Loved it all
Une maison entièrement à notre disposition
Unforgettable
Get traditional house, lovely garden and pub next door was amazing. Everything you could need was there. Games, white goods, bedding towels
Plug socket hanging off, ceiling light in top bedroom not working, hot water in kitchen tap not working had to boil kettle to wash dishes. Ceiling in attic stairs damaged. Damp smell throughout
We were absolutely blown away by this wonderful place. Ferguson’s is a beautiful old house full of character and charm, with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable, the beds were very comfortable, and it had everything we needed for our stay. The best proof of how much we loved it is that the children didn’t want to leave and honestly, neither did we! 😊 The host was absolutely wonderful, friendly and incredibly helpful. When we had a small issue with the heating, she dealt with it almost immediately, which we really appreciated. Ferguson’s is one of those special places that has a real soul and atmosphere of its own. We loved every moment of our stay and would definitely love to come back. ❤️
If I really had to find something, then as a slightly spoiled housewife, I have to admit I missed having a dishwasher! 😄 But honestly, that’s probably the only thing I could possibly complain about.
Cheap price and spacious
It was generally grubby in places, my son cut himself on a nail sticking out of the staircase going to the top floor, the gate in the back garden going into the pub next door is broken and toddlers can slip through it easily and also a metal gate into the next doors garden so it’s certainly not secure you cannot allow them to roam freely , my toddler lifted a small dog poo from the stones, none of the bedroom doors shut properly so the noise was worse than we anticipated and each other the children all disrupted each other I appreciate if we didn’t have young children travelling our experience would have been different but the property states it’s okay for children and provided a cot ! The bathroom door also has no handle inside you have to hold the small lock bar to open the door ! Meaning young children who cannot reach could not let themselves out if they push it over ! The property had been empty for the week before we stayed and there had been alot of rain , when we turned the heating on there was condensation dripping down the staircase walls and our bedding felt damp to touch we didn’t stay the full time as my sons asthma flared and being so far away from home and our usual gp I was worried ! Also one of the main bedrooms joins onto another single room with cot which we weren’t made aware of and threw a spanner in the works of room allocations when we got there my teenager daughter had to take an attic room; again doors wouldn’t shut properly and the creaky wooden floors etc ! I can appreciate the fact the building may be listed and hence the condition or the windows etc but it’s certainly not small child friendly . Couldn’t play in the garden there were bits of bricks in the overgrown grass and slabs left up against gates to block any gaps which could fall on smaller children or dogs !
Loved this spacious, quirky farmhouse with a fantastic outdoor space. Owners were amazing and a huge help to us when our car battery died the morning we were due to leave.
Nothing really stands out.....they had no salt😄🤷♀️that's just me trying to think of a negative- all I have
Great location close to Everything
Our stay was wonderful! The location was great, the rooms were clean, we felt at home. The kitchen had everything we needed.
Lovely and comfortable home. Had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. I wished we were staying longer🙂. Highly recommend
The location was brillant! Its was spotless clean, everything you needed to make it a home away from home was there and then some! Views were amazing! Will definitely return
Everything a person / family needed was there.
The only thing was the curtains were light and in summer the rooms were bright at 5 in morning.
Very nice and big accommodation. Very easy check-in and out
Lovely, cosy property with lots of nooks, games & books for little ones to enjoy. Beds are very comfortable. Has everything you need for a break away & location is central for many tourist attractions. Nice Supermarket a few doors up which was great. We enjoyed our stay & recommend Fergusons. Thanks for having us.
Lots of space for 4 adults, 2 kids and a dog.
I loved the true individual character of this property. Beautiful, cosy and warm. Central Location for touring serene beaches and historical sites! Owner went over and above to accommodate me and my 5 children, I was soooo grateful 🙏
Only one thing ..... the area where you leave the dishes to set as you're washing them. It's made of porcelain material and I personally hated the clatter it made. That's only a personal thing, as I detest loud or sharp noises 😄
Location. Property spotless. Old characterful house. Everything you could need. Fires set on arrival.
Wonderful genuine experience
Narrow staircase
The village was gorgeous and the people there was friendly and very quiet and peaceful
Fergusons was lovely Lucy was always available and very helpful really enjoyed our stay donegal is. A beautiful area the pubs were so welcoming and the village store was very friendly
Only thing was no resturants close by Killybegs or donegal town were closest
Great central location to explore Donegal, Killybegs and many other places. Local shop and lovely pub next door. Not loud pub couldn't hear anything from the house. Comfortable property which was well equipped. Plenty of space and very homely. Will definitely visit again
House was perfect for our needs. Owner was very helpful & responded very promptly to any queries I had. They also provided High chair & Travel Cots which was great help to us
Nothing
Comfy beds in pleasant bedrooms. The garden/yard faced south. A short stroll to very friendly local pubs - we especially enjoyed Declan’s MacIntyre’s bar with its live music.
Kitchen is far too small with leaky draining board, the oven needed to be cleaned before use and hot water was infrequent. The downstairs cloakroom door neither closed nor locked. The upstairs’ bathroom shower was rather shabby. The property is advertised as having two bathrooms, so we were disappointed to discover only one shower. The outside bins were full on arrival. One was partially emptied the following day, but we really struggled to find room for our recycling and waste needs. The garden/yard was very plain - shame as it has potential to be lovely with a nice view.
The location was perfect, the room sizes were great and perfect for our group. The beds were really comfortable too.
The blinds let in lots of light in all of the bedrooms, in the top attic room there was no blind on the velux window which caused sleeping issues. There was no hot water from the taps (electric shower was great however) and the kitchen presented challenges for 6 of us.
The house was lovely. Very clean and tidy. The owner was very helpful with any queries we had Everything was provided. Lovely area the people were very friendly.
Everything was just perfect, and more . Beds were the best,so comfy .
There was nothing we didn’t like .
The house is well suited for travelling with a dog. Spacious and well equipped.
Sorry but the wine glasses are not great.
The bedrooms were bright and spacious, as was the bathroom. The bathroom had everything you would need in terms of towels, etc Any questions, host was quick to answer.
It was on the main street, alot of traffic, day and night. Didn't seem to have much sound proofing. Back garden was a mess, you couldn't sit out. The finer details of decorating had been missed, downstairs came across as quite grubby. There was a hole in the wall where the door lock had obviously hit it, be nice to have fixed that, not a good first impression. Kitchen was small and not very clean, had a smell. The photos in Booking.com obviously had been taken a while ago. Downstairs very dark & mismatched. There was a presence/feeling in the house which is difficult to explain. We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one.
Location
Great location. Lovely clean property, well set up with a great outdoor space.
Location was ideal for exploring Co Donegal. Bed was beyond comfortable. Good outside area for our wee dog. We loved the pubs on the street with one right next door. Everyone was so friendly that we met. Communication with host was excellent. We fell in love with Co Donegal and staying in Dunkineely was pivotal to our amazing experience. Would love to retu (in the future
This property is quite amazing and quirky. It has the most incredible potential and with some more attention and work it will be outstanding.
The open fire in one room and a log burner in the other room was very cosy and homely the house. Good size back yard area with nice views. Nice beach less than 10 minutes drive away.
Such a good place to stay for larger families, so many rooms for such good value
Absolutely fabulous wee spot..family of 5 with 3 teens..loved this house..great fire in main room..all beds super comfy..more than expected .nothing to say negative!
loved the house and location, plenty of room for all (4 adults, 4 kids), amenities are on your doorstep, nice secure back garden for kids or your pets, perfect location for exploring or fishing trips , highly recommended
Wonderful house in a stunning location, met all our needs travelling as 4 adults, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. It was just wonderful!
That we had to leave!
Lovey house, perfect location close to many different activities. Everything needed was there check in and check out was seamless…
Nothing
Beautiful home , close to many places including Donegal town. House itself was so homely and comfy and clean , will definitely be booking here again
Location is great to explore the area.
The kitchen is really small. We were not really prepared for the fact that there is only one bathroom, it was not clear in the description.
Great Central location between Donegal Town and Killybegs. Lovely quiet location with good facilities. Some beautiful cafes and restaurants around. Try the beautiful fresh fish. The bed in the house was really comfortable and the back garden was fantastic for families and those bringing their dog.
Great big house and secure outside area for our dog. Comfortable sofas and beds and cosy open fire. Pub next door. Good base for discovering the area.
Nothing
Plenty of space
No extra coal as stated
Excellent location , house is really well set up and great for groups , excellent hosts who helped out when keys were locked in the house , would really recommend this place as a base for visiting Donegal, and it helps that the pub is next door as well!!!!
I thought it was great value for the money and it was a good central location -- close to Donegal AND Slieve League. The host was really friendly and responsive, giving great recommendations for restaurants. I loved that you could walk to a market. The house was huge with plenty of room for multiple people to stay and hang out without bumping into each other. I loved that all the appliances worked so you could cook. I also loved that there was a yard for my dog and all the supplies you needed in the kitchen and bathroom were provided.
I didn't dislike anything but I would say that if someone is very particular about sea views, the sea view in the pictures are visible from the bathroom and the back yard but not everywhere. That wasn't important to me and the location was ideal for what we wanted to do and to be able to shop for groceries. The shop a few doors down was well stocked for its size. If you're staying on a weekend and go to bed before midnight bring earplugs as there are pubs very close to the house which close at 11:30 pm and 12:30am on weekends. We are night owls so this wasn't a big issue for us and it did get quiet when they closed. If you want to be able to drink responsibly it is a great location!
Homely feel
Small kitchen
Loads of room
Nothing
Loads of space Good value for money Location
Clean. Comfortable & spacious bedrooms. Easy check in.
No milk, tea etc supplied. Kitchen, living room could do with updating.. Garden is more a basic yard. Location, property on busy main road.
Lovely house well stocked with the appliances we needed for our stay, nice environmentally friendly fire alongside central heating to take the chill out of an autumn evening. we found the house very spacious and beds were extremely comfy, 2 kingsize beds, 1 double and two singles (from memory .. singles may have been doubles, we didn't need all rooms) as well as baby's cot off master bedroom.
we had no complaints
simple and easy. Great accommodation for our family with 6 kids. Easy to access and find. Parking right in front on the street. Chipper a stone's throw away and a next-door pub with a decent pint of Guinness. The south Donegal general location speaks for itself.
Nothing.
Amazing hosts who sent back some personal items we left in the house. Always available and responsive. Location is great and house has great space. Our kids loved it!
Nothing all good
The location was excellent for travelling to local bays (quite a few) and into Northern Ireland (only 45 minutes journey). Beautiful scenery everywhere and Donegal town had several tourist attractions worthy of a visit.
The biggest problem in the house was the lack of hot water - apart from the shower and the need to boil a kettle to wash dishes, there was no hot water available.
Fab house, lovely spacious rooms
Good location to tour.
No line to dry swimming gear. No freezer.
Great location. Very clean and comfy.
