It was absolutely beautiful, we are a family of 5, there was plenty space and the accommodation was so well equiped, with beautiful attention to detail. The view from the stoop was amazing, seeing elephants in the morning while having breakfast. Our host was so welcoming and informative in things to do locally. There is so much to do as a family, the visit to the elephants, monkey land and the wolf sanctuary were real highlights of our trip. We couldn't have had a better experience and can't recommend the accommodation and area highly enough.would love to have stayed longer.

Elephant View Homestead is set on a working farm that overlooks an Elephant park. The comfortable accommodation and friendly host and staff made a perfect setting for the daily parade of elephants in the field across.

There was nothing that we did not like.

Lovely farm-type experience, great for small children. Lovely daily views of the elephants at the Elephant Park. The host's attention to detail is unmatched.

The unit is part of a duplex so there is some noise from movement above, but not too bothersome. Being in nature, keeping the bugs out is a bit of a challenge.

The owners were very sweet and nice! We got a lovely breakfast with nice card from them with it. The house was perfect! Everything nice and clean, enough stuff to enjoy our selfs and the location is phenomenal.

That we only stayed here 1 night, wish we were there longer ;)

This little piece of paradise was in a fantastic location overlooking the Elephant sanctuary it was kitted out with every single thing we need to make our stay comfortable… couldn’t fault anything

We had a wonderful one night stay here! The property is lovely and waking up to the elephants and zebras was such an amazing experience. The suite has everything you need and we loved the map of all of the other visitors! The fresh bread and eggs were an added bonus. Would absolutely recommend!

The WiFi was a bit weak to work from, but it was also an insane storm the night we stayed! Otherwise, this was a stellar stay.

The property was in an excellent location from the porch we could see elephants and Zebra, we had 2 lovely bedrooms with beautiful bed linen and lovely white bath sheets, the kitchen was well equipped for long or short stay, the lounge and dining area were spacious. The outside patio was equipped with dining table and chairs

Nettes Bauernhof Gefühl mit dem besonderen Ausblick auf die Elefanten

Besonders gefallen hat uns, auf der breiten Terrasse vor dem Eingang zu sitzen und den Blick über die tolle Landschaft mit Elephanten und Zebras im Vordergrund und dem weiten Gebirgszug in der Ferne schweifen zu lassen.

Eigentlich hat uns alles recht gut gefallen.

Tout était parfait ! Tout d'abord nous tenons à remercier Laura et sa famille, des hôtes extra ! la visite de la ferme était géniale, c'est un endroit magnifique où l'on peut observer les éléphants lors du petit déjeuner. Merci pour toutes les attentions apportées à notre séjour. Les Oeufs et le pain de la ferme étaient un délice ! Nous avons séjourné une nuit, c'était trop court pour visiter tout ce qu'il y a a voir. Lors de notre prochaine venue nous resterons plus longtemps !!! Encore merci pour tout ! Olivier, Christine et les enfants

The lovely animals surrounding the accomodation and the superb attention to detail of the hosts.

Pleasantly surprised. - the property is a farm so seeing animals was a major plus - the property is opposite to the elephant park so you can see elephants and zebras from the property which is unimaginable - the place is super cute and comfortable - sour dough bread and eggs were a nice added bonus I could go on.

Comforts beds, lovely farm feel , wonderful Elephant views at breakfast, fresh baked bread & farm eggs supplied, friendly hosts.

Tout était parfait : le logement, la vue, et surtout l’accueil. Les propriétaires, d'une chaleur humaine rare, ont été incroyablement attentionnés, prenant même le temps de nous faire visiter la ferme. Nos enfants ont adoré ce moment. Toujours disponibles et soucieuses de rendre notre séjour irréprochable, ils ont véritablement à cœur de faire plaisir, tout en respectant parfaitement notre intimité. On sent dans ce logement qu’ils ont mis tout leur cœur pour rendre chaque détail agréable. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les petites attentions, comme les produits frais issus de leur production. On se sent vraiment accueilli, dans un lieu à la fois chaleureux et authentique. La vue sur les éléphants est tout simplement magique, un véritable privilège. Le logement est idéalement situé, au calme, au bout d’un petit chemin, ce qui renforce encore ce sentiment de tranquillité. Et pour une fois, les photos ne mentent pas : la réalité est fidèle, voire encore plus belle. De plus, nous avons fait appel au service de blanchisserie pour laver quelques vêtements (moyennant supplément), et tout a été pris en charge avec une telle gentillesse, que tout a pu être fait le jour même. C'était parfait.

Si l’on devait vraiment chercher un point négatif, ce serait peut-être le bruit occasionnel du plancher à l’étage, où résident les propriétaires, ainsi que celui de la machine à glaçons. Rien de vraiment dérangeant toutefois — ces légers bruits n’ont en rien entaché la qualité de notre séjour.

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ländlich und ist umgeben von vielen Tieren. Wir haben eine kleine Tour bekommen und unser Sohn durfte die Küken streicheln und Hühner füttern. Von der Terrasse aus kann man Elefanten sehen. Zu Beginn gab es eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit der Gastgeber. Man wohnt zwischen Knysna und Plett und hat damit mehrere Anlaufstellen für Ausflüge.

Man sollte wissen, dass nur im Wohnzimmer eine Heizung ist und der Rest recht frisch ist und man eine Jacke benötigt. Für das Frühstück sollte man am besten auf dem Weg bereits einkaufen.

This is a great place to stay in the area of Plettenberg. The hosts are a nice and superfriendly couple and they have the most lovely and friendly dog on the farm. There is room to walk between the animals on the farm, and in the morning you can see the elephants and zebra's of the Knysna elephant sanctuary. We had a great time there. The house is fully equipped if you want to cook or stay there a couple of days. It is close to Plettenberg, so it is very easy for shopping, but there are also plenty of restaurants. There a lot of activities in the area so this is a good base to start from.

Carrie left us a delicious home made ciabatta, strawberry jam, chili sauce, farm eggs and hand made soap. A very nice surprise!

The booking site said you rent the whole house, but this was not the case. A family were staying upstairs. So just be aware of this. They were very quiet and mindful, but still. Also, we were looking forward to watching and photographing the elephant from the upstairs balcony, which we could not do.

Het uitzicht op het olifantenpark was fantastisch. Het huisje was zeer degelijk, schoon en comfortabel.

It has been a wonderful place to stay, whether for a short or long time. The house is beautiful, located in the middle of a farm and right in front of the elephants’ reserve path. Every day, when they walk by, you can see them in the distance while comfortably enjoying your breakfast. The house itself is truly charming and comfortable. Everything was new, and we found all the essentials we may need. But the best part is the owners. They are lovely people who showed us around the farm and shared their stories with us. They are fascinating, kind, and make you want to keep listening and learning more. Anyone who loves animals or plants would truly enjoy hearing them talk and witnessing their love and care for their animals. It has been a real pleasure meeting them. Thank you for your kind gestures, and especially for the handmade bread and marmalade you left for us in the house—they were absolutely delicious! We felt as comfortable as if we were with close friends.

Posto meraviglioso!! Casa con tutto l'occorrente e anche di più!! Panorama mozzafiato: elefanti e zebre in lontananza al risveglio! Pane caldo e uova della farm a disposizione. Saremmo potuti rimanere molto più a lungo se avessimo voluto trascorrere ancora qualche giorno in totale relax e tranquillità ma con tutte le attività a portata di pochi km: Knysnha, Tziztzikamma, Plettensberg, Grazie per questi giorni meravigliosi

Scolapasta per noi italiani sarebbe top. Un piccolo termosifone in camera da letto matrimoniale che è risultata un pochino fredda

Alojamiento muy recomendable, cerca de la playa y la vez, al lado de un parque natural. Detalles muy cuidados, con todo lo que se puede necesitar y propietarios verdaderamente accesibles.

It had the most amazing surprises ready for us.

Lovely cottage in a great location to explore Knysna and other places in the Garden route. We got some great farm goodies on arrival from the hosts and it felt home.

We absolutely loved our stay, I must say this is one of the best places we ever stayed in. The views are incredible, the place is clean and beautiful, and they provide you bread, milk, eggs etc all fresh from the farm! We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much!!!

Everything about Elephant View was amazing, exceptional facilities, the owner even left us homemade bread and fresh farm eggs for breakfast the next morning, there was absolutely nothing that was missing, beautiful views, sunrise incredible, could have stayed longer

Loved Waking up to the sound of the farm animals

The most beautiful location watching elephants go by from our stoop. The place is immaculate and has absolutely everything and more than you can need. A lovely warm and friendly family whose background story we loved. A magical peaceful place on a working farm. We had fresh eggs from their hens, honey from their bees and wonderful fresh baked sourdough. Carrie and and her family were amazing hosts -thank you so much

So regretful making this only an overnight stop, I would have Loved to have made this a minimum 2 night. So tranquil and peaceful. Animals in pens to see and overlooking the reserve, where we could see zebras on this stay. There was bread, eggs, milk , and more left for us to partake in. This was really appreciated considering we had just travelled up the garden route from CT. There were board games as well for some family bonding (squabbling) . Oh and there was even some Sherry to cap the night off, sitting on the veranda and enjoying the scenery.

Meeting the special people personally who make this venue so special for guests to enjoy as a piece of their heaven, was really wonderful. Thank you Carrie for putting so much of your love and personal touches into the comfort of the Homestead. That BREAD!!! OMG!!! We've stayed in many places both in and outside of South Africa over our travelling years, but THIS time, we were blown away by your love with that bread. Thank you so much. The quality of the provisions, kitchenware, appliances, bedding etc in the whole place is phenomenal. And then......, the views from the stoep, is to die for. Seeing the elephants and other animals in the adjoining sanctuary, is a special bonus. The nightly visits of that large troop of baboons, evoked a lot of interest and "nervousness ", 😏 but they were interesting to watch. Thank you Ian and Laura for the eggs and the interesting conversations. Ice , your dog, is also special in his friendly manner. Families with young children will enjoy your farm animals on site and could learn a lot from you. Thank you for everything Carrie, and keep doing what you do. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night (luckily it was available !!!) We'll be back. Best wishes for 2025

The shower inconsistency with the warm water supply. Only one bathroom for 5 people. Google maps led us into the forest area off the airports road on the other side of the N2 and we thought we got lost. We had to re-route and eventually found the entrance road. The entrance road is not clearly marked or easily visible while driving on the N2. Maybe 2 signs are needed, one big one visible from the highway and another showing to turn right off the dirt road. One night it was late and raining and we could not find the road and contemplated calling you. But we managed after several u-turns.

The view is unparalleled as you can see the elephants & zebras whilst sitting in the garden. Our host, Carrie was friendly and amazing, baking us fresh sourdough bread & providing farm eggs, milk, bananas & coffee. Superb experience and wish we could have stayed longer.
