The Fishmongers Tavern

Reasonably priced. We weren't expecting breakfast but it was available. Nice to have fresh fruit on offer; no hot food. Good coffee. Our room was large with a good sized bathroom. Friendly staff. We had good pub meals there on two nights. Right by the Coastal Hopper bus stop and we used the service to go up the coast to Blakeney to see our friends. Close enough to Sheringham to walk to for restaurants etc. Sheringham Museum is a great place to spend time visiting.

We walked from the station, with luggage the walk was a bit further than expected. We found the bathroom shower temperature tricky to regulate. Our room wasn't made up for 2 days of our stay. No one person seemed to be in charge of the property.

Construction going on which made the room difficult to talk in . The fire alarm went off and no one close that responded to waited outside in the rain for nearly 45 minutes before anyone turned up

Noise from downstairs we were I room 1 and the music was very load first thing in the morning. The shower was very difficult to get the temperature right either very hot or cold and also the bread had mould on it!!!

Room wasn't ready for a twin as requested. It was then changed to a twin but with doubled duvets because they had no singles, so very hot. Sink in bathroom was cracked ( needs changing ).

Stayed here for a golf trip and had all 4 rooms booked. They were super helpful recommending things to do and places to eat and drink in Sheringham/Cromer. Rooms are spacious and the breakfast had a decent selection of everything you'd want.

Food was amazing, the fish pie was delicious. The fan in the room was very quiet. The two young girls were very nice and friendly.

Window didn’t close and the traffic was loud due to this issue.

Evening meal on Saturday was excellent, with good service despite being full to capacity - obviously got a good reputation. But no evening meals on Sunday. Room was OK, and a handy, shared, 'fridge for guests on the landing. Convenient parking out front.

Good location and easy walk to town. Good sized room (4) which had everything we needed . Warm welcome from staff, and plenty of space at the back to sit out.

Continental breakfast could be improved with natural yoghurt, berries and some sort of heating unit for croissants. Was a bit limited.

This is a lovely place to stay with clean and well proportioned rooms, a very comfy bed and a decent shower. Staff here are very friendly and responsive. Although it's on the main road into Sheringham, it's very quiet at night and we slept really well. It's a great location, a short walk in to town and right by a coastal bus stop - really convenient for exploring the coast. We ate in the first evening and were impressed at the quality.

The crack in the bathroom basin was a bit off-putting though it didn't affect its utility. The breakfast was okay, and the rolls were excellent but we would have liked some berries and muesli. But it's included in the price and perfectly fine for filling the hunger gap.

I stayed 2 nights, and I found the staff friendly especially Dave, Maize and Em on my first evening. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a modern bathroom with shower, fan in bedroom, TV had plenty of channels, drinks tray and biscuits, continental breakfast was a nice surprise, hairdryer. The food there is good, I had burger and chips one lunchtime. The fish pie looked tasty, saw a couple having that. Tge walk to station,shops, seafront or supermarket is easy. I parked my car there as well. Shall be returning bet it's cosy in the winter.

VW camper van with For Sale sign on, taking a prime space at accommodation thought it was a sales area for secondhand cars, vans when i pulled up. Front road busy, but barely any traffic over night

The breakfast was very basic. But given that there were only 4 rooms, its understandable.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The cleaner was lovely and came around every day to replenish and to sort beds out. Breakfast wasn't advertised but a continental breakfast was provided daily, so that was a nice surprise.

I noticed that the windows seemed to have been home to a daddy long legs for some time, as there were cobwebs that didnt seem to have been dusted for a while. When we went down for breakfast on the first / second day, we noticed that the white sliced bread was growing green mould and smelt bad - which wasn't amazing. Some days, the flask of hot water hadn't been available for tea and I wasn't able to find a staff member to tell. Otherwise, it was a fairly pleasant offering with cereals individually boxed for freshness and fresh fruits sliced by the chef daily. The hotel was a little further from the centre of Sheringham than we would have liked, though to be fair, this was more an error on my part as this was clear before booking (I just hadn't factored in walking at a 4 year oldest pace of my youngest daughter). Thank you for a pleasant stay.

We had a great sized room with large bed, sofa and 2 chairs. Plenty of room. We didn’t realise the price included a continental breakfast so that was a nice surprise too. The room had everything we needed and the staff at check in and check out were really helpful.

On a busy road noisy late night and early morning

Pub was good, staff were excellent and very accommodating, the only issue we had was the bed left a little to be desired, although we slept ok. The rooms were very clean and adequately furnished/decorated. We had Sunday lunch and it was very good. We had booked without food however they supplied a complimentary continental breakfast which we were grateful and it was perfectly adequate. All in all we were very happy with the accommodation for the money.

Large airy room, clean and modern. Excellent en suite. We parked up and didn't need to move the car for the rest of our stay. Convenient for shops, beach and bus/train connections to other places. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The one evening meal we had there was good. We were given an un-serviced continental breakfast each day which we hadn't expected. Bonus!

The room was not serviced (we were there for four nights) and whilst we didn't need much doing we did need clean cups for the tea/coffee making facilities. I took the used ones to swap at the bar on the third day. Only other thing was that the plate of melon which was left for guests to help themselves to at breakfast was uncovered and there were a couple of flies about - a lid or cling film would be better!

Excellent Spacious bedroom, comfortable bed & bathroom en suite.

Felt like a work in progress, downstairs dark & gloomy, lots of black, & a typical uninspiring pub menu, but bedroom excellent.

We had one night but eanted more when we realised they had a Rockerbilly / rock n roll evrnt on all wk.end . Unfortunstley they had no rooms available. We found another B&B so we could attend the Fishmongers Tavern .

No problem with late check in

We were initially very happy with the room, stayed in the largest room which was great as it had comfy chairs and a small table which was great for watching TV, there was also a sofa so could really relax. Included was a continental breakfast which was great. Restaurant was popular and food was good

It was a great shame and we would have rated the accommodation as excellent were it not for a couple of issues (one of which could be classed as dangerous) The shower :- It was impossible to set the temperature to a suitable level (either cold or SCALDING hot), Informed the staff and someone (The Boss?) who happened to be on the premises attended within 10 minutes, Had a play around with the Temp control and sort of got it working with a promise to double check it the following day (Mon), Left a note stating that it was still going from cold to scalding with 1mm (yes 1mm) of movement on the control knob, (safety button NOT working) So obviously a faulty Shower Bar (In fact at breakfast 2 other rooms were having the same issue. NOT IMPRESSED My wife was scared to use the shower so to all intents and purpose a room without a shower. Second issue was a loud intermittent noise which sounded like an air compressor again it was only on speaking to another guest that we found out that it was in fact his extractor fan which he said was deafening when in his bathroom. Room was quite noisy from the bar below but as it shut fairly early this was not an issue for us but others may disagree.

Good value for what we paid, lovely big room and clean.comfy bed the girl in the bar when we arrived was very nice even though our room wasn't ready.

They had music blasting out after 11 pm and you could hear it really loud in our bedroom and it kept us awake .My husband did go to complain then it happened again the next night after telling them .Then at 8am in the morning it was loud again .so we definitely would not stop there again .

Supposed to be continental but it was poor. I don’t mind a continental breakfast but this was hardly it.

Hardly anything on the table. Never saw any staff, only cleaning lady. Never had anyone change towels, turn down beds, so when we left after a week the rubbish bin was overflowing

Amazingly spacious and comfortable room with two Chesterfield style arm chairs around a fire place. All the usual amenities plus plenty of decaf coffee. Access to a fridge outside the room. On site restaurant so reasonably good pub meals albeit a little expensive but apparently normal for this area. The hotel provides a free self service Continental breakfast which is a bonus.

Ideally located for me as I was walking the coast path but at least 500 metres from town centre and all the action so might not suit some people.

Large, comfortable rooms. Located above the pub, which was quiet, no noise issues, even with a toddler.

Were told several times that the kitchen closed at 8pm. After rushing to get there by 7.51pm, we were told the kitchen had closed 1 minute ago (last order was 7.50). A bit disappointing.

Great location with free onsite parking, just far enough away from the high street to be a little quieter in the evenings. Staff very helpful, nice to have the option of a small complimentary continental breakfast. Although there are plenty of cafe/shops to choose from in the local area if it’s not something you fancy.

We were in room two and unfortunately the bed wasn’t very hard and comfortable. There was also an issue that the tea and coffee making facilities are located in the bay window, directly in the sunshine making the milk turn bad.

The general ambience was OK and the room was a decent size.

The bed was not comfortable; the mattress was old and worn had squashed down from overuse that you could feel the springs. The continental breakfast was very disappointing and lacked yogurts or fruit of any kind.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean, very comfy and the bed was huge! We felt welcome and although left to our own devices, staff were easy to find and happy to help. The property is situated a short walk from the town, perfect if you want to be set slightly away from the main hustle and bustle. The food was absolutely outstanding and the service fast and efficient. We will definitely stay again.

No real complaints; if we had to offer slight moan the parking is first come first served and we did struggle the first evening, however we were parked just outside within an hour of arriving. So other than the bother of moving the car, it was fine. Would love to see updated coffee facilities in the room but that’s just personal preference.
