The Hosteller Wayanad, Vythiri

The staff is very good. Room and wash room is very clean. My stay was vey comfortable.

No restaurant in the premises.

I had a really good time at Hosteller Vythiri, Wayanad. The host, Faizi, was very welcoming and made my stay even more enjoyable.

Location

I loved the fact they have everything app based . Be it transport booking, room service, food delivery. My stay was so smooth and I felt so safe. The local auto wallah they have are very respectful and the staff in the hostel - shibin and Nandini were amazing. Nandini, the community manager organized very interesting events every night. I was on solo travel - she was really welcoming and humble. Shibin helped me one day with a medical emergency. He was so responsive that day. Kudos to the team!!

The pool was clean , location was good.

There was no cafe or source of food in the hostel or nearby. One of the property manager was not at all customer friendly.

Swimming pool was not upto the mark, Bedsheets were not clean. No restaurant in that place. No Swiggy or Zomato was delivering food.

Stayed at The Hosteller Wayanad and honestly, it’s a great spot if you just want to slow down and breathe. The greenery and calm vibe really stand out. The place is simple but comfortable, and the team is helpful. Food is basic, so keep expectations in check. Overall, a peaceful, no-fuss stay.

Power problem is frequently occurring for few seconds but its there and location is surrounding by nature be prepared for small insects insects in your room

They try to appear digital, but the check process is not streamlined. Passport and visa have to be scanned and informations give, but still everything has to be written extra into a book. Check-in application says OTP comes via SMS, but then it’s send via email, etc. When booking an extension one has to go through the hole process again although they have already all data.

The restaurant was closed. The staff looked like someone had bitten them. They were always angry. The TV didn't work. The wifi was slow. The room didn't look clean.

This stay exceeded my expectations in every way. The place was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything I needed. The location was perfect, and the staff was responsive and genuinely welcoming. Everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I’ve been using the hostellers properties for all my travels. And I must say it does not disappoint

WiFi issue

Property is good with enough amenities like swimming pool, swings, common area with books and board games etc. Rooms have clean bathrooms with hot water. Restaurant it available, though food is just passable.

Property is beautiful but not maintained properly. Even at full capacity the staff was not taking care of cleanliness. Not enough dustbins are provided and people litter everywhere, which is not cleaned afterwards. Common area is also poorly maintained and not taken care of. Staff does minimum communication with guests, which doesn't gives a feel of hostel. It feels more like a resort/hotel.

The staffs were really friendly. Even though I reached early, they tried their level best to accommodate us. Gave access to washroom and drinking water. They were always ready to help me for any enquiry.

The food section I would say needs a lot of improvement. As per the price they were charging, the food doesn't taste good not at all. I understand the process of self service, but there should be atleast spoon, napkins and glasss on the table. Also, there should be something to order between 2 to 6 pm.

Property is located in good place. It has playing activities like table tennis, cards and many travel books. Mountains view from common area is really beautiful. I was spending most of my time working looking at the mountains. when it was raining it was really beautiful location.

Food in cafeteria is only veg and very expensive. Property manager sharif always smokes and cares less about travellers. He always asks every thing to do online by customers themselves.

location is very good and staffs are friendly and people who stay as a hosteller had a energetic and interesting stuff to talk about and facilities like pool play area are really added value to the place. my children loved it

Lack of restaurant facilities and wifi was very feeble could able to access the internet facility in the room therefore the TV also my wife very annoyed of not able to watch tv

The overall experience was amazing friendly staff and got a 30min early check in when requested , rooms very super spacious we had taken a couple rooms. If you go with family its highly recommended 100% safety for your family and children can be occupied with games and swimming pool.

Play area and in private screening please maintain hygiene as you guys leave dogs to stay and pee which is disgusting I even gave this feedback to the staff directly the worst part which I don't like. Apart from this please include Kerala food since we come from different state would like to taste the local food as well.

service was poor. No proper food available on the hostel. Based on the timing u can order only veg that too waiting period was too long. No water bottles available at service. We found it very difficult to manage on the food order and services particularly.

Usually The Hostelliers are meant only and above 18 years of age...but in our case they have considered our 1.7 months kid as we arrived bit late and whole staff has been supportive to cook baby meal as when requested. Quite a decent and peaceful place with lots of activities to keep urself occupied. Definately recommended!

The view in the common area is nice. The bathroom is spacious and modern.

DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION HERE. They force you to use a third party app for everything, and you have no choice (they sign you up and spam you without consent). Booking.com is just a feeder for them and does not confirm your reservation. - The "superior room" has termite infestation. The bed is held together with sticky tape. There is mould on the walls. It's not cleaned. Sheets don't fit. - Shower has no hot water. No towel (had to request). Pump bottles for toiletries broken. - The restaurant is terrible. Food is NOT good. Overpriced. Not that much choice (especially breakfast). The 'shalshuka" was creamy pasta sauce with cauliflower. I was served the wrong food, or they didn't have what I ordered. There is no other option meant or via food delivery apps. - If you do pay by cash they don't have any change. You'll pay even more for expensive food because you can't get change. (An extra 73rupees for 199 rupee fruit salad that consisted of watermelon and banana!) - The pool area has no furniture, closes at 7pm, and is so poorly maintained. Half the tiles are missing. - No activities organised. It's far away so nothing to do. - Power constantly dropped out, as well as wifi. - The auto driver they called for me charged double what I paid to go there. When I left they were keen to ask how was my stay. I told them. They blamed me for not asking to change my room! Don't you think a superior room should simply be at a decent standard?? Why is it my problem?? Don't stay here. Wayanad has lots of nice accommodation.

First I want to recommend this because of cleanness and green nature 🍀☘️🌿🌱💚 and swimming fun 🥳, very nice property food was very tasty 😋 , reception people always active for attention to guest , specially sayan Mondal as a manager very good and decent person . Room has many amenities, common area has many games, projecter for Movie, we watched movie arrange by Sayan. I want to come again here Get up go🤘

Great location: the view from the common area is beautiful, the place feels secluded but it’s close enough to town to reach restaurants and shops by walking Nice common areas with lots of options, eg to play table tennis or just enjoy the view. Comfortable beds

Quite dirty (dust in the rooms, holes in the bed sheets), service in general is mediocre. We asked for an auto rikshaw to take us for an early morning hike. When we showed up at 5am it wasn’t there. They managed to get one in the end but it was unpleasant for everyone involved at that hour of the day. the food at the restaurant was average in taste but costly. It could be a cool feature to use an app for the orders but it’s not working properly - doesn’t show the progress, doesn’t tell you when it’s ready. We tried the restaurant twice and both times we waited for an eternity, food didn’t come together so we had finished one dish before the other one even arrived. Tips: 1. when you order through the app go directly to the kitchen and tell them that you’re waiting. If you do it after half an hour wait you will wait another 30 minutes. Or just eat in town. 2. when you want to book a rickshaw make sure several times that it’s been confirmed.

Why have rules you don't inforce? I chose this hostel specifically because of its policy of no drinking in the rooms and no noise. However, they completely failed to enforce these rules, letting the entire place down. At 10:30 PM, I went to bed only to find my dorm room full of people drinking and partying. Seven aggressive men wouldn't let me access my belongings, and when I finally did, my padlock was broken, my bag was open, and 3500 rupees were missing. After alot of chaos, the manager moved me to another room but allowed the disruptive guests to stay and continue drinking until 3:30 AM, so I got no sleep because of the noise. So much for thier rules and thier policy, if you can break the rules anyway! This is not the quiet, respectful hostel they advertise. I would class it as a noisy party hostel where you can do whatever you like, lincluding stealing from other guests. After reading other reviews, I realized I’m not the only person this has happened to. Both nights were filled with aggressive drunks, people smoking weed, and disgusting behavior like someone being sick off the balcony. If you enjoy theft, sleepless nights, and dealing with intoxicated, hostile guests, this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay far away.
