This is a perfect place to stay. Moses and Jenny have taken care of every detail to make one's stay delightful. The extras are so thoughtful. 11 put of 10! Also go stargazing with Daniel at Mackenzie StarGaze.

The cottage was exceptionally well presented, with everything you would need for a comfy stay. It was out of town in a quiet area where you could just unwind and relax in the hot tub and enjoy the serenity of peace and nature. The hosts have thought of everything and you could feel the love and passion in every corner. We didn’t leave once we arrived, for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was included plus fruit and chocolates and yummy homemade chocolate biscuits. You also had a choice of every tea available. Well done Jenny and Moses, you are special hosts with a true passion to give a traveller a perfect retreat.

Wifi wouldn't work so difficult to use TV. It was very cold so would have been nice to have an extra heater to accompany the heatpump.

There isn’t anything we didn’t like. However if we had to say something it would be lack of a full length mirror. This is so minor and did not impact our experience at all.

Etwas außerhalb von Twizel, sehr ruhig und perfekt zum Sterne schauen. Sehr ansprechend mit Blick fürs Detail eingerichtet, alles neu, sehr gepflegt und sauber. Umfangreiches Frühstückspaket zum selber zubereiten. Der Clou ist die Edelstahl-Badewanne im Garten.

Attention to detail is really perfect here! Cottage is beautiful and contains all you need. Owners have really thought hard for the needs of the guests. Sitting in the Hot tub outside looking at the stars is simply amazing. This on was one the highlights of our honeymoon.

As explained in the description there are no real cooking facilities so get takeaway etc. Tip: Salmon farm near by sells excellent smoked salmon so making a tasty salad is easy!

Das Cottage liegt ca. 8 Autominuten ausserhalb von Twizel und man hat eine tolle Aussicht. Wir hatten Glück und Moses erlaubte uns einen früheren Check in, so konnten wir die Gegend um den Mt. Cook noch gutem Wetter erkunden. Das Frühstück und die Apero Snacks sind grosszügig ausgelegt. Die begehbare Dusche, TV, Kühlschrank etc. hat alles funktioniert. Die Badewanne im Freien ist das sogenannte i Tüpfelchen. Wir empfehlen das Cottage auf jeden Fall.

Die Zufahrtstrasse ist nicht geteert und die „lieben“ Nachbarn fahren wie die Idioten was dazu führt, dass der Strassenstaub bis ins Haus dringt, auch wenn man immer und überall die Fenster und Türen schliesst. Ein etwas grösserer Esstisch wäre toll, denn die Küche ist wirklich klein. Eine Nespresso Maschine anstelle dieser französischen zieh/drück „Maschine“ hätten wir bevorzugt.

Einfach ein Traum! Moses war immer um uns bemüht und es waren keine Wünsche offen. Alles perfekt. Top gepflegt und sauber. Danke für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt ! 6 Sterne.

Das Häuschen liegt etwas abgeschieden in einer schönen ruhigen Umgebung. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern war hervorragend. Da wir erst nach Sonnenuntergang ankamen und es keine Straßenbeleuchtung gibt, waren für uns die Nachttischlampen angeschaltet, damit wir das richtige Haus finden konnten. Das hat sehr geholfen :D Das Häuschen ist sauber und ausreichend groß, sodass wir unsere drei großen Koffer gut unterbringen konnten. Das bereitgestellte Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend, die Teeauswahl super :) Wir fanden es sehr angenehm, dass es Schuhe für Innen und Außen gab. Der kleine bunte Kiwi Schlüsselanhänger hatte mir so gut gefallen und lief mir dann tatsächlich noch in einem Souvenir Laden über den Weg, sodass er nun auch an meinem Schlüssel hängt. Eine tolle Erinnerung an einen schönen Aufenthalt :)

The wonderful location, the warmth and friendliness of the owner, Moses, who greeted us, the layout of the property and the way it allowed us to stay in complete peace, whilst enjoying the beauty of the surroundings and the stunningly dark night sky, with the hint of an aurora…

Breakfast goodies and other nibbles were very good. Location was great - basically on a private property, not far from town for supplies etc. good spot to tour Mt Cook in a day. Outside bath was great

Location was great, not that far out of town. Very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were lovely. The fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies that were personally delivered were delicious. There was not 1 detail that the hosts have left out of this accommodation. If we could give 6 stars out of 5 we would. Highly recommend this property to anyone that is looking for accommodation in Twizel. Photos attached were taken from near the hot tub in the backyard and 1 from out the front of the property.

I should like to give this apartment more than a 10 - it exceeded our expectations in every way. It was beautiful and large, with big windows on all sides (double-glazed) to see the wonderful views of snow-capped mountains. The apartment was super-clean, very modern, with very high-quality furnishings. The hosts thought of every little thing, all arranged meticulously, such as multiple teas, multiple coffee options, multiple jams etc. We were welcomed by a large hamper of eats, including chips, chocolates, cookies etc. Breakfast for 2 days was already in the kitchen and fridge. everything of high quality. It was very quiet, as it is about 8km outside of town, on the mountain side. There is an outside bath, which we unfortunately could not use due to a very strong wind. The location is great - about 45 minutes to Mount Cook. The hosts met us on our arrival, and were very friendly. A wonderful experience in all aspects!

Such a great location for a break from people and life in general. Amazing dark skies at night with aurora spotting potential. Jenny and Moses are lovely and might drop by with some extra treats; otherwise they quietly let you enjoy their little piece of NZ paradise.

Gorgeous out of town location. Well-equipped modern cabin with many creature comforts and special treats. Hosts house on site but far enough away and situated for absolute privacy. Very safe for solo traveller. Amazing night sitting in the hot tub staring at the stars.

Everything was beyond our expectations. The house is beautiful, lovely decorated, everything is well thought out to the smallest detail. The view is incredible, we really enjoyed the hot tub and the garden with all the flowers. Moses is so nice, very caring. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Moses and Jenny thought of everything that might be wanted and packaged it up in this quiet, incredibly clean and pristine setting.

We loved how peaceful the cottage felt. It was far enough away from town to feel disconnected, but close enough to be practical. Moses and Jenny have done a great job at setting up the garden to be private while being incredibly pretty!

The Kitchenette was great! However, the main tap had a bit of a splash back hazard. Great overall though.

The stay was amazing, the hosts were lovely, and overall the house, info packets and complimentary food was incredibly well thought out and caring. We absolutely would love to stay there again. The fact its in a dark sky park is great for stargazing and the cottage was incredibly cute

Wow! This was one of the most incredible vacation rentals in which we have ever stayed!! The separate cottage is absolutely beautiful with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful landscaping of trees/bushes/flowers, and in a good location to get to restaurants/activities in either Twizel or Tekapo and to go see/hike at Mt. Cook National Park. Moses and Jenny, the hosts, left a folder with info about the cottage, as well as restaurant recommendations and things to see/do in the area, including a Lord of the Rings filming sight right across the street--how cool is that? The cottage was extremely clean and they had turned on the air conditioner ahead of time. There are so many extra little details that make this an extraordinary vacation rental--bath salts for the outdoor soaking tub (awesome for observing the stars at night), bath robes, bath shoes to go to/from the soaking tub, plastic glasses to use in either the bathroom or when using the soaking tub, a continental breakfast consisting of coffee/tea/hot chocolate, toast with jam/butter, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, fresh milk and orange juice. They also left us snacks such as popcorn, chips, a ginger beer and soda and chocolate chip cookies! What a treat! The bed was super comfy and had an electric heating pad (which we did not use since it was summer), quality sheets and a wonderful quilt (made me think of my Mom quilting with my aunts). The view from the bed in the morning was amazing--especially if you get a nice sunrise. The shower is wonderful as it is large and has both a rain shower head and a regular shower head--pure luxury. The host came by to welcome us when we checked in and was available if we needed any info about the area or the cottage, but gave us plenty of privacy. We would highly recommend the Kahurangi Cottage if you are going to be in the Twizel area! You will not be disappointed! We wish that we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic self contained cottage with luxurious features. The owners left fresh fruit and snacks for us, along with an excellent range of breakfast choices! Lovely decorative touches and thoughtful amenities to make your stay pleasurable. Excellent outdoor bath to view the stars in the sky.

Jenny and Moses were the most wonderful hosts even though we hadn't met them in person. The cabin was ready for us when we arrived and we were welcomed with a little note and some complimentary food items. The surrounding area is very special and super quiet. The outside bathtub is amazing as well!

Everything!! The owner is so mindful with all details — seperate slippers for indoors and outdoors, labeled towels, welcoming snacks… The decorations are lovely! I love the wooden sliding door of the bathroom. The outdoor bath is so comfortable and romantic for star gazing.

Hosts very kindly left us an amazing selection of New Zealand goodies as well as a very good breakfast. The place was absolutely spotless and outdoor bath was fantastic. What a place to watch the stars overhead - I’ve never seen so many in my life. Will recommend to everyone I know who is planning to go to New Zealand

The gardens and the amazing view of the of the hills

All the attention to detail and quality of this place were fantastic. The small homely details, the breakfast and NZ based goodies were brilliant. The outdoor tub was a bonus and the location served as a great base to go explore the amazing surrounding area. You can tell the finish and quality of the place had some real love and thought going into it from the owners.

The hosts were so thoughtful when setting up the room, leaving an amazing breakfast and some kiwi novelty snacks for us to enjoy, they even left some bubbles for my partners birthday. It was very private and a beautiful wee stay.

Loved everything about the property

We were disappointed to arrive and find there was nowhere to cook dinner. thankfully we have brought some snack foods which we ate otherwise we would have gone hungry. i suggest you make it clear on the booking that there is no cooking facilities. i wasn't impressed!

This place is amazing. It had everything you need plus more. There were lovely little touches that just made this place one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed. The outdoor tub was wonderful and made star gazing the highlight of our trip. They even provided a guide on what stars and planets would be visible at this time of year. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The attention to details

This was the cutest and best Airbnb we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot. Super comfortable bed and accommodations , views out every window, robes, great snacks and continental breakfast, best shower of whole month long trip and super fun outdoor tub to enjoy star gazing or morning coffee. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this adorable cottage!!

This exceeded our expectations in most regards. The location was isolated, but still within easy drive of facilities. The little cottage had everything we needed with lovely touches by the hosts such as a lovely gift basket on arrival, a large selection of coffee and teas, lovely array of food for the continental breakfast, indoor and outdoor footwear, bath salts, linen and towels. Best part - the outdoor bath with a view of the dark sky reserve. What a spectacular, quiet, warm, beautiful place!

Hard to find fault. I think if I needed to pick something minor it was a lack of a hob to cook food - you had to rely either on microwave meals, or a trip into nearby Twizel for a meal. A couple of warm blankets would also be nice either for the bed, or sitting outside gazing at the amazing stars!
