Never had the chance to find out as our booking was declined

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet but the most important thing about this place is that there is zero natural light coming into the rooms. I thought from the photos that there would be at least some but the windows are so small and made from that crystal kind of glass so the room is fully dark even in daytime. If you're comfortable with that then it's a nice value place right next to the golden temple. Sarath was nice and responsive, flexible about my late arrival time, and drove me to the bus stand in his tuk tuk when I was leaving at a price marginally cheaper than Pickme offers. I heard from other guests he also does tours and they appreciated him greatly as a guide.
No towel or even a mini soap were in the room upon arrival, and I can't understand a hospitality venue that doesn't provide these absolute basics. The natural light issue as i outlined above. Food was whatever - hoppers, an egg, bananas, and tea - standard for a free breakfast. A bunch of monkeys came in and ransacked the place right after I was done eating, I thank them for patiently waiting.
I had a great stay! The host was exceptionally friendly, communicative, and always willing to help. He even assisted me with figuring out which bus to take for the next part of my journey, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was tasty and generous. The accommodation itself was pleasant and comfortable, and it also had air conditioning, which was a big plus. I definitely recommend staying here!

There is AC and breakfast, the owner drove us to the town once as the hotel is quite far from the town
Dambulla worth only one night to visit tbh. We booked 2 nights but only stayed one as we have nothing to do after visiting the rock. The hotel doesn’t have WiFi, and there was a huge argument between the landlord and other guests. We didn’t know what happened, but there were police got involved. So in this case, we felt uncomfortable staying there.
Water barely worked had to wash hands with drinking water. Dirty sheets
Nice room with good Air conditioning. Very quiet area so it's very peaceful. Owner very friendly and disponible to assist his customers needs.
Better cleaning needed. Change of bedsheets needed during the stay. New set of towels should be provided every 2 days during the stay.
Amazing place and the hospitality was the best we have had so far. Sarath is a fantastic host!
Everything was perfect, Sarath helped us to organise our stay in Dambulla and helped us to take the bus for our last day. The room is clean and comfortable, breakfast was really good too. I recommend, thanks !
Good location.
Access to the upper floor for disable guests.
Good property. Big rooms. Good location to visit the temple in the rock - 10 minute walking distance. Good breakfast provided. A simple place and you get what you pay for.
I visited during May 2025 and there was on going construction which made it very noisy. Broken toilet. Wifi not working. Unfortunately didn’t see the owner during my stay apart from at breakfast.
The room is clean, with AC. Big bed and the room is not small. The kindness of the owner. He helps us to find a tuk tuk at 4 am to sigiriya. The location is really near from the caves (5mn walk). It s just far (about 2 km) from the city center. It was a really good place.
I really enjoyed and very calmfull place.i definitely will be back.for the cleanliness i will give 10/10. Staff also very friendly and service is really good. 😍
The room was nice, there was AC inside. It was clean, owner was amazing. He picked me up from the bus station, arranged a tuktuk driver for me to get to sigiriya. Really nice man.
They could make the terrace look nicer because it has a great potential.
Very friendly owner very helpful
It looks a bit run down
Sarath the owner is super friendly and helpful with everything you need, room with fan and a/c :)
Closeness to Cave Temples. Large comfortable clean bed. Friendly host and friendly guests. Breakfast was included and very nice.
Communication could be better. Nothing within walking distance aside from the Cave Temple. Wi-Fi not working at all. Advertised as a restaurant but not open. Host cooked a no choice communial dinner for 5 guests, which we thought was over-priced.
I stayed for three nights and had an amazing experience. Sarath, the owner, is incredibly friendly, kind, and will do everything to make sure you have what you need. On top of that, he's an amazing cook! The place is clean, and welcoming, and the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended! 😁🙏🏽
Not much, location close to temple which is convenient. And hot water. Owner who gave us some tips about buses.
Unfortunately overall I think the pictures and description are unrealistic. I do believe it used to be a nice guesthouse few years ago but not anymore. Now it is more an abandoned place that is full of mould. Sri Lanka is very humid so we understand some mould but this was really too much and it smelled of mould really badly. It needs some work and reparations. We also didn’t have a key to lock our room and the window at the bathroom leading to outside was impossible to close in one of the room. The owner apologised for visiting his wife in the hospital due to an accident from few days ago. Which we are sorry about and hope she recovers soon. But still it was not what we booked. We were let in by owner’s friend. We stayed and paid but it was so far the worse experience on the island.
Close to Temples.
Very helpful owner, comfortable room, tasty breakfast.
The Temple entrance is close but the entrance where you buy tickets is actually on the other side. So better to take tuktuk there and you finish your temple tour at the entrance that is closer.
Location, room, breakfast and the host are amazing!
The host was very helpful & friendly. We had previously stayed at their hotel in Anuradhapura where we were very well looked after so wanted to continue our stay with them. Breakfast was home cooked & delicious! We had a lovely chat with the host whilst we ate. Slept very well, the bed was comfortable.
Location is slightly far out of the main town but close to Dambulla cave temples & onward bus stops to Kandy.
The breakfast which is included was excellent. Nearby, there is an spectacular temple you can not miss.
It was an incredible experience to stay there. The host is very friendly, nice, kind and interesting man, who is very well educated, has few university degrees, very intelligent man! The dinner and breakfast were great! The real Sri Lankan taste! There also were travelers from Italy and we had meal together, had very interesting conversations, shared experiences! Absolutely must be done in Sri Lanka!
Dambulla is a very humid place, so it was very damp in the room and didn't smell well. But either than that it worth the experience 100%. Just be ready-it's not the way we used to live in Europe.
Host was lovely and kind.
Nothing
Cost was very reasonable, Hosting- Mr.Sarath is very friendly guy. Room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was delight and wondering how they offer this much of good service for such a low cost. Good luck and thank you! Recommended !
Nothing to say any bad.
The manager is an amazing and kind person, and not only as regards the guest house, but also very helpful with tips and what to visit next in Sri Lanka. Also, location is walking distance from the Dambulla Cave Temple and every bus to Kandy or Sirigya stops nearby. Breakfast was also included and delicious and on request you can also order dinner there (which I did, and I was fully satisfied).
The owner Serath is fantastic. He made local food for breakfast and dinner, and food was very delicious and big. You can have a good conversion with him about everything. It is not a five-star-hotel, it is a lovely homestay with a super owner. Very good value for money. Near the rock and golden temple, walking distance to the supermarket. We needn’t restaurant because of our excellent privat chef, Serath.
Fairly basic but good comfortable room. The owner was super helpful and considerate, cooked an excellent dinner and breakfast.
Nice place and nice host. He's a really good cook.
Sarath was an amazing host. The food he cooked us was absolutely fantastic. The room was good, the bed was comfy and it is walking distance to the Golden temple and the cave temple. We had a really pleasant stay here. Sarath even gave my wife a garnet which she will make into a necklace. What a lovely man.
We couldn't fault anything to be honest.
Avarage guest house but with very, very kind owner who is willing to help you with everything. Nothing is too much for him. He is the star of his guest house.
The host was very friendly and cooked great food for breakfast. We weren’t able to try the dinner but it looked spectacular. Air conditioning works well
The bathroom was quite dirty with a ton of cockroaches/ants
The manager was amazing! He cooked us a great dinner both nights and an excellent breakfast!
Welcoming place, a few steps from the main attractions of Dambulla. Very friendly and welcoming host, he gave us some excellent advice and organized a tour of things to see nearby. I higly reccomend! :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa! The location is perfect as it is walking distance to the cave temples and even shorter on the way back. Also Sigiriya is only a 25- minute tuck tuck ride away! The rooms are clean and spacious and the house has a lot of character. However, the best is the host! He went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He was on his motorbike quicker than we could vent our wishes and prepared the most amazing dinner and breakfast for us himself. The food was excellent!! As a big group we had the place to ourselves and loved to sit with our host and chat. He also organised excellent transport service for us the next morning. We can strongly recommend this place!!
One night was too short ;-)

Side cupboard in the bedroom both side of the bed not a good condition.
Our stay was just amazing! Everyone was super helpful. The owner came to pick us up from the bus station. The place is very neat, the room has AC. The terrace has an incredible atmosphere. The owners made local breakfast, and you can order dinner for an extra few euros, but don't miss it! He cooks very well 😄 There is a tuk-tuk driver who can take you everywhere for a reasonable price! Everything was super nice and comfortable! Highly recommend!!
I didn't like that we had to move on!😄 I really wanted to stay for one more night just to talk and chill in that place!
Heritage rangiri villa is amazing and nice place to stay night ..host are extremely friendly and quick response guy..he always help and treat you like a friend . restaurant area is amazing and hospitality is perfect ..we walked to cave temple within few minutes ..breakfast is superb and very delicious ..room is very clean and good smelled ..we recommend it for all visitor to stay
Nothing
Sarath is a great host, very helpful, funny. The rooms are neat, very clean and modern. Food was awesome. Very peaceful setting.
I had chosen this hotel to stay away from the chaotic traffic of Dambulla and in fact I found a real pearl of peace and wisdom. The structure is modern and well furnished internally. The room is large with very comfortable beds and mattresses. The bathroom is equipped with every local comfort, including a good Wi-Fi and there are many electric sockets, good air conditioning and blade fan that are almost silent. The manager is a kind, affable and caring person who organized 2 days of unforgettable excursions by taking us from the Avukana Buddha to Pidurangala, Sigiriya rock and Polonnaruwa ancient complex. He also edited breakfast and dinner in detail delighting us not only with his local dishes but also of a warm company and his precious indications. The location of this hotel, despite the rural appearances, is strategic for those who want to visit the famous temple in the Dambulla's Cave Rock Temple and the surrounding area on foot in a few minutes. But it is also for those who want to make close encounters with elephants and other animals that feed themselves along these roads, without resorting to a safari... to take exceptional photos. In short, to start knowing the culture of Sri Lanka we could not find better! This place is already an experience in itself, highly recommended, and we wish all the best for him.
For the type of short-term holiday in this country we were forced to stay too little time here in Heritage Rangiri Villa
Breakfast was excellent and the location was easy
The hot water was not working Good service need improvements
It is closed to cave template. The owner is nice and make good dinner for guest.
Electricity is not stable at the night.
Nice room with comfortable bed and clean bathroom Close to the golden Buddha/dambulla cave temple Delicious breakfast Lovely owner and kind staff, very nice and helpful
Staff was so lovely made us feel very welcomed very happy to help, food was so amazing and beds very comfortable and clean was a great stay would definitely recommend 😁
Amazing hospitality and customer focus. Authentic breakfasts, you can order dinner. Sights within walking distance. And all this for a fairly modest price. 100% I recommend staying here.
It was a little noisy after 7.30, if you want to sleep longer, ask for a room not near the dining area.
Very friendly host, he made us Breafast the next morning which was delicious!
Good value for money. Super nice owner.
Perfect stay! I wanted to stay 1 night, ended up extending :) the very friendly owner had a lot of suggestions about sights to visit, organised a safari within minutes of arrival - I saw lots of elephants. Visited Sigiriya and Pidurangala, the caves. His neighbour is a tuk tuk driver, took me everywhere. It was all very comfortable and easy. Travelling solo I felt very well taken care of - can totally recommend!
All good
Great place to stay, clean and comfortable. The staff are the nicest people and helpful with any information. The dinner rice and curry was delicious, best we had in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was also very good. Warmly recommend this place to everybody.
Host and staff ready to help, but not too "pesky". Good location, clean room and sheets. Clean and big kitchen. Lovely terrace. Tasty food and big portions.
Air conditioning was good. Host very informative about history and trips to tourist destinations. Breakfast was lovely and huge. Closeness to golden Buddha
Not aware that Sigiryi tourist village was 16 km away.
Room and bathroom very clean. Very comfortable bed. Very good Local breakfast. Owner and Staff very kind and helpful. Only 10 minutes walk to the Cave Temple Dambulla and the Royal Golden Temple. Bus Stop at only 5 minutes walk.
The owner was very polite. He picked us up to go to the hotel for free. He has gems to sell and everything in rules. Interested to know about it.
Fine hotel near the famous caves. The host is a treasure and his cooking is superb.

What I really appreciated was Serath's kindness and willingness to do his best to make our stay great! He gave us lots of information about the area and organized a beautiful NP safari within minutes of our arrival and joined us in helping us find as many animals as possible! The breakfast was very tasty. I really suggest to come here
It is super close to the tempel
The place is not anymore like the pictures, that is past glory, the treehouse even felt a bit unsafe because the floor was rotting. We chose this place because it seemed that they have amazing food, going from their pictures, but there was no diner and the breakfast was really disappointing.
Nice and friendly host, good breakfast
Excellent
All good
Our stay here was fantastic. The owner was exceptionally pleasant and helpful, arranging a complimentary pickup from the bus station to the accommodation. The beds were very comfortable, and the entire environment was impressively clean. They also prepared excellent, Sri Lankan-style breakfasts. It completely exceeded all our expectations for the price. Additionally, it's in a great location, within walking distance to the cave temple.
Staff so friendly. Room amazing with AC. Good value for money
Ants in the room. Bed edges and corners are dirty and must be cleaned.
Nice hospitality and delicious foods. Convenient place to rest and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple.
Sarath is a very kind, passionate and helpful host (and an excellent cook!), he even arranged a birthday cake short term and we had the best curry for dinner in Sri Lanka so far (after 10 days we already have a good comparability). He organized a driver for our visit in Sigiriya at a reasonable price and when we left he made sure we catch the right bus to our next destination. ❤️ The location is very close to the cave temples (walking distance) Rooms are air conditioned so the high temperatures didn't affect us during the night.
I can't remember anything. If something didn't work, Sarath fixed it immediately.
The friendliness of the owner
Nothing
owner was very helpful and cares about his clients, arranged a TukTuk for 200 from Dambulla Town, helped me to carry my bags to the bus station (which is a 3 min walk), he stored and warmed my outside food even though he has a restaurant in the property, cave entrance is in walking distance (20 min), good breakfast
there is nothing to complain about!
Saraht, the host is Kindly and friendly Always ready to help Nice breakfast
The owner is very welcoming and nice! He picked us up at the bus station and helped us in everything during our stay. He also prepares a delicious dinner and breakfast. The place is perfect to visit the Golden temple and the Dambulla caves, you can easily walk there.
Nothing
Peaceful, close to the Cave Temple. Tasty evening meal. Helpful owner.
Great location and great food, and waking distance to the Cave Temple.
The host/owner was very nice and helpful (we were picked up for free at the bus station), and he recommended a lot of things and tried to help wherever he could. He cooked breakfast and dinner himself. The rooms were very clean and modern.
Hotel is very close to Dambulla temple and place is very quiet. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are quite clean.
Nothing at all.
Fabulous place . close to rock temple rangiri dambulla. about 250m. very clean comfortable luxury room. very friendly staff . sarath explain and organize tour around sigiriya, polonnaruwa and anuradhapura. tasty sri lankan meal . traditional .highly recommended .
