Reviewed Jul 25, 2026I had a lovely stay at Abhaile Air, located not far from Killarney the rural setting was peaceful and felt safe as a solo traveller. The room was a good size and had excellent facilities including a large wardrobe/storage room where you could put luggage, a private bathroom and a couch and small desk. The fridge was great to have too and the hosts kindly provided milk and yogurt. I would stay again, thank you very much.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026The room was nicely appointed, looking out into the garden. Helen, the proprietress, was lovely and generous. She presented us with some bakery products and water, as well as coffee and a generous amount of milk. It was a truly enjoyable stay! Highly recommended!

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025Perfect stay and good value for money. The room is big, with a renovated bathroom and a very handy walk-in closet. We used it to store away our clothes during our stay and it was great not to have our luggage in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities, as well as access to a small fridge were provided. The bed is extremely comfortable, perfect for a good night sleep after hiking in Killarney. Helen and Terence were great hosts.

Reviewed Apr 22, 2025The house where we stayed was located in a very beautiful place, no noise at all. The bed was comfortable and the room was dark enough for sleeping. We had enough stuff in the bathroom for a couple of showers and the fridge had some stuff we could use for breakfast. We could also park our car right by the door.
The bathroom could be a little cleaner. The house is located in a nice place but it is a bit far from Killarney, and you'll have to drive in very narrow roads.

My only gripe is that the bathroom is very small. I banged myself on about everything in there and filling a water bottle from the sink was only possible through multiple glasses of water.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2024Beautiful front garden with a view from our window of the garden and the mountains beyond. The en-suite was very attractive and comfortable with everything we needed including walk in closet, kettle with tea and coffee makings, small refrigerator with milk, water and a couple yogurts, couch at end of bed with view of tv and small vanity table with mirror. The host Helen McSweeney was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely book there again!

Courtesy fridge with milk and cookies, Tea coffee of course, with sugar in a sugar bowl, Coffee in a jar, not pathetic sachets of either, Comfy sofa and widescreen tv, Best sleep I ever had, The plushness of a 5 star hotel with the warmth of home combined, Private entrance, Peacefull. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Best value in Co Kerry, Have booked already for my second stay,Loved the adjoining dressing room with complimentary Iron, Hairdryer and laundry basket, Excellent WIFI, complimentary,Helen is an exceptional hostess.
