Athenian Gem

Very disappointing and misleading I feel genuinely misled by both Athenian Gem and Booking.com regarding this booking. When I made the reservation, I specifically asked to be recommended a 4-star hotel. What I received was absolutely not a hotel in the conventional sense, but rather an Airbnb-style room/apartment accommodation. Most importantly, in my opinion, it is nowhere near a 4-star standard. I honestly do not understand who has given this property a 4-star classification. The furniture, equipment, facilities and overall standard of the room simply do not correspond to what I would reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel. Had I known in advance that this was essentially an Airbnb-type accommodation and not a proper 4-star hotel, I would never have booked it at this price. For these reasons, I feel not only disappointed but genuinely misled by the description and classification of the property on Booking.com. The accommodation did not meet the expectations created when I made the booking, and in my opinion it was nowhere near worth the money I paid. This was a very disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise other travellers to carefully check what they are actually booking before relying on the “4-star” classification.

Nous avons passé un bon sejour (c'etait le second, car nous étions déjà venus l'an dernier). Hôtel propre. bien équipé et pratique situé à 2 pas du métro (ligne qui va de l'aéroport au Pirée). Pas mal de petits restaurants à quelques rues. Le petit déjeuner se prend au café de l'autre côté de la rue, où nous avons.été bien accueillis. Quartier tranquille, sans attractions touristiques.

Excellent location - just around the corner from metro. It has a lift, so don't need to worry about stairs. Really nice fresh decor, spotlessly clean. Has kettle, mugs, shampoos, hairdryer, A/C. Nice breakfast in Everest cafe: fresh orange juice, iced coffee and cheese pastry. Perfect for exploring Athens and the. Easy to get to/from the airport. Would 100%recommend. Staff all were so nice - massive shout out to Leo who let me check in early and leave my luggage and gave us useful tips on where to eat and best metro stop for the Acropolis. It lives up to its name - a gem

המלון קטנטן, נקי ומסודר, החדר ממוזג, נקי, מעוצב טוב. יש בו כל מה שצריך, מיטות נוחות, כספת, מקרר, איכסון, חדר רחצה נקי ונוח, וילון החשכה, מרפסת נחמדה, מעלית וארוחת בוקר במסעדה ממול. המיקום דקה מהמטרו בקו הכחול משדה התעופה. עם כל מה שצריך מסביב, מסעדות מעולות, בית מרקחת, סופר מרקט, בתי קפה וחנות שוקולדים. הכל ממש מעבר לכביש.

האמת שממש אהבנו את המלון, הוא לא המוני, אין בו חדר כושר או בריכה וחדר אוכל, אבל זה מה שאנחנו אוהבים

Nothing bad, all is good

I was unexpectedly stranded in Athens over the weekend and needed a place to stay. The Athenial Gem showed up on my Bootking.com search, and it seemed to check all the boxes: location, amenities, quality, and price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Athenian Gem exceeded all my expectations. The room was very updated, clean, and tastefully decorated. The services were top-notch, from Wi-Fi to AC to water pressure. The complimentary breakfast, served at an affiliated restaurant across the street, was hearty and filling, and the service there was fast, friendly, and efficient. The kitchenette was very well-equipped, though I only had the use of the coffee-making gear; if I had wanted to cook, it had everything a traveller could have asked for. On the subject of service, at the hotel, the weekend manager was incredibly friendly and helpful with perfect English (I have no Greek). On Sunday, I had the opportunity to meet George, the General Manager of the property. He was the epitome of hospitality. We enjoyed a very pleasant conversation, and he was extremely solicitous as to my lodging experience. The location is ideal, close to train and bus lines, and within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and groceries. My only regret is not having found this "Gem" earlier. I would stay again the next time I am in Athens without hesitation. Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

Best part of the property is its location and the nearby Metro station making it very convenient to move around Athens city. The managing desk is exceptionally friendly and helpful to make the stay comfortable.

Amazing location few steps from metro, good value for money. Although I did not see hotel staff as I arrived late but there was very good communication from them through emails and watsapp messages.

The property was just what I needed for my last minute stay just outside of Athens. A short drive to the centre of Athens, a very convenient location. The facility was nice and clean and had good air conditioning. Lovely staff also.

Terrasse die Rezeption war nicht besetzt zum Zeitpunkt der Ankunft, aber es war ganz unkompliziert und rasch, wie ich geführt wurde, um in die Unterkunft zu gelangen.

Un peu bruyant

Molto vicino alla metro (3 fermate dalla piazza principale di Atene). Appartamento molto pulito. La colazione si fa nel bar adiacente.

La stanza davvero bella pulita e confortevole...

La posizione non é delle migliori. La stanza al primo piano affaccia su una strada trafficatissima ....rumori tutta la notte.

Πολύ καλή τοποθεσία για άτομα ειδικά που θέλουν να πάνε σε κοντινές κλινικές. Με πάρκινγκ επί πληρωμή διαθέσιμο ακριβώς δίπλα. Ο Λεωνίδας στη ρεσεψιόν πολύ φιλικός και εξυπηρετικός.

Personnel de l’accueil et de l’hôtel très gentil, souriant, prêt à aider. Hôtel très bien placé, métro à deux minutes. Petit-déjeuner super. Propreté de l’établissement super.

Η τοποθεσια είναι εξαιρετικά βολική για όπου θες να πας. Είναι κέντρο αλλά η φασαρία από την λεωφόρο Αλεξάνδρας ούτε που ακούγεται.Κοιμηθήκαμε υπέροχα. Και το πρωινό που προσφέρει το κατάλυμα στην απέναντι καφετέρια είναι αρκετά ικανοποιητικό.

Θα μπορούσε να έχει δυο φακελάκια στιγμιαίο καφέ, δυο φακελάκια τσάι και δυο συσκευασίες γάλα μέσα στο δωμάτιο. Διότι είχε κούπες, είχε κουταλάκια, είχε βραστήρα αλλά δεν υπήρχε καφές.

Τη νυχτα το φως απο την λαμπα του μπαλκονιού μπαινει ολο μεσα στο δωματιο και δεν υπαρχει κουρτίνα ή πατζούρι

Θα ήθελα να υπάρχει 24ωρη reception.

The location is right next to a metro station, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The room was clean and had air conditioning available if needed. Breakfast was served in the restaurant across from the hotel; it was good, and the lady working there was very polite. The hotel receptionist was friendly and even suggested places to eat, sights to see in the city, and a charming nearby town for a day trip.

The room we booked as an apartment was located on the first floor, right next to the street. It was extremely noisy, even with the windows closed at night. Although the description claimed the room was soundproofed, this was not the case. It also listed a kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, and ironing facilities, but none of these were provided—there was only a small fridge and a kettle. I spoke to the receptionist, who offered to move us into two separate rooms on the second floor, but since we are traveling with kids, this wasn't acceptable. He explained that the kitchen and equipment are not in every apartment, even though they were literally listed in our room description.

Frühstück ist gegenüber in einem sehr schönen Café. Allerdings gibt es nur vier Varianten, denen man auswählen kann. Für einige Tage auf jeden Fall ausreichend und lecker. Für längere Aufenthalte wird es eintönig

Betten waren etwas zu hart und die offene Dusche jedes Mal das Bad geflutet. Aber das fanden wir nicht allzu schlimm und wurde durch die schönen Zimmer und super Lage mehr als wettgemacht. Morgens ist es etwas laut, aber auch das hier nur zur Info. In einer Stadt wie Athen ist es vermutlich überall so. WLAN war leider sehr schwach. Wenn man darauf angewiesen ist, daher nicht zu empfehlen.

pas de réception permanente - chambre petite et douche minuscule et peu pratique (obligé de se contorsionner pour y accéder) - pas de petit-déjeuner sur place mais obligé de sortir dans la rue pour se rendre dans un café qui ne propose ni confiture ni pain mais des toasts trop grillés ou une omelette basique -Ce n'est pas à proprement parlé un hôtel mais un "urban stay" - cela ressemble plus à un airbnb -

Πολύ ωραία δωμάτια, μοντέρνα, προσεγμένα και καθαρά! Το metro βρίσκεται λίγα βήματα από την πόρτα και δεν έχεις κανένα πρόβλημα με την συγκοινωνία! Ο κύριος στην ρεσεψιόν εξυπηρετικός,ευγενικός! Το πρωϊνό πολύ καλό επίσης, σε ωραίο χώρο! Σίγουρα θα σας προτιμήσουμε και στο μέλλον!
