hostel comunidad Ushuaia

One of the most social Hostels I've been to. And not in a bad way. The volunteers are so great and make you feel at home right away. We cooked together, spent time together and I just loved talking to them. The bathroom was clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen could use some more plates, bowls, silverware and pans. The bus stop is right around the corner and you can be in the center in around 15 min

The breakfast is included which is nice but to be honest it's not great. At around midnight someone prepared a Tupperware box of two toasts, cake, a muffin or a sweet thing, coffee in a teabag, an apple and sometimes instead of the toast a sandwich ham and cheese. It would be really easy to provide more fruits, some oats, milk and Joghurt as well as the toast or sandwich. To have a more nutritious breakfast. But other than that it was a very nice stay

The host Joel was so helpful and nice, even though we didn't speak much Spanish he was super patient and suggested lots of things to do that best suited us. Breakfast was really nice and was ready for us every morning when we woke up in case we wanted to leave early for a day trip

The staff are absolutely wonderful and they couldn’t do enough for me. I was even given a lift to the bank to get out money, when I forgot the room had to be paid in cash. On arrival, the Uber dropped me offf at the wrong place, because the numbers do not match up with the rest of the street, so make sure you know where you’re going before you turn up. Everything else was almost perfect. I definitely recommend staying here!!

Cleanliness, owners, atmosphere, home like

Nothing

The hostel is amazing! It has a real community feel and the hosts are really kind and welcoming. They go out of the way to make sure you have a memorable stay. I stayed here for 6 nights and it’s definitely the best hostel i’ve stayed in Argentina. The location is not central, but there are frequent buses that run from the centre to the hostel. Definitely recommended!

You feel at home cozy friendly place

This is such a Nice hostel! Super friendly people (joel and Flor). They asked me straight away if i had eaten and told me all about the different hikes and interesting things! The House is very cosy and warm and the bed great.

The only thing I can comment on is the breakfast.. almost only sweet stuff such as cake, medialuna and Bread and jam. It Would be Nice to have Some cheese or a boiled egg or something. But I Would still recommend it highly!

Flor and Joel really invite you to their household. They are the most warm and helpful hosts that i’ve come across in Argentina, and did everything to help me feel at home and explore Ushuaia. The beds are comfy, the kitchen nice and everything is clean. I was even invited to barbecue with them (twice!). It made Ushuaia very enjoyable.

Nothing. Couldn’t have wished for more

Great place to stay when visiting Ushuaia! The staff is friendly, everything is very clean, and the beds are comfortable. Plus, it has a parking lot perfect for moto travelers.

Nothing everything was perfect.

Amazing hostel. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Very decent breakfast provided with good sized rooms. Would highly recommend.

Having an additional bathroom would be preferable.

The hostel is very social. The family lives on the bottom floor, and they are all super friendly and nice to talk to. You get a chance to meet people all over the world, and they are all super nice 👌

The location is a little bit far from cheap supermarkets but you can easily take a bus to the center for everything you need.

Great stay, good host

Joel and Flor are absolutely amazing hosts! They make you feel like home and Joel has an amazing knowledge about the area and offers to help with shoutle transfers etc. The hostel was super clean every day and has a very well equipped kitchen! The breakfast comes in pre-prepared containers therefore you can have it at anytime you want which is ideal if you have an early start. It also is a lot! Comfortable beds and pillows as well.

No "Hostel" sign yet. It's the big blue house but I didn't have internet when I got there and the address in Google is wrong. It is 4627 and not 4625. All the rest is literally perfect!

The host are so nice and welcoming, the hostel felt like an home, cosy and clean. The place itself a bit far from the city center but there is a bus station close by.

The host was extremely kind and helpful, the facilities were clean and useful

Joel and his wife Flora are very nice and helpfull. They helped me with the transfer for a very good price from airport to the hostel, and they gived good tips about where to go and how. The breackfast is also very good and a very nice quantity.

Is not in the center, but you can always take a bus (right there at 50 m from the hostel) or move by Uber.

Hospitable, friendly home. Flor and Joel are amazing hosts, helpful and kind

La atención de Joel y flor excepcional!!!!

Flor and Joel are very kind and make an effort to help guests where they can, very nice people. Rooms and facilities are clean and breakfast is great

Joel and his wife are both so friendly. Joel gives tips to all travelers about the treks. And every time end of the day asks to people how their hike went. So they make you feel really cared. The location of the hostel is a bit of out of the center but it’s easy to go around with Uber or public bus. The kitchen has few equipment to cook, which is not the best but still sufficient.

Decent breakfast. Peaceful location.

No lockers. Maybe should be added in the future.

Everything was perfect. Joel and Flor are the kindest hosts and very helpful. They can help with tips and information on what to do, and also book tours for a fair price. The place really feels like a home. Is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. They are not bunks, so it all feels very nice. I would definitely recommend. Just 30 meters away you can find a bakery and a parrilla. The buses stop 10m away from the house, so you can reach the center no problem and still have a more secluded feel.

Everything was perfect! I wish I could have stayed longer.

The hosts were super warm, friendly and provided a lot of great advice and suggestions about the area. The kitchen space is great, as it invites people to sit down together to eat and perfect for bonding. Location is far from the city centre but you can get a bus very easily and cheaply. Also the location is great for some hiking area like Lago Esmeralda.

First impression of the property when you arrive is the not the best. There are no signs or indication of entrance, plus garden area could be more inviting. We found their system of not having keys in any rooms a little uncomfortable and there were no safe or lockers for valuables.

The hosts are very nice. very informative. I recommand !!

Joel is amazing host. He is very heplful and he will provide you all local tips and suggestions what to do in Ushuaia. I really appreciate all Joel’s advices and his hospitality. The place was clean, calm and I felt there like at home.

The place is comfortable and I really felt at home during my stay.

The owners were very nice and happy to help with anything! It was a very nice stay.

The owners and the people staying there

Im traveling for 3 months already and this is what I want regarding home feeling! Clean, cozy and familiar ! Thanks again

- The Hosts are super nice, treat you like Family and know all about the best local spots - great Location, two minutes to the busstation and grocerystore 15 minutes to the Playa larga - Had a great time 💙

Nada, No complaints

Everything ! From the hosts to the place itself. I'll definitely be returning soon ❤️

Feel like staying with the family, and I feel like I'm part of the family. Super happy that I found this place.

Amazing place, calm, hot shower, comfortable beds, good breakfast, the owners share all their knowledge about Ushuaia, everything was perfect

I had such a great stay here!! Joel and Flor were both very warm, friendly and overall amazing hosts - always willing to lend a hand or give local insights/suggestions. They went above and beyond to make sure my boots were dry before I left after they got completely soaked on a hike on my last day (gracias!!!!). The place itself was very cozy, comfortable and clean. Warm beds, towels provided, great water pressure in the shower, ample space and bits&bobs in the kitchen to cook with. If you don’t feel like cooking, there are lots of food shops available nearby. A very generous breakfast is also provided every morning. If I ever return to Ushuaia, I already know where I’ll be staying! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!!

A microwave would be a great addition

Good vibe. It's like you're living at home with your family/friends. As for transportation, the hostel is located in residential area instead of downtown, therefore I have a chance to see the other side of Ushuaia by taking the bus, which is interesting and very different from tourist area, that would be a good option if you are interested about local life.

Flor and Joel are the most helpful and friendly hosts I have come across in the past 10 weeks. They provide lots of local info and are clearly very keen to give their guests the best time.

The location isn’t in walking distance of town

You arrive like a guess and leaf like a friend, the owners are just perfect! Thanks for all!

-the hosts are great and taking a lot of time to explain you everything -the neighborhood is quite and safe. Unfortunately it‘s a few kilometers from the center, but there is a cheap public bus going like every 15 minutes. -some small grocery shops, restaurants and bakerys just around the corner -the bed was fresh and really comfortable -heating in every room. You won‘t be cold. Hot shower aswell. -small, but well equipped kitchen

-commenly used bathroom could be cleaned more often. But ofcourse depends on the people staying there aswell.. -make sure to speak some spanish. The host won‘t understand english

Host is very helpful and friendly, rare to find. A small cute family will host you. It was a pleasant stay. Quite clean and maintained. Facilities properly maintained and repaired. Wish the best of luck for the host. Hope they will provide this service to more people.

It is a bit far, specially during mid night flight. This is easily accessible by car during night time and by bus during day time.

Flor and Joel were absolutely amazing! Very welcoming and helpful with tips on things to do and places to go. I lived my time in Ushuaia thanks to them, I felt like home. Thank you!
