night, but we did know this when we booked and was fine with a torch.

Very nice and friendly host, he gave us all the infos how to get there and what we needed to know. The place was really nice in the nature, especially with the small river down the street! Would recommend it 👍🏽

Such a great experience and affordable way to stay in the park for easy access to Tayrona. Very unique accomodation which we loved- breakfast served everyday which was a lovely bonus. Ramon was very helpful and kind.

Basic ammenities as expected but it worked and was part of the charm!

Ramon was a wonderful host! He helped us discover new hikes, waterfalls, beaches, and served us a delicious breakfast each morning. We felt at home in his place. The view from the top of his property is beautiful, and it was great to be so close to the river and hike right from our cabana. We could walk to Tayrona and take a short bus ride to other sites. The small town of San Rafael was the perfect landing for us; we loved experiencing culture in that way. The accommodations are simple but we're exactly what our family wanted.

It was all excellent.

Great starting point for a trip to Tayrona National Park! The place is cosy and has both hammocks and chairs to chill. Helpful and friendly staff, however at least a bit of Spanish is required.

The bathroom was quite dirty and full of ants when we first arrived, and the toilet flush was not working. It was cleaned and fixed straight away though, so that was fine. The main issue was that the double bed/mattress was a tilted so it wasn’t super comfortable to sleep in there.

We stayed here for one night. The receptionist was very friendly, accomodating and helpful. The room was what we were expecting: very simple, it made it for 1 night.

We had a wonderful stay here before and after our hike through Tayrona park. The cabin was lovely and surrounded by wildlife, a cat and three dogs). There are a couple of nice trails nearby as well, which are reachable by crossing a river. Last but definitely not least, Ramón was super kind and helpful. For example, he helped us arrange the hammocks at Mirador de San Juan and led us to the trails. ¡Gracias por todo Ramón!

very special place, like a homestay, with a very nice and helpful host Ramon! Beautiful hut with comfy beds, good mosquito nets and good shower. Tasty breakfast too! We loved it there.

We stayed in a beautiful cabin, with lots of space, a fan, and a good mosquito net. The owners are extremely sweet. The owners wife went out to buy food to cook for us in the evening, and the included breakfast was great. The cabins are just a 10 minute walk from the Tayrona park main entrance. It was a great place to rest after two days in the park.

Everything was great.

The location was 10 minutes to the entrance of Zaino. The room was very spacious. It is also close to the river where you can swim. But the best part was the owner. Ramon was very helpful. Thank you very much!

Everything was good

The location is near the entrance of the national park (probably 15 minutes walk). Its quiet, clean and the rooms are basic but spacious and it has a mosquito net. The price is really good and the owner is amazingly helpful. Highly recommend using this as your starting point. Take a swim in the river 5 minutes walk from the compound!

Very spacious, comfy bed, away from Main Road, so less noisy then the other places nearby! Very friendly owner, helps with everything. Moskitonet hammock and seating area on the terrasse

Bathroom could have been cleaner. Toilet was also dropping down water on the floor.

Ramon and Maria are the best, very welcoming and easy going. Was a very good stay before and to relax after coming back from the hike in tayrona park. The location is very good, little away from the main road and in green environment. Also the room is spacious and has a little balcony. The breakfast comes with fresh mango juice from their tree!

Nothing

The property was amazing with great facilities and relaxing atmosphere. It was a perfect base to explore tayrona national park and surrounding areas. The owners were incredible with such warm hospitality.

I can't fault anything

Ramon was super helpful and kind, he gave us fresh mangos from his tree which were delicious! Highly recommend.

- Very nice owner - In nature - Silent place - Payment by credit card

- Bathroom could be more clean

Everything was awesome, but most especially the host staff.. they were exceptional! These couple are really helpful and did everything possible and went out of their way to accommodate us during our stay. very very nice people.

nothing

Really beautiful elevated cabin with a balcony. Short walk from the river and the hosts were very nice.

Breakfast was inedible. Consisted of a sausage and two slices of untoasted bread.

lovely hosts who catered to all my needs. clean, cheap and super comfortable bed and bedding

nothing

The location is perfect for going to Tayrona. The beds are very comfortable and it's in a peaceful secluded area so I had a very good night's sleep before heading to Tayrona. The host is very friendly and helpful. I had no problem storing my bag there while I visited the park. The breakfast was excellent and a excellent start for a day of hiking. There are some shops very close so you can pick up some things easily as well.
