Reviewed May 26, 2026The design of the space is awesome - a blend of Hollywood glamour with an industrial edge. Think high-end, theatrical styling (small stage framed by velvet curtains) and carefully curated décor featuring iconic musicians. It felt immersive, like stepping into a high-end cocktail bar. The area is bigger than it looks, with a huge VERY comfortable bed and an equally impressive TV in the lounge setup. There’s a jacuzzi/spa bath in the bathroom area, with candles and string lights, adding to the feeling of opulence. My daughter and I loved this! What stood out was the attention to detail in every corner of this space. Anellise was exceptionally attentive ensuring we knew our way around. Did I mention the snacks left for us? We wanted to extend our stay but it was sadly booked. I heard the previous guests had the same problem. We’ll definitely be back!

Reviewed May 1, 2026The area was ok. I would not walk around alone or in the evenings though. Main street busy. West side not so save in my opinion. Ample parking on street, Basement parking save & secure. First impression very good.
I expected better attention to maintenance and deep cleaning on a Bookings.com booking with a rating of 9.5, especially because the booking was made way in advance. Changes were not permissible, Payment was no refundable, so what to do, fixing and deep cleaning cannot be done while we are there. replace towels with crisp white ones. Attend to leaks and ceiling damages. Change blinds to curtains. I did not enjoy passing the washing. Deep clean cupboard

Not that i didn't like the parking entrance and exit, but it requires for you to be sober at all times. Its a bit narrow especially if you have a big Car. Not complaining though...

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026I loved the spaciousness of the rooms, the quaint décor and location. The room had everything we required for a quiet Easter weekend. We were so close to everything, we could walk to the beach. There were so many eateries so close. In all my years of staying at the strand, I was most impressed by the owners Annalese and Dave. They were so friendly and helpful. I had a most beautiful and tranquil weekend. I could read and type to my heart's content. I loved the unique Decor. I will certainly return for my future breaks. The place had everything that one would require.

Reviewed Feb 14, 2026Das Apartment ist unglaublich stilvoll und mit liebe eingerichtet. Kapstadt, Stellenbusch und Hermanus sind alle in 30-60 min. erreichbar. Top Lage um Kapstadt und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Annelise und Dave sind wahnsinnig nette Gestgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Nähe zum Meer und zu den Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie Restaurants haben wir sehr geschätzt.Das Ehepaar, Dave & Annelise superfreundlich und immer bemüht und interessert, dass wir uns wohl fühlten. Sie haben uns auch eingeladen. Man fühlte sich wie unter Freunden, wirklich toll. Danke vielmals;-)
Das Badezimmer, d.h. WC und Dusche waren zusammen bzw nur mit einer Scheibe abgetrennt. Nach der Dusche war es dann etwas geflutet und man hatte einen Wischer für das Wasser. Das wäre toll, die Dusche am Boden abzugrenzen.

Reviewed Nov 16, 2025I was initially a bit hesitant about booking this place because I was just captivated by how beautiful it looked in the photos. But I have to say, once I drove up there, I was absolutely thrilled with my choice. The hosts, Dave and Annelise, were incredibly welcoming. Dave is this super artistic guy, and you can really tell the entire apartment is designed with his creative touch. I absolutely loved the style and vibe of the place. The apartment also has a fully enclosed parking area, which made me feel really secure about leaving my car there. The location is great if you’re looking to explore the vineyards or visit the penguin colony at Betty’s Bay—it’s really close to both those spots. It’s also conveniently near the scenic coastal routes and not too far from the airport. Sure, it’s a bit of a drive from downtown Cape Town or the Cape of Good Hope, but the roads are excellent and it’s super easy to get around by car. Overall, the hosts were just so nice and hospitable that I can’t recommend this place enough.
Honestly, when it comes to things I didn’t like, I’m really at a loss for words because I just loved everything about this place. There’s honestly nothing I can think of that I didn’t enjoy!

Reviewed Oct 14, 2025Annelise and Dave were absolutely exceptional hosts! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home. They were engaged, friendly and helpful, always checking in to see if everything was okay or if there was anything we needed. Above all, their engagement with us felt 100% genuine and authentic. Our unit was wonderful! We loved the décor and artwork, which were modern and a little playful yet tasteful. The unit had everything we needed for our stay: a cosy bed, comfortable furniture, a very well fitted out kitchen/dining area and much more. The complimentary bubbles, chocolates, chips and fresh flowers were an added bonus! The location is great – peaceful, safe and very central as a base for exploring the Helderberg area and surrounds.
The only thing we didn't like was having to say goodbye at the end! But, we'll definitely be back at Haus Michau. :-)

Reviewed May 21, 2025the apartment we rented ( Luxury apartment) was spacious, with all the comforts of home , The hosts Dave and Annelise are absolutely amazing, putting little personal touches in each apartment (snacks and bubbles). We were met by Dave ,who was eager to share hes plethora of knowledge on the building Some pieces hanging in the passageway, and the work bench in our Apartment and other items ( such a rich history) I absolutely loved it. It's in walking distance from the beach, shops and restaurants so we didn't have to drive anywhere , if you are looking just to switch for a few days this is the place to be. I'm coming back with friends.

The Comfort room - I would've preferred a tint on the patio door as it faces the garden and not very private. I thought the room had a bath/spa so I was very disappointed that we only had a shower.

Everything that we needed was there as it was a mini stay cation and not to far from home. This is a great place for either a couple, Travellers or even if you here on business. The host Annelise is friendly and easily accessible when you do have any questions. I would definitely recommend this place to any. It was really tranquil and I would go back in a heartbeat.
