Mongki's Pension House

The host is very accommodating. I really appreciated their hospitality I have my nieces visit me in my room for a few hours.

Good to stay

Staff provided great customer service. If I required room service it was no problem. Room and bathroom are kept clean and they provide great air con for the room. Plan on staying here again when I return to Palawan. I can’t express how great of a week I had due to a great experience with Mongki’s Pension House.

El personal muy agradable, estaba todo muy limpio e impecable y la comida era básica pero de calidad, y tenían unas cabañas muy acogedoras para las comidas.

La habitación era bastante más pequeña que lo que parecía en las fotos y la ducha estaba encima del inodoro así que cada vez que te duchabas mojabas todo el baño.

Me encantó el trato por parte de la gente del hostal, muy atentos para todo. Las habitaciones estaban muy correctas también.

El sitio para acceder es un poco complicado el camino de piedras, pero bueno. Todo lo demás perfecto

I was very happy we booked Mongki's for our 2-noght stay at Puerto Princesa. Their property and rooms are extremely clean, as in pristinely clean and orderly. You can see the owners and staff take pride in this. They are also so kind and helpful, we felt so welcomed. Just because of these plus the extreme cleanliness, we felt right at home and wish we had a longer stay. We booked a room for 3 which gave us a double bunk bed and a third double bed that I used. The mattresses, pillows and linens were all very comfortable. The AC is one of the quietest units. I loved their front yard with the kubos. One of the reasons I chose Mongki's is because of this. I am a Filipina-Canadian and I wanted my teen kids to experience these huts for eating and hanging out, like I did when I was young. They also have a beautiful and inviting sitting room with large windows on the second floor. Mongki's serves food and drinks at a reasonable cost and we enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. They also offer tours, transfers and car & motorbike rentals. We didn't avail as I had already pre-booked ours. I would highly recommend Mongki's and would definitely book again!

El personal es atento y simpático. Mongki se encargó de que nos sintiésemos como en casa. Organizan tours (hicimos el de Fireflies por la noche en el río). La comida está rica, aunque quizá es un poco cara comparado con el precio de las carinderias, pero es muy cómodo comer en la zona de cabañas. Buena limpieza y gran respuesta frente a los imprevistos.

Está un poco lejos de Puerto Princesa centro y las playas de alrededor no son las más espectaculares.

The property was really Amazing and the Vibes is very Welcoming. We felt like Home at the Mongki’s Pension House. All the Stuff are very Friendly and Helpful all the Time, including the Owners who are always there for you.

Staff were very rude, but the hotel itself was clean. The hotel was clean, and the room itself was comfortable. However, there were several things that disappointed us from the moment we checked in. There were no spoons or complimentary drinking water in the room. The towels were very thin and had an unpleasant smell, and even the blankets didn’t smell fresh. The location was also not very convenient. It is far from most places, and there are no 24-hour convenience stores nearby, which made it difficult whenever we needed something late at night. The night before, I informed the staff that there was a small stain on one of the bedsheets. It wasn’t a big stain at all—you could only notice it if you looked very closely. I only wanted to let them know so they wouldn’t think we were hiding it. The staff member understood, and we talked about it calmly. I explained my side, she explained hers, and everything seemed completely okay. The next afternoon, a staff member knocked on our door and asked if they could clean our room. I told her to wait because I was still doing my makeup. Before we left to go to SM, I went downstairs and told them that it was okay to clean the room. She smiled at me and said, “Okay, ma’am, we’ll do it now.” Because of that, I expected our room would be cleaned while we were out. When we came back later that day, the room had not been cleaned at all. The bedsheets were still the same, and nothing had been done. We went downstairs to eat, and I politely asked why the room wasn’t cleaned. The staff explained what happened, and I simply said, “Okay, no worries.” I didn’t complain or argue because I understood their explanation. We were even talking normally, laughing, and joking together afterward. There was no argument at all, and I honestly thought everything had already been settled. Later that night, while we were about to sleep, the manager suddenly came into our room.

I had a wonderful stay at Mongki's Pension House. The room we were in was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax arriving from Manila. The staff were warm, courteous, and always willing to assist with out request. The place also offers great value for money.

The only downside is the location. Even if the pension house is relatively close to the airport, the property is tucked away from the main road, and the access road has a portion where it is rough.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, due Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Alles ist sauber und die Außenanlage ist auch sehr schön. Würden wieder da übernachten, hatten 2 Zimmer

Es Istrien wenig versteckt, und der Weg zur Straße ist nicht so schön zum laufen, gerade wenn es geregnet hat. Uns hat es aber nicht gestört

The property was nice and quiet due to its location. The staff were very helpful, respectful and polite.

Property is clean. Staff was polite and assistance was provided with our needs e.g. hot water and cups. The owner was able to move my booking due to cancellation of my flight, with additional fee of course.

Place is not accessible, need a service to get here. We felt unwelcome esp. when I forgot to include my 10 year old niece on head count. The way they approached us was a bit rude, might be they’re thinking that I intentionally didn’t include my niece on checked in. They asked for 500 extra cost for my niece’s stay even though it says on their policy that children are welcome to stay for free. When my mum asked for toothbrush (told her not to ask), the staff answered they are low cost accommodation and they don’t have. It is better to say, we don’t have toothbrush, we might consider that or I’ll speak to my manager about it. We’ve experienced brownout, no generator but they provided rechargeable fans. BTW, paid around 2500 for 1 night- 3 adults, 2 children. Checked the same night, could get a room for 1500-1800 around the city area- accessible and no brownout.

We enjoyed the room and the spacious bathroom. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. We especially loved the courtyard where we could get food!

The breakfast is good, ok lang. The location is quiet far from the accessible road but its safe anyway. A peaceful and relaxing place, the staff are very accommodating and the owner as well. Looking forward to book again this place, if I happen to return in Palawan someday.

The things I didn't like when we stayed there is the distance of travel from the pension house going to the main road. The taxi and grab are not available, hiring a van is costly. The internet connection is slow....yet, can connect to you tube and face book anytime.

They offer airport pickup for a small fee and it was perfect for us, the driver communicated so well we didn’t need to worry about the hassle after a delayed flight

Le personnel est accueillant, aidant et travaille fort pour que votre sejour soit parfait. L'hôtel est un peu loin a pieds des restaurants. Par contre, ils offrent des repas dans leur jardin extérieur que j'ai trouvé beau. C’est tellement propre. Je n'ai jamais vu des planchers briller autant. Ils peuvent aussi faire les transferts a l'aéroport moyennant quelques dollars.

The place is great and clean. We only stay for one night so I can’t comment a lot.

The place is kind of secluded and if you check in during night you will ask your self if you are tracking the right direction.

The owners are awesome!!! They help us in everything we ask and even when we didn’t ask. The place is very familiar and they make you feel really comfortable. Prices are okay for the location.

Even if everything was perfect, however the room was tiny and the bathroom more than tiny… you take a shower almost on top of the toilet, no comfortable at all.

This was a lovely place, very friendly staff and great to have a restaurant on site with nice food (they open very early too which is helpful). Room and bathroom very clean with good air conditioning. Perfect for our overnight stay before a flight.

Location wise great 2km from the puerto princessa airport. Hospitality awesome, well maintained and peaceful.

The bathroom was too small and had tons of flying ant like insects , Red Toyota Vois car that we rented had a full tank to full tank policy, we rented for a day , drove a total of 23km but while returning we had to refill 7.5l petrol so that was quite a blow. I guess a Hummer has a better fuel economy.

We stayed at Mongki’s this April for a night before going to El Nido and stayed for 2 nights again before our flight back home. The place was absolutely clean and the staff were very helpful and has assisted us to our very convenience. I loved how they treated us like family, the owners were very lovely indeed! We had no problems with transportation as they have motorbike and car rentals and the staff are very much easy to talk to! Our Palawan trip was smooth as we had no problems with our accommodation. Rooms, food, wifi and electricity, cleanliness and hospitality, well done!! 10/10!! Maraming salamat po, Mongki’s Pension House! ☺️

Everything is super clean and quiet. The room was spacious. The breakfast was tasty. We used the laundry service which worked perfectly. We were also able to store our luggage for 200P/day during our boat trip.

The location is quite remote so it is not easy to get to the city center. We did not mind but just be aware of that. The mango juice was very watery but that is just personal preference.

Personale cordiale, ci hanno organizzato il transfer dall'aeroporto alla struttura. Inoltre hanno organizzato un transfer privato da Puerto Princesa a El nido, un po' caro ma personalmente l'ho preferito a fare un viaggio di 5 ore stipati in un pullmino .

The hotel was very modern, immaculately clean and very well decorated. There was a lovely sitting room that was bright and sunny - a joy to be in. The court yard has small seating areas where you could enjoy your food and drink. There food was well prepared and of good value. Staff were friendly and helpful with booking my transport to El Nido.

Did not accept credit cards which would have been helpful as I had neglected to stop at an ATM. Location was a bit out of the way, which was fine as I was only there for 12 hours, but not an area with restaurants or shopping that I saw and would have enjoyed if I had been there for a longer stay.

Too far from other establishments. The walk from the highway is scary especially at night. Road is also not paved. I can imagine how the road would look like in the rainy season.
