Lance went out of his way to help me with my travel arrangements, even walked me to the bus station and called to arrange a pickup for me. Srey Midge took very good care of my connection, I am very glad to have chosen The Hideout!

The food available at the Hideout is the real standout. Lance serves excellent Khmer and Western food. His staff are excellent. The accommodation is basic but a great deal for the price. The internet is both stable and fast.

Everything went very good during our stay. Our experience though is not about the room we had booked because the guests just before us had broken down the door. We were very glad that the owner found a way to host us still. He gave us an apartment which was much bigger than what we need. The bedroom was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The scooty rental was available and easy to arrange.

L’emplacement est un vrai point positif : proche de la rivière, avec un supermarché et plusieurs restaurants juste à côté, ce qui est très pratique au quotidien.

Le séjour a été désagréable. La chambre est sombre, avec une seule fenêtre donnant sur une cour avec un vis-à-vis direct sur un autre bâtiment, ce qui limite fortement la lumière et l’intimité. À mon arrivée, la chambre était remplie de moustiques : j’en ai tué une dizaine entre le soir et le lendemain matin. J’ai également vu un gecko dans la salle de bain à mon arrivée mais je ne l’ai plus revu et entendu du séjour, puis il y en avait un à l’extérieur de la salle de bain visible à travers la grille. La salle de bain est problématique : de l’eau coule en continu, derrière la porte, ce qui crée une humidité permanente. Cela entraîne la présence de moisissures, notamment derrière le miroir, et de cafards, ce qui rend l’ensemble peu hygiénique et franchement désagréable. Comme dans de nombreux établissements en Asie, il n’y a pas de rideau de douche. Toutefois, il existe un espace légèrement surélevé dédié à la douche, ce qui empêche la propagation de l’eau dans le reste de la salle de bain. De plus, des travaux commençaient à 7h du matin lors de mon séjour donc il ne fallait pas avoir l’intention de dormir au delà de cette heure-ci.

We stayed here 3 nights and had a nice time. The rooms are behind a restaurant which makes it very quiet and calm at night. The host is very nice and helpful, always ready to give good advice. The rooms are very big and comfortable with both AC and a fan, good for the crazy heat in Kampot. We were also able to park our bike here with no problem. The location is nice because it's very close to restaurants and places of interest, including the promenade. We highly recommend staying here!

A secluded oasis in the middle of town. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and wifi is excellent. The restaurant and bar is conveniently located on the street front.The food is fresh & delicious. I enjoy staying at The Hideout. Definitely value for money ,a friendly welcoming place for a solo traveler.

The location is excellent, quiet but right next to Salt Carrier roundabout, many restaurants and markets a few steps away. You have a studio, with a fridge, kettle. The bed is very comfortable, room has ac and fan. The restaurant out front has good food and drink at very good prices.

I've stayed at The Hideout before, but not in the rainy season. This stay it got very damp in the patio and the bathroom got wet.

Very nice place, the room looks like a real studio with everything you need inside, fridge, hot water, comfortable king size bed, AC and fan... The place is very clean and the owner very friendly and helpful. You also have a terrace with table and chair with a lot of tropical plant. I would definitely come back here next time.

The property was in a great location with all the amenities we like: good A/C, hot shower, close to everything and quiet. Lance and the team were very welcoming and kind. Well for sure return!

The staff is very good and helpful, the quality price ratio is very good. A/C working well, big bed and spacious room with much place for your things. You can rent a scooter from them. Close to the supermarket and a short walk from restaurants

Nothing to complain. When we were there, there were some renovations, so the way to the room was a bit dusty, but it wasn't big issue

The apartment was very spacious with a private bathroom.

The air conditioning unit was very noisy, but there was a fan on the wall that was more than enough to sleep.

Paul the manager was amazing. When we booked we requested a room with a window, which wasn’t available our first night but he set up a room switch for us the day after our check-in (the room we were in originally was much bigger but only had windows on the screen door). Anytime we needed anything, Paul was super quick to respond to our messages, and when we visited him at the Birds Nest (sister location), he gave us tons of information on places we should visit around Kampot and Kep. The property isn’t brand new, but the location, price and cleanliness are worth it

Spacious and clean. Good location. Good AC and shower. The cleaning lady that came by every day was really sweet and offered to take laundry. Helpful owners who speak good English. They run the restaurant Bird’s Nest (about a 5 minute walk from the residence), and it has delicious food (I especially loved the pizza, and I’m picky). The birds nest is where you checkin, and they give you a ride to your apartment.

The apartment we ended up on had no windows, only on the door. The place definitely could use some new paint in the room, but it’s just fine for the price. Also, our apartment was the only one without chairs and a table in front. There was plenty of other seating in the terrace though.
