Sierra Tayrona hostel

Es un lugar bueno, con mucho contacto a la naturaleza y al pie de un río. También con buena ubicación y el anfitrión estaba muy amable, y nos enseñó bastante cosas

No tuvimos mucha suerte porque llovió duro durante nuestra estancia y el techo estaba roto así que el agua se cayó en la habitación. Seguro la arreglará el señor. También nos faltó toallas y la luz del living no andaba. Los baños y su acceso se podrían mejorar también.

La habitación muy bien y el personal tmb muy agradables

Nos gustó mucho la proximidad del río y de la sielva. La Terrassa con su hamaca es perfecta para observar la fauna y la flora como un mirador

Las fotos en Booking son completamente differentes la realidad. Algunas son realizadas con la IA. La ducha no estaba limpia. Muchas veces había una olor de urina y humo de cannabis. No se pueden utilizar la cocina y la machina de café. Al principio la acogida estaba fría pero después simpática con aconsejos de actividades.. A pesar de las decepciones, pasábamos un muy buen momento en este hostel. ...

The most welcoming staff I’ve ever seen they were so nice. The hostel is sooo cute I love it. Very safe neighbourhood with many kids playing in the street.

Bathrooms were a bit small and dirty. The shower pressure was low. But still good value for what you get

El jacuzzi estaba en desuso desde 1590. Deberían actualizar la web, ya que es engañoso. No había luz en la zona común y al del hostal le daba igual, le tuve que insistir para que pusiera una bombilla, sabiendo que era una planta superior y había una persona con impedimento en un pie. Las instalaciones no son nada accesibles para personas con movilidad reducida o mayores, las tablas crujen, el terreno es muy irregular e inseguro. Además el baño tampoco tenía luz y estaba muy sucio y deteriorado.

La proximidad con el río, el entorno.

Las fotos no corresponden con la realidad, aparecen servicios que no existen, es un hostal económico, pero le falta una puesta a punto.

Tiene fácil acceso al río, vistas bonitas y depende de la habitación son bonitas. Calidad precio es económico. Punto positivo tienen toldillo( para los mosquitos) y ventilador Personal amable

Lo que me disgustó fue que ofrecen servicio de spa y no está utilizable, si no dices nada del desayuno no te lo ofrecen cuando todas estas cosas están incluidas. Al final el desayuno si me lo dieron pero bueno. Cosas a mejorar

Un accès direct sur la rivière et une tres belle vue depuis notre terrasse. Une très bonne localisation et un staff gentil prêt à aider.

El Hostel se encuentra atendido por Omar y Alejandro, tienen buena predisposición y son amables.

El desayuno tiene poca variedad y un día no lo sirvieron.

The property is in a good location, short walk from restaurants and the El Zaino entrance and has the river nearby to relax, has a nice communal area with a hammock to relax in.

Stayed here twice between going to Tayrona for a night. Had a number of issues which hindered our stay, I realise the property is cheap, however it’s similar in price to a number of nearby places. 1. The rooms and sheets were unclean both times including cigarette burns and significant staining 2. The photos aren’t representative of the rooms, after staying realised a number of advertising photos are just AI 3. Lots of Mold in the bathrooms 4. Difficult to find staff and felt like an inconvenience with a 20 min wait to prepare the room for checkin both times 5. As we stayed in tayrona, we left our bags at the hostel for one night, we paid 10,000 COP pp yet realised after the bags were never even moved from the public lobby area 6. Breakfast although free was disappointing, we personally stayed for it but would not recommend personally, it was small, cold and a long wait

A melhor parte do alojamento foi a zona, rodeado de natureza e principalmente o rio que estava por baixo, muito agradável.

1) O quarto que escolhemos na booking (quarto duplo standard) não foi aquele que nos foi dado, sendo que as condições do que tivemos não tinham nada a ver com esse - o nosso era um quarto muito pequeno e improvisado. 2) Só havia uma wc disponível e não estava muito limpa. 3) No booking menciona que inclui toalhas mas não nos foram fornecidas. 4) O host mencionou que na booking iria aparecer como se não tivéssemos aparecido (no-show) quando na verdade estivemos lá porque tinha havido uma confusão e alguém reservou o mesmo quarto que nós através de outra plataforma e por isso é não tivemos o quarto que reservamos. 5) A atitude do host não foi correta justificando o facto de não termos tido o quarto que reservamos porque a tarifa que tínhamos da booking era muito baixa - para referência, pagamos 18€/73000COP para duas pessoas, uma noite e as condições que nos foram dadas não justificam esse valor. Depois disto encontramos um outro hotel na zona, ainda melhor localizado e com melhores condições pelo mesmo valor. 6) Se quiséssemos deixar as malas depois do check-in seria cobrado um valor de 10000COP por mala e por noite (não estava mencionado em lado nenhum) 7) Tivemos de esperar cerca de 20minutos para que alguém aparecesse para nos servir o pequeno-almoço, o que fez com que nos atrasássemos para o check-out e o host ainda reclamou por estarmos 10 minutos depois da hora do check-out.

Staff were super friendly, very well situated. Very reasonably priced breakfast and dinner. Hot tub and sauna facility with a clear water river below. Well ventilated room with mosquito nets and a beautiful setting.

Hostel położony jest nad rzeką z przyjemnym tarasem.

Jest mocno zaniedbany, wygląda wręcz na opuszczony. W pokoju były wciąż śmieci, które sama wyrzuciłam bo było w nich mnóstwo niedopałków. Początkowo chcieli policzyć mi za przechowanie bagażu (jeden dzień), ale zrezygnowano z tego kiedy powiedziałam, że w mojej rezerwacji są 2 godziny spa. Nie ma żadnego spa. Sauna to wychodek dla kotów i psów, a jaccuzi to praktycznie kompostownik. Dziwne miejsce. Mimo dobrego położenia, nie wróciłabym tam. Dostałam też inny pokój niż zarezerwowałam, ale może I dobrze bo chyba nie wszystkie nadają się teraz do wynajmu.

Muy cerca a la entrada del parque Tayrona, amé el balcón con la vista al río, ideal para descansar y desconectarse, el sonido del río es relajante… Claudia fue muy buena anfitriona. Lo recomiendo!

Our stay at this hostel wasn’t the worst I’ve had, but being accused and almost blackmailed as a foreign guest for allegedly stealing a wallet and personal documents is completely unacceptable of the hostel owner.The situation felt suspicious and made me very uncomfortable — it came across almost like a scam. Luckily, the matter has been handed over to the police. I would not return to this hostel. Be aware. The place is close to Tyrona park entrance , they have river behind the house which was refreshing.

Space was clean, owner was very kind.

Water was turned off in the evening without warning. It returned in the morning.

The whole place felt like home. The host was very friendly and gave me a lot of advice for places to visit. I would definitely come back.

The owners were great! Easy to have conversations with and had lots of good tips for buses hikes etc. Being next to the river was amazing too, a few steps away from a swim. Really good affordable food too

The bunk bed was a bit creaky, so I think I woke my bunkmate up once or twice by accident when I turned over in my sleep

A lovely peaceful escape in nature with very warm and kind hosts! The food they cook is exceptional and good value. The building is rustic and looks like a treehouse. You have a view to the nearby river that you can swim in and the forest and hills behind. They even have a jaccuzzi and very friendly pets. The guests I met were calm and had some nice chats together. I was able to leave my luggage as I stayed overnight in Tayrona Park for a small cost. Would definitely stay again and can recommend!

The owner was very nice and helpful, being so close to the river was lovely. It was dreamy to dear the sound of the river while falling sleep.

The bathroom was a bit of a walk through the yard with uncovered ceiling, so it wasn’t very comfortable when it rained. The owner made every effort to change this but the wifi had stopped working the entire time we were there. I’m sure this is fixed now, but worth double checking if you need to do travel planning, it wasn’t a big deal for us as we went to a restaurant nearby that had wifi to book the rest of us trip.

Small hostel with really lovely balcony upstairs, it’s close to the river for swimming, close to a wonderful and cheap restaurant and walkable from the park entrance. The owner has two friendly cats too!

stayed here for two nights, in order to visit Tayrona National Park for a full day. if you come here by public bus i recommend to get off at "Plaza Tayrona" and walk 10min to the hostel. it is a quiet, peaceful little hostel next to the river (swimming is possible). good wifi, good mosquito net, hammock, common areas, cold water shower. a tienda is nearby. more food options are walking distance along the mainstreet. we did a big hike in Tayrona NP (about 17km / 10.5miles): left the hostel around 8AM, went by short bus-ride to Calabazo entrance (Bus around 3K / community fee 5K / entrance fee depends on your nationality). walked all the way to Cabo beach, then exit in the afternoon at Cañaveral gate (shuttle to Zaino 5K) and walked back to the hostel. saw different types of monkeys along the way (including red howler).

no towels included. kitchen isn't for guests to use.

The location, the view to the river and the hosts are very kind.

No Electricity. No notice about this. No kitchen, no food, no internet Jacuzzi broken. No towel in room. No functional locks on the doors. No truth in advertising. Very poor quality mattress. Dim lighting. Dirty ashtrays. Incredibly dangerous stairs leading to the room upstairs The use of styrofoam. No apparent care for customer satisfaction from the owner. Owner just wants money. He has. Very dark energy and a suspicious nature. 2 new guests arrived in the middle of the afternoon completely hot, sweaty and exhausted. Owner showed no compassion to take off their backpacks, sit down, and have some water Before paying. He was abrupt and suspicious about collecting money with me as well, and would not refund a dime when I had to leave 2 days early because of the stairs and no electricity, and no internet. The stairs were very steep and had no handrail, so I fell while using the downstairs toilet in the middle of the night. I felt taken advantage of. The owner was unwilling to give me any money back. I left very disappointed.

It was nice and calm and closeby to the tayrona park

Alejandro is a great host. I booked a single room - big bed mosquito net, sockets, a fan and reasonable wi-fi. The breakfast and evening meal were good and not expensive. Towels provided. Not far from both entrances to Tayrona National Park.

There's some building work in progress so some disruption.

Toilette could have been a bit cleaner

The location was amazing. Next to the river & wildlife. The hut slept really good. Great mosquito protection. Great bed. Its almost you sleep outside but you got enough privacy. Simba the cat and Gardian the dog were really cute and the owner can cook very well. The keyword is tranquillo. Don’t expect much, expect nature and a really great night rest. Even if you love luxurious places you can love this place (ill do). We extended our stay for another day only to relax in the hostel and swim in the river. We used the jacuzzi. In the night you hear crickets and frogs singing and the sound of the river and sometimes you hear monkeys. It’s awesome. If you gonna eat. Don’t go to tiki hut as the pizza’s made us sick.

Cute Hostel near the Tayrona Park, perfect to stay there the night before. Beds are comfy, food is delicious and it’s only 3mins by Motortaxi to the park :) also directly on the river

Great location and value for money to be close to Tayrona - we left our bags here and then stayed in the park for one night. The host was super helpful despite our lack of Spanish and cooked vegan dinner for us both nights!

There’s a small communal space but I wouldn’t book it for somewhere to hang out, more for a base for Tayrona.

though Alejandro was nice, he never had change for me - not the day I checked in so I said no problem I’ll grab it tomorrow, not the day I checked out, so I said no worries you can give me change when I get my backpack. however, he still didn’t have it, so I left him the difference. it was still quite good value but on principle this did not feel good. also, he did not give me good information about tayrona, saying a reservation was not necessary when in fact they wouldn’t let you in for 2 nights without one.

The room we got didn't have the wall connected to the ceiling. This means that the people from room next to you can hear you, and you can hear them.

Relaxing, tranquil, quiet, private. Easy access to the river for swimming.

It was a wonderful stay at Alejandros "castle"! I strongly recommend it especiallly for people, who want to calm down, relax and enjoy the nature. Alejandro is an amazing person with a big heart. That makes the difference to the other touristic places around, which are mainly owned by foreigners now. You get served with delicious food and sleep in very good beds. So "think global - act local"...and enjoy :)

You can buy a delicious and reasonably priced dinner at the hostel! Also awesome to be able to take a dip in the river right off the back of the hostel. Our host was also very helpful and friendly!

- our room was not clean - the facility is okayish…but, it is probably the most that you can get in a National Parque - you cannot pay for the room by card…only cash is accepted. The issue is that it is not mentioned when booking, and the only way to get cash in the national Parque is to pay a fee of 10%. I told the owner he should add it to booking.com

Calm and refreshing place to chill near the jungle, early in the morning you can even see some monkeys ! The hosts are so nice, and will help you with everything. The bed was comfy, the sound of the rivier and the nature to fall a sleep. The food from the host is really good, and cheap. The rivier down the hostel is really good for swimming or chilling on the rock. There are some waterfall to visit and Tayrona entrance (El Zaino) is really close

The kindness of Alejandro and Claudia. The terrace with the amaca, the very relaxing atmosphere, the quiet and the "music" of the river.

It was very peaceful, enjoy waking up in the nature with the river nearby. Alejandro was a very good host. Communication was with Google translate since I couldn't speak Spanish but again he really took the time for you. Definitely worth the stay. I upgraded to the 2nd personsroom on top instead of the 1 personsbed. I prefer the view and the extra space I had there and then you could make use of the jacuzzi.

a really lovely place right next to the river and very close to the tayrona national park. clean and comfy rooms, WiFi, hammocks, a beautiful garden. alejandro takes care of his guests at any time. we can also recommend the delicious breakfast and dinner.

What an incredible set up, a beautiful room over looking the river and the jungle, a terrace to sit and relax on, even a jacuzzi! You can also walk down to the river and take a dip if you fancy. It was beautifully clean and felt like a little romantic oasis in the jungle. So so close to the park - a moto taxi there will take you about two minutes. Two lovely doggies and amazing hosts - they even walked us to our bus stop to help us catch the right bus!

We spent wonderful time in Sierra Tayrona Hostel: - perfect location - very quiet and close to the river with access to swim. 15 min by walk to Tayrona National Park Entrance. - wonderful hosts - Claudia and Alejo welcomed us with a big smile and hand full of good advice about local attractions. They were always willing to help and making sure we have a nice stay. They have also 3 nice dogs and a cat and some visitors like monkeys, iguanas and birds :) - Nice and clean room - comfy bed with moscito net and a fan - Great facilities - private bathroom outside the room and jacuzzi bath with sauna. Taking a bubble bath under the stars and with river sound was amazing. Highly recommended!

Claudia was a great host who took care of all our needs and provided great conversation when we engaged her. The facilities were exactly what we expected, rugged but tidy. We had a great time and will definitely visit again. The food was fantastic.
