Reviewed Jul 22, 2026De accomodatie is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. De locatie is ontzettend mooi en op korte afstand zijn een paar pub/restaurantjes en een winkeltje voor lekkere koffie en wat boodschapjes. De eigenaar is supervriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026We had a wonderful stay at Hildesheim Guest Lodge! The owners were very welcoming and provided great local advice. The setting is very peaceful and a quick drive to many destinations. The kitchen was fully stocked, the grounds were perfect, and the beds very comfortable. We also appreciated the two space heaters and thick blankets since we visited in the winter. We highly recommend Hildesheim Guest Lodge!

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026A comfy and snug environment, tucked away in the forrest. We were lucky enough to even hear the river after the heavy rains. The view is spectacular to point it looks straight off a painting. The host was kind and inviting, making us feel right at home despite the fact we were late. Steve and his people do exceptional work maintaining and cleaning the premises and creating a sense of belonging and tranquility in his lodgings.
Freezing cold in winter, but it is completely understandable considering we went during rainy season, and to add onto that it has been freakish weather. The blankets feel small for the bed, but it could be because we were to big people in it.

Toilet seat needs attention and toiltet squeezed into very small space. Toilet window brackets need attention. Water stains on ceiling. This is actually just feedback on maintenance issues that needs attention.

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Spacious room, peaceful terrace. Very hospitable staff — they offer advice and explain everything. The surrounding nature is stunning. Unlike Wilderness, there's no fog here. We enjoyed the mountain views, and it was very quiet. The area has a couple of shops and cafes with all the essentials.
We left for the whole day, and by evening the room had become very stuffy. There was no air conditioning in the room, and the fans that were there weren't up to the task.

Steve und seine Frau sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die keinen Wunsch offen lassen. Hätten wir mehr Zeit mitgebracht wären wir gern länger geblieben!

Reviewed Dec 9, 2025Every bit of it. Hosts were great. Went out their way to accommodate as much as possible. Rooms were spacious, quiet and beds we're extremely comfortable. Great value for money, safe and parking was guaranteed, wifi was super strong at times, something you domt get very often. Ever to pop in for a few nights in Wilderness, this is the place to be!
Had to shower in lukewarm water but Steve fixed it. What a great man he is.

Reviewed Jan 8, 2024The location and views are beautiful, and the owners dealt with us directly and were very friendly and quite helpful with sight seeing and activities. They were more than willing to assist us to help book various activities during the busy season. The lodge is quite a drive from town which we did not expect but found it was a great getaway destination.
There was no provided braai facilities but you can rent with the owners at additional charge.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2023The home was comfortable and of a good size. Beds were very comfortable and warm. We loved the garden and enjoying meals around the kitchen table. Our cleaned house was such a surprise when we returned from our first day out. The Kitkat choccies and water on the beds was so sweet! Wifi accessibility was fantastic to have and we enjoyed the hospitality from our hosts. Just wish we could stay longer!!
We would have liked to see more of the mountains from the deck area- the garden is lovely, but perhaps the trees can do with a trim
