The location was perfect

Unfortunately, our stay didn’t live up to expectations. The room wasn’t very clean and felt dark, dingy and quite run-down definitely not what we expected from a 4-star property. The bed was also on wheels and moved around, which was uncomfortable. We were without electricity for an entire day and also had no hot water for showers, which was really disappointing. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that after we checked out, we received a message asking us for a tip, followed by a phone call. This felt inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. Overall, the property did not feel like a 4-star standard and unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again.

Locatie. Direct aan het strand en niet het drukste deel van Weligama, maar niet ernaast en was perfect. Een joekel van een zwembad in mooie tuin, en aan het eind de poort direct naar het strand en de zee. Er zijn maar 3 kamers met groot terras, en het personeel en de manager sloven zich enorm voor je uit.

De wifi was buitengewoon slecht in de kamer.

The property isn’t maintained very well, needs some work here and there to host guests in a manner they deserve.

The location was excellent and breakfast was good ,we had to wait 45 minutes for the chef to arrive. We were the only people staying there .

It was advertised as a four star hotel on your website and it was barely a three star . We were really dissapointed in the hotel and took lots of photos . Very tired old hotel .The bannister on our balcony was falling down and heavily eroded , pillows were mouldy ,no mattress protector on a very tired mattress, patchy paint on walls ,a pipe in the bathroom held together by sticky tape ,mould in the bathroom on the walls ,no hot water , animal excretment under the hand basin . We paid $134.41 AUD per night under your recommendation .Only $65 short of what we paid at Le Grand Galle which we could not fault!! The pool was murky . We booked quite a few hotels through booking.com this one failed miserably . I would like someone to contact me from booking.com and I can send some photos . Not hotel's fault, but often tricky getting pickme or Uber rides from the hotel. Quite aggressive and persistent tuk tuk "operators" outside on street

Preisleistung könnte besser sein, aber denke wegen dem Spot sind die Preise etwas teurer. Die Zimmern müssten renoviert werden

-saubere Bettlaken und Bezüge -sehr gutes und ausgiebiges Frühstück -Tolle Lage

-Schimmel im Bad -Ameisen/Käfer/ Mücken im Bad aufgrund der fehlenden Abzugshaube und der mit Fliegengittern versehenen offenen Fenster -dreckiges Zimmer (es wurde "Besenrein" gesäubert -Tiere, vermutlich Ratten zwischen Dach und Decke die dort umherlaufen -extrem teuer für die Leistungen die man bekommt -statt Türstoppern liegen in Folie gewickelte Ziegelsteine auf dem Boden -kein Zimmerservice außer man fragt explizit danach

Ideal location, with direct path to the beach. Just a few steps away from beach clubs and surf schools. Breakfasts were delicious.

Showers had nearly no pressure and the door was quite hard to open but nothing that prevnted us from enjoying our stay :)

Perfectly located, courteous staff, amazing breakfast - both English and Srilankan version. The Ala carte restaurant options were over-priced, the most I spent during my trip, and that I thought did not sit well. While the place as such is neatly put together (practical - not flamboyant), the towels given were very aged, and that was an instant turn off. The toiletries too weren't usable. Attention to these aspects should help them elevate the experience even higher.

The towels - originally provided and the set provided after we raised the concern were worn out/aged. The toiletries were definitely cheap and isnt something I'd use.

Nice beachfront property, but a little dated, could do with some maintenance. Friendly service. Great pool.

We LOVED the direct access to the beach. We really liked the kind, gentle and obliging smiley service from Chamaa and his colleagues (not a lot of English but very sweet and willing, got everything we needed with the help of Google translate. I think during high season the manager who speaks excellent English would normally be there). Plentiful Lion beers on demand, and many thoughtful gestures such as spontaneously putting a new lightbulb in the lamp over our table when we were sitting in a gloomy spot, bringing me a clothes horse when they saw I was trying to find a place to dry a wet towel, and providing me with more tea unasked when they noticed our pot had run low. Huge rooms, excellent aircon, lovely view from our terrace, big pool with silky water and surrounded by lush green lawns with the white beach and best waves for both beginner surfing and wave jumping fun mere seconds beyond. We had the hotel to ourselves as it was low season (which was a bit odd at first) so they took our breakfast order the night before and provided everything according to our exact taste which was SO nice and made us feel really special. We loved the fresh fruit, poached eggs, fluffy white bread, absolutely divine chicken curry, dal and coconut sambal. I loved the chill vibe compared to some of the busier, more bangin’, Westernised resorts next door and appreciated the central spot in the middle of the arc of the bay. Excellent wave action. We had a 2-hour surfing lesson from Moody Moon immediately adjacent — just walked up to them and asked, lesson started straight away — which was brilliant and I think reasonably priced at 5,000 LKR pp (about £12.50). They also do full day surf board hire for the same price or half day for 3,000 LKR. It was only when we walked west up the bay that I realised how lucky we were to have such a peaceful spot — further west there’s masses of surf school competition and loads of westerners like little sea dodgems crowding the beach/surf.

The pool was a little bit neglected. There was a lovely pool guy who came each morning to clean it but it remained ever so slightly soupy — visibility underwater was pretty much nil — and not sure why that was. We saw them testing it for hygiene and safety every morning however and we very much enjoyed our swims in it; it was warm and soft and very pleasant. But I wonder if it could do with a deep clean. The actual pool basin structure (the edge of the pool surrounds) seemed tired too and could maybe do with a facelift. Likewise the balcony balustrades which were chipped & crumbling (but sturdy). Lighting could be improved both in the rooms (just a brighter higher wattage bulb would do) and in the outside communal area. It’s also complete invisible from the street after dark so I’d recommend putting in a lamp light to light up the signage and turn off point from the road.

Great location on the beach. The staff were so helpful and friendly, they really helped us out when our airport transfer let us down. The Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. Really nice people

Room a little tried

The property is well located , with a lovely view. It has a lovely authentic simplicity to the overall feel , without frills and fancies but everything that a person needs

Everything! Great service. The bungalow is amazing - made us feel like we were in our own house. The pool is huge and very clean. The staff were all incredible. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved it here. It's right on the beach, and has a really nice pool. Quiet, as there's only 3 flats and 2 villas, which was totally fine with us. Tuk tuks readily available outside, but we highly recommend a walk into town via the beach at the bottom of the garden. Lovely balcony with the best view ever. And basic, large clean, air con rooms. Highly recommended. Thanks all.

It was all great. If i was being picky, i would say perhaps our bathroom was a bit tired, but we weren't there to stay in the room. Shower was a bit of a dribble but worked, so no negatives really.

The breakfast was really lovely and the option of a Sri Lankan breakfast was really delicious. The staff were amazingly helpful and very friendly. The location was fabulous - right on the beach front and close to restaurants and shops. We stayed in a family room but got chance to have a look around one of the 2 bungalows and they were really lovely.

I think overall the property could do with a bit of refresh, broken floor tiles at the pool shower and the beds and umbrellas around were a bit worn as were the couple of beds on the beach. The balconies were in a bit of a state of disrepair and the shower in the room wasn’t very good. It’s all such a shame because these would be quite easy things to fix and would make the overall experience so much better. I think the welcome could also be easily improved by providing a welcome drink and a cold facecloth…just very simple things that we experienced at other accommodation that makes a big difference. The room could also have done with a refresh.

It's a small boutiqe size hotel you don't see any other guests , grounds are impeccably maintained, very quiet and relaxing you can hear constant music from other hotels this hotel is close enough to the action, surf hire places and restaurants and bars (they didn't have a liquor licence when we stayed may in the future) really friendly staff huge room and extremely comfortable bed. Very happy with our stay here.

Bed bugs. The manager didn't even bother. He ignored our characteristic skin lesions. He looked for the bugs on the mattress for maybe 2 min and told us that he worked in hotels for many years and he didnt see the bugs. He gave us no refund for last night (we left at 3 pm), because of course we wanted to run from this place. Everything is old and not upgraded. No everyday cleaning. No hot water. Dirty water in the pool (you could not see the bottom).

Location. Large swimming pool. Only 5 room. Amazing staff

The location of the premise is good, easy to get to Weligamas streets and Mirissa’s beaches. Clean room in the begging, but then-nobody cleans unless probably you ask for it, we were asked in our last day should they clean or not. Very green, quite and kitchen is working till late

Bad breakfasts, majority of staff do not speak English (except of the guy who met us Robert-he was really nice and supportive), plus once returning home we saw the staff member exiting our room-he was not cleaning, the trash bin was the same full-so what he was doing there remains unclear. For this episode, i give to the hotel 6 a bit better then average score.

Ronald was a fantastic host... even shared his breakfast with us. (A good coconut sambol is to die for) WiFi was very strong even at the pool. Can't wait until the last finishing touches are done to push this to a 10.
